Display Of Mysql Table Result...
I have a mysql table of articles with fields: - recordID - department - articleTitle - articleText Using PHP, I'm attempting to get the results of the table to display as follows: Department 1 - articleTitle 1 - articleTitle 2 - etc.... Department 2 - articleTitle 1 - articleTitle 2 - etc.. I figure I should use a while loop but can't figure out how to exit/reset the loop when a new 'department' is encountered in the $result.

Display A Preferred Group As First Result
My database has my stuff and competitors items for sale. I have written a PHP search script that allows users to dynamically select what criteria they want to base their search. Results will always be formatted in an ASC order based upon price. What I want to do is Group these results by vendor and then have my Group always display first? I am using the latest MySQL, PHP4x, and Apache. I've tried a CASE statement but the results were spiradic: I obviously did it wrong and I wasn't sure it would ever work. Currently, I'm thinking about the following: SELECT * FROM idxdownloansfm, fa WHERE $sqlZ AND EXISTS (SELECT * FROM fa LEFT JOIN idxdownloadsfm ON fa.LO_NAME=idxdownloadsfm.LO_NAME WHERE fa.LO_NAME = 'FIRST ADVANTAGE ERA' ORDER BY LO_NAME;

Array Explode Problem Result In A 6 Item Array

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Page Numbering - Display A Set Amount Of Records From My Result.
I am having a problem with trying to display a set amount of records from my result. I have modified the Page Numbering tutorial from this site and adapted it to use MSSQL. I have verified that the correct values for my variables are being passed to the query. The calculation for the records that should be displayed per page is correct. The total number of records returned from my query is correct. And the calculated number of total pages to be displayed is correct. So, initially it displays the first 10 results as it should, and has the pages numbers at the bottom. The problem is, when I click on a different page number the same 10 results are ALWAYS displayed. Even though my $page variable IS being updated. Code:

However, when I echo each array element is doesn't output the whatever the print_array_inline function does. Any suggestions?

Result Of Array Diff()
I'm successfully able to compare two different arrays with array_diff(). The result of this comparison is, of course, assigned to a new array. Unfortunatly (for my purposes) the array indeces of the resulting matching items are retained, yet empty: [a][b][empty][d][empty][empty][g] - and so on. I'm wondering if there's a built-in function that would sequentially assign all non-empty index items of my array_diff() result to a second array, like: [a][b][d][g] I know I can do this with a loop, but am wondering if there's already a function to handle this.

Sort A Mysql Result According To A Php Array
Hi everybody ! I have a question for the gurus ;+) I have to arrays : PHP Code: $id = array(45,9,21); $pos = array(3,1,2); I select in my mysql table using the ids : PHP Code: $sql = "SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE id IN(".implode("",$id).")"; and I now want to sort the result according to the $pos array. Is there a way to do this directly in mysql ? If not, what would be the smartest way to do it in PHP ? Because I would prefer NOT to do the following : PHP Code: while ($t = mysql_fetch_array($ret)) { Â Â Â Â $a_field1[] = $t["field1"]; Â Â Â Â $a_field2[] = $t["field2"]; Â Â Â Â $a_field3[] = $t["field3"]; Â Â Â Â $a_field4[] = $t["field4"]; ... } array_multisort($pos,$a_field1,$a_field2,$a_field3,$a_field4) I fear it could be a very time consuming process when there is a lot of results and a lot of fields. But may be the no other solution... Thanks

MySQL Result To Real Array In Function
I'd like to create a function which input is the result of a mySQL query. The output should be exactly the same, only not a mySQL result array, but a 'real' array.
