I am building a tour management application for my band, And I want to know if it's possible to view html content from inside flash. Is there an HTML Viewer component or something?

If not I'll have to use an iframe and update it that way.

I need to be able to see google maps based on where the next gig is.

after certain time they disappear and i could see normal HTML.
They play on the current page.

Have made a flash menu that sits in with my HTML website. I would like to link it with my HTML websites current navigation and have got stuck!.

How do I get my flash menu to display its target URL (my.html file) within the current web page that it is incorporatied into?. Would it involve using frames? or would it mean creating the website in flash?

I Can't Get The Flash Movie Controls To Display In A Web Page
Hello,

(I have posted this in the DW forum as well)

I'm fairly confident in DW but still getting to grips with Flash, however...

I created a flash movie from a small .wmv sample clip went through the Flash standard import and convertion steps, chose the standard buttons and published it!

The video worked fine in the flash preview (and in the HTML preview) and the video controls also work just fine, I even have all the files saved into a single folder.

I then embedded the .swf file into my page on DW and still got the grey box which shows there is a flash file I then previewed it in a browser and the controls do not show, I even uploaded it to my server to try it live on the net and still the same problem.

I'm much more of a designer than a coder and I looked over the coding and it 'appeared' to be fine.

What simple idiotic thing am I not doing...?

I'm using Dreamweaver & Flash CS3

How Do I Tell My Flash Movie Which Frames To Display Depending On The Page?
Hi,

I'm creating a php website with a flash movie that incorporates the navigation. The movie shows an image for each section and this image doubles as the navigation. The website uses the same php template throughout the site for each page.

Here's the thing: I would like each page within the site to display the rollover / active state of the section that the page is in, rather than the movie playing fully each time the visitors visits a different page.

The .fla file and .swf can be viewed here:

I've been trying to use an iframe over a Flash movie to fake it but I just get all kinds of browser problems when I try to do that. I am interested in getting the HTML code of the containing page of the flash movie. For instance, I want to be able to examine the content of the page from within the flash movie itself. To do this, I was hoping to be able to communicate with the page using fscommand or something of the sort, however I cannot find a way to actually call a javascript command and be able to get the results of its execution. Can anyone think of a good way to do this?

Display 150 Page Text File In Page Format In Flash
What i would like to do is grab the text from a 150 page text file and display it in flash. Sure i could just open up a pdf from the file but thats not what i want to do. I want the text to be in the flash frame.

How would i go about this? I don't know anything about VB or mysql. I saved the file as an xml file could i somehow import that?

Hi all

Is this possible?

I want to launch a flash movie (800 by 600) from an html page - fairly straightforward I guess!

However here is the tricky bit - when the user clicks on the button to launch the flash movie, instead of opening a new window with the flash movie as soon as the user clicks the button, I would like to display a loading bar (possibly a small flash movie embedded into the html page) on the html page. When the loading bar gets to 100% i.e when the flash movie has completely loaded, I would like then to launch the 800 by 600 flash movie in a new window...

If this is indeed possible - can anyone suggest how to do it?

I have a list of links that I want to open an external HTML page within my Flash movie how can I do this?

For example: 5 links changing a common content area. The content area would display 1.htm, 2.htm ..., depending on which link you selected.

Abit new to flash.
I have made a swf that I want to play in the background of an HTML page while other HTML elements are on top, image buttons, etc. (I cant make the other elements flash due to some other issues in the enviroment I am designing this for at this time.) But it seems no matter what I do, the flash movie cant have anything on top of it. I have tried as a seperate frame in the background and as an embedded object at a lower layer number.

Is it even possible, and if so any hints or help to get that to work?

does anybody know, whether it's possible to resize a Flash-object within the surrounding HTML page?

I'm creating a movie that displays an XML document as a tree. All nodes should be expandable and collapsable, which means that the size of the tree constantly varies. Whenever the tree is smaller than the movie's space, it fragments the page. Whenever the tree is bigger than the movie, I need to add scrollbars and end up with an annoying window-within-a-window construct.

Flash Movie Not Centering In HTML Page

I'm having a hard time setting up my website page to center (vertical and horizontal) my flash movie in a browser. I was finally able to get it to fit screen no matter what resolution, but it looks more to me like it's aligning itself top/left.

I'd like to know how I can put a flash movie that's much smaller than a header anywhere on my website. I've been searching on how to do this but no luck so far. Is there a code that will allow me to do this? I don't want the flash as a header, just as a part of the site without aligning to the top as it usually does. Any feedback well appreciated.

Writing A Value From Flash Movie Into Html Page
Hi,

I wrote a flashscript that receives some data from db and need to write it into hidden field in html page. It works ok for short texts but when the text's size from db exceeds somewhere around 450 characters it simply stops writing it. And I don't understand what's the reason.
Another thing. When I try to pass html tags within text, some of work ok like bold, or italic tags but for instance the link tag (a href) doesn't work.
Need your help.
