basically i want to offer my users a flash video that'd show how to do various items.

but i do not know how to make anything that advanced in flash.

Making Presentation CD
Hello, This is my 1st post,

I am about to make a presentation CD for a certain company, I have done a similar project like this, But I have done it using load movies so ended up with alot of swf files,

At the end of this project, I am going to make it into an autorun CD, and I do not want end users to see the multiple swf files. Is there anyway I can group them together into a file, or seperate the swf files to a folder yet still use loadmovie script?

Making A Preloader For A CD Presentation
Hi.

I have a presentation developed for a CD that contains very large video and audio segments. Everythign works fine, with the exception that when the player is launched it takes more than 20 secs. for the presentation to begin. I imagine this is due to the initial scene which comes in at over 100MB. I want to add a preloader that would instantly load the fullscreen and update the progress of the video loading in the next scene. I have tried numerous techniques, but none seem to work so far. It seems as though preloading is designed for bandwidth issues online and not bandwidth locally.... does anyone have experience with this?

I wanted to know what best to use if I wanted to make the above mentioned (in the topic subject)...

Seeing as tv res is 350x200 (or somesuch) the res won't be a problem (using DV cam), but as soon as I import the movie in flash, it pixalates BADLY (no quality for use in a TV commercial)...

What is the best format & encoding to use for this...

Or is there an app that can import layers from flash...

Because I need intricate shapes over my movie (playing as part of background, or only displayed half way across the screen)

I have to whip out a miracle with limited resources & I need some help please

Making A Grid And Making It Mask Images

I have this code below and i am trying to make each of these movie clips dynamically mask an image. For some reason it still does not work. I can get the grid to come out correctly but the masking is suspect. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you

i am prakash working as visualiser,well i am making a cd presentation i got an idea is it possible to do in this way for example we watch cd presentation auto and clicking on the links what i at the starting it display a message box u want auto/manual,i will go for auto, and the hand will show the full cd presentation going to all links and stoping the different locations i mean the links are at different positions i know that it is posible to do but some coding will go there.one thing if the user clicks in between the cd presenation runnign on the screen again the messagebox will appear as auto/manual so if he choses manual then autorun should stop and manual he can use the links. if any one have any example please send me.or me idea how to do it i not getting how to start the code

Is it possible to create a self executing cd-rom, with a flash movie and player on it. For both mac and pc?

So when i put the cd in a computer, it starts playing the movie in the flash-player (not in a browser!).

1. We use loadvariable, hence, we have to have text file in the CD.
2. We use loadMovie for links which is also visible inside the CD.

How to Hide the text and Swf files?
Any alternative for Cd presentation which means only one EXE file has to be used for all.
Many designers involve in designing this feature.

As a self contained application, when burnt to a cd-rom it should open and play on any computer. But I can't get it to open on any other pc that does not have Flash 6 installed - can anyone help?

Help For CD Presentation Please

I'm making a presntation for CD in MX and need to know what the best way to play all of the audio files and what is the best format to import them in. I have a ton of .wav files and converted one to MP3 using Cleaner as a test. There's no discenible difference in quality but the mp3 is about a third of the size of the .wav file. Every scene has one audio clip and some of the scenes are auto advance and a few are self advance. I'd like the self advancing scenes to play as seamlessly as possible. Is this too much to hope for? There are roughly 108 scenes that each have narration, some just 3 or 4 seconds but some are also 30-60 seconds. Any and all hows and whys would be greatly appreciated.

I am developing a computer-based training course in MX on my P4 2.4 gig/1 gig RAM workstation. It is essentially a glorifed PowerPoint presentation sized at 800x600 pixels at 30 frames per sec with approximately 20 different scenes. There is some animation with tweens (mostly fade-ins) and many "screens" have no animation, consisting of only 1 frame with a 'stop' action. Most scenes have background looped .WAV files for a background soundtrack. There is a video clip (again 30 frames per second) toward the end of the project measuring about 300 x 200 pixels. Once completed it will be made into a projector file and burned to cd for distribution.

