Flash :: Volume Light Effect

Light Effect?
Hi,

I am looking to make a similar transition betwen my movies.
The effect I'm looking to acieve is the picture transitions.
They sort of have a radial blur and a kind of glow effect.

I have tried to make it in photoshop, but it does not look very good.

Anyone knows how is it donne?

Maybe they used After Effects and Star Glow or Shine on the graphic.
I was able to make it in After Effects but the file is huge.

Someone posted once somekind of light effect.
It looks like a paper, in which some letters are cut and a light source is moved behind 'em. I need help. If i click download nothing helpfull cames out and i'm to beginner for tutorial [I made some kind of expression ] Can anyone see that tutorial and help me

Light Blurring Effect... How Do I Do It?

i have a character, where i want a dot of light to outline the character, leaving behind a blur of itself as it moves....

Beam Of Light Effect?
hi all,

I've seen the way to create "Beam of light" effect on a Logo at http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Sp...99/index.shtml. It's very difficult for me to break apart the logo and define the part I want to shine.

Does anybody know a better solution or some way to create similar effect?

Rotating Light Effect Help
I am a little new to flashmx so forgive me in advance if I sound a little naive here

I am in the process of creating a website for my employer(doing it on the side)and within their logo contains a lighthouse. They are wanting me to create the effect of a light ray rotating around (similar to what lighthouses in real life do).

Is this doable? and if it is, can someone point me in the right direction on how I would do this?

Light Breaking Through Effect
hi, i have a question. i want to get the following effect. i have 2 cogs (gears), both the same size. They have six teeth each, what i want is, to have a light breking from behing them, through the teeth. so basuically id have 2 gears/cogs rotating around with a light effect behind them.

my question. Is this possible and how the hell is it done.Masking perhaps. i am new to all this and am just finding my feet, this is for a film trailer i am creating.

Flashing Light Effect
I need a flashing light effect, I have 1 movie clip with 1 frame,
I understand the _visible=1(or true) function,
I need to set it to appear and dissapear randomly (Math.random()*10000) think thats 10 secs.
So how could i use the setInterval and build a loop to make it appear and dissapear randomly? on 1 frame

Moving Light Effect
I have a scene in my current project where a woman is in bed at night, and so have set the brightness to -50 on all symbols in the scene. A door will open and you will see the rectangular light from the opening grow in width, making parts of certain symbols return to 0 as the light passes them (hope you're following me).

Can anyone help me as to how I could pull off such an effect? I don't want the entire bed and woman to become brighter when the door opens, I want only certain parts of the objects that are touched by the light to change brightness.

I know there are similar films that have maybe a torch flashlight moving around a scene - illuminating different areas under the circular light and I need to know how to do something similar.

Hi, I'm designing a site at Checkittoday.org and I need to creating a panning light effect on their logo in the flash banner. I want something like a bright light shining from behind the bottom letters, panning from left to right. Does anyone know how to do this? Light Bulb Effect
what I have is a basic light switch with a light fixture

I need the light fixture to turn on when you click the light switch

the light switch will also go from the "off" position to the "on" position.

As for the light effect would be nice if the light had the effect of warming up, or getting brighter. As it gets brighter The text under the light starts to become visible until the light is at full brightness and can read the text clearly.

I know that I'm in over my head here, but got to start trying the good stuff at some point.

Light Effect From PS To Flash
Hello All...

I am trying to use a lighting effect I made in Photoshop using Lighting Effects and layer blending. I saved my light as a PNG and brought it into Flash but it does not have the same effect, I am guesing because of the lack of layer blending used in Photoshop.

Is there anyway to get this to work in Flash MX just as it looks in Photoshop? On a related note...what is the easiest way to bring over a complex Photoshop file into Flash. I made my entire website layout in Photoshop and am now ready to start constructing it in Flash.

[flash 8] Help With Light Effect.
I am working on my first flash project. Up until now I have just done frame by frame drawings. What I am trying to do is make a light like on police cars. I need it to spin an give off red light. I attempted this but with my limited knowledge of flash my result was far from what I had hoped. I created the light bulb on one layer and gave the fills some transparency, then I created a new layer witch would be my light. I created two circles evenly spaced from the light bulb and drew lines to connect the sides of the bulb to the top and bottoms of the circle. I filled the light cones with a radial gradient fading from highly saturated red to totally transparent white. I then moved both circles together on the 15'th frame and set it to shape tween. From there I copied the first frame and pasted it into the 30'th frame. this created a really fake looking light rotation. I have the .swf file attached to this post in a .zip file. I am trying to make the most realistic light rotation as possible. Sorry for not uploading the editable file, but I forgot to save it in the wright format and didn't save the project. Can someone please help me?

Light Bulb Effect Help
Hello,

I am working on a project, and I need a little bit of help. On the front page of my document is some content, such as Welcome logo and some navigations. I want to create a light bulb effect (not sure of the correct term), but I want a image such as a light bulb and which I click on the string of it the light comes on and my navigations and welcome logo is now visible which shadows etc. Can someone give me some guidance so I can achieve this effect. Thanks.

I'm looking to create an effect that I've seen quite often. It is probably common and it may well be easy to do, but I've tried everything I could think of myself and the results are nothing but miserable.
I'm using Flash 8, on Windows XP machine, and I also have Photoshop CS2 running (if needed).
The effect I'm searching for looks like this: there are these banners, coming up on web sites, where a ray of light, very subtle, runs from an end to another.
It is as if you were directing a flash light (more subtle though) on an image and running it smoothly from end to end. And sometimes it sparkles a bit and shimmers.
It's a kind of shimmer, light, sparkle, moving around. Very pretty :)
Does anybody know how to achieve this effect?
I would love to be able to do it :)

after entering the site, click the left top button from the navigation, then it'll start show you the photos by years, and when you click on arrows underneath, left and right, it'll change photos by fading in and out. the effect is like when the photo changes, there's like flash light effect on fade in/out. what do you call this effect? and how do you create it? I tried to use a big white rectangle, it just doesn't look good...

i trying to do a little game just to learn actionscript and i made a light ball that follow the mouse in slow speed. the user can see only things that in the light radius and he need to leed the ball to the end without thouching anything. their are moving objects in the stage and walls. my question is how can i make objects to block the line of light when it touches other objects like the blue triangle in the file i uploaded. the light it self is drawn by code so it can be dynamic. so any one know how to do it or any tutorial?

I haven't done flash in a long time and i'm not sure how to search for this answer because I don't know the right keywords. I need to create an effect for my text that makes a little light go across it. Such as in video games and banners that you see. A little light goes across from left to right on the text.

How can I create this for my text or image? I would like it on images too. Please explain in steps. Thank You.

Well, it goes like this. I was checking on how to make a cool light saber effect on a flashkit tut, however when it comes to the inset soften part flash crashes. I have tried this 31 times but flash always crashes for me. I am currently using flash mx 2004 professional 7.2. Is it a glitch in the software??

Circle Of Light / Masking Effect Help Needed
I'm creating a pacman style game and created an effect where the player can only see part of the maze with a circle of light around him.

The technique I used was to lock a movie clip of a giant black box with a gradated hole cut in the center to the player's position.

This works fine, but when the player is moving, everything gets slowed down - I'm guessing because the shape that is being moved with the player is so big and everything has to get redrawn essentially.

Does anyone know of another technique I might be able to use that won't slow down my game?
