Flash :: Swf Size Wont Go Bigger In Dreamweaver?

[F8] Symbol Size Bigger Than Max Stage Size - How To Edit/view?
Newbie Alert!

I am trying to edit a FLA file for a sliding timeline and the main background image with the details (years, images text) is 23960 px wide and I cannot scroll the main stage area all the way to the right to edit the contents. How can I do this please?

.fla Movie Size Bigger?
Dunno why but i have soe problem with my flash MX. The size of my .fla become bigger and bigger. This happened when i import a 5mb mp3 music into my flash file. The first time i saving it, it is still ok and the .fla movie become 2mb, but when i save again later, the .fla movie become 20mb and the third time become 59mb!! I wonder what thing had happened? When i remove that music, the.fla movie become 2mb again. But i remeber that the .fla without music i save before was around 1mb only, dunno why it suddenly popup become 2mb. I double check my library but nothing big size things in there, so i wonder why the 5mb music can take 59mb in my .fla document.

there is 6 "sites" and its 760 wide thats 4560 pixels and can only make a doc 2880pixels

i am having a problem with 2 dynamic textboxes. Both texts are having the same size, but still the one is slightly bigger then the other. i already deleted 1 and typed it again, but it stays the same.

Any explanation here?

Is duplicate movie clip increasing swf's size? I mean fo example, if I have a movie clip wich is 1mb, and I will duplicate it 10 times, will the final SWF be 10mb? Or it is just calling for an instance, and it will not be increased?

Imported Fla Size Bigger Than Expected
I'm importing external fla's into a movieClip I've created using:

_root.createEmptyMovieClip("targetLoadClip", 1);
loadMovie(currentMovie, targetLoadClip);

I need to size the imported file to a specific area in the calling program. What I've found is that values targetLoadClip._width & targetLoadClip._height also take into account any invisible items off the stage. An imported flash fla may have been created at 800x450 but can report dimentions that exceed that if objects are off screen. Any ideas on how to get the actual visible size of an imported fla? Does More Frames Mean Bigger File Size?
if i want a slide show to show pictures for like 2 seconds, shoiuld i just draw out 100 frames for it? or is there a pause function?

Bigger Image Size Using Camera.get()

I've had a quick look through the forums and can't seem to find anything that relates to this, apologies if it has already been covered.

I am trying to build an app using flash that will allow a visitor to a self contained kiosk to use the camera to take a pic of themselves and then print it out. All seems to work apart from the image size is pitifully small at 160px. I have tried using Camera.setmode() but have either got the wrong code or my syntax is completely wrong.

Has anyone else tried to do this and if so can they point me in the right direction

Forms That Are Bigger Than The Size Of The Movie?
Hi all

Does anyone know how I can make an interactive email form using scrollbar??

My email form is quite long, and it doesn't fit within my movie proportions - hence I want to make the form with a scrollbar, so everything can fit

The only problem I am having is whilst I know how to make dynamic text scrollable, I have no idea how to add an input text box and make that scroll along with the text - it just sits there and doesn't scroll.

It's quite obvious now how to make a form that only contains two or three sections, but when this form contains quite a lot of information, it simply won't fit within the area designated (which I can't change). A scrollbar would be PERFECT if only it would work...!!!!

What am I doing wrong?????? *cry*

Moving Everything To The Right (after Making Size Of Movie Bigger)

how is the easiest way to move all my content of my movie to another place? Because I have made my movie bigger (from 550x400 to 780x656); and now I want all the content on the right upper corner. This all because I have added a bigger picture in the movie. This picture (780x656) has empty space (in right upper corner); where my original movie (550x400) wil play in.

I am having a problem with a client... I have to keep file sizes under 30kb which I do but when emailed and on there desktop it shows larger. I told them on our desktop it can larger then it is but that when uploaded it will be original size.. or am I wrong?

IÂ´m having dificults in change the size of the video object size, because its pixelated. Its the same effect when I zoom the stage.
The video object default is 160x120.
IÂ´ve set the mycam._width = 320 and so on...
but pixelate..

