Free LAMP-Image - Is It Legal?
I plan to make a vmware image, which contains a LAMP system, that means:
Linux (in my case debian or a smaller one), apache, mysql and php5.
My question:
Is it legal? I want to provide this image for FREE!

I just have one server that runs Apache, MySQL, PHP. It handles requests fine and never had problems. When should I think about a small step into scaling? By maybe having an independent MySQL server? Schema Privileges - LAMP
I have a Virtual Server from which I administer a few databases. I need to create complex queries including UNIONS. And to simplify my work, and to make objects available to my application I need the CREATE_VIEW privileges My "Root" tells me that MySQL 4.XX does not support the CREATE_VIEW privilege. My Global privileges do not have this value. How do I, or can I, add a CREATE_VIEW privilege to my list of available privileges?

ERROR 1045 :: LAMP On Ubuntu
I have installed LAMP on an ubuntu machine. Now when I use the command: mysql -u memyid -p it gives me this error: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'memyid'@'localhost' (using password: YES) I did input the password that I set when installing the lamp package. But I do not know why it is acting this way... could some one tell me where I'm going wrong?

I use a LAMP-server running on Debian Etch as a virtual host on VMWare. I use mysql for a web gallery, but a couple a days ago it seems to stop working, so I tried to restart mysql and webserver, but mysql then fail to start. MySQL Free?
I have been using XAMPP as a server on my PC to test my PHP and MySQL code and it is free for those who have not heard of it. My dad was telling me his office was thinking about getting MySQL but it cost money. I went to there web site and it looks as if they have a certified server version (costs money) and a developer version (free). I was wondering if you have a site online running MySQL do you have to buy the certified version or can you use the developer version without any cost.

I remember back in the glory days of the web long gone where I could run through 8-10 major search engines and submit for free. I recently tried to do that with my new site and realized that most are pay for inclusion. Is there a Secret Area to submit at or is it impossible to get into for the most part? I wondered if you could let me know which is the best report generating package for mysql.... I am looking into open source or commercial packages... I want the package to create me a link where I could add a button to so my user does not see the sql code... they just click the button and pops the charts... Free Or Inexpensive Version ?
I am an individual who would like to learn on their own how to use mysql. I am probably wrong, but I thought that being open source there would be a free, or inexpensive, version to "play" with on ones own PC. I cannot afford the Enterprise Version. Is there someone who knows a webhosting provider who provides free SQL or MySQL(rather SQL than MySQL) database which is not limited by numeber of tables for free charge. I found one which is limited by one table, in which I cannot change the name table, cannot create new table etc. I need at least four tables. No matter space limits, may be under 5MB for example. But must be accessable from outside, I mean I want to connect it from Visual Foxpro via ODBC driver.

Linux Server V/s Windows Server ( WebServer - LAMP V/s WAMP)
My client wants to use WAMP ( Windows + apache + MySQL + PHP ). But the site performance is very slow on windows. I dont know the exact reasons. I have seen some benchmark details on internet. But still they are not having concrete facts to support LAMP as a better alternative to WAMP. Allmost all the search done on google melts down to IIS vs Apache, My main concern is "Apache on LINUX" v/s "Apache on Windows" and similarly for PHP/MySQL.

Lost Connection To MySQL Server During Query (LAMP Server)

Form Free Text Field
I have a form free text field for which the user can enter any text. I do not do any scrubbing of this text, ie. checking for some text which could effect SQL statments. I look at my logs an I find alot of the error messages below. For free form text fields what should I "scrub" or run checks for. For example I guess is the users uses a . - or something of the like it can cuase this error. Free Disk Space On DELETE
I'm building a huge DB. One particular table can contain as much as 125 million records. I need to DELETE records older than a year. That part works fine but it doesn't free any space on my hard drive (C:/). I tried OPTIMIZE TABLE and it still won't free hard disk space.

MySQL: Spam Free (Send/Receive) Emails. HOW?
I would like to create a MySQL to protect my subscribers and clients from receiving a spam emails. Can I Upload A MYSQL Database To My Free Web Hosting Space?
I have a domain with awardspace.com which has php and MYSQL enabled. I am a newbie and not quite sure how to set it all up or if it's even possible with the Database I've created on my desktop. When I go to the Database Manager in the administrator section it has a spot to create a database,and confirm a password. From there I take it you would use the PHPMyAdmin to alter the database. Can I just upload a database using an FTP manager like Dreamweaver, or do I need to start from scratch and create the database on this server. If so is there a way to eventually download it so I don't lose any of the information in it.

Ech time try to access them i get the following: MySQL Administrator.exe - bad image The Application or DLL C:WindowsSystem32ICMP.DLL is not a valid window image . I want to design an image library (PHP/MySQL). I have the tables 'images' and 'categories'. Normally an image would have a field called 'categoryID' to link it to a particular category.I want the option to have an image belonging to several categories... what is the best way to do it ?Can I have a list in the field 'categoryID' (i.e. 1,3,5) ? Or should I build a table to associate images with categories ?I think the second solution is the 'proper' way as far as theory goes but my concern is the speed of access (and maybe code for updating)...I am tempted to go with the solution one but what about common queries like SELECT * FROM images WHERE categoryID = x will they retrieve images that have a list instead of a single value in 'categoryID' ?

Best Way Inserting Image
I understand that this is not the best way to use images and databases, but that is how the database is designed. So that is how I have to do it.when i try it with the syntax: Code: INSERT INTO image_source(id, file_name, mime_type, image_data) VALUES (13, 's620.jpg', 'image/jpeg', 'C:Inetpubwwwroots620.jpg') I dont get any errors, but it doesnt insert the image either.The image_data coulmn is of type blob as it is supposed to be, so im not sure what is going wrong here

i have a question, i saw the tutorial about images databasing on spoono and it wasn't written very well...my question is: They are encrypting the file into base64, then they are putting that information into a column, then to call it, they are decoding the information and echoing it. Am i right? now the second question, how do u get the file into the directory? is this a seperate script that uses copy()?

We regularly make drive images of our entire server and store it at a backup site. To be honest I have never fully understood how the imaging programs deal with open files. I note that many open source cms/blogging packages store images in the MySql database, along with page content etc. I have developed my own website using PHP (4.3) and MySql (wingweb.co.uk) Can anyone guide me on the advantages/disadvantages of this approach? I had considered it for my own website, but it seems to me that speed would suffer on a graphic rich site. This may be particularly true where the MySql db is stored on another server behind a firewall, as some web hosts do.
