Dynamically Populate PDF Form
I found a free script/class online a few months ago which enabled me to populate pre-built PDF forms with data using PHP; without using any toolkits etc (it worked perfectly). It was simply a PHP script. I lost the script when my PC died recently DOH!
Does anybody know where I can find such a script again? I have searched google all night, but all I find is commercial products (not cheap!) or toolkits for generating PDFs', not filling pre-built PDF forms. Here is what I am trying to do:
I have built a site for a client which incorporates e-learning. Students take lessons and if at the end of the course their grades are sufficient, they download a PDF certificate. The certificate is in PDF format with Form Fields for the required data. The certificate needs to display the students name, grade and course name. I need a PHP script which can import server-side data into a PDF form which the user can then print or save (flat). The last (and lost) script did this so I know it is possible.

Dynamically Populate Drop-down List And Dynamically Include Html File
We have a drop down list on a PHP page, with several product names, and when people click one item, we will refresh the same page with the product name as parameter, and in turn we want to include a HTML file into the content area of the same page. I know it is recommended to put everything into database, but we want the web site to be very "portable", so the drop-downlist and the content should both in text files. Let's say the drop-down list will be poplulated from the product.txt file, and there will be a file for each corresponding item in the drop-down list. From the user point of view, if he wants to add a new product, he will just need to open the product.txt file, and add a new line with the product name, "Laptop", then add a new text file named "laptop" in the same folder which contains the HTML fragment to be included in the content area. What is the easiest way to do this?
Dynamically Populate A Drop Down Box
I have a website with products for sale and along side each item I have displayed the number of each of these items that are left in stock. What I want to do is to have a dropdown box so that the user can choose the qty of itmes to order but they should not be able to order more than what is in stock. For example if there are 5 items left then the drop down box must be initialised at 0 and show the numbers 1,2,3,4,5. When a purchase is made then the drop down must be adjusted to match what is left in the database. Code:

Populate Form
I have a database of project number, client info, address, phone, ect. And I have a form to add data, and one to edit data... On the edit data form, I want to set it up so that when the project number is highlighted via a pull down list of active project numbers, that project number fill auto fill the form with the clients info from the database. Then, the user can edit this info...and submit the mofifications. Is this done with php, javascript, or ajax? Which is best? I'm pretty sure this could be done with php, but how? Can I get an example of code? a good starting point.

How To Populate HTML Form From PHP/MySQL
I have found many examples of how to access an HTML text field from PHP, but cannot find the reverse - how to load an HTML form from a MySQL database. Specifically, I have an HTML form which contains several text boxes that correspond to the fields in a MySQL file. What I want to do is call a PHP form that reads one record from MySQL and then populates all of the HTML fields on the calling form. The call to MySQL is not a problem - that works and I can use "Echo" to verify that I have successfully read a record. Now, how do I get that data back into the original HTML form?
Populate A Drop Down List In A Form On The Basis Of A First Selection
I have developed a form to register a property in a db. The form needs the selection of a country and then based on that selection the selection of regions from the selected country. I have a program which allows selection of a country and then a region but it uses java script which I would like to avoid. I also just wanted one submit button if possible. Code:
Add Fields To A Form Dynamically On The Fly

Link To Form Results Page Dynamically
I have a dropdown box that pulls information from a database. What I want to achieve is that when a caller selects an option, the option determines that page that comes up. I tried setting the form action to the name of the option, but this down not bring up anything; actually the resulting page is .php. I also tried moving the form action statement after ther selection, but that does not work either - the Submit button does not work. PHP Code:
Dynamically Generated Form And Update Problems
In brief, in the following 2 portions of code I build a form based on data retrieved from a database. The second bit of code receives the posted data for processing and updating the database. Problem is that the update occurs for the first row of data but none of the rest. I'm using a hidden field, written in dynamically ( name="tfHiddenId<?php echo $j ?>" ) where $j is a counter var in a loop. When I print out the POST_VARS everything is as I want to be, fields all named according ly, as above. Just the update either 1) only does one row and quits or 2) updates same row with the same data over and over ( I suspect the latter ). Apparently my counter variable is not being incremented, but only on one var, "tfHiddenId".$i , on the receiving page. Here's the code for where the form is built from the DB: PHP Code:
Multiple Submit Buttons In Dynamically Generated Form
I have one big form on a page, within which is a list of text fields pulled from a mysql db. Each text field has an 'update' button, which submits the main form, and should UPDATE the textfield it relates to. The problem is, all the buttons have value="Update" and I can't think of an efficient way of passing the unique id of each record to be submitted with it. Obviously, having a hidden field for each textfield won't work because the form will use the last one displayed.
Populate One Menu From Another
I thought this would be simple and there would be advice / tutorials everywhere for this, but now that I'm working on it, I can't find any reference except for ASP or Javascript code. PHP/MySQL - 3 form select menus: Project, Categories, Subcategories. When a Project is selected, the Categories list is populated based on Project selected, then Subcategories list is populated based on Category selected. I see this all over the Net, but through 10 books, there isn't anything specific. I think I get lost with some of PHP structure since I've been using DW - I end up editing most of it in order to follow it, but DW works pretty good for getting initial testing done. I just can't seem to find further guidance on this. So far I have:

Populate PDF Fields With PHP Variables
I have a HTML Form that needs to take the variables and place them into a PDF with the corresponding fields that I have created with acrobat. I guess there is a two-part question coming up. 1. What is the process of taking my HTML variables and placing them into the PDF fields in the PDF file I created? 2. Does PDFLib that I hear so much about accomplish this task?

