Change Fabric Swatches For A Chair
I have a video rocker chair that I need to be able to change its color or its pattern depending on the fabric material I have for the chair. So I have a picture of the Chair and I have pictures of the different patterns (sports teams, hunting scenes, ect.) I would like to overlay the different patterns onto the picture of the chair while maintaining the shadows and wrinkles of the original picture of the chair. I have PhotoShop 10

Making A Red Chair Turn White
I have a picture of a red velour colored recliner type chair that i want to make white instead of red. I've been messing with the hue/saturation but cant really get it. The thing is that there are parts of the picture where the velvet texture is naturally darker than the rest of the spots, and to keep the chair looking real and 3d, they have to stay a darker color than the white color I want to make it. but when i use the hue options, it just lightens everything on the chair.

Repeat A Fabric Pattern
I have this piece of fabric in a digital format (200x200px) and I need to make it a 1000x1000px so I can cover the entire window curtain. This is a pretty complex pattern. How can I make it repeat seamlessly? Is there a plugin that automatically adjust brightness and contrast as well as overlapping?

Coloring A Fabric - Color & Texture
I have a piece of fabric that I'm trying to colour with a variety of different light & dark colours (blues, yellows, reds, black, white, grey, etc). The fabric colour that I'm trying to fill is a light grey which shows the texture (shadows, pattern, etc) of the fabric. In the layers pallet I have the fabric layer set to multiply and placed above the colour layer so that the colour comes through. My problem is that I'm having some difficulty in colouring in the fabric. With lighter colours it's not a problem, but darker colours appear to saturate the selection too much which results in a loss of texture definition - the cracks in the texture appear that they are filled with paint. At the moment I have been playing with a combination of fabric layers set at different blend modes & opacities: multiply, screen & overlay which works to a certain extent but I'm not happy with the realism of the results especially for the darker colours. With that said I have 2 questions: 1. Does anyone have any good experience with colouring selections which maintain colour & texture accuracy (to see what I mean, design a shoe at NikeID.com). You can see how they colour a lace in a variety of light & dark colours accurately (accurate colours while maintaining good texture). More generally, what's the 'best' approach here to blend (or some other method) the full spectrum of light to dark colours? 2. Ideally, what colour should the underlying fabric be? (white, grey, black?) And why? I notice that it's easy to colour a predominately white fabric with light colours but increasingly difficult to colour the selection the darker the target fill is.

Replacing One Fabric Texture/color With Another
I am looking to take an image of a seat and change the current material to a different material. The new material will be both a different color and a different texture so just changing the color with an adjustment layer will not work, but may be part of the process. I need this to look very realistic; complete with shadows and highlights. Is there a way to take a sample from the material I want to use and apply it quickly? I have been using photoshop for a while now and can't think of a way to do this. I am thinking this may be a job for a different program, but if I can do it in photoshop that would be wonderful.

Displace Filter On Red, Green And Blue Fabric
I am trying to map hundreds of fabric pattern to a window curtain for catalog purpose. So I am thinking to shoot the displace map with white fabric so that the displace map will clearly distinguish between the black, gray and white. Then I took a step further, I am thinking to use a green fabric with red border on the bottom of the curtain so that I can tell photoshop to map pattern A with green and pattern B with red. However, I am concern that since green and red panel with shadow and highlight isn't exactly the same as white fabric with shadow and highlight; therefore, the displacement of the fabric pattern will be different between white background and colored background. How do I solve this? Is there any way to tell photoshop to convert colored fabric to a "white" fabric with all the shadow and highlight accurately represent?

my problem is the color gray. the swatches that fade from white to black have a red tint to them. I tryed the color setting, to see if i can take the red tint out but it doesn't work. my color setting is set to north america General purpose which is the defult i believe. The color picker doesn't have gray in this setting. I do get gray when i change the setting' but no change in the grays in the swatches.

Swatches Palette
I'm running Photoshop CS3 Extended in 32 bit Vista. Whenever I need a layer filled with 50% Gray I have been accustomed to select it from the default swatches palette (last box on the right side of the first row). However, I have just discovered - perhaps belatedly - that the RGB values that this selection produces are NOT R 128, G 128, B 128 but can vary between 131 and 147 depending on the color profile of the document that I am using at the moment. I can verify that it is not 50% Gray by then changing the blending mode of the new layer to Overlay which, at least in theory as I understand it, should produce no color change to the underlying layer. However, I do observe changes. I have also confirmed with others that this behaviour is the same for CS3 running in XP on a different make of computer.

