Easy Way To Align Sections Of Paths That Are Not Squares. And Putting Paths Together
my friend and i are working on our own template for a website we're working on and we are having some trouble with the sidebar design we wanted to use. it involves multiple lines and cuts and such that we made using paths, and to our dismay we didn't space them far enough apart so when the paths were drawn in it just looked like blobby rectangles. we want to re-do it with better spacing but we don't want to go through all the trouble to align up the paths again using transform boxes like we did before, they're not very helpful when trying to align things that are not squares. any tricks we're missing?

Combine 50 + Images...
I have taken about 50 images of people walking in a heavily trafficked area. I want to have all the people added together into one image. Each person is to have full opacity. I started by making an image with no one in the scene using the Median blend mode with a layer stack to remove all the people. Worked fine. Now, I am hoping there is some way to create masks or knockouts of the people in each of the individual images by somehow comparing them to the scene with no people. Some way to mask out or knock out those areas which are different, i.e. the people. I will then stack all the images of the people on top of one another to create a very complicated image showing the volume of traffic. Using CS3.

Combine Different RAWs From A Single Photo
I'd like to combine two different RAW exposure settings into a single JPEG. I've done this in the past by importing two RAW files at different exposure values, then selecting from one photo, feathering, and copy/paste into the other photo. This proved to be very time consuming and no where near perfect. I thought Photoshop CS2's "Merge to HDR" function would be ideal for automating this process, but it won't take the two different RAW imports as input because it knows they're from the same photo.

Separate Shape Layers?
I try to use the circle, rectangle or line tool, it forms a new layer wich cannot be edited directly. I found a way to get around the "not being able to edit directly" part (by rasterizing the layer) but I don't know how to get all the shapes into one layer. For example, when I draw a rectangle, it forms a new layer which I have to rasterize. Then when I draw lines in rectangle, it is part of a new layer, which once again, I have to rasterize. Now that I have these lines in a rectangle, I tried coloring 1/3 of the rectangle blue using the first line as a closing line. It ended up coloring my whole screen. I tried grouping the layers and then coloring.

Batch Combine Multiple Image Sequences
After assembling the render output of my 3d app in photoshop (32bit) and changing the appearance via several CC layers in different layer modes (e.g. Hue/saturation in Overlay mode) I ended up with my composing for print purposes. The comp is complex, with several masked folders, single masked CC layers and many image layers (some with masks). Now the client wanted me to animate part of the image. No problem I thought. But the trap is of how to assemble the different image sequences (diffuse, specular, reflection, masks, etc, etc). I came up with a PS action which loaded the single images and arranged them in the same fashion as the master file. But now PS doesn't load the incremental images for the batch processing. Images are named in a Diffuse_00001, Specular_00001, ... fashion. Loading the first set works, but from Diffuse_00002 everything goes wrong and PS load the 00001 files (except from one file which loads in the proper incremental way). I can't transfer this stuff to AE as it is much too complex and I do no AE only very little. I guess PS should be capable to solve this batch task, but a simple action via batch seems to fail.

Lasso Tool To Separate An Object
Last autumn I took a photo of a rotten apple on some grass, with a tiny flower beside it. I used the regular lasso tool to cut and layer the apple, and then the flower (giving 3 layers). Upon closer reinspection, though, my lasso cut is a little jagged. So, I'm here asking what you guys do to cut out objects! I am a fan of the magnetic lasso tool, but find that it can often leave very jagged edges when the object isn't clear cut. So, I thought I would be best to resort to the regular lasso tool, just with the photo zoomed in a lot and going little by little. That would be fine, except that I often click too fast from one point to the next, and Photoshop thinks I'm finished and stops the lasso there. That is soo frustrating! Is there any way to go back and edit after Photoshop has 'closed' the lasso selection? Another thing I sometimes use is the magic wand tool, but as my background is grass, there's no way that I can get it to do what I want. Any suggestions?

Save Multiple Selections As Separate...
I've got a psd with two layers. The background layer is a photo, and the other one is transparent except for several rectangular areas. What I want is use that layer as a mask, and save each area from the photo in a single file. I have to do the same process with a lot of files, so an automatic or semiautomatic way would be perfect. I thought that the first pass was making a multiple selection of the areas. And then, save each one in a file.

