How To Reset Yahoo Small Business MySQL Database
I am a new user of "Yahoo Small Business" web hosting service and I changed a lot of settings in my "MySQL Database" using "phpMyAdmin" utility during my learning period. Now, I want to reset my Yahoo Small Business MySQL Database to default settings or to reinstall it (I want it to be the same as it was newly activated). Note: I tried to repair my database with Yahoo's "Database Setup" page and the message "Database scheduled for repair" appeared for a few days but nothing happened. And, I can not login to my database using "phpMyAdmin" utility. If you can help me to reset my "Yahoo Small Business - MySQL Database" I will be very pleased.

Hosting MySQL
Any good tutorials on setting up the MySQL server for hosting? is this even possible in the community version?
Web Hosting Databases
Many times we want to be able to manage our databases stored in the web hosting but these only can be manipulated with the PhpMyAdmin.PhpMyAdmin is a simple but useful tool. To people that use MySQL Clients a very good alternative it is the SSH Tunneling, throught this one we can carry out connections to web hosting that supports SSH. SSH can be used to encrypt communications between MySQL Client and your remote MySQL server in your Web Hosting. The prime benefit of SSH tunneling is that it allows us to connect to a MySQL server from behind a firewall when the MySQL server port is blocked.
MySQL Hosting
does anyone know a stand-alone MySQL host... i need to be able to access a MySQL database from anothersite... seperate from the host of the MySQL database...
MySQL Virtual Hosting
When you create a new user, let's call him "userJohn", is it possible to set a different data foler for that user? I was thinking it would be great if you could keep user databases seperate from each other, kind of like every user has thier own folder on a virtual database folder, and access can be restricted for that user to the databases in their folder. So if user1 creates a database named "Database1", and later user2 creates a database with the same exact name, it will not give an error, and when user1 alters his "Database1," it will not effect any other users "Database1". Similair to webhosting, where every user has their own folder they keep thier data in.
What's The Fastest/Best MySQL Web Hosting?
I've had numerous problems with the speed of my apps on a shared hosting server. I optimized the living crap out my queries, but still performance gain was minimal. I wanna switch to a better host. Anyone have any recommendations for lightning fast mysql servers?
Hosting Photo Album
I am writing a database for an online photo album website which will allow people to sign in, upload photos, and have an online photo album. I am trying to figure out the best design for this type of application, and I am not sure how to best set up each persons picture database. I suppose there can be a table with a list of all of the people, and then a table with all of their information that is linked to the list of people..does that sound right? Also, does a primary key need to be the same for each table that is related to each other? (Silly question, I know.)
NySQL Hosting Provider
would be interested in any advice since this is new territory for me -- my experience has only been with Access so far, and for situations where only I could modify the database. But now I have a web application where lots of users need to have password access and be able to modify their own data etc, and where I need to be able to administer the whole thing.
Hosting Service's SQL Command
I have been having trouble getting the following statement to work to populate my databse with data from a text file. LOAD DATA INFILE 'Listings-Residential.txt' INTO TABLE `RESIDENTIAL` According to my hosting company's support, cPanel configures databases in such a way that this statement will not work. My question is, I also have access to a co-worker's hosts - one that runs Plesk and one that runs Verio's control panel. Do either of these panels disallow this statement? Is this a common thing, that control panels configure databases in such a way that certain commands cannot run on them?
Pull Hosting Plans
I am currently creating a web hosting website for a client of mine, for the packages and the order process we are using a script called "Auto-Host (http://www.idevspot.com/AutoHost.php)", which stores all the hosting plans into a mysql database. This is a great script and it does exactly what we want it too, the only thing missing is it doesnt create a page where people can view the hosting plans and click a sign-up button. Can someone please give me guidance on how i can get a page with all the hosting plans on please?, alternatively i am willing to pay somebody for doing this on my behalf
How To Control Mysql In Hosting Server
I am a ASP programmer. I use MS Access for quite some time, and I am to switch to MySQL. The way I use Access is create tables in my computer and upload it. When I want to do backup, I will download it and make another copy locally. 1. How to create a MySQL DB and Upload it? 2. How to modify the DB structure? For example, create index for certain field? do I have to download it and change it locally? 2. How to download and make backup?
Mysql Server With Hosting Company

MySQL Version - Hosting Problem/Question
I was wondering if any of you ever had experiences with different MySQL version with your hosting providers? I used MSSQL with PHP last month in a project and I liked the clean and easy code after using STORED PROCEDURES. So, How can I go about using MySQL 5 or so if hosting provider doesn't support it??
Connecting To Mysql Instance On Your Web Hosting Provider
I was wondering if it possible to connect to a remote instance of mysql running on the provider that hosts my website. Basically, I want to be able to access the tables within my database, without having to use the phpMyAdmin web interface. I want to *directly* access my database through a local ODBC connection running on my local windows machine. Does anyone know if web hosting providers typically offer this service?
