Select List/Menu Using PHP And MYSQL
Here is my code:
<select name="country" class="sidelinks"> <?php do { ?> <option value="<?php echo $row_AllCountries['country_ID']." ";?>"<?php if ($row_AllCountries['country_ID'] = $acountry) { echo "selected"; }?> > <?php echo $row_AllCountries['countryname'];?></option> <?php } while ($row_AllCountries = mysql_fetch_assoc($AllCountries)); ?> </select>
A few words to describe: -$row_AllCountries['country_ID'](get from MySQL) is a unique country ID number -$row_AllCountries['countryname'](get from MySQL) is the name of the country -$acountry is the country ID number that i want to be selected when the form loads
I have all the values and country names named OK...the only problem is that when the form loads it selects the last country.

Drop Down Menu Where The Items Are From A MySQL Select Query
I am just starting programming in PHP and wonder if it is possible to have a drop down menu where the items are from a MySQL select query. I am registering people for a weekend seminar and want to have a list of valid weekends to choose from on the form. Any pointers to scripts or PHP references that will help would be appreciated. I am using the book "Build your Own Database Driven Website Using PHP & MySQL" to get me started, but also need recommendations for a general primer to php.

Can You Read A Value Into A List Menu?
a system i am developing has both a user and an admin side. The user can add a record and then the status of this is initially set to a fixed value. What I am wondering is, if i stick with a list of say 4 possible status', how can i get whatever status the admin changes the record to to be "sticky" on the menu the next time he looks at the call, as opposed to the menu showing the default value set in dreamweaver?

Flat File List Style Menu
I'm trying to build a Menu Building out of flatfiling with a section to add new areas to it. The idea behind it is to have a header for each section (as the top order list item) then each one below is a link of that category. I already figured I'm buillding it with limits (20 items Max per heading) and that to do it I will simply have each Heading/links in it be a new row in the document. example row Tips tips.php Tips on Php, file tips File Tips tips/files.php, etc etc With the first item of each row being the Heading and each other being the ones under it My question is What delimiters should I use to seperate in the row (I need to separate each item by 1 delimiter and then in each row separate the href, alt, name) Secondly for rewrtiign it should I simply write it so each time it rewrites the whole file or should I try and do string replacing and do modify sorta deal.

Retrieving Full Entry From Multiple Select List
I have a list box with multiple selects. I define the name as numList[]. I get the values from $picked = $_POST['numList']; It retrieves values for all those selected. If the entries are, say, First Second Third and the first and third are select then $picked[0] has "First" and $picked[1] has "Third". If, however, the entries are: First one Second one Third one Then the values are for $picked[0] and $picked[1] are "First" and "Third" respecticely. How do I retrieve the entire value and not just the first word?
Retrieving Contents Of Select List On Form Submit
On an HTML form, I have a select list that is fed dynamically with detail records when the master record is displayed on the form. There is also a second lookup list, and want to allow the user to dynamically select from this list and add to the first list. I also want the user to be able to dynamically remove from and reorder the first list. I think I can do all of this with JavaScript. The question I have, is how can I retrieve the contents of the first list when the user submits the form? I need to get it back into a php array so I can update and add the proper database records.
Select From Drop List To Fill Table Column With Text -- HOW ?
I want viewers to compare state laws on a single subject. Imagine a three-column table with a drop-down box on the top. A viewer selects a state from the list, and that state's text fills the column below. The viewer can select states from the drop down lists above the other two columns as well. If the viewer selects only one, only one column fills. If the viewer selects two states, two columns fill. Etc. I could, if appropriate, have a separate htm page with the text for each state -- california.htm for example. When the viewer selects California from the drop down list, the column below would "fill" with California.htm. Or, I could conceivably use a text or mysql database with two fields for each record: state_name and law_text -- but it would probably be easier to use separate htm files, since there will only be about 20 states involved, and the "database" would never have a large number of records. The table width would be 100% and each cell would be @33% My site is designed with FP 2002 and runs on Apache/FreeBSD. I have just had Apache-ASP installed but I have not yet configured or used the module.
Mysql Php Dynamic Menu
I am trying to write a script that will create dynamically a menu from MySQL database. The database table is a product categories table and it has the folowing filed: category_id, parent_category_id, category_name (some other fileds are there as well but these are enough to figure out the logic) I know that I have to store all the product_categories records in a temp array and then some how go through them and store the level of each record in the menu.... If you have done something like that I suppose you know what I mean and I would much appreciate to give me a hint here ... I had a look in the phpLayersMenu from sourceforge but it is really advanced OO code and I cannot understand the logic.... My target is to create a Tree menu with no pre - defined number of records...
Mysql / Dropdown Menu
what i am trying to do is to make a system with a few input pages and edit and read pages.. so right now i got the input/edit/read pages working. (yay) But now I want to have on 1 input page a dropdown menu that reads its information from the database. and that if i go to the page i can select a value out of the db and submit that inside my form and that it reminds the value if i view or edit the page. So what i got now is a little system that is able to add/remove/edit a value inside a field called "drop01" Well now i got a other input page called "input01.php" inside this script i want to have the dropdown menu that reads its values from the "drop01" field. PHP Code:
[PEAR:QuickForm] Dynamically Change A Dropdown Menu According To Another Menu?
I've been using QuickForm for a few months now and I am now given a new challenge: I've got a search form with a dozen of dropdown menus, the first dropdown menu being "Brand". If you select either Brand A, B, C, D... Z, the second dropdown menu "Model" must be dynamically changed to model AA, AB, AC, AD..., according to the models manufactured by the brand selected in the first box. I've seen that done on quite a few sites, but never found if QuickForm had a quick & clean way of doing that.
MySQL Database In A Pulldown Menu

Search Drop Down Menu To Choose Mysql Table
I have currently made a simple PHP search script which, when data is entered in a text box and it's submitted, it queries a table in a MYSQL database and returns information. This works. However, I want to have a combo box beside the text box with options to query different tables depending on which item in the combo is selected. At the moment it searches a news articles table by content and title. But I want to adapt the script so that it searches another table which holds information on people for example. It currently gets the item from the text box with the code:
MySQL Select
Just a qucik question. I need to display everything from the table where the data is not null, apart from username, as they'll always have a username. So far I just have this, which is on the assumption they have entered their name. $get = "SELECT * from profiles WHERE name IS NOT NULL LIMIT 30"; Is there a way I can basically make it say. Select * from profiles where * but username is NOT NULL?
Php/mysql Select

MySQL+PHP Select One Row
I'm sure it has been asked a thousand times before, but still: How can I access a particular row in my MySQL table via PHP? The background is just to update the values of one row in the table via a html form with the old values already filled in. What I tried so far ist sth like this: $row=mysql_query('SELECT * FROM names WHERE ID=$entry'); for ($i = 0; $i < mysql_num_fields($row); $i++) { echo("<td>$row[$i]</td> "); } The mistake should be that mysql_query does not return a vector, but still a table... Does anybody have a good idea how to solve that problem?
MYSQL SELECT?
