Does anybody know how can I called a quicktime into a swf movie?

For instance: I have a quicktime movie and I want to put a Action in ".fla" that called the quicktime (or AVI) movie whem I export to swf?

Trying to figure out how to incorperate a Quicktime Movie 1-6 min within a flash movie, I know that Flash Can't Actually Play the movie. But I'm almost positive that I've seen this done before. Sort like a portal or something. Any ideas or will I just have to like to a HTML page?

Flash To Quicktime?
I have a flash intro and then want to automatically leave that and have a quicktime movie. Then when that ends I want to go back to another flash movie.

It is all going to be on a CD format to be distributed.

Quicktime N' Flash
Hi guys,

Okay...now I am working on a CD for myself and I want to incorporate a couple of movies I made. So I am testing one of them now.

The first QT is approx 123 MB.

Initially I wanted to embed the video into the Flash movie. But the software says I can't import it because there isn't enough memory. I have about 225MB of RAM but it isn't enough.

Sooooo...I decided I would just use a button in my flash movie to open the QT file separately.

I am still learning and am not sure how to approach this one. Do I use a get URL function? Is there a better way? I tried get URL and told it to open the .mov file...which it does, but not until trying to open my home page first...???

Of course, if it was at all possible I would have wanted to integrate the video into the visual design of the CD instead of having to open a separate QT window. If anybdoy has ideas on how I can do that instead it would be great.

So I guess what I am asking here, (finally), is for anybody who has ever used flash MX to open up a larger video file (in ANY way) to lend me your suggestions and ideas.

Quicktime Into Flash 5
hi all!

I checked the search for that problem, but it was no real help for me. sorry! so it's your turn now.

i've tried to import an quicktime.mov into my flash-film.
In the timeline it's visible, but at test movie or publish movie
there's just a white screen then.

What's wrong???
Are there missing any extensions or what i'm doing wrong?
Please Help!
And don't forget I've only flash 5 and no mx.

ok I'm trying to export a flash movie to quicktime and when i do, it gives me this error:

"the installed version of QT does not have a handler for this type of Macromedia Flash moviue. Please consult the documentation for further information."

Flash 5 And Quicktime
It is very simple, but it is not working. I am importing a quicktime movie into a fla (Flash 5), but when I try to see it in my page it doesn't play.

I followed all the steps to import a video five intoa flash file:
To preview a QuickTime movie:

1 Add the number of frames to the Timeline that correspond to the length of the QuickTime movie you want to play.
2 Choose Control > Play.
Note: You cannot preview QuickTime movie content using the Control > Test Movie command.

To set the directory path of a QuickTime movie file:

1 Choose Window > Library and select the QuickTime movie you want to edit.
2 In the Options menu in the upper right corner of the Library window, choose Properties and click Set Path in the Video Properties dialog box.

Where is the mistake? What am I doing wrong?

Say I embed a quicktime movie into a flash file with Flash 2004... publish it as a Flash 7 .swf....will that embedded movie still play back on a browser on a browser WITHOUT the Quicktime plug-in?

What I'm saying is, will the advanced multimedia embedding capabilities of Flash MX 2004 eliminate the fear of possible users who do not and will not install the quicktime plug-in?

hello
i just finished making an animated Flash music video short and i was informed at the last minute it was needed in Quicktime format, not .swf.

everytime i export the movie as a .mov file the music does not sync up with the animation the way it does exporting as an swf. any ideas. im on a deadly deadline and im feeling helpless.

I have been importing quicktime into flash, but compared to mpeg 4 from final cut pro the movie in flash is pretty poor, and it more than doubles the file size.

However I have seen better on other sites that I believe are flash, for example www.theotherfinal.com (great film).

So I seek knowledge for improving both size and quality in flash, I'm wondering if a .mov file can be linked rather than imported like an external swf.

I want our flash site to be able to show quicktime movies inside of our flash file...I do NOT want to embed the .mov files...I want to progressively download the videos when called upon...is this an easy thing to do? Do I have to deal with any special html? Help Please.

Quicktime VR To Flash
I have a question regarding importing or somehow being able to use the VR quicktimes with extension .mov. I need to get a few .mov's into flash. But they arent working probably because they are interactive files. So I was wondering if there is a way to either import these into flash or if there is a way where I can convert the interactive .mov into a regular .mov video which spins the whole 360 degrees?

I have access to the original shot (which is distorted) as well. If all else fails, is there a way that I can grab that shot and fix the distortion of it so that it works? I've tried to throw it in a 3d application but it doesn't look too great, but maybe I did it wrong I don't know.

Well if anyone can help or has any info regarding getting this into flash please reply, thanks.

MAC Flash Quicktime ?
Everytime someone sends me .swf in email form or over a network when i download it defaults to the quicktime player to display it and thus fooks it all up...Is there anyway around this? Even when I the try to open the file in Flash it don't work...argghies!