Moving MySql Database To Hosting Server
I'm having a MySql database running fine on my local machine (WinXp Pro), where Apache2 is running as a local server. My database application (PHP) is doing everything it needs to do on my local server. The next step is to move my database to my hosting site. I see that my hosting site (siteflip.com) is using cPanel as an interface to my web space. I can create new MySql databases and via phpMyAdmin I can create new tables and content. However, I'm looking for a way to get rid of these things. I would like to put my MySql files (so, tables and records, the whole content of my database), which are on my local PC (in the 'datadir' directory), directly on the site. Does anyone know if this is possible and so, how it can be done?
Odbc Problem While Hosting Mysql In Ubuntu

How Often Is Best To Create New Database, Migrate Data With Shared Hosting?
I have got a web site that I have ben working on since March, 2007. It is a news reporting web site. It is replacing an older web site. I created a new database (it uses the MySQL database) last March when I started working on the new web site. I have migrated all of the news content from the old web site database to the new web site database. I have a shared web hosting. It's my understanding that the hosting service provider fills up one server with databases then starts a new server with databases. For example, the IP for the server that is hosting the current database for the new web site is 10.6.166.5 I just created a new database (the hosting allows you to have ten databases per shared hosting). The IP for the server for the recently created database for the new web site hosting is 10.6.166.92 If the servers are ordered sequentially there have been 87 new servers filled up with databases since last March (i.e. 10.6.166.92 recently created IP minus 10.6.166.5 March, 2007 IP equals 87 servers). The problem with migrating the nine-month old database to the new database is that I have got over a thousand news stories and two thousand pictures stored in the database with the 10.6.166.5 IP address. I would have to copy and paste all of the data into the phpMyAdmin program or write a PHP script that would automate the process. Is there any benefit to migrating the 10.6.166.5 March, 2007 IP database over to the more recently created 10.6.166.92 IP database? Would it be reasonable to expect the more recently created database to perform better over the next 12 to 18 months than the one created nine months ago?
Can I Upload A MYSQL Database To My Free Web Hosting Space?
I have a domain with awardspace.com which has php and MYSQL enabled. I am a newbie and not quite sure how to set it all up or if it's even possible with the Database I've created on my desktop. When I go to the Database Manager in the administrator section it has a spot to create a database, and confirm a password. From there I take it you would use the PHPMyAdmin to alter the database. Can I just upload a database using an FTP manager like Dreamweaver, or do I need to start from scratch and create the database on this server. If so is there a way to eventually download it so I don't lose any of the information in it.
Random Password Vs. User Created Password For Site Login
Are there any security issues or other concerns that make one preferable? The client is pushing for user created passwords. I'm mapping out the basic functionality and front-end for a MySQL/PHP back-end that will be completed by a third party. I'm a novice to MySQL but familiar with PHP and their interaction. Mainly looking for anything to support one method over the other.
Why Dont Shared Hosting Accounts Provide Stored Procedures And Triggers?
i am searching for 3 days now for a reliable, fast hosting company, which supports stored procedures and triggers on mysql5. most of them dont support this, because mysql5 has a design-flaw in which it stores procedures and triggers on a root level-area (tables mysql information_schema). due this logic, most of the hosting companies wont allow you to create/run procedures and triggers. funny, that hosting companies forbid you to use new technologies and methods to build faster.
Mysql Password() & Unix Crypt Password...
I am creating a user administration system where system administrator can activate services for a user, like webspace, a mail account or a subdomain. I now want to create a function that creates mysql databases and grant the right privileges to a user. But the problem is that mysql wants to have the plaintext password for the user in the "grant ... identified by 'pwd'" field, or in a manual query to update the password in the mysql.user table with PASSWORD('pwd'). I have another database which holds the passwords for the users, these password are stored the moment a user signs up and are used to activate services, for example ssh access to the machine. The stored passwords are encrypted using crypt(). So for adding a ssh service to a user, I simply do echo "$user:$pwdhash" | chpasswd -e. I have chosen crypt because some programs (like proftpd) don't take md5 sums. The problems is that I don't have the plaintext password. So I cannot add a mysql db. So I need to create a user in mysql with a crypt password. I tried to just "grant all privileges ... identified by 'nothing'" and then afterwards update the mysql.user table and putt the crypt password in there but it doesn't work like that. Does anyone have any idea on how I could fix this, how can I create a user in mysql without having his plaintext password and only having a crypt hash of it. I thought about not only storing a crypt hash, but also an md5 hash and a mysql PASSWORD() hash.. but I think that's an ugly solution.