FlashMX Publishes EXE File Size MUCH Bigger Than Flash 5
i have this flash file that when published (as an EXE) with flash5 is 674k, but when published with flashMX is 1109k. the publish settings all appear to be the same. where is this extra, annoying 400+k coming from?

Making An Unfilled Box Bigger Using A Shape Tween, But Keeping Outline Same Size?
Hi all, been a while since I have been around here.

I have a problem that pertains to a box that I have. I create a simple box in Flash but keep it unfilled as I only want the outline. What I want to do is have a tween on that box that makes it expand, but I want to make sure that the outline is not expanded...

Basically what happens at teh moment is when you try and put a tween on the box it turns it into a symbol (as you'd expect). So when you try and enlarge that symbol for the tween it makes what should be a 1point line into what looks like a 6point line. Do you see what I mean?

The effect I am going for is an interface where the box that contains the text starts small and then enlarges to the right size, but it's important to keep the line size the same or else the effect won't work. It's a fairly straightforward thing that I wnat to do, it's just a pain because I don't know how to do it.

Any help is appreciated.

SWF Size In Dreamweaver
Can someone help? I created a website in Flash and imported it to Dreamweaver. I am having alignment issues. I created the Flash site 550x400, the default size in Flash. When I bring the SWf file into DW,I cant not tweak the size to fit the browser. Any suggestions??

I have made some buttons in Flash to use in my navigation bar in Dreamweaver. I have the Flash movies set to the same size as the table cells in Dreamweaver. However, when I insert the Flash, it grows the cells, making it difficult for me to control the size of the page, line things up, etc. What am I missing? Why doesn't 1 pixel = 1 pixel?

SWF Changing Size In Dreamweaver
I have a flash 5 SWF file I would like to add to a HTML page (movie measures 420 px wide by 24 px high).

I have set the document properties in Flash to this size, and have a cell measuring the same ready in dreamweaver to place the SWF into.

When I import the movie into dreamweaver, the cell expands to 32 px (and is filled by the flash movie), yet if you click on the SWF in dreamweaver it claims to be 24 px.

The SWF has definatley expanded as the cells below are throw out of aligment as soon as I insert the SWF file.

I have a larger SWF on the same page that has come in at the exact size it should.

I'm not too great with Flash (yet!) and am realy stuck with this one, I can frig it by reducing the size of the SWF in flash so it looks right in dreamweaver, but I want to understand why its doing this, and correct it if possible.

I am building a site in dreamweaver with a background image(made in Photoshop). How do I stop the image from repeating? I have tried setting the layout table a certain size but that does not work. I have made the background bigger. I want the page to fit the 800 by 600 resolution. Any suggestions?

I know there is probably a very simple answer to my question, but I am stuck and can't seem to resolve it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SWF Loads Wrong Size In Dreamweaver
Hi everyone! I just became a member and hope I can get some help b/c I'm desperate!

My problem is bringing swf's into dreamweaver. I've made a swf in MX that previews fine in flash & plays fine in player 6. When I bring it into a table in dreamweaver 4, however, it appears very small and totally blank. I am trying to center the swf in the webpage and I am using a 3x3 table, 100%. What could I be doing wrong here?

I've been looking at using a combo box in Flash MX 2004,
it is my preferred method for solving a navigation problem.
It will take over 11 seconds to load at 5kb/sec, a similar jump box in Dreamweaver takes less than 1 sec, why the difference. I prefer using Flash but .....

[F8] Display Inside MC A Bigger Image But Only Display Image Inside Size Of MC
Hey...

I have an easy question,

I want to display an image that is being loaded inside a Movie Clip which is working as a picholder...

This movie clip has borders and the size of the mc (the size that the borders create) is: 200 x 150

But the image that is being loaded inside the MC is bigger than the mc...how can i tell flash to only load just 200 x 150 of the picture ? AND/OR automatically resize the picture to fit the MC size

Any ideas?

Why Do They Keep Getting Bigger?
So attached is a file that has balls randomly moving. I want to use the effect, but over a period of time ( > 1 minute) all the balls eventually become the same size.

I've tried altering the script but can't find a way to prevent that.

Anyone know how to keep the balls from getting bigger?

