I encountered mysterious problem with MySQL and PHP.

UPDATE command is not working on MySQL configured on Apache 2 with Windows 2000 Server.

It pulled my hairs for atleast 5 hours.

MySQL says Affected rows: 0 (Query took ~ sec) always?

Now, I've decided to move all PHP files and db to remote server.

Problem Configuring 5 With Apache Mysql
I am using RedHat ES Ver3.0

Install Apache 2.0.59
Install MySQL 5.0.22

Downloaded PHP 5.1.4

Configure using:

./configure --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs

Receive Error:

configure: error: Try adding --with-zlib-dir=<DIR>. Please check config.log for more information.

Download zlib-1.2.3: configure and install

Reconfigure PHP using:

./configure --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --with-zlib=/usr/local/zlib-1.2.3

Receive error:

checking if the location of ZLIB install directory is defined... no
configure: error: Cannot find libz

Edited php.ini file: include directory value. removed comment mark
from extension=php_mysql.dll
copied libmysql.dll to system32 directory
Apache2 runs fine.
I can run phpinfo.php

I am trying to pass an Id from one server to another. The case is like this I have two scripts one in php and the other in asp. I am trying to combine the both together by passing an Id from php script to an asp script. The problems come on the client side because the information is on two different servers. Mysql_connect Error Apache Web Server To Windows Hosted Database
I've got MySQL 5.0.21 running on Windows Server 2003, and php running
on Apache on a Linux box (Fedora Core 4).

Previously when the pages were running on an IIS server the connection
was succesful, now I get:

Can't connect to MySQL server on 'SERVER' (13)

I'm connecting using:

$db = mysql_connect("SERVER", "USER", "PASSWORD")
or die("Could not connect to database:
".mysql_error());
mysql_select_db("DATABASE", $db)
or die("Could not select database: ".mysql_error());

However from the linux box I can connect no problems using:
mysql --host=SERVER -u USER -p

when I open IE and enter in "http://localhost" I get:

Installing On Windows 2000 Iis 5
for some odd reason the installer program doesn't set the file extension
..php to be associated with anything, my guess is that it should be
php-win.exe (i've tried all 3 .exe files, and the php.exe produces the
correct results in a command window)... when running a .php in IE I can see
it execute in task manager but the IE screen will not change to display the
correct info.. anyone have any idea about this? IE settings wrong or
something?

Configuring Apache 2.0.3 For 5.0
I have installed php5 and apache 2.0.5. apache is working. if i go to localhost, it brings up apache's splash page. however, if i try to create any type of '.php' file in my home directory, and try to go to it, I get error "http 404 Not found" I have the file in the correct directory and I am naming it properly.

I think it has something to do with the httpd.conf file. I am trying to configure it as a CGI under Windows XP. I added the following lines to the file:

ScriptAlias /php/ "C:/php/"

Addtype application/x-httpd-php .php

Action application/x-httpd-php "/php/php-cgi.exe"

I stopped and restarted apache, but problem persists. I know it's something I must be doing wrong becuase I tried this on 2 different pc's and i get the same results. I just can't figure out what i'm missing.

Problems With MS-SQL, Apace, PHP On Windows 2000
I want to use PHP for a project at work. This project requires Windows 2000 running Apache and accessing MS-SQL Server 2000. I am using the mssql php extension to access the db and have all the required files to access the db. If the environment was not correct, it shouldn't connect and successfully query int data types.

Everything works fine as long as I query for numeric datatypes such as int. However, every single time I try to query a text, char, var or datetime field, Apache crashes and I get a Windows error dialog saying that an error is being logged. Unfortunately, there is no error logged to either the Windows 2000 Event Log or the Apache log.

I love PHP and would really like to be able to use it for this project rather than JSP or ASP on IIS.

If anyone knows why this is crashing the server, I'd greatly appreciate any advice or help.

By the way, this is an enterprise-wide database so switching to MySQL is not an option.

EGroupWare - With Windows 2000 Install
using Apache, PHP and MySQL on my own PC - been using
it for a while on ISP hosted servers and plesk to create oline forums using
things like Invision and PHPBB but decided to give running eGroupWare a go
on my own PC.

