Running Photoshop CS3 under Windows Vista I could not save as PDF due to a "program error" (whatever that is). CS3 Save As .Jpeg Program Error
When attempting to save an RGB or CMYK file larger than 100M as a jpeg, an error message appears stating "Could not save a copy as C:(file name) because of a program error". Two questions: 1. Will resetting my prefences affect this error? If I try resetting my preferences, will my custom color swatches and patterns be erased? 2. Is there a known solution to this error?

Error :: File Will Not Open Due To A Program Error
I have been re-saving many of my PSD files using CS3 image prosesssor with compatibility mode turned off. They have simply been saved again as PSD files into a different folder - no changes to the original PSD files. This has worked well and reduced file sizes by up to 50% (I had compatibility mode turned on previously). of the 60 files I have processed, 3 will no longer open , I get a message that says "file will not open due to a program error." these files have only ever been used in CS3. , they are quite large from just under 1GB to 1.5GB, however other similar large files have processed successfully. I have re-tried without success. I still have the original files so no data loss is involved.

CS3 Program Error
I'm using cs3 on a WinXP computer and over the last few days I'm all of a sudden getting a pop-up box stating that a (some tool) could not be used because of a program error. Does anyone know what this is all about and have any ideas on how I can fix it? I've restarted PS and rebooted several times and that does not help.

CS3 Program Has Encountered An Error
when I was trying to save an image as a PNG, I pressed save then clicked OK on the small PNG Options / Interlace box and then the program completely crashed, encountered an error and needed to close. I tested saving things as PNG and it happened over and over again. It's only happening with PNG, not with any other formats. Can anybody please help? PNG is a format that I need to use and it is becoming very frustrating! I have an older version of Photoshop - but I only purchased it a year ago! Anyways, I have been using the program on my laptop(primarily), as well as my home computer sometimes too! the problem seems to happen when I fool around with my projects layers (turning turning them on and off) all my tools lock up and when i try to click back onto my work. CS3 - Program Error On Load Of PSD Image
OS Vista Photoshop CS3 Photoshop CS3 was all working so well until it stopped opening PSD format files that I had previously created. I can open a JPG file but not a PSD file. When I open a PSD file I get a messgae box "Could not complete your request because of a Program Error" If I create a NEW USER ACCOUNT in widows VISTA, photoshop opens the same PSD files correctly. Therefore there must be something wrong with files associated with MY windows user account. Cannot Complete Request Due To Program Error!
I get this message whenever I try to open a PS7.0 file. Strangely enough, this file I opened once with CS and it worked fine, I made some changes and saved it (shoulda saved copy) and now when I open it, you see the loading bar go right to the end, then an error message comes up: "Cannot complete request due to program error." When I tried to use file browser in PS7 this morning, it opened and, instead of showing the directory tree structure that I last left it in, it only showed the desktop with the + sign to expand that folder. I've recently started getting an error message I've not noticed before. If I use CTRL L on an empty layer by mistake, I get the following message. "could not complete the levels command because of a program error" I can't swear that I've never had it before, and I'm sure I must have used CTRL L on an empty layer before, but I don't recall seeing it. I'm trying to create a digital layout in PSCS version 8.0, and when I go to save the psd file (very early stages of the creation...its not very large yet) I get an error that says "Unable to save (file name) because of a disc error". I've never seen this before and am trying not to panic, but I'm on a deadline! LOL And am running behind as usual! I am using an older mac, and I'm pretty dang maxed out on Gb...gotta clean up some files, but having a hard time finding a free dup file finder for macs...so I'm procrastinating, basically. "program Error" Problem
I was working on an image today and suddenly couldn't do anything. I get an error message that says either "cannot complete operation due to program error" or "insufficient memory". I can't even close the program - have to go thru task manager to close it. After rebooting and reopening photoshop, it opens to all default settings, with a window asking about setting my color profiles. I've closed and reopened it several times and always the same - it opens at default settings, I click "no" for setting color profiles, and can open an image using the file browser, but after that, I can't do anything.

i have a core2duo, xp sp3 running 8GB of ram 3.5GB as my main memory, 4.5GB as my virtual memory. setup by Gavotte Ramdisk. and my photoshop cs3 scratch disk is set to a 500GB drive with more 300GB of free space. and i let photoshop cs3 uses upto 100% of the memory (1707MB) and i'm pretty sure i've read all the memory optimization for photoshop cs3 that i could find on the web... yet i still get this error when trying to save an image using save for web. my image dimension is 2560x1600 72dpi and saving using jpg high quality 60 settings, the image size is showing 702K. but once i click on save, this msg shows up... Adobe Save For Web Error Could not write the file, there is not enough scratch memory available.

What im doing is trying to create animations. There is a main psd file that I work on, and then I move the objects slightly and save it as a jpg. But what happens is after 3-5 saves it starts saying "Could not save a copy as 'C:... ame.jpg' because the file is already in use or was left open" even though it's not. And then the jpg I was trying to save shows up with the correct name, but its not useable and displays 0 bytes. Disk Error Cant Save File
I am trying to save a rgb tif file (file size is 31mb) with a single layer that was applied since opening, the only way I am being allowed to save it is if i flatten the image, which i do not want to do. When I try to save it I get "Could not save "leeo083.TIF" because of disk error. I am on a Dual 2 GHz G5 with 3 gigs of ram OS 10.3.5 There is 40 gigs of open space on the harddrive. I'm running Photoshop Elements 5.0. Everything was working fine til this mornin. I've had the program for about a year now. Using Brush Causes Program Shutdown
I have Photoshop CS (version 8.0) running on Windows XP Home (SP3). I searched the help files, FAQs, and the forums and didn't find anything related to this. Today I opened a document I've been working on, created a new layer, picked a default 9 pixel hard round brush, and when I clicked on the canvas to paint I got "could not complete the task due to a program error" and right after this Photoshop shut down. I ran my anti-virus, but the computer is clean. I then checked all the brushes in my Photoshop folder to see if there were any odd ones in there - there weren't. Then I closed PS and when I opened it again I held down Shift+Ctrl+Alt to reset the Prefs file. I created a new document and reset the brushes, then I tried once again to paint with a default brush. Again I received the same program error and PS shut down. I uninstalled PS and reinstalled the program. I restarted my computer and opened PS and tried painting again - the same error, only this time PS didn't shut itself down. I'm at a loss here. I know Photoshop can have some psychotic moments, but this is the first time I have encountered this weird behavior. If anyone can give me some suggestions on what might be happening and how to remedy it I would appreciate it.

CS2 Colors Washed Out In Program
I've been using CS2 all morning, dragging and dropping images from Canon's Zoombrowser and doing minor editing. All of a sudden half an hour ago, images' colors became incorrect, much brighter and more washed out than they should be. I figure I must have hit a hotkey that changed something. I've checked through all settings I know of, and must be missing the correct one. Images are displayed correctly in other programs, including Imageready, and images that appear incorrect in PS that are resaved within PS also display correctly in other programs.
