We are running SunONE 6.1 (formely iPlanet) on a Solaris 8 server with PHP
4.3.8 (but this problem was appearing from 4.3.3). We can't seem to find a
pattern to make these lines appear in the logs..

Upload Files - Use IE I Get Errors?
I have created a page in my admin section that enables me allow the admins of the site to upload photos to a certain folder. I am using a HTML form linked to a PHP file to process the upload and move it to the folder. I have the above part working, sort of, but I also want to add some inputs in a form to the same page that will allow the 'uploader' to insert information about the photo, photographer into a table in the database which can then be accessed to 'echo' this information when the photo is reproduced on the site. There is a problem with the upload photo part of the page, if I use Firefox I can upload JPEG's with no problem. If I use IE I get errors? I now know that IE files must be pjeg? Is there anyway of getting around this problem in IE?

Supress Errors At The Page Level? Undefined Index Errors.
I'm creating a simple reply form, and if a form item isn't answered I get an error: "Notice: Undefined index: rb_amntspent in c:inetpubwwwrootmackinawsurvey.php on line 36" even if in the code I allow for an unselected item. (Code at the bottom here.) It works fine otherwise. Now in the past I've made a change to php.ini to repress errors, but for this project I don't have access to the php.ini. Is there a way to supress errors on that page for that session? Or, is there a way to just not get that error at all? Here's a sample of the code that gets the form response. Solaris IDE
im kicking around the idea of purchasing a sparc workstation because: 1) they are really cheap on ebay. 2) i always wanted to give one a shot. 3) they are really cheap on ebay. Since i do php development, is there any decent IDE for php development out there that will run on sparc sunos? anyone doing development on a sparc? Compiling PHP On Solaris
Not sure if this is the best place to ask this, I am trying to compile PHP 5.2 on a Solaris 9 system. I need Oracle DB support so can't use the pre compiled packages on blastwave as I don't think anyof them include Oracle. Trouble On Solaris 8
I'm installing Apache 2.2, PHP 5.04, and mySQL 4.0.21 on a Solaris 8 machine using prebuilt binaries from sunfreeware.com. My apache install went smoothly - the only thing I'm having to work around is an inability to use /usr/local - it's an NFS mount to a central image, so I'm installing in /opt/local. After installing PHP and modifying httpd.conf, I get the following error on startup: httpd: Syntax error on line 110 of /opt/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf: API module structure `php5_module' in file /opt/local/apache2/modules/libphp5.so is garbled - perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO? Now, I have to confess that I don't have mysql installed yet, but I would think that simply loading the php module wouldn't require this, would it? A search for this message shows one other user has seen it recently, but no resolution online. No hint in /var/apache/logs - no mention of php at all in any of the logs. Any clues as to what could be causing this?

Installing PHP 5.2.1 On Solaris
I've been following the install guide on the PHP website and everything has gone fine up until where I'm stuck now. I've got Apache installed and running, and I've ran ./configure in the PHP directory with the necessary flags. However, the next step in the process listed in the guide is to do a make. BUt when I do that, this is what I get: Code: make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop. There's nothing in the install guide that says I have to specify a makefile, and it isn't covered in the FAQ either.

Hi there. Had a look around google and found one post from someone with almost the same error and no reply. SunOS webdb 5.8 I have been trying to install PHP to work with Apache and it all works fine apart from trying to run php from bash. ../configure --with-sybase=/usr/local/freetds --with-tdsver=7.0 --with-apxs=/ usr/apache/bin/apxs --with-mysql=/opt/sfw/mysql --enable-sockets All fine... /opt/sfw/bin/gmake install # echo $LD_RUN_PATH /usr/local/ssl/lib:/opt/sfw/mysql/lib/mysql This all works fine with PHP and Apache but when trying from bash I get the error.. # /usr/local/bin/php /usr/local/bin/php: error: /usr/local/bin/.libs/php does not exist This script is just a wrapper for php. See the libtool documentation for more information. I tried a few more things without success and even tried creating `.libs` incase it was a permission problem when it was compiling - still zilch.

PHP On Solaris (2.6) And Integer Overflow
I have PHP version 4.4 installed on a Soaris 2.6 system and I'm getting strange results doing math/boolean operators. I have a hashing algorithm that does multiplication, bitwise operations and mod() calls interatively on the characters of a filename. On a linux platform the multiplications start to overflow (as I expect) and the overflow is just dropped. The lower three bytes are masked off like this: $result = $result & 0x00FFFFFF; and the loop continues. On the Solaris platform the multiplication fails very quickly in the loop, and it looks like the overflow bits are wrapped around onto the lower order bytes, eventually I end up with an interger value of 0x00FFFFFF because of the masking above. To solve the problem I had to compile the gmp_* function support into PHP and work with the gmp_* family of functions.

