Why this won't work. POST_DT is nvarchar(50). I know it should be datetime but, I have no control over it. That's why I'm creating a temp table. But, I want to only insert the most recent invoice. There is code to create test data at the end.
I've got a field I'm trying to convert into a date format as it currently sits as a text field. The date setup is of the format DD/MM/YYYY. Some of the fields are NULL, however for the sake of filling in gaps I've just set the nulls to '01-01-1905'.
I've tried to use CAST to change the data into a readable format for SQL Server however I tend to get one of two messages:
Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string.
So I have to build dynamic T-SQL because of a date parameter that will be provided. The Date Parameter will be provided in SSRS in normal MM/DD/CCYY format. So how do I then convert that date to my Oracle format
For this id: 0793319, my beginning date is 2011-09-06
108203492014-09-022015-06-30 208203492013-09-032014-09-01 308203492012-09-042013-09-02 408203492011-12-122012-07-03--not a continuous date range
For this id: 0793319, my beginning date is 2012-09-04
For this id: 0820349, my beginning date is 2014-09-02
To find continuous date, you look at the beginning date in row 1 and end date in row 2, then if no break in dates, row 2 beginning date to row 3 end date, if no break continue until last date There could multiple dates up to 12 which I have to check for "no break" in dates, if break, display beginning date of last continuous date.
HiI am using SQL 2005, VB 2005I am trying to insert a record using parameters using the following code as per MotLey suggestion and it works finestring insertSQL; insertSQL = "INSERT INTO Issue(ProjectID, TypeofEntryID, PriorityID ,Title, Area) VALUES (@ProjectID, @TypeofEntryID, @PriorityID ,@Title, @Area)"; cmdInsert SqlCommand; cmdInsert=new SqlCommand(insertSQL,conn); cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("@ProjectID",SqlDbType.Varchar).Value=ProjectID.Text; My query is how to detail with dates my previous code wasinsertSQL += "convert(datetime,'" + DateTime.Now.ToString("dd/MM/yy") + "',3), '";I tried the code below but the record doesn't save?string date = DateTime.Now.ToString("dd/MM/yy"); insertSQL = "INSERT INTO WorkFlow(IssueID, TaskID, TaskDone, Date ,StaffID) VALUES (@IDIssue, @IDTask, @TaskDone, convert(DateTime,@Date,3),@IDStaff)"; cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("IDIssue", SqlDbType.Int).Value = IDIssue.ToString();cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("IDTask",SqlDbType.Int).Value = IDTask.Text;cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("TaskDone",SqlDbType.VarChar).Value = TaskDoneTxtbox.Text;cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("Date",SqlDbType.DateTime).Value = date;cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("IDStaff",SqlDbType.Int).Value = IDStaff.Text;Could someone point to me in the right direction? Thanks in advance
Hello, Can anyone tell me, how to convert an rtf string to text string using a function in SQL Server? I got a table in SQL Server database with field datatype text(16), which holds an rtf. I've to extract it as a text using a function. thank you,
Our sql server 2005 database is receiving data from a third part program over which we have no control. We need to be able to automatically convert data entered in one column of one table to UPPER case only.
I've below value in a column with data type - TEXT
QU 221025U2V/AN G-DT DL A 5 1A- 11,5,SF,230,30162,LZ,2,118,0,0,10170,25,06
This text value has some special characters in it. and I could not paste the exact value as this text box is not allowing me to do so. So, for reference I've attached a screenshot (Capture.png) of the value.
I want to fetch last two values from this text i.e. 25 and 06. (It can be anything like 56R,06T but will be the last two values separated by comma)...
I have 2 tables, one is table A which stores Resources Assign to work for a certain period. The structure is as below
Name StartDate EndDate Tan 2015-04-01 08:30:00.000 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 Max 2015-04-01 08:30:00.000 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 Alan 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 2015-04-02 00:30:00.000
The table B stores the item process time. The structure is as below
Item ProcessStartDate ProcessEndDate V 2015-04-01 09:30:10.000 2015-04-01 09:34:45.000 Q 2015-04-01 10:39:01.000 2015-04-01 10:41:11.000 W 2015-04-01 11:44:00.000 2015-04-01 11:46:25.000 A 2015-04-01 16:40:10.000 2015-04-01 16:42:45.000 B 2015-04-01 16:43:01.000 2015-04-01 16:45:11.000 C 2015-04-01 16:47:00.000 2015-04-01 16:49:25.000
I need to select the item which process in 2015-04-01 16:40:00 and 2015-04-01 17:30:00. Beside that I need to know how many resource is assigned to process the item in that period of time. I only has the start date is 2015-04-01 16:40:00 and end date is 2015-04-01 17:30:00. How I can select the data from both tables. There is no need for JOIN, just seperate selections.