Everything plays back fine on my computer, however when run on a P3 at 1 GHz with 512 mb RAM it chokes and stutters every few frames. Should I be creating multiple SWF's to speed it along? If so, how do I call out to those at the end of a particular scene? And, will that work if the fianl project is published as a projector file?

I need a help how to run a presentation on CD. I can create the projector an the autorun.inf file as well. But my questions are:

1. How can I detect the name/letter of CD-Rom drive - I suppose I will need to know it to be able run some player with the name of file as a parameter.
2. How to run a video clips (avi, mpeg, mov). Should I use the default Windows Media Player?? Or is there another option ??
3. And what about photos. I know they could be included in swf but its loads of them ... I want to find an easier way ...

Any idea?

I have a presentation I'm putting together that will be viewed off of a cd. It loads the whole thing at the beggining but because it is a fairly large file with some medium sized videos it takes a while. I think what I need to do is make the various items load on demand. Is that right? How do I do that? Is there a better way to go about it? Any advice or other ideas would be appreciated.

I have 25 slides and would like to use the keystrokes on a G4 15.2 PowerBook for the slides to go backward and forward between each slide. How do I input data to get this to work?

Should I use 800 x 600 pixels or full laptop screen 1280 x 854 with a overhead projector?
Will the overhead projector view the whole laptop screen?

I am creating a presenatation that includes a total of 30 seperate swf files.

The tricky bit is that the client wants to be able to make up different presentations with these swf's, eg, one presentation might only have 10 slides, etc. They might also want to put them in various orders.

I know the long way around, which could include making a few seperate loading movies, one for 10, 14, 16, etc, and then get them to place the swf's they want to play in a folder, and rename them appropriately. That seems quite tedious, and not very professional.

Is there an easier way.

I am working on a presentation to be presented on windows projector and i have seen something similar which moves and stops with the space bar on the keyboard.

It works fine while testing it in flash, with the enter button on the keyboard but once I publish it to the .exe format it does not work.
Any help would be appreciated

i'm taking a power point prez and re-doing it in flash. each slide will have a bit of audio to it. i'm trying to set it up where the user can navigate to each individual slide. there will be about 30 slides. i was thinking of breaking up all 30 into it's own movie.

but my problem is this. i can't figure out how to play the presentation continuously where one slide will load the next without having a gap ofloading time.

does anyone have any suggestions, thanks.

ok, What I have is a cd that has a file with autorun so it pops up when inserted into the cd drive, what I want is for this file to be able to open another file that is on the cd (acrobat file) so users can print it out, without closing the main (flash doc). Is this just a simple code or is this harder than I think it will be?

I am about to start on a project using flash, Making a CD-ROM presentation with Flash for a particular company. Previously I have done similar project but I used load movie script and thus creating a lot of .swf files.

I do need to make this into an Autorun CD later which means I will be creating an exe from flash. on and I am just wondering, is there anyway I can put all the external flash file into another folder yet use the load movie script, or is there any alternative way that I can tackle this problem? like combining all external file into one single file or some sort of things like that?

Xml Presentation
I have a client that needs an online presentation. It is in slide format which contains an image, text, and audio. I would like to use xml since there are 50 slides I have to do. I have made one for him in the past, which I made manually. But I would like to use xml and actionscript this time. I haven't even started on it yet because I have a feeling that I may run into a problem.

The Problem is that the audio files are all different lengths and I want the slides to proceed automatically. Can actionscript or something tell how long the audio file is and when it reaches the end to proceed to the next slide.

