Unable To Connect To Reporting Services

Hi all,

I am new to reporting services.  I have created a report project in SQL Server BIDS.  The datasource is SQL Server.  I was able to see the preview of the report and could build and deploy the report.  But when I try to run the report, it gives me error.  So I tried connecting to Reporting Services through SQL Server Management Studio.

There I am unable to connect to the Reporting Services.
I am getting a very long error message.  Giving below few lines which made sense to me.

Client found response content type of text/html; charset=utf-8, but expected text/xml.

Parse Error Message : An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path c:Inetpubwwwrootweb.config is denied

I have given full rights to ASPNET, AuthenticatedUsers.

Pl help to resolve this issue.

Thanks,
Tejaswini

Unable To Configure SQL 2K5 Reporting Services On IIS 5

hi all,
im attempting to configure my SQL Server 2005 reporting services on my development machine that is running IIS 5 on Windows 2000.

I installed the reporting services and went through the configuration application.  everything went fine.  the only item with a red x is the web services account - i read on several pages that within iis 5 you can't specify this and it always runs as the ASP.NET account.

Every time i go to my Report Manager site i get the following error : The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.

i have tried with several differnet admin accounts and none of them work.
when i go to the actual Reporting server site i get this error :
ACCESS TO THE PATH : 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.3Reporting ServicesReportServerRSReportServer.config'  IS DENIED.

i have given almost everyone in the world access to this file through windows security but to no avail.

Any ideas on what to try?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Unable To Execute Job Inside Sproc From Reporting Services
We have a request to build a report based on user input from an excel spreadsheet.  We have a SSIS package that imports the data from Excel.  This is run by a sql server agent job.  Our stored procedure executes this job and runs this whole process just fine but when we execute the stored procedure from reporting services we get errors.  Has anyone done this type of thing before and do you have any working solutions for how to get this reporting methodology to function?

Thanks!

Unable To Configure Reporting Services With Vista/IIS7
I am trying to configure a reporting server on my laptop at work.  This laptop is running Vista and IIS 7.  When I install reporting services, the option for "Install the default configuration" is disabled (greyed out) during setup.  The install is successful, but then when I try to connect in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager, I get an unhandled exception ("A WMI error has occurred an no additional error information is available.").  If I continue, this error continues to crop up as I attempt to configure the Report Server.  When I attempt to configure the virtual directory, the configuration manager crashes.  Then, when I navigate to the reportserver page, I get a page that states:
Server Application Unavailable

The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable.  Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.

Any ideas for a solution or workaround would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Unable To Configure Reporting Services To Use SSIS Datasource
I've created a SSIS package with a DataReaderDestination and a SSRS report that points to it.

I referenced these links during development and I have everything working as expected locally.  **I changed the config files as stated on both my local machine and our server.  My config matches the example exactly.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345250.aspx
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159215.aspx

When I attempt to deploy my report project to the server I get this error message:
"An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'SSIS' that is not registered for this report server."

In the report manager data source properties page it reads:
"The data processing extension used for this report is not available. It has either been uninstalled, or it is not configured correctly."

In SQL Server Management Studio data source properties page SSIS is not a data source type option.

I've tried restarting both the Reporting Services and Integration Services on the server to no avail.

Any suggests?  My problem is I can't get the SSIS to be recognized source on the server.

Unable To Login To Reporting Services On Local Host
 I am trying to setup Reporting Services on my local machine. I have installed SQL 2005 Developer Edition on my laptop and when I goto http://localhost/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx I receive the following error:

The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.

I checked in the Event Viewer and I see some cryptic error by SQLDUMPER:

I have the reporting server sevice running under my domain account. I also went into Reporting Services Configuration and all checks are green.

Does anyone have any additional suggestions on what might be causing me to not be able to access this locally?

Thanks,

Cannot Connect To Reporting Services
I'm getting the following message when I try to connect to Reporting Services. 'The Report Services Instance could not be found'.

Report Services was installed separetly from the Database engine install. I see a reference in the documentation that Reporting Services has to be installed concurrntly with the Database engine. There are also to reporting databases installed. Assuming that this is the problem, is there a way to create the databases and connect to them without uninstalling and reinstalling the components. I've tried using the Database setup in the Reporting Services Configuration utility without success.