Another item process time is in 2015-04-01 10:00:00 and 2015-04-04 11:50:59.
The result expected is
Name StartDate EndDate Alan 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 2015-04-02 00:30:00.000
Item ProcessStartDate ProcessEndDate A 2015-04-01 16:30:10.000 2015-04-01 16:32:45.000 B 2015-04-01 16:33:01.000 2015-04-01 16:35:11.000 C 2015-04-01 16:37:00.000 2015-04-02 16:39:25.000
Scenario 2 expected result
Name StartDate EndDate Tan 2015-04-01 08:30:00.000 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 Max 2015-04-01 08:30:00.000 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000
I am running SQL 2008 R2. I have SQL Full-Text Search installed (part of a standard Automated build) - but disabled and switched-off as the applications don't need it. However as a result I get SQL Server error 9954:
SQL Server failed to communicate with filter daemon launch service (Windows error: Windows Error: hr = 0x80070422(failed to retrieve text for this error)). Full-Text filter daemon process failed to start. Full-text search functionality will not be available.
appear in the event / error logs everytime I start SQL server. Is it possible to suppress this error (other than by starting the SQL Full-text service) ...
I need to open and read a text file using C#. Once I have read all of the values from the text file, I will need to insert some of those values into a SQL Server database table. One of the values read from the text file will be a date in the format YearMonthDay. For example: 20070601 So my problem is that I don't know how to convert this date into the date format that is expected for a SQL server datetime value. Can someone help me out. How do I do this?
In VBA, CLng(Now) will return the integer portion of a date CLng(Now) returns 41928, CDate(41928) then returns 10/16/2014. Is there something equivalent in SQL Server that will allow me to convert an integer value to a date?
In short, how can I convert a 100 year date to Gregorian (any format)?
I'm creating Indexed view by JOINING multiple tables and trying to create FULL TEXT search index. Unique column is generated by concatenating to ID columns from different table. I can successfully able to create unique index however when trying to create FULLTEXT INDEX getting below error.
"A full-text search key must be a unique, non-nullable, single-column index which is not offline, is not defined on a non-deterministic or imprecise nonpersisted computed column, does not have a filter, and has maximum size of 900 bytes. Choose another index for the full-text key."
The message clearly says the column should be single-column index, non-deterministic.
I am searching for the key word 'Platform Customer Support' using full text search. My code is as below
Set @KeywordSearch = 'Platform Customer Support'
Select AA, BB, CC, DD from SM9..TableName A Right Outer Join SM9_Experiment..TableName C On A.IncdTouchedGSF like '%' + C.SM9GroupName + '%' Where ( Contains(A.[Description], @KeyWordSearch) And A.OpenTime Between @StartDate and @EndDate And C.Classification = @GroupNameClassification )
The code is throwing:
Msg 7630, Level 15, State 3, Line 46 Syntax error near 'Customer' in the full-text search condition 'Platform Customer Support.
We have a legacy database that have hundreds of stored procedures.
The previous programmar uses a string like servername.databasename.dbo.tablename in the stored procedures. We now have migrated the database to a new server. The old server is either needed to be replaced by the new server name, or remove it.
I don't know why he used servername as part of the fully qualified name, we don't use linked servers. So I think better removing the servername in all the stored procedures.
I know I can do a generate script, and replace the text and then use alter procedure to recreate all the stored procedures. But since hundreds of them, is there a programmatically way to replace them?
I have a query below which filters detail field in the #TempLogins table. The details field is a text field which contains many types of text strings, some containing urls that have parts like "ResultID=5" which is what is contained in the ResultIDSearch and ResultSetIDSearch fields. The records with entries like "ResultID=5" are the ones I'm trying to filter for.
The problem I have is that the query takes way too long to run. The TempLogin table has around 200 K records and the TempSearch table has around 80 K records.
select * from #TempLogins a where exists (select 1 from #TempSearch t1 where a.detail like '%' + t1.ResultIDSearch + '%' or a.detail like '%' + t1.ResultSetIDSearch + '%')
The tables share the common columns id and deptno. To get the above result, the emp1.edate must be between emp.sdate and emp.edate.
If that condition is met, we need to retrieve the refid and refid1 values corresponding to the lowest edate as last_refid and last_refid1. Then we need the refid and refid1 values corresponding to the emp1.edate between emp.stdate and emp.edate to be retrieved as the current_refid and current_ refid1.
select a.id,a.deptno,a.locid,b.refid,b.refid1 from emp b
I am trying to use get date function, I want dates of my column in between, first of this month and first of the previous month, at this moment the expected result would be: (09/01/2015 and 10/01/2015)..
Seems like it would involve datediff and dateadd both...
