Option Button Unclick

Hello,

Does anyone know how to unclick an option button on a form after a selection has been made?

One option is to go to the form and delete it there. But I am looking for a more effective way.

Thanks!

Option Button ??????

Lets say that I have a large list of locations in a listbox. What I want to do is to be able to have an option button that I can press in that will sort these locations. Like 3 or 4 different buttons, lets say like retail, finance, ect. Anyone know what kind of code I might have to use to make these sort on clicking the option button?

Option Button - N/a

I'm working on a survey database, I'm having the users select the opton button to rate (1 - 10). Then as an after thought, I thought I would add a button that says N/A or doesn't apply. Course option buttons store numbers.

ANy idea's on how to accomplish this? What ever value gets stored I wouldn't include it in the results.

The Option Button

Hi peeps,

I am encountering a few problems when I'm using the options button on a form.

Is there a way for the options button to display a different value instead of a -1 when the data is transfered to a linked table? i.e Good or Poor or Fair?

Also can a number of option buttons have the same control souce? at the mintue I have three buttons pointing at one control souce and when I select one of the buttons they all get selected.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Option Button

I have a table that has 300+ peoples names on it. Each of these people has a region they belong to 1,2,3,or 4. I also have a form that has 3 combo boxes that are linked to this one table. This information is sensitive and can change by importing new data as well. Is there a way that I can add 4 option buttons, depending on what the user clicks on Opt1, 2, 3, or 4... that is what populates the combo boxs? This seems rather simple, but I can't figure it out.

Option Button Linked With Combo Box

Morning folks,

Todays problem is as follows!...

Is there away to set the values in a combo box depending on what option button you have selected.

What I would like is to select an option button in an option group then that would trigger certain vaules in a combo box. And if I selected another option button it would change the values in the same combo box?

So if I selected optWhite, the values in cboEthnic = British AND Irish AND Other

If I select optMixed, the values in cboEthnic = White and Black Asian AND White and Black Caribbean etc...

Hope this makes sense.

Option Button Value - Version: 2007 (12.0)

I have a form that contains an option group with 3 option buttons (radio type). For this example let’s call them op1,op2, and op3.

I am trying to write an if statement in the after update event of a control on the form that will put up a message box that advises the user that they need to select op1 if it’s not already selected.
This is what I wrote :

Code:
Private Sub Year_AfterUpdate()
If Me.Option24 = False Then
MsgBox "Please click the period button", vbOKCancel
End If
End Sub

When the event runs I get a runtime error 2427 that says “You entered an expression that has no value”
What’s the proper syntax for notifying the user that they must select option button 1 if it’s not selected.
Thanks for your help.

Configure Option Button To Output To Memo Box

Alright, I'm running out of options!! I have several pieces of equipment that use text file configuration data. What I want to do is create an option button for each piece of equipment so that when I click that option button, its output ties directly to a memo box.

What I want to be able to do is have 7 different option buttons and each time I click a different option button I can paste text file config data for each piece of equipment into the same memo box and save it. That way, when I query a particular site ID and look up configuration data for any one of those pieces of equipment, I will be able to view the saved config files in the same memo box just by selecting a particular option button.

Is this possible? I've tried subforms, tabs (although I can't seem to be able to use tabs within tabs), option groups, etc. Any suggestions or help would be most certainly appreciated! :p

Option Group: How To Store Selected Button?

Hi,

On my form I have an option group with 4 radio buttons. Depending on the button selected certain fields become visible. This works all fine. Problem is though that I don't know how to store the selected value. At the moment, every time you open the form you have to select the same button to see the info stored in the fields that become visible. I guess that I'll have to somehow store the value for the selected buttons in the table. But How? Do I refer to the frame and store the value corresponding to the number of button (1, 2, 3 or 4) or do I store the balue for each button seperately?
I've played with it for too long now and cannot find the golden tip. Please advice.

