I have a list of things I need to do with my database - but this is my next hurdle - the delete query within my view records page. I want to be able to click on a button or link to delete a record in a table. I was envisaging that each record would have a delete button or link next to it and clicking that would remove it. Listing Table Data With An Option To Delete Each Individual Item.
Was wondering if anyone could help me with a PHP, MySQL problem. I am completely new to PHP and MySQL. I have been trying to find a way to list data from a table on a web page and after each individual item have a hyperlink to allow users to delete the information listed. Can anyone help? i.e. Name Age Sex ------------------------------------------ Adam 21 M delete Betty 22 F delete Chris 23 M delete Daisy 24 F delete ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (delete after 'Sex' would be the hyperlink to delete that entire line (row) from the table).
Delete Records
I`m just trying to figure out the best method to delete my records and wondered if it was possible to do a DELETE statement to remove any records that don`t match. Records Won't Delete

Update Multiple Records From One Page
Recently, I had a request to create a page in our database web interface where we can update multiple customer records from one page. Here's the flow of what we want to do: 1. Search for a customer by name. 2. Bring up a list of the matching customers and the data that is to be changed in text boxes in a table - one customer per row with 6 fields for each that can be modified (6 text boxes). 3. People can update the appropriate fields and click submit button. (** this is done to this point **) We may be returning as many as 250 records per search, so efficiency would be pretty important. I am not sure where to go from here. I would guess I should build and array of keys and values from the HTTP_POST_VARS that are submitted and then loop through them to UPDATE the database to the new values. I don't know how to do this, though.
OOP Page: Where To Put Update, Insert, Delete
I have a page that shows info from MySQL. It is for an online education site. It uses different classes arranged in a hierarchy. Each lesson is roughly laid out like this: Lesson |-Intro | |-Section | |-Procedure | |-text, video, images | |-Section | |-Procedure | |-text, video, images | |-Summary I have all the classes working properly for displaying info from the database. Now I am building the admin site. Where should I put the update/insert/delete code? Would those go inside the classes? Should I use the lesson object when doing the maintenance? Or, should I just have a separate page that handles the database stuff and only use the objects to display the data from the database?
MySQL DELETE: How To Get Page To Refresh?
I have a script that deletes records in a table. It works fine. However, it redirects the browser back to the page and the record stills shows there. Only after the page is manually refreshed does it disappear. I've used both header("Refresh...") and header("Location...") to accomplish the redriect, but no dice. The only thing that seems to work is if a unique URL is pushed into the address bar, which I do by appending md5(microtime()) to the end of the redirect URL.

Displaying Priorty Records And Normal Records In The One Dataset.
I have a page which displays the records from the database and uses paging to display the records in groupes of 10 per page. I now want to be able to show results depending on the database field (display) in the database (can be set to either "full" or "limited"). If the record and the field display is equal to "full" i want to then display this record at the top of the record set and display all the fields. If the record is equal to "limited" i want to display different results and they must show after all the records which are equal to "full". I can't output two different recordsets as i use paging and only want to show 10 records per page. Code:

Getting Name Of New Of View From MySQL 5.0+
We are using MySQL 5.0+ because it now supports views. However it appears that the PHP's(4.3) mysql_field_table() is returning a temporary name table name rather than the actual table (view) name. For instance we have a view defined as "open_meeetings_view", yet when we do a mysql_field_table() the name retrieved is "#sql_7a3a_1". The same call correctly retrieves all static tables and even aliases correctly. It does not appear that PHP has the ability to dig any deeper (maybe in PHP 5.0?), but does anyone know how to query MySQL for this information directly? A "show tables" does show the view names correctly. So we just need a way to correlate the temporary table "#sql_7a3a_1" back to the real view name "open_meeetings_view".

Directory-View With PHP
I've programmed an access-control via header()-function. It checks an username and password in database ... nothing special. Currently, the control gives access to a download, but I would like to allow special users to view the complete directory. AFAIK this is only possibly through ".htaccess" (Apache webserver). But then, I need to create an entry for each user in the database in the file :-( Would it be possible to allow this direclty through PHP? Of course, I could write dynamically into htaccess, but if several users would access the file at the same time ... URGHS :-)

Generating Tree View!
My problem is simple though I am not too sure if the solution is. I need to generate a tree view by using the data I have stored in the database.For example in the root I have stored SportsBrand now if I click on SportsBrand it will expand to show different names such as Addidas,Nike,Reebok etc.Again if I click on Addidas I will have different items such Shoes,T-shirts etc.I want to list the tree on the left side of the screen and once the user click the items s/he will see the related information on the right of the screen.Also if the user want to add any new brand it will be shown dynamically under the SportsBrand along with the items they are producing. Also if the user want to delete any brand I have to make sure the tree structure will be resized again. xampp(The development IDE) is using this Tree view. I have already progressed a bit by storeing the tree in database and running the queries.Now I need to develop the user interface and mapped it with the backend. Is there any tool in PHP that will help me to do this? I think in NETBEANS(Java IDE) they have a built in tool to generate this structure.

Add Option Modifiers
I am working on trying to create an admin for a product catalog, the only problem i am having involves product modifiers such as the ability to add size and color to the product that can also increase the cost of the product. I was wondering if anyone would know a really good way of going around to do this, the only way I can think of is having a product option table that would hold the value of the modifier plus the cost plus the product id that this references too plus its own special id.

My plan involves creating a support system which would be a standalone application on a Windows Workstation. This application would query data from a remote database SECURLY and then support personal would be able to modify, edit, etc. data from the PHP_GTK application which would in turn update data in the remote database, again securely. Can a PHP_GTK application support this, security being the biggest concern?