Unable To Pass Null Value With DropDownList Parameter In Reporting Services 2005

Hello,

I have a stored procedure that on two fields it allows null. On the report, I have two DropDownList boxes that are populated with data, however, I would like the user to be able to have the option of not selecting an item from these list, thus passing null to the stored procedure.

When I goto "Report | Report Parameters" I have set these fields to "allow null" and "allow blank" and at the bottom I also gave it the default value of null.

When I run the report in preview mode, those two dropdownlist have a <Select a Value> and my assumption is since I want them to pass null, I will just leave them that way.  However, when the report is ran, I receive an error saying "Please select a value for the parameter: (my parameter)".  So it forces me to select an option at which I don't want to do.

How can I set this to pass a null?

Thanks,
Flea#

How To Connect A MS Reporting Services Area To A MY SQL Database
I am having a issue trying to connect MS Reporting Services with a MY SQL database.  Under the system, I can get the connection to work, but when trying to run the queries, I get database connection string errors.  I have found  the sp_addlinkview stored procedure, but get errors trying to run the values though it.  The MY SQL database is on a different machine from the Report Services Server.

I had gone unto the server itself to setup this area.  I tryed a solution posted on the internet, but that was what errored out, and the parameters did not seem to be the same.

Thanks!

Reporting Services And IIS Errors - Cannot Connect To Database Etc.
hi,

I set up Reporting Services about 9 months ago when I installed Microsoft CRM 3 (Dynamics?), but these problems have only just started occurring.  Lost count of how many hours have been wasted looking for answers!

Apologies if this rambles on like a cheap book but i don't want to miss out any of the detail..

CRM stops working within an hour of IIS starting up, but if somebody logs in to CRM before it goes down then it's fine for the rest of the day. However the next day it's back to square one.  Looking through Event logs it seems to be caused by SQL Reporting Server, because;

Report Server errors show it starting up after IIS, but within an hour throws up "Exception: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException - Message: Unable to find assembly 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics".  It's at this point that IIS stops responding altogether, hence CRM stops working.

Running iisreset from the command line makes IIS work again, but this becomes a pain in the backside running it every morning before my colleagues get in.  I have set up a schedule to run it for me, which works, but as i said if nobody logs in within the hour (which does happen at least once a week), then CRM won't work until i manually run iisreset again.

Also Reporting Services Configuration Manager does not start properly, so i can't even go through that to see if it's a config problem - when launching it i get an alert box with "An unknown error has occurred in the WMI Provider. Error Code 800706B3". That's with the default server name already in the box, but no matter what server name or IP I try to get it to connect to, it just will not have it. Also that error code seems to be unique to me, since not one webpage exists with the same code.

Other things i've gone through;

- SQL Server Configuration Manager shows everything Running, including Report Server
- SQL Management Studio shows all CRM & Reporting Services databases exist and are online.

- The Report Server error log shows this: "w3wp!library!1!29/03/2008-12:34:00:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerServiceUnavailableException: The Report Server Windows service 'ReportServer' is not running. The service must be running to use Report Server."

- http://localhost/ works fine.
- http://localhost/Reports/  shows up a .Net error page with Security Exception error: "The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy".
- http://localhost/ReportServer/  shows up a page with "localhost/ReportServer - /  ---- Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 8.00.1038.00" which i assume is lacking correct content.

- When CRM was configured the setup wizard moaned that it could not use the existing Reporting Services database or IIS directories, so for that purpose there are two more virtual directories in IIS..
- https://localhost/ReportsSQL/  shows up an error: "Unable to connect to the remote server"
- https://localhost/ReportServerSQL/  shows up an error: "Reporting Services Error - The Report Server Windows service 'ReportServer' is not running. The service must be running to use Report Server. (rsReportServerServiceUnavailable)"

- While trying everything i am logged in as server admin
- Software specs: Windows 2003 Small Business Server (SP2), SQL Server Standard 2005 (9.0.3054 / SP2), all patches from Microsoft Update (not just Windows Update) have been applied.

If you managed to read this far then thank you..  I'm nearly bald with frustration so if someone could please suggest things worth looking into or trying, that would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Error Trying To Connect To Reporting Services Using SQL Management Studio
Hi.

