Sql 2005 Install Error. MODIFY FILE Failed. Specified Size Is Less Than Current Size.
I installed sql 2005 a while back. Then I recently found out my file system was fat32 (I don't understand why the hardware people did this...) and I had to convert to NTFS. Naturally the sql service no longer worked so I uninstalled inorder to reinstall now I can't reinstall it I keep getting this message

native_error=5039, msg=[Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]MODIFY FILE failed. Specified size is less than current size.

I'll try to post the full log in a new post.

Import Failed With BCP And XML-Format-File
I have a table with 2 row:

CREATE TABLE [dbo].[EABL](
[DSID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
[ABLBELNR] [nvarchar](255) NULL)

If I make a XML formatfile which look like this:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<BCPFORMAT ...>
<RECORD>
<FIELD ID="1" xsi:type="CharTerm" TERMINATOR=" " MAX_LENGTH="20"/>
</RECORD>
<ROW>
<COLUMN SOURCE="1" NAME="ABLBELNR" xsi:type="SQLNVARCHAR"/>
</ROW>
</BCPFORMAT>
then the import failed with the following error message:
[Microsoft][SQL Native Client]All bound columns are not read-only

If I delete the identity column then the import works correct.

What can I do, so that I can import with the identity column ?

Thanks for you help
Fasse

Hello,

We are attempting to install the CTP for SQL Server 2005 SP1 and receive the
following error message in the log:

The following exception occurred: Unable to install Windows Installer MSP

I also found the following entry in the SQL9_Hotfix_KB913090_sqlrun_sqlmsp.log file:
SqlUpgradeMessage = SQL Server Setup has encountered the following problem: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Cannot find the object 'dm_exec_query_resource_semaphores', because it does not exist or you do not have permission.. To continue, correct the problem, and then run SQL Server Setup again.
Thanks in advance for any assistance,

2005 SP2 Install Failed, And Now SQL Server Is Unusable.
Hi,

I have a problem with my SQL Server 2005 instance after trying to install SP2.

My machine has a default instance of SQL server 2005, and 2 instances of SQL 2005 express.

I installed Express SP2 and this installed without a hitch.

Then I installed SP2 for SQL Server 2005. After the install, all the components had installed correctly except the Database Engine, which had a status of failed. I did not investigate why,  I simply re-ran the install.

It failed again, so I investigated further and I found out it failed because it had not been able to start the service VSS Writer. I looked at the service, and found I had changed the user which gives the service rights to start. I changed this back to Local System so the service could start correctly.

I then re-ran the SP2 install. This time it failed in a different place. The reason this time was my user was not a valid user for my server. This is a first, because I logged onto the database using this user name minutes before running the install. The install must have deleted my user. Then I tried to login using the sa account only for my server telling me that the sa account has been disabled.

I now cannot log into my database at all, and am stuck. If I try to rerun the install it tells me it cannot connect to the server to perform the update because there is no user.

Please Help!

I'm at a complete loss, but I am sure the error is something about the configuration with this computer. I have fond a couple of posts on other web sites where people have similar errors, but no feedback on the error or even ideas on what to look at.

ANY recommendations would be helpful!!

Thank you,

SQL Server 2005 SP2 Install Failed Now Unable To Start
Ran the SP2 locally on a Windows Server 2003 SP1 box that had SQL Server 2005 SP1 install on it. Problem was I ran out of C: drive and it failed in the middle of upgrading the server.

I'm unable to start the SQL Server at all now. Is there any way to back this out? Don't think I can reapply any patches since the service is dead.

Eventlog now shows:
One or more files do not match the primary file of the database. If you are attempting to attach a database, retry the operation with the correct files. If this is an existing database, the file may be corrupted and should be restored from a backup.

The log shows it's unable to start SQL (blames it on permisions but it's because SQL can no longer start)

To continue, verify that the file exists, and either grant administrator permissions to the account currently running Setup or log in with an administrator account. Then run SQL Server Setup again.

I'm guessing its reinstall time but not sure how the attached databases will like that idea.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Does anyone have an idea as to why the installation is failing?