Can't Build Apache/PHP/MSSQL On Solaris
Having read everything I can, and compiled apache/php 30/40 times, I cannot seem to get a static version of PHP working with FreeTDS. I know the FreeTDS drivers for MSSQL are working, cos it took minutes to install the Perl Drivers. However, the PHP drivers just will not work ! The BBs/Forums all seem to complain about exactly the same problem, and the only success stories are for Linux. Is this because PHP isn't supported as well as Perl ? Has anyone out there got PHP running on Sparc to talk to an MSSQL server ?

Can run sabcmd with no problems. But when running a simple php script, it cannot find the sablotron functions. So it does not appear to be linking the Sablotron stuff. Xampp For Solaris X86, Need Zipped File
trying to get xampp....0.8.1.sh for solaris 9 x86. I only have access to the web via a windows box to download the .sh file. Windows corrupts the file so can not get it to the unix box tied up behind a firewall. Can anyone do a gzipped version of the xampp file for me?

My objective is a pure 64 bit shared object installation of php 5.0 on UltraSparc Solaris 9 compiled with the Sun Compiler version 8. Errors In Php 5.0.4 Not In 4.3.10-16
I use the following statements: $var = ""; $var = $_POST('varname'); In php 4, when 'varname' was not defined, $var remained an empty string; In php 5, I suddenly get errors. I solved these by including the function array_key_exist to check the occurence of 'varname' Is this the prefered way or is ther a better solution?

PHP 404 Errors
Some of my visitors keep emailing me about "404 page errors" on my website even though the pages are working perfectly. I have had this problem before , I figured it out and it was because of my "generators" which uses pure PHP codings like this - http://www.generators.hot-lyts.com/linkgen.php. I had the solution, I made a sub domain and since then I wasn't getting anymore error mails however it occurs again, I have checked the new pages I've added recently and deleted some of them but I still have no luck, I still get tons of mails about this error pages and it is really frustrating because my hits have been dropping big time. I have an eval(...) and sometimes, (not often), i get an error. I can catch the error quite easily, if( FALSE === eval($code )) { // output the code echo ( htmlentities($code ); } That does give me the error and the code but how can i get the code to be nicely lined up, or even have line numbers in front? Just to make it easier to debug.

OCI.dll Errors!
I keep getting OCI.dll errors when trying to open php via my browser on abyss web server X1 (2.4), It keeps giving me these errors, and all I can do is press okay. PHP.INI Errors
I am having errors reported in my apache log files about a php.ini error, specifically that: PHP: Error parsing /etc/php.ini on line 278 .... I can not find an issue with line 278. After removing all the comments from my php.ini file and reloading apache I still get the same error, even though there is no longer 278 lines in /etc/php.ini file. host -{ The server }- is blocked because of many connection errors. Unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts' anyone know why this message show up allot of times and goes away only after restarting mysql and apache ? is there a other way if fixing this ?

Display Errors Is Both On And Off
I have a website in which PHP errors are displayed, despite having them configured to not display. Here is a test file I created to explore this: <?php echo ini_get( 'display_errors' ); phpInfo(); ?> The ini_get says "On", the phpInfo says "Off" (for display_errors in the PHP Core section). PHP 5.0.4 I'm struggling to understand how, at runtime, I get these conflicting reports. The configuration files all say display_errors is OFF, and phpInfo agrees, but PHP acts like they are on, and ini_get shows why.

Displaying Errors
php_info(); for display_errors variable says: Off, Off. I tried the error_reporting(E_ALL);, but nothing happens. If I have an error somewhere, PHP just silently dies, no output whatsoever. Which variable has to be set so that error_reporting() function works, but no errors/warnings are displayed if the error_reporting() wasn't executed (admins don't want to have display_errors On globally)? Trapping Errors
Is there a clean way to trap errors in PHP? In Perl there is eval { <code> } and a special variable that can be checked to see if the execution of the code was successful or not, and thus a clean way to trap the error without it killing the entire script. Is there something similar in PHP?

I'm trying to intergrate a cgi affiliate tracking system into a php website. When someone pays using PayPal it's supposed to direct them to one page if the payment is a success or another if payment failed.