I have some strange error trying to connect to Reporting Services.

At the beginning I was suspecting some accounts issues.

But after checking all the accounts under wich ASP.NET, SQL SERVER, Reporting Services are running I don't even know what to think.

After searching internet for answers the only similar problems' solutions were remove RS and install it again.

Have anybody here had this problem? Can you just fix something without reinstalling RS? The error is:

I work in an environment where everyone is there own server.  I can connect to a collegeau's SQL Server by using the Windows Authentication method in the Database Engine but if I try to connect to the Reporting Services Engine it says that I am not allowed to connect due to permission violations.  How do I get adequate permissions to do so? I have all of the components for Reporting Services installed and I am actively using it.  I want to be able to test the functionality of the RSScriptor before deploying it out to others.

Problems Creating Data Source To Connect To Oracle Using Sql Server Reporting Services

Hi,
I've created a data source to connect to Oracle through "SQL Server Reporting Services" using connection string like this "Data Source=exampleOracleConnection;Unicode="True"". I have set up a system DSN to connect and also the correct entry in the tnsnames.ora. file. I'm just confused as to how the connection credentials are run. I have selected the option within the datasource "credentials stored securely in the report server" and popped the oracle database user name and password in here. I'm not too sure is this correct though because when I run the report I get the following error message "an error has occured during report processing. cannot create a connection to data source". Does the oracle database user name and password have to be entered in the report server database in order to connect and set with the correct credentials? Any advice would be great.
Cheers.

Unable To Open &&"Windows Service Identity&&" Panel In Reporting Services Configuration Manager
Hi,

I've a slight problem with configuring my Report Server.  I have set up everything apart from the initialisation and and the Windows Service Identity, however when I select the panel for the latter I am presented with a message box displaying the following:

" Reporting Services Configuration Manager:

There was an error while switching panels.  The most likely cause is an error retreiving WMI properties.  The exception details are:

InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'.

Parameter name: SelectedIndex "

I have tried re-installing the entire SQL server setup and this made no difference, I followed this by removing then reinstalling just the Report Service.  Still nothing.

Any ideas as to what it is doing and how I should go about fixing it?

Migrate From 32bit 2000 Reporting Services To 2005 64bit Reporting Services

Hello,

I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified.
Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases
Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly.

   at Microsoft.ReportingServices.Common.DBUtils.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script)
   at ReportServicesConfigUI.SqlClientTools.SqlTools.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script)

It's driving me crazy, why is it looking for 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB' in the catalog instead of 'ReportServerTempDB'?
Is it possible to migrate from 32bit to 64bit?

Any help is appreciated

Compatibility Of SQL Express Reporting Services With SQL 2000 Reporting Services
I'm attempting to obtain a cost effective solution for my existing customers to develop reports on their SQL 2000 Server installations using their Reporting Services 2000. With products like Visual Basic.NET 2003 becoming almost impossible to obtain, I have at least one customer who is running into a dead end.

One option possibly is the SQL Express with Advanced Services download, which has Reporting Services.  My questions are as follows:

Can the report designer component of SQL Express Reporting Services be configured to connect to an external database (which would happen to be a SQL 2000 database) to establish its datasets?
Does the resultant designed report end up in an RDL file? If the customer published this report via the Reporting Services 2000 Report Manager, would the report be able to run?

Sorry for asking a question like this that I could probably answer on my own, but my customer needed this answer yesterday. I have scoured the web and microsoft sites - and posted a question on the official SQL Reporting Services cateogy ... in an attempt to answer the basic question of how to design reports for Reporting Services 2000 in the absence of Visual Basic.NET 2003 (or other .NET 2003 tools) with no success.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Reporting Services From WebBrowser Control - Print = &&"unable To Load Client Print Control&&"
UPDATE #2: When it said "Do you want to install Microsoft SQL Server" I said "yes" and that caused it to work. I exited and re-ran and now the print runs w/o the "install SQL Server" (If the prompt had said "Do you want to install the print dialog" we wouldn't be having this discussion...)

UPDATE: After posting this i discovered that the same thing occurs when attempting to print the report direct from IE6: First a dialog pops up "Do you want to install this software?" Name: Microsoft SQL Server. When I click "Don't Install" I get the dialog "unable to load client print control." Since this happens direct from IE6 I suspect it's browser settings. I'll resume tomorrow and post a followup.