I thought about including the length of the slide in the xml that way I can tell flash when to proceed to the next slide. Plus I don't know how buffering is going to affect this.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Hello All,

I have been put in charge of our new CD-ROM / DVD presentation here at work and I was hoping to get some basic questions answered from some of you guys here. This presentation is to be 5 minutes long, be used in laptops at trade shows and will incorporate some already built Flash animation, Video, still shots and then some Flash built text effects and such. I have a couple years under my belt with Flash but by now means am an expert. I have never incorporated video with past Flash projects but I am doing research now. The video will be short about 6 10-15 second clips. I have Flash
CS3 and I am testing the video import feature now and they seem pretty intuitive. My questions, if any of you can help me, are as follows:

Should I use External Progressive Download or Embed Video?
If External, then what should I use for syncing text effects (since I can't use Flash right?)...I assume I need to use another program like After Effects (Which I have zero experience in)?
If Embed, am I going to run into sound issues (that is what I am reading is the down side of embedding) even though the actaul video clips will be dubbed over with a voice over track. And I don't think I am too worried about file size since this will be a DVD or CD-ROM and not streamed or downloaded from a server...are they fair assumptions?

If anyone has done a simular project and can make me a hero over here I would grealy appreciate some help pointing me in the right direction.

well i have created a cd presentation in flash, i have problem with vedioload, when the presentation is in system the movie file is loading quickly but when i write the presentation it in a cd the movie(mpeg, flv) loads but it will take a long time to load why there is any other to load it fast. the movie is 5min clip.any one know how load it fast .

I'm creating a flash presentation with many different sections to it. I have each different section within its own movie clip.

My issue is that I have placed each movie clip into individual keyframes within the main timeline but I cant get them to link propeerly.

Q) How do I get my individual movie clips to play within that single frame before moving on to the next frame/containing
the next movie clip?

I have Flash MX2004 Pro and have created a presentation using the presentation Icon from the welcome screen(not the templates), I have one parent slide, with a next and previous button, I have assigned their behaviors respectively.I have several child slides that inherit the background and the 2 buttons from the parent, I have tested them and they work. My problem is:

1. I do not want the 2 buttons on the last child slide but instead would like a button that takes you to a web page.

2.Also when testing my enter key on the keyboard does not advance the slides.

I'm facing a problem in making a CD presentation in Flash5.I have two .exe(flash made).In the first .exe there is a link which will open another(the second) .exe file.Now i have given the link through Get Url but when the link is clicked it asks for downloading the .exe and does not play the second .exe itself but i want the second .exe file to be played automatically without asking for downloading.
If any one of u has any solution to this problem please reply.

I am currently using Power Point for presentations at my church, but would like to switch to Flash for better animation/transitions.

How can I make the movies go frame by frame by striking an arrow key? THe only think I can get them to do is play all the way through without stopping.

CD Presentation/launching An .exe
I made a movie I'll be using for an interactive CD, the only thing I need to know is is it possible to launch a .exe from a link in Flash? e.x. you click on the solitaire button, and it launches solitaire.exe from the CD. If so, what would the code be?

edit: I figured out how to get the .exe to load with get Url, but it displays the annoying "You are trying to download...Open, Save..." dialog, anyway around this? I want the CD to be as seamless as possible and I really don't feel like using director/shockwave for this task.

Help For A Graduation Presentation

I've been tasked to do a presentation for a graduation using Flash 5. All I need to do is ad about 100 pictures and a song/soundtrack with a little bit of special effects.
I've read the FAQ and tried to understand the lessons in flash, but I'm used to Powerpoint and can't seem to get the hang of it. My deadline is Wednesday 20th. Please help.

I need to incorporate a five minute video in a corp. cd flash presentation. The original mpeg is about 7 mb but when I import in within flash mx and maintain a 100% size, 30fps & 100% quality the output .swf turns out to be 50 mb !!! Even on cd a 50mb video .swf will take time to start. What do I need to do to maintain highest quality, original size and keep the output size lowest as possible or at least +/- same as the original mpeg.

CD Presentation Help Needed
I recently went to a camp and took about 100 pictures with my digital camera. I am in charge of making a slide show and sending people who paid (only for shipping) a CD with the slide show on it. I want to make a flash movie that scrolls through the images under a directory on the CD. I know for a fact that not everyone will have the flash 6 player also. So how should I put this all together? Any suggestions?
I've never done any cd presentations before...like this that is.

i've got a question: how to make presentation without displaying swf file menus or something, like many installers do. how do they do that - removing menues. just like when you start flash_mx, for some seconts it displays welcome text with no menues and no window. i hope i explaned well...