P.S.  Those aren't really smileys, they're actually semicolon Ds but I can't seem to get rid of the cartoon translation, even after checking the "This post contains a code sample" checkbox.

SQL 2005 Failed - Cannnot Install Files To The Compressed Or Encrypted..
Hi, I am trying to lean ASP.NET.  So I was trying to install SQL Server too.  But, I could not install.  The aleart box popped up:

"SQL Server set up cannot install files to the compressed or encrypted folder: C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server"

Before this, I also got a warning that the hardware of my computer does not meet the hardware requirement.

I would like to know how I can install SQL Server into my computer.  Or, shouldn't I do that?  To learn ASP.NET I want to have a database ready.  If I can not use SQL Server, I may try Access or something smaller...

Thanks in advance.

Compile Error: Redefinition Of IRowsetBookmark (VS 2005)
Hello,

actually i try to create a native c++ desktop-application that will have to access a SQL CE 3.1 db-file over OLE DB. For that purpose i want to use the same self written wrapper class(for the OLE DB stuff) that i use for a native WM2003 application that creates the db files to be accessed on the desktop application.
The WM2003 application including my wrapper class compiles fine with eVC++ 4.0.
But now with VS 2005 including the same class i got this compile error: "Redefinition of class IRowsetBookmark". I have to add that i used the application wizard to generate a mfc sdi application with database support(ODBC is used in this app, too).
I figured out that in the following 2 inlcuded files IRowsetBookmark is defined:
1)The manually included "ssceoledb30.h" in my wrapper class.
2)The probably from the application wizard included "oledb.h" (in "Microsoft Visual Studio 8VCPlatformSDKInclude")

My workaround for the moment is to comment the class definition in the file "ssceoledb30.h" out because i don't use this OLE DB interface in my wrapper class. But i don't think that this is the way that microsoft supposed to go.

Does anybody had this problem and solved it other way than simply comment one of the class definition out?

I would appreciate it when someone out there knows the answer and could tell me.

Kind regards,
Andre

SQLAgent 2005 SP1 Failed To Run .bat File.
Following is our test steps.1. Create directory E:firefly in E:.2. Create a test file a.txt in E:firefly.3. Create E:firefly est.bat file with the following commands:cd E:fireflycopy a.txt b.txt4. Create a new job in SQL Server Management Studio with only onestep, this only step's commandtype is set to "Operating system(CmdExec)", and click the "Open"button to choose E:firefly est.batfile, then the commands in test.bat are copyed to the command editor.5. Save the job and run it, Management Studio tells the job faild, butdid not tell an error message.If I only use the following command :copy E:firefla.txt Efirefly.txt, and SQLAgent canrun the command successfully via the job.The real functionality of our job is to backup database to a file,then use our source control tool'scommand line tool to submit the backup file to the server.

Failed To Install And Configure Error On Install
Hi,

I've tried looking for a solution in other threads but I couldn't find anything that was completely the same as my situation.  I got a new pc at work and I've tried installing SQL Server 2005 on it but everytime I try to install it, regardless of services included or excluded with the install, I cannot get through the install without this error.  Below is the excerpt from the Summary.txt log file.

I've searched for and found similar problems that deal with the microsoft.sqlserver.notificationservices.dll not being found but I haven't found a fix that worked for me.  These are the fixes I've refered to thus far.

http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1651162&SiteID=17

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940971

http://www.microsoft.com/products/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&ProdVer=9.00.1399.06&EvtSrc=setup.rll&EvtID=29549&EvtType=sqlcasqlassembly.cpp@Do_sqlAssemblyRegSvcs@Do_sqlAssemblyRegSvcs@x80131501

The answer that seems to fix this problem for everyone is to set the MSDTC service login as the NT AUTHORITYNetworkService account.  The problem for me is that this is already set to this profile and I've tried resetting the services and rebooting the machine.  I did not have a problem with my old machine, which as far as I can tell, is the same configuration, so I know this install should work.

I'm running Windows XP SP2.  This is not the upgrade to SQL Server 2005 SP2, this is the original disk that came with Visual Studio 2005.

