i have a script and everything that moves what the channel topic is onto irc, into a sql database, and from there into a variable called $topic, the question is how can i make $topic show the mirc topic with all the colours and layout.

I've got a page with a couple of tables inside a couple of colored boxes(css-style), but when I try to print the page I end up with a copy without colors.
Convert .php Into .html
I have a pre-made php class that converts html into pdf documents. It can also convert php pages into pdf but it converts it before the php page executes. So in the resulting pdf you get all the php code. I was wondering is there a way i can let the php page execute and then let the pdf class convert it? I know it will be hard to say that without looking at the php class. I was thinking would there be a way to execute the the php page, and have it made into an html page? So this way i can run the php class on the html page.

Google , and found some tools as follow , 1) HTML_toPDF -- i have tried to use , however for our client website , the PDF aligment is out and the fields are overlapping each other. 2) R&OS --- ok but did not convert html/php to pdf , thus the format in pdf is different as the html/php format which our clients did not like it. Function To Convert HTML
I wrote this little function so that when I use eval() on HTML with PHP in it (eg: <font color="red"><?php print $name; ?></font>) it will convert the code into pure PHP so eval() works. There are a couple of things to note:You CANNOT use the ' character in the PHP code (eg: $val['value']) as it will cause errors - use $val["value"] instead. Using a RegExp will probably fix this but I'm not yet that advanced . You can use ' in HTML code or in print(), echo() in your PHP code.It only works for <?php ?> tags. <? ?> will cause errors. Convert Html Table To Csv
i need to write a script to automatically convert some statistical data from an html table to csv there are two problems that i'm having, depending on the user or the options selected, some rows won't be shown, and some will so in the code, there are a heap of if statements to hide/show columns which makes it especially hard when we need to add new columns for the html view, something else i need to look into i guess. i thought the easiest way, might be to use file_get_contents() to grab all the html code cos it's all laid out nicely already but then i thought about the colspans which would affect the comma seperatedness of the header columns (if you get that) does anyone know of a good, effective, scalable solution to this problem? Advanced OO Topic
I notice a strange behavior in PHP4 and wonder if anyone can explain it. Essentially, when I extend a class from a built-in module, I can add and access variables but can not access new functions I create within the extended class. This has only happened attempting to extend classes from ming, but I suspect it may be a universal problem (?). That is: <?PHP class foo { } class bar extends foo { function bar() { print "bar"; } } $bar = new bar(); $bar->bar(); //PRINTS "bar" ?> Works as expected, however, in: <?PHP class foo extends SWFSprite { var $x = 10; function bar() { print "bar"; } } ?> running: <?PHP $foo = new foo(); print $foo->x; //WORKS; PRINTS "10" $foo->bar(); //RETURNS "Undefined Function" FATAL ERROR ?> Can anyone explain this behavior? Web Based HTML Email Client
I have successfully built a web based email client that supports HTML. The question I have for you is why do I get "3D", "=" with a carriage return, "=A0", "=20", "=09" all over the place (without quotes of course), and thats just what I've seen so far. I looked at the source of the email in my email client (I'm using Netscape Mail) and they are there too but my email client does not show them. How does my email client know that they aren't suppose to be shown and what do they do in the first place?

