Reporting Services :: Display Only Certain Values In Pie And Graph Chart

Sep 3, 2015

I have a table that contains some data.

LabelName
LabelValue

TotalForRetire
10337

dummy1
0

TotalForRelatives
5850

dummy2
0

TotalForDisability
7337

TotalForOrange
23

I have a pie chart and a bar chart.

In the pie chart I want to plot only TotalForRetire and TotalForDisability and TotalForOrange

In the bar chart I want to plot only TotalForRetire,dummy1,TotalForRelatives.

Also, here I want the horizontal axis not to show the label  for dummy1 as the value is 0. How can i do that for each chart?

Reporting Services :: RDLC Report - Hide Labels In Graph Chart

Oct 25, 2015

I developed a rdlc report. I have a graph chart. Sometimes the value of a label can =0. If the value =0 I want to hide the labelname.  However, I also have dummy values =0. This is so that I can have spaces between the bars. The dummy values labels isn't shown in the graph. This works great. I need to add to the expression that if the name of the label isn't dummy but the value =0 to hide the labelname.

The data from sql:

Expression in graph under chart data->category groups->category group properties->label:
=Microsoft.VisualBasic.Interaction.SWITCH(Fields!LabelName.Value = "aTotalForRetire", "Retirement", Fields!LabelName.Value = "cTotalForRelatives", "Relatives", Fields!LabelName.Value = "eTotalForDisability",
"Disability")

The result is below. I want to hide the label relatives as in this example the value=0. It will not always be the case. How can I do that?

Reporting Services :: Chart - Group Values Depending On Date Range?

May 20, 2015

Currently I report our monthly fees broken down into 4 weeks per month by using 4 separate datasets with the following code

SELECT
SUM(Practice.ibvSalesByJob.JobBilledExVAT) AS Sum_JobBilledExVAT
FROM
Practice.ibvSalesByJob
INNER JOIN Practice.idvJobType

[Code] ....

The second dataset then has the date code changed to

AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] >= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/08/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:01'
AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] <= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/16/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:00'

The third

AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] >= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/16/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:01'
AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] <= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/23/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:00'

The fourth

AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] >= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/23/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:01'

Now I was hoping so that I could report the above data in one chart and do an expression on the category and group the dates so I would just have one dataset like below but four separate columns saying Week 1, 2 3 and 4 and then the sum filtered in line.

SELECT
SUM(Practice.ibvSalesByJob.JobBilledExVAT) AS Sum_JobBilledExVAT
FROM
Practice.ibvSalesByJob
INNER JOIN Practice.idvJobType

[Code] ....

If I could somehow with SQL tie in all 4 separate datasets and display them as Week 1, 2, 3 and 4 underneath the dataset and selectable. An even simpler solution maybe just understanding how charts work, I can get it so I display the 4 separate weeks in the chart however I can't get the bottom line (Category Group) to display Week 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Reporting Services :: SSRS - Making Smooth Area Chart Values Transparent

Jul 14, 2015

Am using SQL Server 2012 and Visual Studio 2010.

The above chart has three Values in it (slightly late in pink, rather late in hot pink and very late in red). Because of the ordering of these values the red very late values can't be seen. When I shuffle the order around slightly they are indeed there:

...This report runs dynamically for one of a number of activities the user can select, as such I have no way of knowing which of these series will be at the lower end of the scale and which will be at the higher end. Is it possible to set the Values/Series to be transparent so I can be assured that all will be visible to the user at runtime?

Display Null Values As 0 On Line Chart

May 16, 2008

I have a report I'm writing and have got a problem that has stumped me.

The data the report is based in is in this format:

Date Type

1/1/08 A

1/3/08 B

3/1/08 C

3/5/08 B

3/10/08 A

3/12/08 C

3/20/08 A

Management wants a report showing a line chart that summarizes the data by Month and by Type. So, there are 2 series depending on the Type and data values are based on the count of each Type. So, in the example above the x-axis group would be month, the values would be count(Type) and there would be 2 series €“ Series 1. A, B and Series 2. C

I€™ve defined the x-axis to be Month(Fields!DateOccured.Value). However, they want the x-axis to show every month for the entire year not just what is in the database. So, I defined the x-axis to have a scale of 1 to 12 and the major interval is set to 1. This displays 1 through 12 on the x-axis.

The problem is when there is no data (null) for a particular month. Instead of showing 0, the line chart does not plot anything and the line is drawn to the next displayed point. So, for example on the data above the line chart would plot:

January

Series 1 €“ Qty. 2 Series 2 €“ Qty. 0

February

Null

March

Series 1 €“ Qty. 3 Series 2 €“ Qty. 2

The line chart would draw a line from January to March skipping February. I need to display the null values as 0 and not null indicating no occurrences for the month rather than no data present.

Thanks!

Graph(Chart) Showing Data

Apr 28, 2006

Hello

I am making the switch from using MSACCESS to do required reporting to using Reporting Services to accomplish the same tasks.

A requirment I have is that whenever a graph (chart) is created, it contain the underlying data in a connected and aligned data table. MSACCESS allows this by selecting the chart options and then "show data table".

Is this ability included in Reporting Services in MS Visual Studio 2003 .NET? If so, how can I enable it? I currently can only enable the legend.

Currently we are using:

SQL Server 2000 (sp3a)
Reporting Services (sp2)
Visual Studio .NET 2003

Thanks for any and all help.

Problem With A Chart In Reporting Services

Mar 10, 2008

I am trying to display a chart from a data source that runs a stored procedure. The data dislays fine in the dataset tab, however, when I try to preview the report I get the following message:

'An error occurred during local report processing. The definition of the report 'reportname' is invalid. An internal error occured on the report server. See the error log for more details'.

I have looked at the error logs, but they do not help. I am thinking that my stored procedure is pushing a limit of the chart report. If I display the same data in a table, it displays fine, it is only in a chart. As I stated, the data is displaying in the dataset grid.

Can anyone give me an idea as to what my problem might be? I have other charts that run fine, but not using a stored procedure like the one below where I am performing multiple selects.

Below is the stored procedure:

XYZ 2 50 10 40 100

RMM 4 40 20 40 300

I have the above output. When I try to input this as a dataset to a pie chart I don't get the data lables for two slices of the pie chart. Only one slice will show the values when showing data label option is enabled.

For the Pie chart, I have added Soft, Hard and Primary as Values. I haven't added a Category group or a Series group. Why isn't this showing the data labels for the other slices?

Do I need to transform the dataset so that it has a category and the value like below?

XYZ,   2, Soft  50
XYZ ,  2, Hard, 10
XYZ,   2, Primary, 40

Will this work since it has a define category that I could insert for the chart.

I have been trying to do this , however there is huge problem of scaling:

The line should be finished at all the completed ID's SUM which is the lowest stack of the Bar.

However , the bar gets stretched to all of the space.

I have tried to place it into Tab lix, But it doesn't work.
