In Computer Management Dialog box, when you click on Services and Applications, you the following error dialog box:

Snap-In Failed to initialize
Name: Microsoft SQL Enterprise Manager
CLSID{xxxx€¦xxx} (where x is the actual CLSID)
Microsoft SQL Enterprise Manager was uninstalled. How do I get rid of this dialog box? Everything is working fine.

When you try to start Enterprise Manager of SQL server 2000, you get the following error message: Snap-in failed to initialize. Name: Not available CLSID: {A841B6C2-7577-11D0-BB1F-00A0C922E79C}. Earlier it was running <b>perfectly alright</b>. but for installing report service feature i<b> upgrade sql2000 with service pack 3</b>. <b>after running setupsql.exe . it was shwing message like you should now backup your master and msdb database since this installation has update their content.</b> please help

Hi, There is a tool you can install it to change the behavior of the Management Console, when you double-click on a table it will fire the Return All Rows command instead of the Properties command. I already saw this change but could not know where to get it from, any one of you know it? Thanks,

The Request Failed With HTTP Status 401: Unauthorized. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient)
I know that another thread dealt with this error message before but after trying all the suggestions of that thread without success, I thought my problem may be different. I have SSRS 2005 installed on my local machine (TAH112) and it worked flawlessly for months. Suddenly it stopped working today. The Reporting Services Configuration tool shows everything is normal (green buttons all the way except for encryption keys button that is blue and Execution Account button that is yellow). When I try to connect to the server with SSMS, I got the following error: TITLE: Connect to Server ------------------------------ Cannot connect to http://tah112/reportserver. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient) ------------------------------ BUTTONS: OK ------------------------------ I cannot connect to the reports from a browser either (locally or remotely). Hi, we are currently planning the development of a new SSB-Admin-Tool for SOA environments, which will allow dynamic configuration during MSBuild, register and monitor all services, dynamically configure routes (supporting gateway-servers and services registered on multiple servers for fail-safe). I would like to know if MS is currently working on something similar (the Service-Listing-Manager is buggy, old and seems to be dead on GDN) and what the community thinks.

Server Management Console Only??
Can the Server Management Studio Express be installed on a machine without SQL Server Express? I have a machine that I use daily that I need to access a remote instance but there is not a need (or space) to fully install SQL Server onto the local machine - all I need is the management tool. I tried installing it but the process errors out, saying a pre-requisite (MSXML6) isn't found. It refers me to a site with all the different SQL Server downloads. All I need is the management tool on this machine. Is there a way to do it? Tried loading "MOM" but it doesn't show up either Thanks Paul P

I get this error message when I try to connect to Reporting Services via the Management Studio. I can see my machine listed in the Server Name > Browse For More > Local Servers dialogue. But no luck, Ive tried: Servername: localhost Servername: DED1774 (the machine name) Servername: localhost/reportserver Servername: DED1774/reportserver Servername: http://ded1774/reportserver (from the rsreportserver.config file <UrlRoot>http://ded1774/reportserver</UrlRoot>) I've Googled the error message and found postings for solutions, but none of these helped. When I try to launch the SQL Server Configuration Manager MMC Snap in I receive the message: snap-in failed to initialise : SQL Server Configuration Manager {CA9F87272-31DF-41D2-975C-887D74903967} We are running SQL 2005 Std, SP2 on Win2003 Std Server SP2. We are running the default installation (no Instance named) I uninstalled the management tools (sqlrun_tools.msi), reinstalled them, reran the SP2 upgrade, but still no luck. It is a production server and I am trying to attach WSUS from another server, but apparently remote connections is blocked by default, which if I understand correctly I can fix in SQL Server Config Mgr. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going on my first vacation in 6 years tomorrow, and I would like to get this taken care off before.

SQL Express And Management Console Ctp Issue
So i installed sql express and the management console and have the sql service and browser running. I try to connect to my instance of sql express with the management console and it says it doenst allow remote connections. error: http://img95.imageshack.us/my.php?image=error28to.jpg What do i need to do to be able to use the management console? I was able to connect before but due to some bad advice think i stuffed up the whole thing and had to uninstall sql express and the management console. I re-installed them both but am now getting this error. what the heck is the deal with this? It shouldnt be this hard! This is in relation to an earlier issue i had trying to get to connect to a database from within visual web developer express and now i can connect to my sql express instance but cant get into the managment studio. :(

Connection Issue With Management Console
When i try to connect to Integration Services on a SQL 2005 Machine, it Gives me a Class not registeed. But i can connect to SQL 2008 Integration Services without a issue. I tried Restarting the 2008 machine and Also Reinstalling the SSIS Piece and also Reinstalled SQL 2008, but nothing seems to Help.