My WinForm C# app integrates Reporting Services by calling them from WebBrowser controls. The problem is attempts to print cause a dialog: "unable to load client print control."

I've read prior posts that say "enable Active-X in your browser" - I don't know how to do that from a WebBrowser control.

Any ideas how to support Reporting Services "Print" from within a WebBrowser control?

To Access Reporting Sevices (Report Manager, Reporting Web Services), Does One Has To Be An Admin On The Machine
Hi There,

Our DBA has installed reporting services on a server and now in order to access the report manager, one has to be an Admin on that Server. I am guessing that there is a mistake in the configuration of Reporting Services. Usually it should allow anybody who was added to the roles in the properties section of the Report Manager, right?  I have also added the users to the DB..

Also I am using Windows Authentication to access Report Catalog items (Reporting Services is installed on Server2) from a web Application(deployed on Server1) and displaying the report using report viewer. For some reason, server1 has to be in an Admin role on Server2 to access the report catalog/report. This is kinda strange for me as I don't want everybody to be an Admin on Server2. Can anybody please point in the right direction?

Thanks.

Reporting Services - Analysis Services - Displaying Dimension Members As Columns
I think I've seen a similar post on a blog or on the forums - but it seems like this should be possible -

I have an MDX query - that works fine in SQL Enterprise Manager, and has my dimension members on columns, and my measures on the rows.  When I try the same query in Reporting Services, I get the error:

"The query cannot be prepared: The query must have at least one axis. The first axis of the query should not have multiple hierarchies, nor should it reference any dimension other than the Measures dimension..
Parameter name: mdx (MDXQueryGenerator)"

Although it works when you pivot the view, I really need my data presented with the members on the columns and the measures on the rows.  Another forum post mentioned using the SQL 9.0 driver, but I can't see this listed anywhere (the only one I see is the .NET framework Data Provider for Microsoft Analysis Services).

Here's what my query looks like -

 SELECT
{ [Time].[Month].&[2006-09-01T00:00:00] ,
[Time].[Month].&[2006-10-01T00:00:00],
[Time].[Month].&[2006-11-01T00:00:00],
[Time].[Month].&[2006-12-01T00:00:00]
} on COLUMNS,
{
 [Measures].[Unique Users],
 [Measures].[UU Pct 1],
 [Measures].[UU Pct 2],
} ON ROWS
FROM [Cube]

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Unable To Connect To DB
Hello everybody
I wrote a vb.net win app that uses a mssql 2005 express DB.
On my localcomputer everything worked without a problem.
Now I wish to deploy my app on a remote computer (that has mssql 2005 express installed), so. I added an app setup project to my project using the vs2005 setup tool, installed the app on the remote computer, and copied the mdf file to the remote computer.
I'm able to see the DB through the remote computer mssql manager, But when I try to start the app on the remote computer I get this error massage :
A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake. error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)
my connectionstring (in the config file) looks like that :
    <connectionStrings>        <add name="Info_Manager.My.MySettings.MaxinetConnectionString"            connectionString="Data Source=DOTAN-XPSQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataMaxinet.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"            providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />        <add name="Info_Manager.My.MySettings.MaxinetConnectionString1"            connectionString="Data Source=DOTAN-XPSQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataMaxinet.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"            providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />    </connectionStrings>
by the way changing the user instance attribute to "false" didn't help.
Does anybody know how to fix this problem.