I have windows 2000 Pro and followed some online tutorial to the letter
(excpet downloaded the very latest version of MySQl, PHP, etc) to install
Apache, PHP and MySQL and all worked fine.

Now downloaded eGroupWare and put it in the c:web folder and ran the setup
file

but when I go to my browser and tpye:
http://localhost/egroupware/login.php

I get the following below can anyone point me in the direction of what it
all means??

Configuring Php & Apache Webserver
Unable to run php files on Linux . php-4.2.2 is
preinstalled on RHL 9 .Whenever I run a .php file in the
webbrowser(Mozilla) the HTML source code of the file is being
displayed instead of the output .

I did all the elementary diagnosis stated in the FAQ's like ....

1) $php -i (enter)

This command results in pagefule of HTML code (This indicates php is
working properly).

2)Inserted the following in httpd.conf file ....

AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

3)php4 module "libphp4.so" is seen under /etc/httpd/modules

4)$apachectl configtest (enter)
syntax ok (output)

According to the www.php.net/manual/installation_FAQ if "$php -i"
results in loads of HTML code & if HTML source is displayed when the
".php" is run in the webbrowser then it indicates that php is working
properly and the problem lies with the webserver configuration .

There is one thing which is bit confusing ...... according to install
manual "php.ini" file should be placed under /usr/local/lib ,but i
found the file under /etc .

According to FAQ if file is under different location (other than
default location ) then following line has to be added ..

--with-config-file-scan-dir=PATH

But even after adding the line there is no change !

Is the problem with the Apache Webserver or php . Where can I find
php configuration file & can I make changes to it once it is installed
.. I could not find any php directory where such config file could be
found .

Beginners Q: Configuring Apache - Php On XP
I was just trying to install Apache and php on an XP box for test of a PHP
website I built last year. It was my first and only, so I am now rusty about
the little I did learn last year.

I get the following error in my log after I think I have I configured apache and php

Apache,MySql,PHP On Windows Vs. Linux
Crazy (possibly dumb) question here...
I have a site running apache, mysql, php in a Win2K environment.
Primary development is that env also. I also am setting up a linux box
(old laptop), to begin playing with Linux. I'd like to set it up
similiary with apache,mysql, php.
If I do that, and start doing some development there (Linux box) - can
I expect that when I move the php code to the windows box that it will
behave similarly as it did on Linux?
Anything to watch out for? I'm completely new to Linux...

Trouble With MySQL/Apache On Windows
I've just picked up the most recent versions:PHP - 5.2.0RC6-devMySQL - 5.0.26Apache - 2.2.3but I appear to be unable to get the mysql/mysqli extension to work.

After ensuring that the path is correctly set, and all the relevant configuration lines are in place, I am able to restart apache cleanly, however the mysql/mysqli extensions are NOT being loaded.

I've noticed that certain other extensions do not load mcyrpt and mhash being two notable ones I regularly use, however gd2 and gettext both load correctly. Code:

The include_path config variable looks like this:

PHP is installed in
e:php-5.0.4
and the PEAR Class defs are in

The includes that fail are:
include_once("PEAR-1.3.3/DB/DB.php");

These worked with 4.4.0, but fail with 5.0.4 ...

Running Windows XP extracted new download of "PHP" with Apache API into c:/php After inserting "LoadModule php4_module c:/php/sapi/phprapache.dll" into httpd.conf at line 159, upon restarting Apache i get the following error.

I have read all (ok most) of the posts relating to "Call to undefined
function mysql_connect()", read the manual on PHP.net and done

... ive checked i only have 1 php.ini file!
3. The dll "libmysql.dll" is in the folder C:php
4. The dll "php_mysql.dll" is in the folder c:phpext

MS-SQL Server 2000
i have a huge database that is mantained and updated on a daily basis. It is on a MS-SQL 2000 server. I need that data to be exported, preferably by a php script using a cron job every morning, to a MySQL database if anything has changed. I can write the code to do the SQL stuff and maipulate the data, but i'm confused as hell as how to connect to a MS-SQL server using either windows or linux (preferably linux) in order to GET the data!
php's documentation of MS-SQL functions is very "lacking".

