I am creating a subscription to deliver reports via email on SSRS. One of the problems I am having is I can't add groups to the To: or Cc: fields for report distribution. I am able to add individual user email which works fine but it will be a lot of emails to add if I have to go that route. So how do you add groups to report subscriptions?
View 2 RepliesI have a field on my report that uses the following expression to determine the commission amount for each order line. It works correctly to get the commission amount for each line, however, I need to get a total of the commission amount for each Salesperson.
My report is grouped in the following manner:
Salesperson, Type of Sale, Invoice Number, then the detail invoice line items (where the formula below reside). How can I get the totals for the Salesperson and the Type of Sale?

It works fine for Internal email id's, external email id's doesn't work.
Any body knows what configuration changes we need to do.

I am running RS 2012 installation and everything worked until few days ago. Now the subscriptions would not even run. When I configure new ones, after the time passes, there is not error message, not even a sign it ran.

I've Created Local Smtp to use gmailid for Subscription of SSRS Report by Email as we don't have an Exchange Server.

Studied few blogs that related it to agent service running under local system account, on my machine it was running on NT/NetworkService change it to Administrator of local Machine. Did same change for Database Engine of Service of SQL Instance.
FYI- My Machine is not in Domain, so used local administrator for giving rights to service mentioned above.

PS: Local SMTP is working, i.e. i am able to receive email if i place an email.text file in C:inetpubmailrootpickup
We have this sporadic problem where when we go in to save an edit on a SSRS report subscription, it gives us a duplicate job number error. When I look at the Jobs in the Agent, there are duplicates, so I need to manually delete both duplicate jobs, then the subscription save will work. If we delete just 1 of the jobs, the issue seems to clear for a while, but then reoccurs. This has happened to us on multiple reports, but not consistently. The subscriptions look fine.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Daily Invoice Report that has subscriptions for all customers and is run every night. The report has parameters of @date & @Customer. We had issues with invoices not being sent due to the Owner on the reports was disabled in Active Directory. We do not know how many reports did not get sent out so I am tasked with creating a script to rerun the reports for each day in August. I have queried the subscriptions, but need to figure out how to rerun the reports using the existing parameters set in the subscription, increment the report parameter date, and execute the emailing of the report.
Here is my query that gives me all the subscription information, but how do I rerun the job for all subscriptions for each date in August?

Is there a way to restrict the subscriptions to use Shared Schedule only? We want to make sure that we manage the schedules and they'll only run the subscriptions during the off peak hours.

I have an SSRS report with parameters for Created On Start and Created On End. Users run this manually and choose the date range to display records for.
I would like to set up two different subscriptions
1) to send weekly on Monday morning for "last weeks" records and
2) to send monthly to send "last month's" records.
Is it possible to have a custom start date parameter on a report? I would like to have a cumulative daily report for the week, Friday to Thursday. The final daily to run on the Friday, then the next week begins. I have a enddate, which is today()-1 (for previous day); I need a start date to be variable.
In other words,
On a Monday, report pulls data from last Friday to Sunday;
On a Tuseday, report pulls data from last Friday to Monday,
On a Wednesday, report pulls data from Friday to Tuesday, etc,
until on Friday, the report pulls data from last Friday to Thursday.
I have an issue with a data driven subscription under SSRS 2008R2 in which users are emailed a message based on a condition. For the last two months the majority of the users were mailed the message successfully but this month two users failed to get their message. I checked the selected email address in our mail system and they seemed to be correct. But running these two address (unlike the others which ran sucssfully) caused an error and they did not receive their message.
The error in the SSRS log read:

In the Project Web Access (PWA 2010), I have created Report Library which contains .rdl files --> Manage Subscription --> Add Subscription --> Email subscription is missing
Did i missed out some thing but other email functionalities like notifications, Approval workflow are working fine so no issue with SMTP.

