Let's say i have two tables,
table_one;
userid,userinput,indexno
table_two;
cond,qant,amp,indexno
the indexno in table_one and table_two are the same.if i choose to delete one row of data in table_one,i want the data with the same indexno in table_two be deleted as well.
how can i achieve this?

I have code that does not delete from a database. The same code (cut an paste in the same file, but different function and having a different query) works. So, of course, I tested the query interactively. I echoed the query and did a cut and paste when interactively connect to the database. That one worked so it isn't the query since interactively it is seeing exactly the same thing as the code produces. I am building a lunch ordering system for a company. The employees can login, order lunch, and the administrator can see what everyone ordered for lunch in the admin panel. The problem is that when the employees enter data, it stays in the database until they update it. If an employee is sick, their lunch order from the previous day is still in the database. Is there a way to clear those values they enter at a certain time in MySQL.

Recursive Database Delete
I have two tables in my database, one for the folders, where each folder has a parent id and an id itself, and one for the files where each file has a parent id for the folder its in. How To Delete MySQL Database.
I've got three hostings with the GoDaddy hosting service. The hostings are supposed to provide only one MySQL database each. I've just recently noticed in the phpMyAdmin program that separate databases, each with the name "test," has appeared in two of the three hostings. I don't know how they got there. I didn't put them there. I contacted GoDaddy's technical support. They said that the "test" databases automatically comes with the phpMyAdmin program. Of course, that's not right. Anyway they said that I could delete the extra database without damaging anything.

I have a table that give a unique ID to certain Articles. To give the ID i simply use the Auto count of the DB. But what happens when i delete a record? i am now missing an ID. How To Delete All Database Entires Older Than 30 Days?
One of the fields in my database is called ad_date which is of date type and stored dates int he format YYYY-MM-DD. I would like to perform a DELETE SQL statement in my PHP script which deletes all records with an ad_date value older than 30 days. I knoy this is also an SQL question, but it is the 'older than 30 days' part which I'm stuck with and so figured it would be better in the PHP forum as I think I need to use PHP to calculate todays date - 30 days.

I'm looking for some functions or objects allowing to select-insert-update-delete from any table in a mysql database without the need to create a new query every time. When I run the script below, it results in a timeout. Running the commands through phpMyAdmin, results in a timeout too. Table1 has 40,000 records and Table2 has 35,000 records. How do I build a simple login page on my site? I need a way to login to my admin area in my webshop, so I can add, delete and edit things in mysql database. I don't need help with add, delete and change things, only the login thing. The users should not even know that there is a admin login page. Comparing Database Data And New Data
I am trying to create a PHP script that reads in a file, parses it for the data I want and compares it to the data I have in a database. The data is points and ranking information for a Folding@Home Team. Every week someone creates a news item with points gained by each team member for that week and other info. This is done manually and takes a lot of time. I hope for my script to automate as much of it as possible. The script was to run as follows: Download and parse latest statistics into 2D array Compare usernames in array to usernames held in Database Any new usernames and their respective points/rank to be added to database Compare points in 2D array of each user to those held in database. Output username and points gained I thought I had a working script until I actually tested it on real data, and realised I missed something rather obvious - the order of usernames from the parsed file is not going to be the same order as in my database - due to people moving up and down the ranks. So i can't just get a recordset from the db and run a simple loop to compare it to the parsed data. I am not sure how to go about comparing the database information with the parsed data that works around the fact the data could be in any order. The only thing i can think of is: foreach item in $parsed_data_array query database for $parsed_data_array=>username if(number of results == 0) build new insert query for current username else continue I don't know if this works [haven't tested yet] but I can't help feel it is a little DB intensive. There could be up to 200 queries being sent to the database. This can be minimized by adding extra criteria, like ignoring inactive users of course. Is this a viable solution or is there a much better way of doing this?

Data From Database Lag
I am having trouble on my photo gallery. Users have the ability to comment on a picture. That works fine, the info is put into the DB no problem. however when the page is reloaded or refreshed the last entry does not show up until another comment is made, at which point the newest comment still doesnt show up. I just don't get it, I have searched everywhere and can not find what I am doing wrong. I am familiar with SQL, but I typically use ASP, Access so this MySQL thing is very new. Sending Data To My Database
I have ms access database (im know mysql is better but please bare with me) and within it is a product list. That product list is called and displayed on my product page. After the price of an item has been echo'ed out i have a small text field where the user of the system is required to type the product id ($ProductId) on all the items they wish to select and then proceed to click submit. Once the submit button has been pressed i want to send all of the data typed into the little text fields into a single cell separated by commas in the database. I have some basic code that doesn't correctly do what i want it to. If more than 3 products are listed on a page and i type the product id for any items not in an order E.g. Product 1 <----i want this one Product 2 Product 3 Product 4 Product 5 <-----I wantthis one I just get ',,,' sent tothe database however if i type product id like this: Product 1 <----i want this one Product 2 <----I want this one as well Product 3 <----i want this one too Product 4 Product 5 I get 1,2,3 sent into the database.