How Do I.... Flash To Quicktime (MAC)
I am having problems with getting flash to quicktime. I have tried almost everything. I get this error when trying to "publish" a quicktime movie from flash.

"An error occurred because a required Quicktime component could not be found."

I have the latest quicktime and flash updates.

Flash And Quicktime
I am using FLASH MX. I have imbedded raw, uncompressed Quicktime files into FLASH. When I try to save as a projector or EXE file, the quicktime movies seemed compressed, and have pixelization (almost Cinepaked looking)even though I left all options in the import process as RAW or UNCOMPRESSED. I am not delivering the final output on the web and do not care about file size. Does anyone know why it's compressing in such a way and not retaining the "PURE" look of the original Quicktime movies?

Quicktime VR To Flash
I have been hired to make VR objects for a reatail website. I used lightwav 3D 8.5 to export the objects to a Quicktime VR file. My question is, can you import these files into Flash and export them as flash files.
More computer users have flash players than quicktime, so I would like to have these files accessible by more people.

I would like to avoid typing it all in actionscript if at all possible.

From Quicktime To Flash?
I am working on an interactive Flash file with a friend. She cannot understand Flash at all, but works very well in imovie. I am looking for some way to take the slideshow-like file she creates in imovie and bring it into Flash, where I could then add the interactive aspects (buttons, etc.) and publish the final product as a .swf. My thought was to have her export a quicktime file from imovie, which I could then import into Flash. However, I need to be able to edit the images and effects in the quicktime file, not just display the quicktime file. Is that possible? Is there a tool that could do this?

FLASH TO QUICKTIME FOR MAC
Dear All,

Hopefully someone can help.

I am trying to convert a short (20 second) basic animation from Flash to Quick time. Flash 7.0 to Quicktime 7.5 Pro. I've just bought Pro after it refused to do it.

Unfortunately when I try to publish the error message says that my Quicktime 'does not have a handler for this type of Macromedia movie'.

I've had a quick look through the forum but the most relevant one suggests unchecking a box that I don't seem to have in my Quicktime preferences.

I've tried just opening the flash and flash player files in Quicktime Pro too but that doesn't work either.

Please help!

Flash And Quicktime Don't Mix
I am making a new website in MX 2004 and have a bunch of quicktime files I want to display somehow. Originaly what i wanted is to have a button in my site to launch a pop-up that has the quicktime movie inside it. This I could not get to work and I tried Kirupa's tut on pop-ups but it does not work for me! I copied the exact same code and everything! But anyways I have about 20 quicktime files so it would be insane work to copy and paste the AS 20 times. Any other ideas...I don't think there are any!

does anybody know how to get a quicktime movie to load into a .swf? i have a bunch of quicktime .mov movies that i want to load on top of the main movie once a button is pressed. so far it's just the video in flash, but i'm wondering if there's a way to load an actual quicktime frame and toolbar and have it stream instead of preload... it seems like it's possible if i use the linked video mode when importing, but i can't figure it out...

Quicktime 360° In Flash?
Hi, anyone has an idea how to program such a QTVR in flash, where you have also some 'vertical' steps on y-axis? I've found a lot of these easier panoramic-controls and also a commercial software that let you convert QTVR's to flash (qtvr2flash) but they're all limitated with scrolling the images only horizotally.. So what I'm seaching for is something that also switches between, for example 4 horizontally sequences (movieclips) when the mouse moves on y-axis.. ??
Anyone ever seen something like this is flash?

Quicktime Or Flash?
I don't have any sound on my edited .mov playing in browser.

I have a video for a client who's original video editor put in the wrong phone number at end of video then moved out of state. I took the wmv, edited it in Premier Pro 1.5 and compressed it in Premiere with sorenson 3 into a .mov . Then since it was still too large i took it into quicktime player, imported it and compressed it with sorenson3 again to get it down to 8mb.

It plays on my computer but I went to the clients computer to show him and the video played w/o sound on several, giving the error that you don't have the right plugin and the correct one is not avaliable on the quicktime server.

So the dillema is does anyone have a fix or should i re-render in a larger filesize or should i try and take it into flash?

have you seeen those 360 quicktime videos, in which you can rotate a scene totally in 360 with your mouse??? well, i want to add one of those in a flash presentation i'm doing, and when i import these video to the scene, it just fits in one frame, and nothing happens. how can i add these video (or application, because it really isn't a video) to my flash presentation???

Im not too keen on using video in flash, but I need to take a 32mb quicktime movie and display it on the web. Flash is definitely preferrable. Quicktime 7.2 And Flash CS3
Upon importing a working .mov and exporting the .swf (as2) the playback will only play 2/3rds. The rest of movie is still there (if you manually slide the track head in the player) but it stops cold and the remainder has no sound.

as for the browser, I've checked the quicktime settings and everything is properly turned off, yet I can't get full playback now that I've updated finalcut pro to quicktime 7.2

the problem lies within the import, as testing the fla has the same problem, is there a setting in the import screens I can tweak to stop this?