I have installed PHP verr 4.x and MySQL 4.1 on a Windows 2003 Standard Server running IIS. I am trying to install phpadsnew an adserving program.

Configuring 5 With SQL Server 2005
I am trying to get php to work with SQL server 2005, I enabled the mssql extension at install time and that didn't work, so I went into the php.ini where php is installed under "C:Prorgam FilesPHP" and uncommented the mssql extension,

I also changed the extension_dir directive to the "ext" directory where the extensions under the root of the php installation and yet when I try to run a query under php I am still getting "call to undefined function" am I missing something here?

We're looking at getting a hosted dedicated web server to host our
PHP4/MySQL4 websites. It needs to be a MS Windows server as we use .NET Web
Services for a lot of background communications.

We've found what appears to be a fantastic hosting package but it is on
Windows 2003 Server **64 bit edition**.

PHP With ADO Stored Procedures In SQL Server 2000
here is the problem..

When this procedure runs I am supposed to get 2 output parameters.
When an insert statement is going to generate duplicate names I get 1
for @checker and 3 for @insertid. When the Insert statement runs
properly I am supposed to get 2 for @checker and an actual identity
for @insertid.

When using the code below, the part where the insert statement is
unsuccessful works just as desired, however the part where it inserts
the record returns zeros for both parameters.

When the stored procedure is run using query analyzer it performs
correctly in both instances.

Downloading PHP, MySQL With Apache Server
I am trying to learn MySQL, PHP and Apache server. I downloaded the Apache(2.0 and PHP(5.2). Also, I added these two codes in my conf file.

LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache2_2.dll"

It says its running but does anybody know how to check it to see if I downloaded Php correct. My Apache server is working correct, I dont see anything wrong but just want to make sure that the php is working as well. Problem Running PHP Script On 2000 Server
I am a web designer, and to process a form I placed a PHP script in it. The script sends input to an e-mail and writes it to a comma-delimited file as well.
Well, I tested it on a Linux server and it works fine. However, when the IT guys placed it on a Windows 2000 server, the form does not process. I got this message from IT:

MYSQL Select Using BETWEEN '1/1/2000' And '1/1/2004'
What is the syntax for a mysql select statement to select values between a range of dates. I am trying to use:

SELECT * from net5 WHERE Transaction_Date between '6/7/2004' and '11/3/2004'

My dates are stored as date_time in the database.

(unfortunately). I use Apache/PHP for test purposes, for running a
little intranet server, and I am going to have a student help me with
some coding.

Is there anything like the "nobody" id in UNIX where I can set apache
to run where it can't do too much damage?

Apache On Windows Xp Pro
I have installed apache and php on windows xp pro according to the directions in the blog design solutions book. I did all the changes in the php.ini file as well as the http.conf file. Restarted my computer.

When I try to start apache with the windows services it tells me that this is not a ms program and I can't run it.

If I try to start it with the apache start I get the following error: Cannot load the c:/php5/php5apache2.dll

(there are still other things to install, however I need to get this working first before I proceed any further)

I have went over this numerous times and checked all the code on the files and all appear to be ok. If anyone has any suggestiosn I would sure appreciate some guidance on this.

Apache+php On Windows
I just installed apache (latest good version) for Windows in:

C:Program FilesApache Software FoundationApache2.2htdocs

therein, in that directory, I have test.php.

In C:Program FilesApache Software FoundationApache2.2confhttpd.conf, at
the end of the file, I have:

ScriptAlias /php/ "c:/php/"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
Action application/x-httpd-php "/php/php.exe"

I restart the apache server, but when I go to look at localhost est.php, I
get:

You don't have permission to access /php/php.exe/test.php on this server.

Need Help Uploading To Windows XP With Apache And PHP
I am currently trying to upload images to a Windows XP box running PHP and Apache. I have gone through
every possible scenario in the forums but with no luck I just can't get it to upload. Here is the basics
in the script that I am using.

I have checked permissions, file sharing, registered globals off and on, directory structure
and so on.. Now I am able to create the folder photos if it doesn't exist, but it just doesn't
allow for me to upload the picture itself..