Thanks,

Walt

Code: strDocName = "rptHoursByBranchEmployeeS"
If Me!optHourly = True Then
strDocName = "rptHoursByBranchEmployeeH"
End If

DoCmd.OpenReport strDocName, acPreview
There is no compile syntax error, but when the code runs the If test generates the error: "You entered an expression that has no value."

Any guidance? Jack

Option Button Trouble - Version: 2002 (10.0) XP

How do I use the Option buttons in a Form? Typically I would liek to have two option buttons, one for showing a subform, and one for hiding a subform (these will have other code in them as well). But there is not OptionButton.Click() function... Also, when I'm writing code, I can't just write

If Me.OptionButton1.Value = True then
Yadda yadda yadda
End if

The property of the option button has an "Option Value", but otherwise, I can't write statements because if one of the two option buttons is pressed and not the other, I can't figure out how to say that in code...

I think I'm missing something really obvious...

Searching Using Option Button - Version: 2003 (11.0)

Hi,

I was wondering how can i link the option button to select the field that i want to search on. A print screen is as shown in the attached. My idea is to, for example, if the user wants to search field by project name, he/she has to click on the project name option and type in the text box for the project name follow by clicking the search button. likewise if the user wants to search by projectID.

i do know the codings to search for one field. how can i improve on that to incoporate the option button?

is there anyway that the option button can toggle? which means that once Option A is checked, option B automatically unchecked.

Please Help. Thanks

Use An Option Button On A Form To Select An Alternate Input Mask

I can create a customized Input Mask, however there are two possible structures that the data may take. I think that this should be doable by the use of two fields, if it can be done with one field it would be preferable for searching options. If I have to use two fields there would only be one or the other used for each record so I would prefer to have the unused field inhibited. Either way the code work is beyond my present ability, any assistance would be appreciated.

Option Group Border Moves To Top When Clicking A Radio Button - Version: Any Version

Using the Wizard I added an option group to a form, which collects parameters for running a report. (Already had created an option group manually.)

The label for the group straddles the border, in the old character based style:
+--[label for group]------
| o Radio button 1
| o Radio button 2
|

(I just had to have some fun and put this in).

When I click on a radio button in the group the border moves on top of the label (I can't do a character based version of that one; ha, ha). (The group I created manually doesn't do this, what a surprise when it happened on this one).

Have looked at the properties and can't find anything.

What setting allows this to happen?

Blank Option (radio) Buttons In Option Group

I am using an Access database for a foreign language dictionary project.

One of the forms I use is populated by a query (qryLemmaTable) to retrieve information from tblLEMMA.

This form works precisely as I intend it to work, but there is a glitch on it that is driving me mad.

The form in question has an option group with 11 radio buttons that correspond to the parts of speech associated with each word in tblLEMMA.

When I click on the button optAdjective I apply a filter and the only records that are displayed are adjectives. (The same applies for Nouns, Verbs, Prepositions etc.)

Here is the glitch: even though the radio buttons apply the filter correctly, no “black spot” appears in the button. Other signals on the screen let me know what word type is selected, so I can accomplish what I want, but I want the “black spots” too!

Perhaps this will be a clue: For each radio button I use the following code in the GotFocus event.
Me.FilterOn = False
Me.Filter = "wordtype = 'A'" ‘(or N, etc)
Me.FilterOn = True

And this for the Lost Focus event
Me.FilterOn = False

Thanks for the help.

Currently, the Option Group defaults to Future and No will only be available by manually selecting it. This doesn't need to be changed.

Clicking On A Button To Perform The Actions Of Another Button. - Version: 97 (8.0)

Hi all,

I like to have one button that will do the functions of another button - as if I had clicked on the other button. I don't want to have to complicate the codes though. Any suggestions you guys have will be great?

For example. Button1 opens FormA. I like to have Button2 open the same form, but I don't want to have to duplicate the coding. Of course this is an overly simplified example, but hopefully you'll understand what I'm trying to do.