Has anyone else faced this issue where changing the MSDTC login wasn't the solution?  Also, this is my first post, so I apologize if I've left anything out.  Just let me know if you want any other information.

Thank you in advance.

BULK INSERT Format File Problems With SQLNUMERICAL In SQL-Server 2005 Express
I'm trying to set up a BULK INSERT Format File for some data that I've been sent, which, according to the data documentation, comes in fixed-width format fields (no delimiters except for end-of-row 0D0A) in SQL-Server 2005 Express.

The following is the first line...
"7999163   09182003        56586     56477     3601942   1278      22139     1102      113       118       51450     1    1  63535647  10000
7999162   09182003        56586     56477     3601942   1279      22139     1102      113       118       51450     1    1  63535647  10000     "

Looking with a hex editor, all the above whitespace are 20's.

From the documentation, I've constructed the following table...

CREATE TABLE MQIC.DBO.ORDER_F
(
  TRACER_ID NUMERIC (10,0),
  DB_CREATE_DATE CHAR (8),
  DB_UPDATED_DATE CHAR (8),
  CREATE_DATE_KEY NUMERIC (10,0),
  ORDER_DATE_KEY NUMERIC (10,0),
  PATIENT_KEY NUMERIC (10,0),
  ORDER_KEY NUMERIC (10,0),
  PROVIDER_KEY NUMERIC (10,0),
  LOCATION_KEY NUMERIC (10,0),
  ORDER_TYPE_KEY NUMERIC (10,0),
  STATUS_KEY NUMERIC (10,0),
  PRIMARY_INSURANCE_KEY NUMERIC (10,0),
  EXISTENCE NUMERIC (1,0),
  DURATION NUMERIC (4,0),
  NUMBER_OF_VISITS NUMERIC (3,0),
  ACTIVITY_TRACER_ID NUMERIC (10,0),
  AGE_KEY NUMERIC (10,0)
)

To Bulk Insert this, I've written the following...

BULK INSERT MQIC.DBO.ORDER_F
  FROM 'E:MDataOrder_F.txt'
  WITH
  (
    FORMATFILE = 'E:MDataOrder_F_format.txt'
  )

and written the following format file...

9.0
17
1 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 1 TRACER_ID ""
2 SQLCHAR 0 8 "" 2 DB_CREATE_DATE ""
3 SQLCHAR 0 8 "" 3 DB_UPDATED_DATE ""
4 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 4 CREATE_DATE_KEY ""
5 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 5 ORDER_DATE_KEY ""
6 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 6 PATIENT_KEY ""
7 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 7 ORDER_KEY ""
8 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 8 PROVIDER_KEY ""
9 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 9 LOCATION_KEY ""
10 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 10 ORDER_TYPE_KEY ""
11 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 11 STATUS_KEY ""
12 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 12 PRIMARY_INSURANCE_KEY ""

14 SQLNUMERIC 0 4 "" 14 DURATION ""
15 SQLNUMERIC 0 3 "" 15 NUMBER_OF_VISITS ""
16 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 16 ACTIVITY_TRACER_ID ""
17 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "
" 17 AGE_KEY ""

However... actually running this gives the following error...

Msg 4863, Level 16, State 4, Line 1
Bulk load data conversion error (truncation) for row 1, column 13 (EXISTENCE).
Msg 7399, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error.
Msg 7330, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
Cannot fetch a row from OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)".

Since this is my first time with this, I read the BOL items on Bulk Insert, Format Files, and each of the formatting attibutes, and made up two line "toy" examples for SQLCHAR and SQLINT, including two columns - all worked as expected.

It seemed that only SQLNUMERIC/SQLDECIMAL fell apart.

Even the following trivial example doesn't work for this field of data...

"7999163   "

CREATE TABLE MQIC.DBO.ORDER_F
(
  TRACER_ID NUMERIC (10,0)
)

and

9.0
1
1 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 " " 1 TRACER_ID ""

or

9.0
1
1 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "" 1 TRACER_ID ""

which give this error...

Msg 9803, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Invalid data for type "numeric".
The statement has been terminated.

or

9.0
1
1 SQLNUMERIC 0 10 "/r/n" 1 TRACER_ID ""

which gives this error...