Colour Swatches
Is there a way of organizing the colours in a swatch to something other than the default. You can delete, or add, but you can't drag them to new positions to arrange. I'm creating some swatches of my own, but the order of the colours is not to my liking. Just can't figure out if they can be organised by Hue, Brightness etc, or moved around individually.

Rearrange Swatches
is it possible to re-order the swatches you save off? i've been saving odd swatches for ages, and as a result they're all over the place when you look at them in F6. it's not vital, but i'd kinda like to rearrange them so they're all grouped a little more sensibly : short of making a sample of each on a blank doc, deleteing them all then sampling/saving them all again in order, is it possible to edit the swatches?

Sharing Swatches
I'm trying to share the Skintones swatch from Illustrator to Photoshop. I selected it, saved it for exchange to the desktop and hit the Load Swatches button on the swatches palette in Photoshop. I get the little spinning Vista thing but that's it. Photoshop looks for .aco and, of course, the swatches are saved as .ase. Changing the file format to include .ase doesn't seem to do anything and the swatches don't show up in the list of libraries. Is it possible that the skintones swatch is one of the many that CS2 won't share?

Custom Swatches
I did the search and found a few posts that explained a few methods for this but the results were not exactly what I was looking for. Is it or isn't it possible to create a blank swatches table - add "only" the colors you want and be able to load that palette again as needed? I saw a few posts that say to use the images>mode>index color route - then save as a color table. But... when you load from the swatches dialog it adds the colors from the table to the existing swatches... What I would like is have separate swatches palettes containing only the colors I saved - this would be for project work.

Making Color Swatches?
Does anyone know if there is a way to import a text file, or another type of file, into color swatches to make a custom pallet? We have to type in over 8,000 swatches, and I was hoping there might be an easier way to do it, rather than making a new color and then making a new swatch.

Is It Possible To Change The CS4...
requires lots of screengrabs of images and settings against the usual dark gray CS4 background. The problem is that the guidelines you adjust to form a rectangle round the image you're grabbing are dark grayish too and it's difficult to see it against the gray background. Is there any way to temporarily change the dark gray CS4 window background color? I'm running under Vista and changing the window and application background colors in Vista makes no difference to the background color in CS4 which sticks at dark gray.

Possible Change From CS3 To CS4
I am using CS4 to take it. Here's the discrepancy. When she draws a circle on an image by holding down shift/alt with the elliptical marquee tool, she starts the circle from the center of the circle but from the edge of the image. When she lets go of the mouse, her circle remains drawn and suspended out of sight off the image and she's able to move the circle around on the image. When I let go of the mouse in CS4, the selection commits itself to the image and I wind up with a fixed selection in the shape of a polygon with one completely rounded side. When I move the selection, the straight edges move with the curved edges, making it impossible for me to do what the teacher wants me to do. I found a workaround for it by moving the image temporarily onto a much bigger new file, but I--and other students in the class--are really curious about how to make this work as our teacher does. One of the other stumped students just suggested to me that this might be because we're working in CS4.

Change Focus
I have taken some netball sport photographs where the camera's automatic focus failed to lock onto the player. Rather, it locked onto the background spectators on the edge of the court. Consequently, the player is blurred. I have tried "lens blur" filter and "distortion lens correction" and even "spherise" without success.

How To Change Colors

Delay Won't Change
amatuer photographer (D50 dSLR) somewhat new to photoshop (around 6 months of practice) and am getting used to it BUT I have a problem: up unitl this point I have been mainly editing and tweaking still projects but now I'm trying to get into the animation (for another forum ) I have all the images but when I go to Save for Web, it won't let me change the delay at all from the whip-lash fast 0.2 seconds a frame! It's great.... I just can't have it going that fast and don't know how to extend the delay ... Change The Color Of My Car?
I have this genuine untouched JPEG picture I took with my digital camera. The picture is of my car in the foreground and a nice landscape in the background. My car is dark blue but I want to change the picture so that the car will be of another color (maybe black or silver) keepeing the rest of the picture untouched. In the process I would like the end picture to look very natural i.e. that when the final color is applied that the car body preserves all the original reflections on the surface and lighting so that no one can recognize it's been photoshopped.
