Below. I have also pasted the current result of this query and the desired result.
Query can be updated to get the desired result as given below?
Query: Select c.OTH_PAYER_ID, c.PAID_DATE, f.GROUP_CODE, f.REASON_CODE, f.ADJUSTMENT_AMOUNT From MMIT_CLAIM_ITEM b, mmit_tpl c , mmit_attachment_link d, MMIT_TPL_GROUP_RSN_ADJ f where b.CLAIM_ICN_NU = d.CLAIM_ICN and b.CLAIM_ITEM_LINE_NU = d.CLAIM_LINE_NUM and c.TPL_TS = d.TPL_TS and f.TPL_TS = c.TPL_TS and b.CLAIM_ICN_NU = '123456788444'
Current Result which I am getting with this query
OTH_PAYER_ID PAID_DATE GROUP_CODE REASON_CODE ADJUSTMENT_AMOUNT 5501 07/13/2015 CO 11 23.87 5501 07/13/2015 PR 12 3.76 5501 07/13/2015 OT 32 33.45 2032 07/14/2015 CO 12 23.87 2032 07/14/2015 OT 14 43.01
Desired/Expected Result for which I need updated query
Part 1: When there is ~ (tilde) and has any value after it then it goes into a new row and duplicating the other columns like the facility in the screenshot attached and new column having the sequence.
Part 2: When there is ^ (Caret) its a new column irrespective of a value present or not
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Equipment]( [EQU] [VARCHAR](50) NOT NULL, [Notes] [TEXT] NULL, [Facility] [VARCHAR](50) NULL) INSERT INTO [dbo].[Equipment] ([EQU] ,[Notes] ,[Facility]) SELECT '1001','BET I^BOBBETT,DAN^1.0^REGULAR^22.09^22.090~BET II^^^REGULAR^23.56^0~','USA' union SELECT '998','BET I^JONES, ALANA^0.50^REGULAR^22.09^11.0450~BET II^^^REGULAR^23.56^0~','Canada' UNION select '55','BET I^SLADE,ADAM F.^1.5^REGULAR^27.65^41.475~','USA' SELECT * FROM dbo.Equipment
I created the table in excel and attached the screenshot for a clear picture as to what is required. I use text to Columns in excel to achieve this not sure if there is anything similar in sql.
I have a single table that consist of 4 columns. Entity, ParamName, ParamsValue and ParamiValue. This table stores normalized Late Fee related parameters for apartments. The Entity field contains a code that identifies the apartment complex. The ParamName in a textual field that contains the name of the parameter that the other 2 fields define the value for; ParamsValue and ParamiValue. If the Late Fee parameter (as named in ParamName is something numerical then the value for that parameter can be found in ParamiValue else its in ParamsValue.
I don't know if 'Pivot' is the correct term to use for describing what I am trying to do because I've looked at the Pivot examples and I don't see how that will work for this. Using the Table and data as provided below, how would I construct a query so that I get 1 row per Entity in which the columns are the ParamsValue or ParamiValue for the ParamName listed in the column header (for the query)?
Below is the DDL to create the table and populate it.
USE [DBA_UTIL] CREATE TABLE [dbo].[PARAMEXAMPLE]( [Entity] [varchar](16) NULL,
I am looking to transpose a row into multiple columns. I have a member's data who might be associated with multiple labs for that one member. Instead of having multiple records for that member, I would like to have one record per member with multiple rows for the lab data.
Hi Friends,How to transpose the columns into rowsi want to convert the table which looks like thisID Name HomePhone WorkPhone Email1 test1 678364 643733 Join Bytes!2 test2 678344 643553 Join Bytes!to a table which should look like thisID Name Device1 test1 6783641 test1 6437331 test1 Join Bytes!2 test2 6783442 test2 6435532 test2 Join Bytes!Thanks in AdvanceArunkumar
I have a table like the followingField1 Field2 Field3------ ------- ------x1 y1 z1x1 y2 z2x1 y3 z3x1 y4 z4x2 y1 z5x2 y2 z6x2 y3 z7x2 y4 z8x3 y1 z9............and so onI want to create a view with x1, x2, x3.. as uniquerecords; y1, y2, y3.... as fields; and z1, z2, z3.... as the valuesWhen I doCREATE VIEW xyz (y1, y2, y3, y4) ASSELECT field1 ,( SELECT field3 FROM table WHERE field2 = 'y1'),( SELECT field3 .....FROM tableI get the error that the sql query creates duplicate values. I think Imay have to do a join using distinct values of field1. I was lookingfor some guidance with the join.Thanks for your help in advance(using SQLSERVER 2000)
there can be more than one Parentobject so I want to concatenate them so I have them on one line
901 Joe Dow 901 Jane Dow
I want one line - | 901 | Joe Dow, Jane Dow
I found something similar as below but I'm getting dups like
901 |Joe Dow , Joe Dow 901 | Jane Dow, Jane Dow
DECLARE @Delimiter VARCHAR(10) = ' '; -- this is the delimiter we will use when we concatenate the values SELECT DISTINCT ParentObject, (SELECT STUFF( (SELECT @Delimiter + s1.[View As] FROM Signatures s2
The query Im running so far is wrong, but here it is...
