Regular Expression Detecting Entire Page
I am making a flat file, static HTML search engine for a site. I downloaded a script from the net and have been working with it for my needs. Everything was working OK with a few test Lorem Ipsum pages. But the moment I try to search real data, fit hits the shan. The script uses a regular expression to search through the files. And for most of these files, the regular expression doesnt seem to pick up the matches as it should, and for lack of a match, it outputs the entire html page as a hit. The search word is on the page somewhere, but it still outputs the entire page. And if I echo $portion right before that line, I see the stripped code. However, when I get to the line where it checks $match[$h][3] for the keyword that was searched for, it craps out. Not 100% of the time, but most of the time. Im trying to figure out details about these html pages, to no avail. So as a result of failing that empty test, the entire html page is dumped out as a search result. Not being a regex expert, Ive had a hell of time troubleshooting. But I feel the problem lies in there. Something with the regex not finding the keyword correctly, or something.

Send This Page Script Used To Send Spam.
I had installed a simple php script (obtained for free from the web) that allows a visitor to forward a page to a friend. It worked great but now a spammer is using it to send thousands of emails. I have deleted the feature and also the php file but no successs. What can I do? Please help. While I have some responsibilities of a webmaster, my technical abilities are very limited.

Sessions And Redirects - Send Info From Page One To Page Two.
I have a two part form, each part on a seperate page. I want to send info from page one to page two. Thought ok, I use session variables. The problem is that they don't get sent to the second page. All works fine on my local testing server, but when I go live session varables don't show. Has this something to do with header? Is there another way to get to the second page? Code:

Send Email - Page Where You Enter An Email Address And Click Send.
I am interested in creating an "email -this" type ability for a website. I am sure most people have seen an "email -this story" type link that is standard on most news web sites. You click such a link and then it takes you to a page where you enter an email address and click send. The link for the story and the title are not editable. Variables Not Send To Next Page
I have a problem while building an intranet site for my work. When I try to send an variable called id to the next page as in : page.php?id=2 (where 2 is extracted from the database and placed in a while. When I click the link the id is shown in the address bar, but the page isn't getting it. Anyone know how to fix this or what the problem is? I'm runing Apache 1.3.33, PHP 5.0.5 and MySQL 5.0.15 with PHPMyAdmin (which is working properly) on a Windows 2003 Server.

i have a website and i have a log in system with php and mysql, that works fine however i want my registered user to be able to send me information by email, they'd fill in a text field then press send. Send This Page Script
I want to add a 'Send this page to a friend' script to many pages on my site. I'm after a script which can automatically insert the current page URL in to the email that's sent. ie. I do not want a standard visit www.servername.com generic message and URL. Likewise, I don't want to manually customise the script on every page for every URL. The URL needs to be custom for every page. Presumably a PHP script can insert the current URL.

I've got some dynamic pages on my site, so i've set php up to cache them in the normal way to speed up delivery. but i was just wondering... do you have to include the headers again when it reads the cached page, or will the original headers become part of the cached page?

i need to be able to send an email back to a person once they have completed a form in the exact format of how they filled it in. ie, as a html page with all the text they entered in the text boxes and selected checkboxes, radio buttons, etc. the problem is the page is very big and has many fields so i was thinking, on my action page i just include a template to achieve this.....and in the template can i do this type of thing: <input type="text" name="<php echo $txtAString ?> " size="12"> //which is the name of the text box on the entry form on the previous page ...will that get the text out of the previous page and put it in with the included template?

a quick question. is it possible to send the header to the client only at the end of the page? I mean when the build of the page by the PHP server is finished. Curl :: Send XML To A HTTPS Web Page

Send A Page To The User's Printer
A little more detail: I want the user to be able to press a form submit button and for a script to fetch member information for multiple members from the database and send the information to the printer to be printed so that each member has its own printed page. Does that make sense? I know I could do this by listing all the member details on one page complete with page breaks and getting the admins to print the page, but would prefer to just send the data to the printer. I've tried researching on the net, but haven't come across a solution yet, which probably means I can't do it, but thought I would ask anyway.