SQL Server 2005 Management Console
We installed SQL Server 2005 x64 on a server for our client here at our office. We can't connect to it using Enterprise Manager. I'm assuming we need to install the management console because of the differences in 2000 and 2005. The install is for a x64 and our workstations are x32. Do I need to get a media kit for a x32 because the x64 install won't work. Where can I get the install for the x32 Management console and will this work?

hi, I always get DR Watson fir Window NT when I test Operators under the Management console. I have created a new operators and when I go to the property to test the email and the pager notification, I get Dr Watson and Sql Server Enterprise disappear. When I browse for a database engine, SQL server 2005 management console displays machinenamesqlexpress in the local tab, BUT in the network tab only the machinename is displayed. When executing exec distribution..sp_browsereplcmds SQL Server 2005 Standard SP1 says: Msg 6513, Level 16, State 27, Procedure sp_browsereplcmds, Line 110Failed to initialize the Common Language Runtime (CLR) v2.0.50727 due to memory pressure. Please restart SQL server in Address Windowing Extensions (AWE) mode to use CLR integration features.I have two (nearly) identically machines (test has 2, prod has 4 CPUs), both 3071MB RAM, Win 2k3 Server SP1, both have no AWE running. On test-machine the procedure works fine, on production in doesn't. I checked performance. Test machine has about 180MB available memory, production about 160MB (nearly constant). Thread count for process sqlservr is constant and similar at about 65. Any idea why it runs on test but not on production machine? Cheers,

This is a problem that never get solved, sometime I can use other way to avoid it, but havn't found a solution yet, i hope I can get some more idea here. I am using SQL 2005, when I run select * into #import1 from OpenRowSet('microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0','Excel 8.0;hdr=yes;database=\ws8webjeff2.xls', 'select * from [jeff2$]') I get Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0" for linked server "(null)". when I try to compile a SP with that statement in it, I get the same error, like create stored procedure test as begin select * into #import1 from OpenRowSet('microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0','Excel 8.0;hdr=yes;database=\ws8webjeff2.xls', 'select * from [jeff2$]') end so it seems the error may not relate to the real file, since at the compile stage, it should not check the real file? On my live db, after I restart the SQL service, the statement will work, after a while, one or several days, I get the same error again. I can not restart my live db quite often for sure, so now I have another backup db server, I need run the statement on the backup server and then read the data from there. I have the same problem at two places, both use SQL 2005. So far there are three questions 1, why it works after restart, but only last for a while? something about memory? since the backup db seldom need restart and work fine after many days. 2, why it gives error in compile stage? 3, why two dbs in different Enviroment has the same problem The most answer I have gathered so far is permission issue, true I got similar error if the import file is located in a place which SQL has no right to access. But in this case, it should not be. Any other idea or suggestion? thanks

I am looking for a way to script out all tables within a SQL Server 2005 database using VB.NET. I am writing a backup utility and have been able to do stored procedures, the data within the tables, but am now stuck on scripting out the tables with their primary keys, indexes, etc. Sure, I could hard-code some stuff like "CREATE TABLE dbo" & strTable, but I am pretty sure there is a way to do it within VB.NET using SMO. So, any help that someone could offer is greatly appreciated. Thanks

This Is Related To Microsoft Operations Management
We would like to use MOM to monitor every problem in SQL Server. I was trying to find all the MOM rules corresponding to severity 17 to severity 25 errors. But there are a lot of the errors don't have the matching MOM rules, I wonder if someone can help me or direct me to the proper place. For example, error 8653, severity 17. Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio ExpressI have restored the database into it with 100tables and stored procedures.I have also created the new database in it.But,i don't know how to add the existing database in to Visual Studio.Net 2005 .I m using ASP.Net.Where are the database stored ?? Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo Backup And Restore Classes
Hi, Hopefully someone out there will be able to help me with this question. I'm trying to setup my C# program to use the Backup and Restore classes to perform backups and restores on an SQL Express 2005 database. From the documentation I've read... it seems that when you go to restore the database, it's a good idea to backup the current transaction log. But when I do this using the Backup.SqlBackup method I get an error saying that no database backup is detected so a log backup can't occur. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the fact that I moved my backup files from the default SQL Express/Server Backup folder to a different location. Shouldn't it know I've already performed a backup though? And does anyone know how to set a parameter to backup to a different file location than the default? I've been doing a backup then a file move. Works the same, but it would be nice to have everything together in the Backup object. Thanks!

The Machine Could Not Be Found (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient)
We are getting this error when we try and log on to a Reporting Services connection Via SQL Server Management Studio on a client Machine. It works fine if we are on the Server. We can logon to the Database Engine just fine (from the Client) and the Web version of the Report manager Works fine too. We have determined that The users who are in the "BuiltinAdministrators" Group can Connect to the Report Server from a client machine but the users that we are trying to fix are not in that Group, But they are in a Group that we added to the SQL Security. We have that group setup like the Admin group, but we still can't get them to Connect

Hi all, I need your help on the following: I can't connect to Reporting Services from SQL Server Management Studio. I get the following error message: "No connection can be made with SERVER. Additional information: Error at request with HTTP-Status 400: Bad Request (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient)" What is wrong??