Convert Text From Database For HTML
I'm pulling text from a database (MySQL) and I'm using the nl2br () function to convert the line breaks DESCRIPTION="<?php echo nl2br($row_rsttheJobResults['description']); ?>" This creates the following example "A new line will be created soon < 'br' > and here it is." However the website that receives this cannot accept the characters < and > So I want to convert this "< br >" into this "<p>" Could anybody help me add to the nl2br () function to convert the < br > tags? * the spaces between the < and br are there because they won't show in the message otherwise
(Off Topic) Cyberwar Question
One of my internet providers has blocked my broadband adsl internet connection for over a 2 months now. They still steal money from my bank account and they still hold the adsl line hostage, so I can switch over to another ADSL internet provider. I could switch over to a (tv) cable internet provider, however these are more expensive and only few providers available because of mergers. I am not happy about all this: 1. Blocked internet access. 2. Vastly reduced internet provider choice. 3. They stealing money and providing no service for it in return. 4. They received false complaints, they were too lazy to do proper research, and now they accuse me of things I did not do, and even if I did do it, it's not serious enough to disconnect anybody for 2 months. What are they, internet police ? I don't think so ?! The question is what to do about it ? I can see 4 options: 1. Switch to a more expensive (tv) cable internet provider. 2. Sue the ADSL internet provider. 3. Start a cyberwar against the ADSL internet provider. It's the Italian Internet Provider (Tiscali). However I live in the Netherlands where they are also present ! 4. Stick with the current dial-up internet provider. Here is what I have to say about the options: 1. I don't really want to switch to a more expensive (tv) cable internet provider, since it's more expensive, and they also have the same kind of contracts, so they may also disconnect me for no reason at all ! Most internet providers have some lines in their contracts which say: "We have the right to disconnect you at any time !". Ridicilous I say ! That's dangerous ! People might have internet telephone, and then they can't call the help services in case of fire or injury or other dangerous situations ! Furthermore internet is becoming more and more important, just disconnecting people for no reason or bullshit reasons should not be allowed anymore ! Internet has become to important to just let some internet provider mess it all up ! 2. The law in the Netherlands even states that disconnecting equipment from open communication networks without valid reason is a crime. However the goverment does little against it. It's a new law. Furthermore, most lawyers and judges know little about internet and it's technology, the same can be said for the police, they know little about it all, they are mostly busy catching street criminals and such. Going to the police at least in my neighbourhood is useless. Same can be said for the lawyers. However I am still waiting for the lawyers response... they still have to make up their minds. Gje. It's only been 2 months... Gje. 3. So that brings me to option three. Cyberwar ! We could start a cyberwar against such ISP's like Tiscali and block their networks from our webservers, websites and homepages. They don't provide me, and us, with services then we don't provide anymore of our services to them ! So their networks will become less valuable ! At some point if enough people take part in the cyberwar, their users will switch, because they can no longer access any websites. It's mean, it's not nice, but the ISP is doing it already ! Should we do they same back at them ? That's my question really: Who is willing to start or support a Cyberwar against these kinds of Evil ISP's ? and maybe you have some ideas about such a war yourself ? we can discuss those. I can be short about option four, it's working, but it ain't great. Me not too happy about it. I was lucky I still have an old computer, with an old 33k6 modem which is still supported by Windows 98. I might buy a new 56k6 modem, but then I would have to replace one my graphics cards in my new computer, and that kinda sucks as well... and the improvement won't be that much and dial-up is kinda expensive... need to pay per minute... but it's not too expensive for now. The problem is... downloading larger stuff becomes a problem... so that's not good. I am not happy about that.

Convert Special HTML Characters On Include
All I need to do is include the file "menu.html" (the actual menu contents, exported from MS Word - a requirement) in the dailymenu.php template. However, the menu.html file has all sorts of special characters - due to the fact that french, spanish, and itialian food names contain special characters: example: í, è, ó, â, é, ñ, etc. etc. so when I do a simple: <?php include("includes/menu.html"); ?> in the dailymenu.php file, the output is crapped up by the special characters not being converted. Any way you know to include the menu.html file in dailymenu.php template and fix the special characters all at once?
Php Based Html Feedback Form Produces Blank Emails

Using Echo To Print Out Different Colours
I have one page with a form (text area box) on it. When the user clicks update, whatever is put into the form is saved to the database and then displayed on another page. What I would like is this: There are 3 users: When each of them type into the form, I want it to print out in their colour on the second page. Editing Colours In Existing Image- How?.
I'm having a little trouble finding out how to edit the colours of an existing image and output it through php. For example, if I tell it to read an image in a folder but change X colour, how would that be done? The only ways I've discovered so far involve images made there and then, on-the-fly, not existing files.

Web Based IDE?
I have been doing quite some php using UltraEdit and Eclipse. Now i recently done another Smalltalk project i realize how i miss the searching capabilities of a good IDE: definitions of- and references to functions by name (called senders and implementors in Smalltalk), preferably combined with wildcards and 'search for function name where the cursor is in'. These are all available for Java in Eclipse, but not for PHP. Now i already have built all these seaching capabilities in the form of our Hypercode Browsers, but once i have found what i searched for i would like to press an 'Edit' button to jump to a descent code editor. I could easily add a standard TextArea in the browser to get a simple Web Based IDE, but i would rather have a good color coding editor. I could adapt one of those fancy rich text editor components we use for our CMS, but that would require a color coding algorithm, preferably in JavaScript, and probably more JavaScript knowledge then i like to learn. So this is my question: anybody ever heard of a dynamic html component for web based code editing, that supports color coding? Or maybe a complete web based IDE? Or maybe a way to make UltraEdit or Eclipse open a specific file from JavaScript (or remotely from php)?

XML-based Configuration
Does anyone know a good way to retrieve data from inside of an XML file and use it for configuration within my PHP apps? I tried PHPXConfig, and even with caching a serialzed version of the object, using the getData() method (you give it an XPath) makes my application a lot slower.