MS SQL 6.5 Unable To Connect.
Let me start by saying that, yes we know v6.5 is no longer supported byMicrosoft and that moving to SQL2000 might resolve our problem.Actually the migration to SQL2000 is 1 to 2 months out and in the QAphase now. Unfortunately we need to resolve the current 6.5 issue nowas it heavily impacts a major revenue stream for the company with everyoutage we encounter.The Problem:At least once every 24 hours the SQL Server begins disallowing new userconnections. When this happens the 2 CPUs begin to thrash. About 5minutes later the error log begins to print out the following errormessage: "Unable to connect. The maximum number of '500' configured userconnections are already connected. System Administrator can configure toa higher value with sp_configure." No new connections can be made to theserver; however, the existing connections continue to function normally.We never see anywhere near 500 user connections in the system (it tendsto average around 350 connections). If we begin to disconnect users theserver continues reporting that the maximum number of users isconnected. Eventually running queries thru an open connection will hangand we have to resort to a hard reboot of the server as neither SQLServer will not shutdown nor will the operating system.The Server:Compaq Proliant DL380 with dual 863 MHz. processors (x86 Family 6 Model8 Stepping 3 GenuineIntel), 917,020 KB of physical memory, MicrosoftWindows 2000 Server (Version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4 Build 2195), TotalVirtual Memory 3,138,688 KB, Page File Space 2,221,668 KBSQL Server:Microsoft SQL Server 6.50 - 6.50.479 (Intel X86). Some pertinentconfiguration settings: memory - 244100 (in 2K units), user connections– 500, RA worker threads – 3, max worker threads – 255We found one reference to the above error message in the MicrosoftKnowledge Base and that refers to a condition where the server has 2GBor more of physical memory with 1.5GB assigned to SQL Server. This doesnot pertain to our situation. ODS Unable To Connect
After SP5a upgrade on a very busy server, I'm getting the following error:

ods Unable to connect. The maximum number of '100' configured user connections are already connected. System Administrator can configure to a higher value with sp_configure.

I can connect with ISQL_w and see 43 connections. Also ran the SQL Perfmon counters and it never exceeded 43 connections. I found 2 MS KB articles that seem related - Q189039 and Q170652.

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine what is failing in ODS? Or have any ideas?

Unable To Connect
Everything has been working fine our SQL Server (lets call it Server A) (v2000 under NT 4), however sometime over the weekend it is unable to connect to one of our other SQL Servers (Server B).

In the Event Viewer I found this error:
SuperSocket info: Failed to get Exclusive port use(MSAFD Tcpip (TCP/IP)): Error 10013.

Everything on this server appears to be working fine, as in everything can connect to Sever A that needs to, but Server B can't connect to A, nor is it working the other way.

Also, Server A SQL Services run on port 2006, and B is on the standard 1433. Everything has been working with this up until today?

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Unable To Connect
We've been using Integration Services for a while, but last night all of a sudden we find ourselves unable to connect to it.

If I try to connect to it from the server using the machine name I get the message:
Connect to SSIS Service on machine "xxxx" failed:
Class not register

If I try to connect to it from the server using (local) I get the message:
Connect to SSIS Service on machine "(local)" failed:
The RPC server is unavailable

If I try to connect to it from any other machine using the server name I get either the message:
Class not registered or after a very long pause:
Connect to SSIS Service on machine "xxxx" failed:
Server execution failed.

This started happening after we rebooted the server.
I also noted one instance of each of the following errors in the event viewer:
DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer (local) using any of the configured protocols.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

And
The server {ABF05265-635E-44B0-A28F-AEA45247ACA0} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Any help is appreciated.  I really wasn't planning on rebuilding a server today.

Thanks,

Unable To Connect
I am unable to connect SQL Server Management Studio to any of the databases on my computer. At this stage I am simply starting the Management Studio and asking it to connect to a database I made a few months ago before this connection trouble arose. I'm specifying the server name "BENCHLAP" which is the name of My Computer, using Windows Authentication.
The error I get is:
An
error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.  When
connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact
that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote
connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not
open a connection to SQL Server)
The client is local. At least, it is if I understand correctly - the instance of SQL Server is installed on the same machine as the instance of IIS that I intend to use to test my web applications after we have resolved this issue, and the same machine as the one I shall use to view the application on.
I can ping the server if i type "ping -a BENCHLAP". It is successful
I think it also connects via telnet ok as well, by typing "telnet BENCHLAP 135"
All client protocols are enabled, as are the server protocols. Don't know if this is a security risk but I did it to try and solve the problem, to no avail. There are no aliases, according to the Configuration Manager.

The server itself is SQL Server Express 2005, runnning on Windows XP Professional. My anti virus software is AVG.
I'm afraid I don't know anything more, and have been researching this error for quite some time now.
Is anybody able to help me please?
Ben

Analysis Services 2000 + Reporting Services 2005 + Parameters

Hi All,

I'm trying to create reports in RS2005 using AS2000 as my data source. I understand that if I use RS2005 on AS2000, I wont be able to enjoy the OLAP based parameters as in using AS2005. Does anyone know an easy way to easily use Parameters in RS2005 while still using AS2000?