Automatically Populate A Pull Down List...
What I want to do is have 2 pull down lists, for example a state pull down list and a city pull down list. What I would like to have done is when you select a state from the state pull down list then the city pull down list will populate with all the cities from that selected state. I know that is a lot of data but that is just an example. Or something like when you are looking up cars online they have a make pull down list and a model pull down list, and when you select the make it will populate the model pull down list with all the models from that make.
List Box Basics: Populate From Flie?
I have an html drop-down list (they're called combo boxes in vb, not sure what they're called in html): <select name="ipSelect" size="1" style="width:140px;"></select> The user is supposed to select an IP address from this drop-down list and then code will do stuff with the selected IP address. The list box needs to be populated with IP addresses that are stored in a flat file (which changes periodically). What's the best way to get the list of IP addresses from the file into the drop-down list? Would JavaScript be best since that would avoid delay from the client's perspective? Can this be done in PHP?

Returning An Array To Populate A Drop Down Menu
Scenario: two related tables (Many) 'patient' and (one) 'doctor'. In the patient table, each row has an entry for doctor_id. I have created a drop down menu on my patient form to input the doctor_id. The dropdown only shows the doctors' names. This menu is generated by a SELECT statement on the doctor table. The result of SELECT goes into an array, and then each element of the array is inserted into the dropdown with a 'while' loop. This works fine. However, I wish this dropdown to set itself to the correct doctor's name, when I retrieve a previously inputted patient record. That is, if patient 'Smith' is allocated to doctor 'Neo', the record is then saved, and later I retrieve the record: I wish to see doctor's name (Neo) as the default in the dropdown menu.
Populate MySQL With Multiple Text Box Entries
I have about 300 rows of mysql data which I have chosen to diplay with a text box at the end of each row, that is available for adding comments. I would like to be able to add comments to entries and then have an update scripte that would take the text box, named "MC" and place the data in its row identified by a hidden field which would corrrespond to the Primary Key of the MySQL Database. I've done something similar using check box arrays, ie. Checkbox name="MC[]" My question is whether I can write a script that would test for a value in the corresponding text box, and update the MySQL data accordingly. I have also provided in my display script that if the MC column is already populated in MySQL it will not display in the form.
Populate A Calendar Page With MySQL Data
I'm trying to figure out the best way to populate a Calendar page with data from a database. I have the code that will generate the Table with Days of the week, but I'm at a loss on how to populate this with data from a database. Do I build the calendar and then for every day that I generate a cell, query the DB or should I load the DB in an Array and compare that to the date of the cell?
How To Populate HTML Table From Local Text File.
I am looking for a way to populate an HTML table from an external local text file which looks like this: DATE/TIME LAT. LON. DEPTH. ML. -------------------- ---------- ---------- ------- ------- 21/03/2005-04:06:03 XX,XX XX,XX 171 3,42 21/03/2005-12:23:53 XX,XX XX,XX 500 5,4 21/03/2005-12:43:10 XX,XX XX,XX 553 5,38 21/03/2005-18:47:51 XX,XX XX,XX 162 3,91 21/03/2005-19:29:49 XX,XX XX,XX 500 3,51 21/03/2005-20:04:51 XX,XX X,X 75 3,72 The file could have more rows (DATA) that I show here. The file is provided to me on a daily basis and I have to update a web page daily with the contents of the file. I considered using JavaScript embedded in the HTML page but I am a newbie on what scripting for the web it refers. How can I populate the HTML table with this text file which changes everyday. Also, is it possible to use php client-side only, without a server?

How To Dynamically Name Variables?
Lets say I have variables named: name1, name2, name3, and name4. How can I call them without having to name them everytime. Something like for ($i=1; $i<=20; $i++){ if $"name".$i { do this } I've tried everycombination I can think of, but am totally confused. I had no trouble naming the variables dynamically in a form, but I can't get php to call them dynamically.
PHP To Dynamically Generate XML
I am interesting in using PHP to dynamically create an XML document and then use XSLT to transform to XHTML. I have come across two methods for doing this. I made two equivalent examples so you can see what I mean. http://members.shaw.ca/petermichaux...SLT_method.html I am interested in critisim of how I implemented each method. However my main problem is deciding between methods. Which method is better for bigger programs where the bits of the XML data are assembled by various php functions that I write? For example, one php function queries a database table for a list of CD titles. A second php function loops through this CD title list and gets the track listing for each CD from another table in the database. Then the composite XML data (ie. CD title and tracks as nodes) can be tranformed to XHTML.
Dynamically Naming Variables
i have this script for that uses 7 pulldowns for the time of an event each day of the week that gets inserted in to a db. Instead of writing the script 7 times for taking the data from the pulldowns, creating a time based on the hour, minute and AM/PM -can i create something that dynamically creates varibles. Basically takes something like $hour1, $minute1 and automatically creates $hour2, $minute2 and so on. This is kinda difficult to explain, heres a snippit of code which i want to duplicate.

So, if the original is 360 px wide by 540 px high, the image will automatically size to 108 px high by 72 px wide. How would I do this?
