I am trying to use the mail() function, and I keep get the following error that says SMTP server response: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for any e-mail. My host did something a couple of months ago to their mail server to make it more secure. YOu now have to delare more variables or something. Date Function On Local Server To Remote Host
This little combo was giving me Sunday, April 30 on my local server and Thursday, April 1 on my remote host, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I could swear it used to work. I made a script to send email with php . It worked perfectly on Linux server.. Now I tried to run it on Windows server and there is no response... Mail Function And Smtp Problems
I'm in the process of building a web-site. The script i've written for registering an account send an e-mail to a user specified e-mail address containing instructions for account activation. My problem is that the e-mails wont send. I know this is something to do with smtp and mailservers. My knowledge in this particular area is minimal however, and i simply cannot find any competent documentation, explaining what i need to do, anywhere. My isp is AOL and i would like to use their smtp server if possible for sending the e-mails. I've changed the configuration of php.ini to connect to them. I do know that this requires authentication, but i have no idea how to do this. Test Mail() On Development Machine W/o Smtp Server
My development machine (WinXP, Apache 2.2.4) does not have an smtp server, and I don't really want to install one if I can help it. Does anyone know of a simple method of testing php scripts that employ mail() by simulating an smtp server and directing output to a text file or to an installed text editor. Right now I can modify the script to use something instead of mail(), then change it when I put into production, but I would really like to test the script in its production form w/o having to actually send email.

Upload From Local Host To Server Using Ftp Functions
On my website I upload files from local computer to my server using FTP functions in PHP. It all works perfectly when I run the script from my pc, but once it s on the server it can t find the file. ftp_put(): error opening C:Documents and SettingsAlexanderDesktop r1_1.jpg I guess it happens cos it tries to find it on the server not on my PC. The question is, how can I point it to my pc, not server. Or how can I make it copy files from my local computer to the server while running from the server!

Mail() Not Getting To Gmail Or Yahoo
The site I'm working on has the need to send out e-mails to its users (account creation, modification, etc). I've just been using the mail() function to do this with no problems... until I tested the functionality with my gmail account. No dice. I did some reading and found that others who were having the gmail problem also could not get emails to yahoo, so I got an account there and tried it... also no dice. I've been all over the net trying different header tricks, I've checked my server info at dnsreport (found a NS problem but it has been corrected), I can verify the header information looks correct through my pop mail program, I don't get a single error when the script runs... it just... doesn't work. I have another domain on the exact same box that sends a notification to my gmail account every night via a cron job script that I got over a year and a half ago. That notification works just fine, so I know that it isn't a server setting or something else I don't have control over. I've looked through the code for that script and can't made heads or tails of it to be honest... it does a bunch of crazy header stuff with boundary strings and base64 encoding because its job is to send a backup file. The real kicker is that my friend who also has a gmail account received a notice from the script about two weeks ago when he tested it for me. I had a relative test it about a week ago and of the 4 or so e-mails they should've gotten from the script, they got 2. They have a Yahoo account. In my own testing, nothing is getting through. My host did just recently move me to a new box... I guess that might have something to do with it, but it doesn't make sense that it would work for one of my domains and not the other. Mail() Function - Using The Mail() Function To Send Emails To Members Of A Website
I am using the mail() function to send emails to members of a website. For some reason when I include words such as "free" or "winner" the mail does not send to any of the addresses - it just seems to disappear in space. I figured this out by trial and error - once I removed those words, it worked. I am running cPanel on the server and have no problem sending emails as long as they don't use those words. It seems to be blocking certain words - ones that I assume spammers would use.

Mail() Not Working To Y But Works To Gmail
A simple mail example like... <? mail("acco...@yahoo.com","Subject of Message","Message"); ?> does not work to yahoo or spymac.com, but the same works to gmail and other servers. Yahoo and others does not even receive the message. Inbox and Bulk folders stay empty. Does anybody have an idea why yahoo or other servers does not receive the messsage?
