Im using php.exe on win2k. When I visit a php page i get page cannot be
displayed. Other pages work fine. Any ideas? the php dll wont work at all,
it refuses to read the ini file at all.
Really anonying, cant figure this out.

I have a site in PHP with a page 'approveMembers.php' within 'approve' directory under the site directory. This site has been hosted on net. Now the problem is when i access this page from my machine that uses a proxy server to connect to the internet, the contents get displayed properly. However, when i use a machine that connects to the internet directly (without using a proxy), the contents do not appear in the page even though the status bar read 'Done' after loading the page. OS: Windows 2003 Server Program: EasyPHP1.8 Changed port to 81 in httpd.conf, rebooted and everything.... 127.0.0.1:80 still connects to the index page 127.0.0.1:81 doesnt connect (Page cannot be displayed) 192.168.1.181:80 & 192.168.1.181:81 doesnt connect either (192.168.1.181 is the computers IP) Is there any configuration I have to do with Windows Server 2003? I have installed j2sdk1.4.2_14 to work with my php-4.3.9-3.15. And i have follow all the step from head to tail. Now, i suppose to just create a simple php coding on java function. When i exec the page...it did not show any error but just 'The page cannot be displayed'. I want to test different content on a landing page to see which my visitors like the most. Version A is to be shown 50% of the time, Version B to be shown 50% of the time. i am including the ability for users to attach images to their posts. Now they can attach more than one image. First time round. the image gets uploaded and everything works fine. second time round though. i get a 'page cannot be displayed' error. Session :: Problems With This Web Page Might Prevent It From Being Displayed Properly
when i add php session <? session_start(); header("Cache-control: private"); // IE 6 Fix. ?> I just get this error "Problems with this web page might prevent it from being displayed properly bla bla". Of course am adding those lines just the first thing in each page b4 anything else. so am getting that error in pages that have template applied to it. and when i delete the session lines it just back to normal. PHP Pages Getting 404 Error, "Page Cannot Be Displayed"...
I tried putting this into the PHP Installation forum but don't get any answers or suggestions there so I'm going to try it here and hope it doesn't get moved. I'm on a Windows 2003/PHP 5.22 setup. I'm TRYING to upgrade from PHP 5.02 which did work on my server and quite well. I followed the upgrading and installation instructions layed out on the PHP.net set -- I still can't get it to work. The install dumped all the PHP related files under "c:program filesphp". I've ensured that path is in my windows PATH statement for my env vars. I've also verified that "c:program filesphpphp-cgi.exe" is in my Web Service Extensions listing in IIS and the status is set to "Allowed". From the command-line, I can execute my "test.php" file that has the phpinfo(); info function in it and it works fine. It's only when I try to use my web browser to access the php file that I get the 404 error, "page cannot be displayed". I know that IIS in general is working ok because I can point it to the default http://servername/iisstart.htm and it resolves to that page just fine. It's only when I change it to http://servername/test.php (which has my phpinfo()) function in it when I get the 404 error. My web server just doesn't seem to be interpretting PHP files anymore and I can't figure out why.

No PHP Error. Just "Page Cannot Be Displayed"
I was wondering if someone could explain why I'm receiving this error. It's like a 404 error but I think it might be something else. Basically, I have a page where a user inputs his email address. The system is supposed to look up the email address and send the associated password to that email address. It worked up until a few months ago. Note that the validation works. So, if the user tries to submit a blank text box, it returns an error. If the email address is not found, it returns an error "Email not found." But if the email is valid, it just dies. This code worked a few months ago when I initially wrote it....

PHP 4 On Win2k&IIS
I have installed php 4 but when i try to open one of my php pages(the one they included to test or any other php page) i get a bunch of "can't find x.dll" errors. In my php.ini I have the correct extension_dir(extension_dir="C:InetpubscriptsPHPEXTENSIONS"). And the dlls are in that directory but it still gives me errors. Any idea how to correct this? I stopped/started IIS and restarted windows like it told me to in the install process.

Php 5.0.1 IIS 5 Win2k-AS
New installation of php 5.0.1 on a new windows 2000 advanced server running IIS 5. Followed all the instructions for manual installation. Trying to get the browser to open a php page results in an authentication dialog box. Repeatedly pressing "OK" in Mozilla just keeps bringing up the authentication dialog. Pressing cancel results in "HTTP 401.1 - Unauthorized: Logon Failed". Pressing cancel in IE results in "HTTP 401.3 - Access denied by ACL on resource" IUSR DOES have proper permissions to the content folders and asp scripts work fine. Any ideas?