Using Grids Combine Snapshots To Make Large Image
I use digital photography programs rarely, and not to do anything too fancy. My current objective is simple, yet i cannot suceed. I am taking snapshots within an application of a game map (this is an 8-bit original nintendo game). I want to construct a bitmap image of the entire town (maybe 1024x768 pixels). I took about 6 screenshots (each being 256x231) and began to line them up to make my master image. I am using PSPX, i set my horizontal and vertical grid spacing to 4 pixels. I try copying snap1.png and 'paste as selection' into a new master image file (1024x1024). i then do the same with snap2.png. i attempt to line the two up properly and no matter what values i choose in my grid properties, they wont line up! i have to turn off the 'snap to grid' and zoom in extreme and align that way. I have a LOTof master images to create (100+) and some images will consist of 20+ screenshots, so snapping by a NES cell (16x16 area) would be NICE to do in a PSP program. I have also tried cropping the bottom of the pic, making the snapshot size 246x224, so a snap of 8 or 16 divides perfectly. but for some reason, the two pics dont align right, they are off by 4 pixels! My game allows the character to move 1 cell (16 pixels) at a time. So in theory, i should be able to have a snap radius of 16, and the pictures should line up with one another, no? How can i use a grid (horiz and vert dist being 16) to align multiple pics to create one master larger image? Apparently i am no digital artist, but a digital failure!

How To Add Logo/filename To The Image, As A Separate Layer

What I want to do is, before sending a preview to the client, to put my company logo and name of the file directly on the image, let's say in the right and left lower corner of the image. My clients usually want to print the images and have the file name right in front of them so that after they choose the image they can tell me which of the versions/files they like, without going back to computer and looking for the file name there.

Joint Two Separate Vector Images Into One Vector Image
I am making myself a logo in photoshop. I have made all the letters that will be used, but they are all seperate entities as most of you who have used vectors know. I would like to interconnect the letters, as well as an angel I have made to go above the letters. My question is, how can I join two seperate vector images into one vector image. For example, joining a letter E with a letter D. I wonder if theres a way to do this without having to delete part of each image and then re-draw, which is a pain. Sorry if this isn't really clear, but its hard to explain.

CS Paths
Since upgrading to Photoshop CS, if I try to make a selection from a complex path, only the outer perimeter of the path selects. Any interior "holes" are ignored. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just something new that I've missed. I've been working with photoshop paths for as long as they've existed, but this has me utterly baffled.

Paths Not Working!
Basically, I open photoshop, and I select the pen tool. I then make a small shape, like a square or circle or something with it. So now obviously, I have a closed work path in such a shape. Black is my foreground colour. I right click the path with the pen tool still selected, and choose 'Fill Path' and click ok. But for some reason, it's everything but the path that gets filled with black! how I did this, but does anyone know how to change it so that it's the area that's boxed off which gets filled, rather than the area outside it?

How To Trim Paths?
The thing is this: I have some paths (shapes) that I want to combine into one path and trim all the excess path lines. I can put the paths into the same path-layer by just copying/pasting that works fine, but the paths are still NOT really combined. I have made an example to illustrate my point, please have a look at that. 1) I've created paths 1 and 2 2) I combined them into another path-layer 3) Thought the thing I need is anchor points at the intersection so I added those 4) When I delete the anchor points whithin the combined shape, the whole shape distorts and it shows that it really is not a combined path but just two separate paths in the same layer! I can't seem to trim the red marked lines off the path. My question basically is how to remove the red marked part of those paths and combine them into a 'really-one-path' shape that follows the outline of the combined shape? I have tried to create an outline path by turning the combined path into a selection and then create a path from that selection, that doesn't produce a nice smooth path when the shape is more complex...

As I understand it when I drag from a straight segment to create a new path for a curve and release the mouse and I should get an anchor point and one direction line and one direction point, but all I seem to get is what appears to be a tiny plus sign at the end of the line.

Visibility Of Paths
I'm using the Pen Tool to draw several paths; I need to draw each path with reference to the other, previously drawn, paths. This is where I encountered a problem with Photoshop CS3: whenever I create a new path, the old ones become invisible, and I can only see one path at a time - the one that's selected in the Paths panel. Is there any way to control the visibility of the different existing paths (as you can, for example, with layers) and to make several (unstroked) paths be visible simultaneously?