To do so i can add my self either in To or CC.
I don't want multiple mails in my inbox as sent mails have excel as attachment, but I want notification for all the mails sent.
How to achieve by using SSRS. How we can "quick run" report within the subscription menu to ensure report was set up correctly during creation. Is there any way to generate sample subscriped report without waiting for scheduled time.

I am trying to build a report using SSRS.I need to retrieve a distinct value from my initial query and place this in the header or group row.The detail lines are hidden but may be expanded(shown).I then have another group row in which I require the sum of all distinct values from my previous group row.To explain pictorially I have the following:
-Scroll right to see the pink squares.Note that the total in the pink square is the sum of the individual var3 values distinct so 10 even when var3 =4 in euro currency.
-I have tried using sum(var5) but this will give the incorrect value as it sums all detail lines not just the distinct values.
-I have tried using another dataset but when referenced the grouping behaviour expected is non existent so where I expect 40 I get 80 i.e. sum disregarding values of var1 and var2 although these are the grouping variables.
-I need it to be dynamic so I am unable to use IIF(...).
If I could get var4 or var6 to be the totals I require I could work with that.I have also tried the following custom code:

I have spent the entire afternoon playing around with this and searching Google, but as yet, I have been unable to get the matrix to display more than 1 record per pallet. Each of the pallets below have multiple adjustment records, yet the report will only display the first one...
If I assign the dataset to a table, it displays as expected.
I have a ssrs report with Name, phone ,state and city as columns. I have check box as one of my parameter(optional). If user checks that checkbox then it should group by state, if checkbox is left blank no need to do any grouping. How can i do this in ssrs 2012.

instance_id, area, values
101 North 1
102 North 2
103 East 2
104 East 2
I would like to report on Area, and count of rows with different Values types, for example:
Area Value - 1, Value - 2, Value - 3
North 1 1 0
East 0 2 0
I am not sure what the technical term is for such report, but I can group by Area column, and but its aggregating counts on different Value types that I am having difficulty in performing in SSRS.
I have a requirement to display the total of a Group after subtracting a specific value from the same Group.
Example: Say the below data is grouped on a particular column
Group Values Month
Jan-15 Feb-15 Mar-15
A 10 20 30
B 5 10 25
C 1 2 3
D 5 10 15
Total 11 22 33
Formula is : Sum(A+C+D)- Sum(B)
What is the best way to Group the above scenario from SSRS level and display the result as shown above. I am able to display all the values except the last total row where am displaying the complete total i.e. 21 42 73.
How do I dynamically subtract the values for row B which is one of the group values.
I have created a custom library(CodeLibrary) which internally references the dlls Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client and Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.
I added this custom Dll codelibrary.dll to my SSRS report. and the expression of one of the field as
=codelibrary.codefunction.GetValue(1000)
codefunction is the class and GetValue is the method.
When I preview the report, I get the error "Error while loading code module:
'CodeLibrary,Version=1.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null'. Could not load file or assembly 'CodeLibrary,Version1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

I have tested the custom library with a WPF application and it works fine.
I am not able to figure out what is causing this error.
I added the row group to show up as the tree view in the left side of the report. But I need it to display the records in the report detail for just that group value for the records when I clicked the group value from the tree view list.
Currently, it‘s not doing that. It takes me to that page where the group value is listed but it lists all other records too (which I don't want).
We have an existing SSRS server, and have just created a new child domain. We'll be migrating users from the parent to the child, and want to add the users of that new domain with access to SSRS. In the parent domain they are able to access, but after migration with the child domain account, they cannot.
I have added the group CHILDDomain Users with a system user role on SSRS, and PARENTDomain Users was already there.
Is there any additional step I should/could take to get this active?
I'll go to a dataset, open up the query designer, add a new parameter, then refresh the fields, but the parameter won't be added as a report parameter. If I go to the dataset properties under the list of parameters, the value in the dropdown will be blank. However, sometimes this will automatically add.
Is this a bug in Visual Studio? How do I get around this?
