Converting A Date Format (dd/mm/yyyy) Into A Time() Format
I want to convert a date in the format (dd/mm/yyyy) into a time() style format so I can compare it against the current time and only use information where its date is ahead of the current time.

Time/Date Format
I'm pretty sure there is a way to do this, but I don't know what the code is to do what I'm trying to get.

Is there a way to get the current date and time in YYYYMMDDHHNNSS format (as an example, 20001030111100)? I would guess you can but I don't know what the code is.

Always Local Time & Date Format?
Is there a script available that would re-format a time & date always
according to the users' setting?

Some setting that would be read by the language set in the browser or from
the IP?

What Is The Proper Date Format For A Txt Database?
I would like to know what format should be used when writing to a txt file. I am trying to search between a start date and a ending date and list any variables For example.

if (($sDate <= $jdate && $eDate >= $jdate))

then I have it list the variables it will work if searching between months and days but it does not work if I have different years. I will get all years printed out.

my date format is m/d/Y 6/13/2001

If I search for example start date = 6/01/2001 and the ending date = 6/09/2001

I will get the correct month and day dates but I also get anything from the year before and including year in the future.

Insert Server Date / Time Into Database
I currently have the following to insert a variable into a database:

$zip = $db->escape($_POST['zip']);
$db->query("INSERT INTO zip SET zips = '$zip'");

I would like to also add the date & time the submission was made.

Convert User Entered Date And Time To Unix Timestamp Before Inserting To Database
How do you convert a user inputted date to a unix timestamp before
insterting it into your database? I have a form, with a textfield for
a date that the user inputs in the format mm-dd-yyyy and three dropdow
boxes for hours, minutes, and AM/PM. All of these need to be considered
together and converted to one Unix Timestamp and then inserted to the
MYSQL date field. The type of field is INT (11) so that I can instead
of the standard 0000-00-00 format of MYSQL so that I can do better
calculations and queries.

Sort Results By Date/time, Limit 5 Database Entries Of Today &/or Upcoming Days
I'm designing a website for my fraternity and in the database I have entries which contain past events, todays events, and upcoming events.  My problem is that I can not figure out how to sort the query results to display:

1) only past events based on the CURRENT DATE
2) only the events which fall on the CURRENT DATE or after, limiting the results to 5 entries
3) all events that fall on CURRENT DATE or afterwards

Example:
Today is  September 15, 2007

Problem 1) Displaying all events that happened before September 15, 2007
Problem 2) Displaying only 5 results that fall on September 15, 2007 or after
Problem 3) Displaying all events that are happening on or after September 15, 2007

And obviously I would like the CURRENT DATE to change depending on what date it is, currently.

Ok so now I've been very redundant in my explanation of my problem here is the code and a link to what that particular page looks like. Code:

PHP / MySQL Time Format
I have a MySQL table with a datetime field that stamps the time the user
submitted the form. It works and looks like this:

$sql = "INSERT INTO table
VALUES(....now())";

On another php page to view results, the code:

printf("<br><td> %s</td>",
$newArray["datetime"]);

makes it looks like: 2005-02-15 14:44:51

I want it to look like:
Wednesday 15th of January 2005 05:51:38 AM

Php Function To Format Date's Time
I am retrieving results from an SQL query, one of which is a date

$arrival = $row['itin_arrival_day'];

I would like to write a PHP function that formats the date in the
following way:

If the time part of the date is of the form 2006-05-19 00:00:00 in
which the time is midnight, I would like the result to be printed as
"05/19/06 ---" but if the time is anything other than midnight, for

So P2DT23H32M51S means "A period of 2 days, 23 hours, 32 minutes, and 51 seconds". PnYnMnDTnH nMnS (e.g., P2DT23H32M51S)

How To Format Code In A SQL Query To Central Time ??
In the following string I have a system date and time that displays on a web page from the database. The problem I have is the web server is in a different time zone as I am.  Can someone tell me how to format this query to central time? Can this be done in MySQL? OR it has to be done in PHP?

Date Format Function Gone Bad
I am trying to clean up a DATETIME value from a Mysql database for presentation. So I am using the following basic function right out of devsheds recent article:

function cleanDate($val)
{
$arr = explode ("-", $val);
return date("M d, Y", mktime(0,0,0, $arg[1], $arg[2], $arg[0]));
}

Then feeding it a Mysql like DATETIME value for a test and echoing it to he page. Also I have added a current date echo to ensure that "it" knows that much.

$date = "2002-03-18 11:19:57";
echo "Updated " .cleanDate($date);
echo "<br>Todays date: " .date("F d, Y", mktime());

and here's my output....

Updated Dec 31, 1969
Todays date: March 20, 2002

Where have I gone wrong?

Date Format From MySQL In PHP
I've recently been successful in converting the MySQL date format YYYY-MM-DD to DD-MM-YYYY, but does anyone know of a way to actually format it so that it displays the corresponding months?

eg. 25-10-2003 = 25 Oct 2003

Convert A Date Format
I am displaying records from a table including a stored date. When
display $row[Date], i get the obvious 2006-05-21. However this is not
what the guy wants. He wants 21-May-2006.

I have tried several conversion functions but without success. I could
do a long winded function, but i hoped there would be a simple
solution.

MySQL / PHP Date Format
I am using php to call info from a mysql database. My date comes in format yyyy-mm-dd but I want it in dd-mm-yyyy. I know I need to use something like:

SELECT DATE FORMAT (date, %d-%m-%y)

But I'm not sure how to include it in my query which is also calling other items from the database:

$result1 = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM practice AS p, project AS t, regions AS r, gpcats AS c WHERE p.id = t.id AND t.region = r.region AND p.gpid = c.gpid AND gptext LIKE '%$search%' AND $region=0 AND '$cat'=&#390;'GROUP BY p.gpid ORDER BY verified DESC"

SQL Statement With DATE Format
i want to compare dates. The dates are like "2007-06-25".

What can I do?

Date Validation YYYY-MM-DD Format
Hi, I am using forms which input dates into a mysql table, these work fine. However I would like to validate these into the correct format which is YYYY-MM-DD. So I am guessing I need an ereg function which looks for a string of 4 followed by a dash, then 2 then a dash and finally two more.
The code I have so far is:

$date_pattern = "([0-9]{4})-([0-9]{1,2})-([0-9]{1,2})";
if (!preg_match($date_pattern,$EventStart))
{
echo ("<br>Wrong date format");
$FormValid="False";