I've administrated various types of servers and set-up countless development environments for PHP and MySQL I've never created a full production server before, relying on service/hosting providers to do this for me. So, I'm looking for any advice on setup, bugs, tutorials, technical resources, thoughts, or experiences. Maybe this could become a sticky for technical/security setups? Who knows... Installed PHP version is V 5.0.4 Installed folder locations: Apache: E:Program FilesApache GroupApache2 PHP 5: E:usrPHP5 I added the above path to the PHP folder to the PATH environment variable. Using Mail() On IIS5 (win2k)
Ok, i've never used mail() yet on IIS. Have Win2k Server, IIS 5, PHP 4.0.6. tried making a simple script: Code: <?php if(!mail("myemail@mydomain.com","Test","This is a test")) { echo "Email failed."; } ?> Didn't work, got: Warning: Failed to Receive in E:inetpubwwwrootstaff estemail.php on line 9 ok, smtp must not be set in the php.ini. this is where i'm kinda confused. I go to the server, open up php.ini, SMTP = localhost so i change that to the IP the SMTP service is listening on. restart IIS, load the script, still doesn't work, but the error is gone, just a blank page, an the email isn't sent. I tried changing the SMTP setting in php.ini to the DSN name, i get the latter results. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong. Again i've never set up SMTP before, so maybe that's what i did wrong. anyone have any idea? I did just telnet into the SMTP server, so i know it's up and running.

PEAR Install On Win2K
I'm having some problems getting PEAR (the package manager, not the DB abstraction stuff) working on Win32. I downloaded the php script from http://go-pear.org/ and ran it with the command line, specified my correct php path, and added c:serverphppear to my include_path in php.ini as instructed. PHP Install Problem Under Win2k
I'm trying to install PHP 4.3.3 under Windows 2000 Server as an ISAPI DLL (on my development PC). Things weren't going smoothly so I uninstalled it (with the Wise wizard) and now it still shows up under the Control Panel installed programs! I hate it when that happens. Be that as it may, I uninstalled it for two reasons. Firstly the file php4isapi.dll was no where to be found. Secondly, I read somewhere that IIS doesn't like spaces in path names. I had installed in Program Files. Before I try again I have some question. To set my frame of reference, about the only thing I know about server-side programming is ASP.NET. I don't know anything about cgi or PHP. Why are there two install choices, for cgi or as an ISAPI DLL? Which one should I use? And why was php4isapi.dll not created?

PHP 5, ColdFusion And Win2k Issues
Ok, so my boss wants to use a nifty little PHP script that requires a mySQL backend. No big deal, or so I thought. I install mySQL 5 and PHP 5.1 and everything is grand! Until we notice that ColdFusion was reporting JRun protocol errors and a JDBC error, and the web server (All servers are Win2k, and our Web Server is IIS5.0) can't load any .cfm pages on our website. I checked ColdFusion, and it says all data connections are fine. During installation of PHP, I had to modify my PATH, under system variables to include "C:PHPext" as well as add a new environment variable "PHPRC" pointing to C:PHP. When I removed those two entries, ColdFusion started working properly again. And for the life of me, I can't figure out what went wrong there. Any ideas or suggestions?

Apache 2.2.2 And PHP 5.1.4 On Win2k Crashing
I just installed Apache 2.2.2 on my Windows 2000 (SP4) machine to test the new version. Everything works except PHP (version 5.1.4): when starting Apache, it pops out a message saying that it is unable to locate the module (even set on the correct path!), stops the execution and exits. On the other side, PHP works fine with Apache 2.0.55, so It's not a problem of a broken build.

WIN2k+IIS5+CGI+ERROR
I recently downloaded the PHP 4.3.2, I ran the installer, and did everything accordingly, setting IIS4 or higher, all the right things ( I think ). PHP is enabled as far as I know in IIS5 on all of my websites, but when ever I try to load a php file from the web I get this exact error message. " CGI Error The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are: " Nothing returns after that either. My file is called phpinfo.php. Although I can do a 4363473568546trgdfsh.php, which does not even exists on our server, and the same error gets spit out.

Image Creation Using GD With Php/Apache On Win2k
I'm finally able to create images using the gd library with Php running on Apache on Win2k. I thought I might share my new found knowledge of the process. First of all we need a file called "php_gd.dll" which can be easily downloaded. You can download any of the dll files depending on the version of Php you're using. After downloading, rename the file as php_gd.dll and keep a copy in "c:windows" or wherever your php.ini is kept. Open php.ini in your favorite editor, look for an commented line like this: #extension=php_gd.dll Next, look for the line : extension_dir = ./ You can change the "./" to the directory where you keep your php extensions. But if you follow the general rules of installing php/apache on windows, keep this as above. Uncomment this line if it is commented. That's it!!! All you need to do now is to restart Apache. If you get an error message saying "cannot find php_gd.dll", then make sure you have php_gd.dll in your extensions directory. (e.g. if your extension directory is ./ then keep the dll file where your php.ini exists).

Force Download On Win2k Server
My win2k server has read write and execute permissions throughout the entire account and I can't really change it without removing those permissions throught the entire account, so what I need to do is force download an exe file, since just linking to it tries to execute it on the server. Is there some way in PHP or ASP that I can force it to download and not execute?

PHP Mail And WIN2k Advanced Server
I am running Win2k Advanced server and php and I am having trouble getting the mail function to work. I have modified my php.ini file to reflect the SMTP server name but when I run my php program that uses the mail ( ) function I get the following error: Warning: Failed to Connect in C:pathsubmit.php on line 33. Anyone know what I need to do here to get this to work? I am not currently using the default WIN SMTP server. I know the smtp server name is correct and I can telnet to the server port 25 from the outside. I either get a "failed to receive" or "failed to connect" issue. Is this a firewall issue? Are there any other ports that need to be open for the mail function to work?