Msg 4832, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Bulk load: An unexpected end of file was encountered in the data file.

Also - the DB_CREATE_DATE and DB_UPDATED_DATE CHAR (8) were supposed to be dates in the format of mmddyyy  but clearly there is no Date datatype in SQL-Server.  I would suppose these need to be converted, but am unsure how.  What is clear is that the data was dumped from Oracle in text form,

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Login Failed For User/batch File | SQL Server 2005
I'm having a problem running a batch file that creates a database in MS SQL Server 2005.
I'm running from the command line the following:----------------------------------------------------------------setup.bat SQLServer (Local) sa pwd DBname----------------------------------------------------------------
 All I get is this:----------------------------------------------------------------
2005-12-13 16:58:27.58 Logon       Error: 18452, Severity: 14, State: 1.2005-12-13 16:58:27.58 Logon       Login failed for user 'sa'. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. [CLIENT: xxx.xxx.xxx.xx]
I know that I shouldn't be using the SA account, but I've set several other accounts up and tried them, and they fail.
How do I check the SA password?
What's the deal with SQL Server 2005?
thanks
Merry Christmas.

Failed To Install SQL Server 2005 Enterprise (x86) On One Server
Failed to install SQL Server 2005 Enterprise (x86) on one server

I am trying to install SQL Server 2005 Enterprise on one of my test server. I am sure I entered the correct domain user name and password and the account is admin. I€™ve tried several times but I got this error instantly:

The SQL Server service failed to start. For more information, see the SQL Server Books Online topics, "How to: View SQL Server 2005 Setup Log Files" and "Starting SQL Server Manually."

Some of the other component could be installed properly. The system was just rebuilt with only VSTS 2005 installed.

Managed Code In SQL Server 2005 And Stored Procedure Name Qualification
All --
Please help.
I am using managed code in SQL Server 2005 and have a question about stored procedure name qualification.
With a VS.NET 2005 Pro Database project, when I use >Build, >DeploySolution, it works great but my stored procedures are named with qualification using my domainusername.ProcName convention, something like this...
XYZ_TECHKamoskiM.GetData
 ...when I want them to be named with the dbo.ProcName convention, something like this...
dbo.GetData
...and I cannot see where this can be changed.
Do you happen to know?
Please advise.
(BTW, I have tried going to this setting >Project, >Properties, >Database, >AssemblyOwner, and putting in the value "dbo" but that does not do what I want.)
(BTW, as a workaround, I have simply scripted the procedures, so that I can drop them and then add them back with the right names-- but, that is a bit tedious and wasted effort, IMHO.)
Thank you.

Adapter To Convert CSV Format File To SAP IDOC Format
 Hi All,

I am stuck at one place, where I have to convert CSV format file data into SAP IDOC format file. In SSIS we don't have any such SAP adapter (though we have .NET Data Provider for mySAP suite [SSIS SAP Adapter] but this is still not fully supported by Microsoft, plus it doesn't have feature to convert data into IDOC format) that can do this. Can someone here please provide me some pointers on any third party adapters available in market to do this job or if anyone has already developed some custom approach to achieve this task?

Your quick response on this is highly appreciated.

Regards,

Kuldeep Chauhan

HIPAA 834 Format Object

Good Morning,
Both BizTalk and Data Junction have pre-built HIPAA 834 transforms. Is anyone aware of a canned HIPAA 834 transform for SSIS? Just wanted to check before I built one from scratch. Would anyone else be interested in this if I were to develop it?

Thanks,

' The Definition Of Object [object Name] Has Changed Since It Was Compiled' Error When Altering A Trigger In 2005
Hello All

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this question to, so if it's not, please accept my apologies.

I'm working in SQL Server 2005 with a database that was migrated to 2005 from SQL Server 2000.  I have to alter a trigger on a table for some functionality changes, and when I modify the trigger and then access it through the application the database is working with, I receive this error:

There was a error in the [stored procedure name] procedure. Error Number: -2147217900 Error Description: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The definition of object '[trigger name]' has changed since it was compiled.