Oh No My SWF Is Bigger Than My FLA :(
how did i manage that?
i don't know what's going on.
my FLA is 2.8mb and the SWF is 3mb.
it is a pic gallery with 15 pics in it.
the FLA version before this one is 1.6mb which seems more like what it should be.
i think i have picked up an extra mb disease
is there any way to see how big the various items within the FLA are? i cannot find any sign of this.

for some reason when i try to publish my fla file, which is just over 100 MB, the resulting swf is 123 MB. and the scenes do not go in the order they are supposed to. anyone know what could be wrong?

How Comes When I Publish A Fla. It Gets Bigger
right, i have published an fla. file and in the swf, it looks alot bigger, for example the buttons are larger, why?

Is it possible to have a bigger artboard (not page size, the grey bit out side of the page) in Flash MX so I have more room to work in.

If not, Macromedia SUX! well... they are doing alright but it's really annoying if you cant fit in the small space!

Controlling An SWF From A Bigger SWF
I have a website (http://www.SergProtector.com) and in it I load external SWFs. However I would like to control them as well. I would like to have a button on the main SWF that tells the loaded SWFs to go to the next scene.

Simple enough?

I hope this doesn't make it any trickier: I won't know which SWF is loaded onto the mcHolder at any given time. And the same button that makes it go to the next scene has to work with any swf. Any thoughts?

My Stage Is Bigger Than It Says It Is...

99% Flash Newbie here. With my first question posted on Flashkit. Hopefully it's a simple answer.

I some objects on my stage, they are all set at 520px X 328px.

I have a stage, the stage says it's set at 520px X 328px.

BUT, when I am looking at my screen, the stage is bigger than the objects.

When I publish, I get the same results with my objects being smaller than the movie size. There is a bunch of white space around the object.

Any advice? I'm using Flash MX 8 and am using this sample .fla to mess around with. http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Inter...8294/index.php

[F8] Filesize Gets Bigger
I need to create about 150 product pages.
So, what I do was to create a .fla file for each.
The first .fla file for the first product is 100kb. Acceptable.
However, once I right click and copy paste to duplicate the first .fla, the size of the .fla increases.

That's the first question.

Second question is, I have the main file which is called esp.fla. The file size is 4388kb. I tried publishing (File > Publish), but it gives an error. Saying not enough memory. Why is that so? All main images (about 150 jpegs) for this .fla has been optimized to below 10kb each. The last time it published successfully, the filesize of the esp.swf is 250mb.

However, when I press CTRL+Enter, the file size reduced greatly!

Any particular reasons to these?
What's the differences between using Publish and CTRL+Enter?

Manipulating A Mask To Get Bigger?
is there a way to make a mask that will get bigger by calling a number.

what i am doing now is puting a movie clip on the mask layer and then trying to manipulate the x_scale and the y_scale of that movie clip but it does not seem to work. i can get it to work if not a mask layer, but when i make it a mask layer it won't work.

I have a movie 640x480 and I want to set up a section in the middle of it for loading external swfs into. (I am setting up some buttons; when clicked, they will load these middle swfs.)

I'd like to set it up so that this middle section is not square. I guess that I will load the movies behind a mask??? or a graphic that will make them look something other than square?

Why Does My Fla File Get Bigger Each Time I Use It?
Ok, first, let me say that I'm a complete flash newbie... What I'm doing is, I'm trying to create some lessons to teach melody using flash animation, for people who don't read music... I've created a keyboard that basically plays the melody and people can see... I've figured out the math, the animation is very simple and all the graphics I've created in flash as vector, and the .wav file is very small (90k)...

So here's the problem... After doing the first set of animations, the file size of each .fla file was like 187k... I used one of them as a template, since all I had to do was rearrange the notes, but the animation was the same... I deleted the old .wav file, imported the new wav file... My files are twice the size of the original...

Is the old wav file still hiding somewhere in there?? I can't understand why the file is getting bigger since I've basically just replaced one wav for another... Any info appreciated, thanks...

I Need A Bigger Work Area
i am trying to make a sequence of buildings shrink in my scene. which is fine, but i want them to start out very very very large, larger than my available work area.. is there anyway to make the work area much much biggeer.. say like 4 times bigger? who invented this finite work area anyway? any suggestions?