Regards,
Joseph

Using ReportViewer Controls In A Jsp Application Calling Reporting Services Using Web Services
 Hi,

 I am invoking RS web services to render reports, using Apache Axis to generate stub classes from Reporting Service WSDL.

Please let me know if I can integrate Report Viewer control in the jsp where I am writing the report output. Else do I have to create my own custom tags simulating ReportViewer functionality.

Error Programaticaly Rendering A Report Using Reporting Services Web Services
I'm using Reporting Services 2005 SP1 and wrote some code to render reports server-side.
My sample report has  few parameters that must be passed so I pass these parameters with code.

<My code>
ReportServiceExecution.ReportExecutionService rs = new ReportServiceExecution.ReportExecutionService();
rs.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;
string extension, mimeType, encoding;
ReportServiceExecution.Warning[] warnings;
string[] streamID;

     ParameterValue[] parameters = new ParameterValue[2];

     parameters[0] = new ParameterValue();
     parameters[0].Name = "pID";
     parameters[0].Value = "6548747";

     parameters[1] = new ParameterValue();

     parameters[1].Name = "pClass";

     parameters[1].Value = "8";

    ExecutionHeader header = new ExecutionHeader();
    ExecutionInfo executionInfo = rs.LoadReport(reportPayslip.Name, null);
    executionInfo = rs.SetExecutionParameters(parameters, "en-us");
    rs.ExecutionHeaderValue = header;
    rs.ExecutionHeaderValue.ExecutionID = executionInfo.ExecutionID;

    byte[] report = rs.Render("PDF", "<DeviceInfo><Toolbar>False</Toolbar></DeviceInfo>", out extension, out mimeType, out encoding, out warnings, out streamID);
</My code>

Actually, I have several more parameters but I've checked the collection and all the parameters I want are there and have values. Their names match those found in executionInfo.Parameters. But when I run my code I get the following error on Render():

<Error>
"This report requires a default or user-defined value for the report parameter 'pClass'. To run or subscribe to this report, you must provide a parameter value. ---> This report requires a default or user-defined value for the report parameter 'pClass'. To run or subscribe to this report, you must provide a parameter value. ---> This report requires a default or user-defined value for the report parameter 'pClass'. To run or subscribe to this report, you must provide a parameter value."
</Error>

I've double-checked and my parameter array does have the problematic parameter, I passed it a value but when I check executionInfo.Parameters I see that it's the only parameter that hasn't been give a default value after calling SetExecutionParameters(). So my parameters do seem to be passed but one seems to refuse getting a value. If I comment out the SetExecutionParameters() line I get, as expected a similar error but on another parameter (first one in the executionInfo.Parameters collection). So I'm left to beleive that the SetExecutionParameters() has some kind of bug as it works for all but one parameter. I've checked casing, spelling, tried passing phony parameters and from what I've seen I should be getting an error when I pass the parameters if I got something wrong.

Any help would be much appreciated.

How Can I Access A Custom Assembly In Analysis Services From Reporting Services?
Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone can give me a pointer here, because this seems like a pretty strange bug.

I've created a few CLR stored procs that I compile into a dll and add to my SSAS database as an assembly. This all works fine, and I can write MDX that takes advantage of that assembly.

In SSRS, however, I've included the analysis services database, and when I try to generate a dataset off it using my CLR procs, it throws up an error.

How can I access a custom assembly in analysis services from reporting services?

Thanks!

Andrew

Parameters In Reporting Services And Data Source Is Analytical Services

My requirement for the parameter is multivalue parameter with a text box. for example when user enters aa15 it need to include product aa15. when the user enters aa15, aa16, zz15 than it needs to include all the three products. the last case is when the user enters AA** than i need to inclued all the products start with AA.  when i use default multivalue  parameter with data source analytical services than i am getting a drop down box. I dont want that. I need a text box where user can enter the value.
1. In sql we have a like key word to query . for example select * from product where product like "AA%".
what is equavalent mdx query to get such results ?
2.How to impliment the multivalue parameters without using dropdown box?