[stored procedure name] and [trigger name] are where the actual names appear in the message.

I've tried running sp_recompile on the trigger, stored procedure, and table that are associated with this, and nothing works.  I have dropped the trigger, which allows the save process to complete (but doesn't perform the required functionality, of course), and then re-created the trigger, but the error message still comes up.  The compatibility level for the database is SQL Server 2000 (80) (as it was migrated from SQL Server 2000 as I mentioned above).

Has anyone seen this, and if so, how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance for your help!

When Using A Sqldataadapter In VS 2005 I Get The Following Error At Runtime. Object Reference Not Set To An Instance Of An Object
Help! I have posted this before and I had hoped that the VS2005 SP1 would help my problem. It didn't. My code is shown below. I have dropped a sqlconnection, sqldataadapter and a strongly-typed dataset from the toolbox onto the component designer for my page and written my code. It compiles without any errors but at runtine I receive the system error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." The error occurs at the first line where the sqldataadapter is mentioned. I have shufflled the code and the error still occurs at first mention of the dataadapter. I have set parameters to a simple string such as "myemail." It hasn't helped. I have used the "Dim" statement as "Dim DaAuthorLogin as System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataadapter and Dim DaAuthorLogin as New ......) at the start of the private sub generated by the event requiring the data. Nothing helps. Here is my simple code to select data from a sqlserver 2000 database. Why do I continue to get this error?

VS 2005 Error 'Object Reference Not Set To An Instance Of An Object' With Integration Services Project Create Failure

Just installed VS 2005 & SQLServer 2005 clients on my workstation.  When trying to create a new Integration Services Project and start work in the designer receive the MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' dialog box with message "Creating project 'Integration Services project1'...project creation failed."

Previously I had SQLServer 2000 client with the little VS tool that came with it installed.  Uninstalled these prior to installing the 2005 tools (VS and SQLServer).

I'm not finding any information on corrective action for this error.

Any one have this problem and found the solution?

Thanks,
CLC

Failed When Running SSIS Package For Pulling Data From A SQL Server 2005 Database To A DBase 4 File
I created a SSIS package (package.dtsx) in SQL Server 2005 Business Intellegence Development Studio. The control flow consists of a SQL Statement Task and a Data Flow. The Data Flow consists of an OLEDB Data Source which is a table in SQL 2005 database, a Derived Column which uses Substring function to truncate the length of the source column to meet the requirement for the destination column, an OLEDB Destination which is a DBase 4 file. Before pulling data from the source to destination, I use the above mentioned SQL Statement Task to delete the DBase table (DELETE FROM dbaseTableName). So The package is supposed to delete an existing DBase table from the destination first, then pull data from a table in SQL Server 2005, truncate the column width, push the truncated data to the DBase file. It seemed no problem when I run the package the first time from within the Business Intellegence Development Studio. It always says execusion completed successfully. However, when I run it again, there were less records returned (about 1/3 less). When I run it more than three times, the resulting file is empty but the file size kept growing. So It seemed that the task failed to delete the previous DBase file and keep appending data to the file which made the file size grew but for some reason the data is missing.

I tried to change the destination to a flat file which had no problem. So I think the problem might be the delete DBase table statement is wrong or the truncate column width part is wrong or both. Could be something to do with the DBase file.

Does anybody know what's wrong with it?  any solution?

Sql Server Linked Object To Oracle Failed
Hello,

Is there any body who create a linked object in sql server 2005 SP2 to Oracle9i sucessfully? I create a link using MS OLE DB provider for oracle, it is ok but I can select the table. It gave me invalid object name  linkname.owner.tablename error. If I create a link using MS OLE DB provider for odbc, it failed saying system error.

"ODBC Driver Manager: Invalid connection string attribute. Specified driver could not be load due to system error 5(oracle in oraHome92)(SQL server, error 7303)"

I installed oracle odbc 9.2 on sql server 2005 server and tested it ok. Why link server object can't  create?

any help, thanks!

XML Format File For Bulk Insert Of Text File With Fixed Length Columns
Hey All,

Similar to a previous post (http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=244646&SiteID=1), I am trying to import data into a SQL Table.