SELECT t.FromUserID, t.ToUserID, t.msg, u.UserName AS UserFrom, u.GroupID AS FromGroup, u2.UserName AS UserTo, u2.GroupID AS ToGroup FROM tmp_Messages t LEFT JOIN (SELECT UserID, GroupID, UserName FROM tmp_users WHERE GroupID = 3) u
im missing the details of one of the users.I know what the problem is, I just cant figure out how to get this working without using temp tables, which I cant do in the production version.
how to use like operator select statement to retrieve multiple column names in sql server DB...for ex: I have a table say employees where in I want to get all column names like emp_,acc_ etc using '%' And what is this below query used for?
SELECT column_name as 'Column Name', data_type as 'Data Type', character_maximum_length as 'Max Length' FROM information_schema.columns WHERE table_name = 'tblUsers'
I've got a piece of code that returns 53 records when using just the SELECT section. When I change it to INSERT INTO ..... SELECT it only inserts 39 records into the receiving table. There are no keys/contraints/indices or anything else on the receiving table (it's just a dumping ground for some data that will be processed later).
The code for creating the table is here:- USE [CDSExtractInpatients6.2] GO /****** Object: Table [dbo].[CDS_Inpatients_CDS_Feeds_Import] Script Date: 22/05/2015 15:54:15 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO
I know most of the date fields are being created as varchar on here, but this is something I inherited and the SELECT is outputting the dates as text.Don't know if it makes any difference, but the server is running SQL2008.
I'm able to successfully import data in a tab-delimited .txt file using the following statement.
BULK INSERT ImportProjectDates FROM "C: mpImportProjectDates.txt" WITH (FIRSTROW=2,FIELDTERMINATOR = ' ', ROWTERMINATOR = '')
However, in order to import the text file, I had to add columns to the text file to match the columns that exist in the table. The original file is an export out of another database and contains all but 5 columns from my db.
How would I control which column BULK INSERT actually imports when working with a .txt file? I've tried using a FORMAT FILE, however I kept getting errors which I tracked down to being a case of not using it with a .txt file.
Yes, I could have the DBA add in the missing columns to the query from the other DB to create the columns, however I'd like to know a little bit more about this overall.
I have multiple databases in the server and all my databases have tables: stdVersions, stdChangeLog. The stdVersions table have field called DatabaseVersion which stored the version of the database. The stdChangeLog table have a field called ChangedOn which stored the date of any change made in the database.
I need to write a query/stored procedure/function that will return all the database names, version and the date changed on. The results should look something like this:
I'm using MS SQL Server 2008 and I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to identify what tables / columns contain specific records.
In the example below information generated for the end user, so the column headers (Customer ID, Customer, Address, Phone, Email, Account Balance, Currency) are not necessarily the field names from the relevant tables, they are simply more identifiable headers for the user.
Customer ID CustomerAddress Phone Email Account Balance Currency js0001 John Smith123 Nowhere Street555-123-456 email@example.com USD jd2345 Jane Doe 61a Down the road087-963258 jdoe@downthe road.com-2108 GBP mx9999 Mr X Whoknowsville 147-852369 firstname.lastname@example.org EUR
In reality the column headers may be called eg (CustID, CustName, CustAdr, CustPh, CustMail, CustACBal, Currency).
As I am not the generator of this report, I would like to know whether or not it is possible to identify the field names and / or what tables they exist in, if I were to used the report info to search for it. For example, could I perhaps find out the field name and table for "jd2345" or for "email@example.com", because the Customer ID or Email may not be what the actual fields are called.
I'm not a DB admin and I don't have rights to do a stored procedure on the server. I'm guessing what I want is not so simple to do, but is it possible to do via a query?
I have 3 tables, a supplier table, a types table and a relationship table between the two..I want to build a query that put the different types in columns, and use a Boolean value to identify if the supplier supplies that type.