I Can Connect With Db Password Or Blank Password
I have a password setup for root (% and localhost) in Mysql 5.0.26, I can connect ok no problem. I can also connect with blank password! I know it is checking the password cuz it fails if it's wrong. I'm sure I have only one account as well (tried to delete, recreate, etc... no change) select * from user where user='root'; | localhost | root | *F3AD8B3C44772C17F66767F29D948D9C255BD824 | Y ... | % | root | *F3AD8B3C44772C17F66767F29D948D9C255BD824 | Y ... Is there an option to accept blank password!? I have this problem only for root user; Other accounts are fine.
I Changed Root Password But I Can Not Login With Changed Password
I changed the password of root with update user set password=password('newpassword') Then I exited. But when I want to login again , it cannot authenticate the root I should tell you that a hacker had changed my root password before. Because it was not encrypted before.
Bad? Id Int(11) DEFAULT '0'
I'm trying to install the authlib module that's required for the open-source iOutliner web-based outliner (http://ioutliner.com), but it fails halfway through when creating the tables: //Bad! /* SQL Error: Invalid default value for 'id' */ $query = mysql_query("CREATE TABLE authlib_data ( id int(11) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL auto_increment, name text NOT NULL, email text NOT NULL, age int(3) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL, sex text NOT NULL, school text NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id) )"); //Bad! /* SQL Error: Invalid default value for 'id' */ $query = mysql_query("CREATE TABLE authlib_login ( id int(11) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL auto_increment, username text NOT NULL, password text NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id) )"); According to Google, DEFAULT '(0)' seems a legit instruction. What's wrong with this?
Specifying Default ''
does specifying default make the table smaller, like setting_title varchar(32) NOT NULL default '', instead of setting_title varchar(32) NOT NULL, make the entire row smaller, instead of a blank 32?
Default Value
How can I set a datetime field to have a default value of the time the record is inserted?
DEFAULT Value
I've been searching all over w3schools to no avail. I have a column whos domain is varchar(6). I want to set the default value to 'active'. I already have a whole lot of values in there. Some are 'active', some are 'closed'. I just figured it would be nice to have a default value in case someone added an entity and didn't specify this particular field. So, how do I set the default value for a column after I've already created and populated the dbase? And are there any better resources on the web than w3schools?
Default For The Type SET
I've created a database with a field of the type SET. Something like this: SET('choice1','choice2','choice3'). The default choice is the empty ('') string. Do I have to also define the empty string in the set like this SET('choice1','choice2','choice3','') or is this not necessary?
NULL Default Value
I have a simple table. I'm using phpmyadmin. As you can see my default values for NULL are 0 but for some reason wen a null value is posted to the database it appears as "NULL" instead of "0"....
Default Value For A Column, When Value Is Not Specified
We have migrated our database from DB2 to MYSQL. In DB2, there is an option like 'GENERATED BY DEFAULT AS IDENTITY' which will cause DB2 to generate unique values for the identity column during insert operations if no value is specified for the identity column. However, if a value is specified for the identity column, DB2 will use it in the insert operation. In MYSQL, is there an option like this?
DEFAULT DATE
I need a sistem variable for get the actual date when I create a table. I use sysdate in Oracle and it works, but i have not idea about mysql. I want to use into a create table like this: CREATE TABLE users( id_user int PRIMARY KEY, registrationday date DEFAULT sysdate );
Default Autocommit=0?
Is there any way I can set up mysql client so that the default value for autocommit is 0? This is for when I'm running the command line client on linux/windows or the Query Browser on windows. I would feel much more comfortable that I'm not going to accidentally put in the wrong where clause and update or delete a bunch of records. I like to use the number of rows affected by my query as a double-check that I've done what I intended to do, and then commit it. I've searched around but could not find any mention of this issue -- all of the postings on autocommit that I found have to do with accessing mysqlserver from a program such as java or PHP.
Read Default Value
I have table with simple data. all of fields have default value how to read this default value, using php
DEFAULT CHARSET
I really don't want to use this irritating feature at all. Is there a way to remove completely. Using Mysql 4.1.7, phpmyadmin 2.6.1. I think there should be a way around this, but can't remember where it resides.
DATETIME DEFAULT Now().
I would like to know in what way, I can set the default value of a DATETIME field to Now() so I don't need to put the code in my scripts. ALTER TABLE `tbltest` CHANGE `TheDate` `TheDate` DATETIME DEFAULT 'Now()' With the ' ' it doesn't error, but it's probibly just sending the string "Now()" and I get the default date 0000-00-00. If I take off the ' ' I get an error. Anyone know a way I can set my default value for my DATETIME field to automatically insert the date and time with each new record?
Default Peramaters
If I have a colum of timestamp, can I set the default as now() do I need a ; at the end or what?
