Flash :: Wiggle/wave Effect

A Wave Effect.. Anybody?
This isn't necercerily actionscripted based but I was wondering anyone has a way of making an effect like a wave coming at you.. maybe some duplication wave effect that zooms at you or SOMETHING.. maybe a sine wave that moves towards you making a wavey effect.. if anyone knows what I mean please get back to be as soon as you can.

I have a movieclip that i must distort to move as if it is a flag...in a wave moving manner.

I have briefly explored using a simple mask...to create an effect as often seen in water reflection effects... but it looks too choppy to look like a real flag waving.

Perhaps there is a script that will modify an image to do such things? or an animation technique?

Moving Lines With A Wave Effect

Sine Wave/blob Effect
Hey everyone,

I have a logo that I made in Fireworks, and it looks decent, but I was wondering if anyone could mimic it with movement. For example, if someone could use actionscript to make it "wiggle" or wave like a flag in the wind, that would be awesome.

Notice how the blue line itself stays at about the same thickness (it barely starts getting thicker), but the shading around it thickens as it goes more and more to the right.

Random Interval For Wave Effect

I made a semi-sinewave effect (view attachment) and it works fine with one exception. I want for it to wave on random intervals (from 1-15 seconds) instead of continuously, but I can't get it working right. Here's the code:

Natural-looking Wave/ OS X Dock Effect
I'm starting my first Flex project, and I need to develop an OS X - style dock navigation with a slight wrinkle: the dock background should have a subtle wave effect that follows the growing of the icons.

A Beach Wave Effect.. Need Some Action Scripting Help

ok now i have a problem im trying too make a beach wave effect from the top view.. where the water comes up from the bottom and goes back down but looks real.. though created in flash mx..

at the moment i have come up with a really poor attempt.. though no action scripting cause i have no idea that best way to go about it.

Creation Of A Ocean Water Wave Effect...
To whomever is able to assist, point in the right direction etc. I am relatively new to Flash, and while I grasp the ideas surrounding the operation of the software and am picking up more all the time, I suck at math and am somewhat artisicly challenged. I have an animated gif that uses a sillouette of a ship moving across the stage, stopping for a helo to land on it, moving some more, stopping to fire a missile, then moving off stage as the missile flies into the screen and goes bang. No problem for the most part. But a ship moving across a plain white bg or blue for that matter is terribly wrong. It needs to be in the water. I was given a flash that has the water moving, but it was done with 167 individual bitmaps and defeats the purpose of this program.
I would like to know if someone can point me down the path and maybe even give some good detailed instructions. If needed, I am happy to send the file I have to give an idea of what I am trying to accomplish.

Ocean Wave Effect With Flash/ActionScript?
Hello Everybody!

I'm new to Flash and ActionScript and would like to know if it is possible to create following effect.

I want to create animated effect of a curve or shape been distorted as a fluid in an open ocean wave.

I wonder if it is possible to do it with ActionScript with some math (sin, cos .. + translation).

It would be nice to be able to move curve/shape control points (nodes) directly, depending on current coordinates and some math transform functions.

Any ideas, tips?