I am trying to program a small application that will import product data obtained through suppliers via CD-ROM. One supplier in particular uses Fixed width colums, and data looks like this:

Example of Data

0124015Apple Crate          32.12

0124016Bananna Box          12.56

0124017Mango Carton         15.98

0124018Seedless Watermelon  42.98
My Table would then have:
ProductID as int
Name as text
Cost as money

How would I go about extracting the data with an XML Format file? I am stumbling over how to tell it where to start picking up data for a specific column.
Is there any way that I could trim the Name column (i.e.: "Mango Carton         " --> "Mango Carton")?

I don't know if it makes any difference, but I've been calling SQL from my code by doing this:

Code in C# Form

            SqlConnection SqlConnection = new SqlConnection(global::SQLClients.Properties.Settings.Default.ClientPhonebookConnectionString);
            SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand();

            cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text;
            cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO PhonebookTable(Name, PhoneNumber) VALUES('" + txtName.Text.ToString() + "', '" + txtPhoneNumber.Text.ToString() + "')";
            cmd.Connection = SqlConnection;

            SqlConnection.Open();
            cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
            SqlConnection.Close();
            RefreshData();
I am running Visual Studio C# Express 2005 and SQL Server Express 2005.

Thanks for your time,

Hayden.

Failed SP1 Install
Reporting services was installed prior to my arrival so I am not sure exactly how it was configured.  I am unable to connect to it in any way and no one else is using it.  All attempts to remove reporting services have failed and I can't reinstall over the top of it as the installer detects the reporting services installation already exists.  Since I can't authenticate using windows or sql authentication, I can't install service pack 1.  Does anyone have any pointers for where to begin?

Thanks!

Query Execution Failed For Data Set 'DataSource1'. Invalid Object Name 'incident'.
Here's the full story...

I'm trying to get some proof of concept reports made for a MOSS / SQL Server 2005 (sp2) Integrated solution. I have a simple report that displays everything in the 'incident' uploaded to the MOSS server, and it works fine.

I've made another report that uses a line chart to plot some averages. This report, called 'Average Control Time by Weekday' works 100% ok in VS2005 preview mode and both reports use the same datasource. The report is uploaded and the dataset is all linked up.

When I view the report (by clicking on it's link on my Sharepoint Site), however, I get an error:

An error has occurred during report processing.

Query execution failed for data set 'DataSource1'.

Invalid object name 'incident'.

I've checked the SQL that was run in the SQL Server Profiler to see what transactions were hitting the database. The query that the report makes when in VS2005 Preview mode is precicely the same as what Sharepoint makes when it tries to render the report.

I made another plain report (just a table view) that uses the same query as the 'Average Control' report and tested it on Sharepoint, and it works perfectly. Any ideas?

p.s. I even asked I-God (http://www.titane.ca/concordia/dfar251/igod/main.html) all he said was that I would need a court order to get rid of the recursion in AIML... and then asked for my credit card number.

System.Net.WebException: The Request Failed With HTTP Status 404: Object Not Found.
We did configure reporting services to use a custom security extension on a Windows  2000 sp4 machine and using IIS 5.0.

The website for reporting services is not using the default website in IIS. It uses IP address : 192.168.1.20 and host header name is rpt2.compagny.com. When accessing the report manager at http://rpt2.compagny.com/reports$sql_2005 from another machine or on the machine where reporting services is installed  we get an error message.

Error Message : The attempt to connect to the report server failed.  Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.

The RSWebApplication.config file looks like the following :

<UI>

                  <CustomAuthenticationUI>

                        <loginUrl>/Pages/UILogon.aspx</loginUrl>

                  <UseSSL>False</UseSSL>

                  </CustomAuthenticationUI>

                  <ReportServerUrl>http://server name/ReportServer$sql_2005</ReportServerUrl>

      </UI>

The RSreportserver.config file looks like the following :

<UrlRoot>http://server name/ReportServer$SQL_2005</UrlRoot>

We already tried replacing the server name with the ip address in both the RSreportserver.config file and RSWebapplication.config file and it still does not work.

here is the logfile information :