How To Send The User To The Page Is Using The Header() Function.
I am writing a page with sessions. At the start of every page I check to make sure that the user actually has a session by checking for some SESSION variables. On one of my pages I have a form that is to add guests for an event. I have no idea how many guests a particular member is giong to bring and the number of guests is not limited. So to save myself time I wrote a form that will allow you to add one guest and then hit add guest. This will save that guest to the guest table in my MySQL database but then I want to reload the page to have them add another guest. The only problem I am having is that the only way I know how to send the user to the page is using the header() function. This is not working because I have already output data. Is there a better way to do this so that I can one form and not have to have a form input for guests up to 20?

Confirm Page - Send POST Vars On?
I am attempting to change around a payment system, which books users into an event. The user is asked for their details in a form, which is checked for valid data and then passed to a confirm page. The confirm page then passes all data to a payment gateway using a POST form. If payment is approved, the gateway sends a (hidden) GET url to the server confirming the order. The order is sent in this url. However, the new system is passing much more information to the payment gateway, which will not handle the amount of data to send in a GET back to my server. Code:

I want to send a user to a page opened by the secure site that will ask them for their credit card number (I will then store the number temporarily in the database). What must I do that brings the page into "secure" mode where the lock is displayed at the bottom and the user feels "secure" in giving their credit card number. How Can I Send Lots Of Data To A Printer Without Displaying It On The Page
I have a list of clients (about 50,000) that is about 500 pages long. To show this, I have a webpage that lists all the clients and pages them in increments of 100 clients per page. I'd like to be able to print (to a phyiscal printer) the entire list of clients, but the problem is, I don't know how to do it without displaying all 50,000 records on the screen at the same time. This creates a serious memory problem when PHP tries to parse and display all of them at once. Is there a way to somehow run the query and parse the results into a printer spool (like print preview) via PHP headers or something instead of displaying the output to the browser?

You know how someone submits a form, and it goes to process_form.php, and after processing, redirects it back to that page? How can I get the URL of my page, and after the person submits the form, take them back? URL Masking - Send A Page From Port 80 To Port 6999
I'm sure this has been asked before but I've just signed up to this newsgroup and done a search but can't find anything. What I'm trying to do is to send a page from port 80 to port 6999 but I don't want the :6999 bit to show in the URL address field. Is it possible to either mask or hide this within the header("Location:XXX") call? In other words, if I enter http://www.mysite.com it finds the site using the default port 80 but the information I have is actually on port 6999 so I'm redirecting to http://www.mysite.com:6999 but I don't want the :6999 to be displayed.

What Can Return The ENTIRE Url?
I'm looking for PHP equivalent to Javascript's location.href property. This returns the ENTIRE url (including any variables that might be submitted to a script). I've looked at phpinfo(), but I didn't see exactly what I am after. Capturing The Entire URL
Been playing around with capturing the entire URL. I dont have any problems if it a file, i.e. http://www.mydomain.com/somefile.php, I am running into problems with this, http://www.mydomain.com/test This is what I use for "redirection" now (btw, it is IIS (Win2k) and PHP 4.3.2) The test.mydomain.com is setup as a host header under IIS $redirect = getenv("HTTP_HOST"); if ($redirect=="test.mydomain.com"){ header("Location:http://www.mydomain.com/modules.php?name=test"); } The above code works fine. Redirects no problem. However, I am trying to get this to do the same thing: www.mydomain.com/test or www.mydomain.com/test/ and both would take you here: http://www.mydomain.com/modules.php?name=test I have tried every combination of the SERVER vars, but no luck. I either generate a 404 or the test isn't part of the URL.

Okay To Urlencode() Entire URL?

Dump The Entire Db
I need to dump my entire db into a sql file (create + insert statments). Is there a short way to do it via PHP? If not, I probably have to do each table in the db, is there a way to get all the table names in the db (Assume I need it for several dbs so the script can't know the table names and number in advance).
