Color Replace With Alpha?
I have a texture with cyan color in it. This texture is used in a game engine and the engine considers cyan alpha. But, I'm using a new version of the engine and now I need real alpha channel in the texture. So I need to replace the color with alpha.
Using Save for Web, I can pick the color and map it to transparent, but that also shifts the palette, which ends up in a messed up texture in an editor for the game.
How to replace the color with alpha without changing the palette?

A basic question for a basic user. I have a layer in an image which I created by using a paintbrush to create a shape using the colour black on a transparent background. I want to change this outline shape to a certain green. I go to Image/Adjustments/Replace Color. I click the radio button called Image and I see my black outline on a white background. The colour in the little boxes is black, same as outline. I change the foreground colour to the green I wish to use and this changes the colour in the little boxes in the Replace Color window to that green. However, whichever eyedropper I choose to click on the black outline in the image just changes the colour in the little boxes back to black. So it is working in reverse to what I want to happen. How can I get the outline to turn from black to green?

How To Replace Color?
I have in my document a green brush-stroke, with very feathered edges (brushsize=47px, hardness=0). I want to replace all of it with red. I selected Replace Color effect, and all is fine- for the central green that is. It becomes red. But the blurry green edges remain green, even with maxed Fuzziness. What can I do?

Replace Color
Photoshop CS. I have a document with a number of layers. Each layer has lines of a single pure colour. When I try to replace a colour, Photoshop is replacing it with the wrong one! For instance when I try to replace RGB 128,0,128 with 96,56,17, the outcome is 105,61,18. I try to replace 212,0,212 with 96,56,17, the outcome is 145,85,25. In the colour picker dialogue, the radio button R of RGB is currently selected. Web safe is not enabled. The file is RGB, 8bits, so this seems reasonable. The eyedropper tool is set to point sample, but as I said the lines are pure colour anyway. The layers are all at default settings for blending etc. One thing I have noticed is that when I click on the 'result' colour panel in the replace colour dialogue, the colour is always out by 1 in the blue channel. Since I change this using the RGB numbers, this should not impact the result either.

'Replace Color'
I am replacing a color using the 'replace color' under 'Image->Adjustments' to match a certain color. Is there a way where i can replace the selected color by typing in RGB values instead of moving the Hue, saturation, and lightness sliders? The sliders doesnt provide exact color matching, instead i have been eyeballing the colors to match, which is dangerous when it comes to deatail.

Replace Color?
i have an image with a white background that i would like to change to a specific shade of gray. obviously replace color would seem like what i needed to do, but i can't get it to function properly...basically all i want to do is select white and replace all white color in the image with the gray color ( i have the rgb/hsb values for the color i want). but everytime i use replace color, it will allow me to alter the hue, sat, etc values for any color in the image that i select except for white. when i select white, and then try to change the values, the color is always the same, with the exception that when i lower the brightness it becomes dark. i wanted to do a search to try to find this answer myself but i'm beginning to wonder if replace color is the command i should be using. even if there was some way to change the white to transparent i could put a layer of gray behind it and that would work, but i haven't been able to do that either.

Replace Color
I am trying to visualize paint colors in my house and figured the easiest way is to play around in Photoshop. But I cannot seem to find a way to virtually paint the walls in my room. I've tried doing a color fill with overlay and I've also tried doing a layer adjustment with Replace Color. In both situations, the results are not completely satisfactory. The resulting "virtual paint" color does not exactly resemble the color I selected and has too many ranges...for example, when I choose a mid-range green, the color on my selection ranges from almost white in certain areas to a dark green. Can anyone think of a way to accurately depict a virtual paint color (while still keeping the lighting and textures intact)?

i would like to modify this attached image so that i get 3 images; each of the image should has its own border with one of these colours: R=250, G=198, B=200 (FAC6C8) R=191, G=233, B=211 (BFE9D3) R=255, G=251, B=191 (FFFBBF) So i would like to have 3 images with differents border colour: one FAC6C8 border, one BFE9D3 border and one FAC6C8 border. I note that an other image will be add in the center of the image; this last image has all the 4 coulour at the same time (FAC6C8,BFE9D3,FFFBBF et BFBFBF) I think that i should select the border (to not influence the coulours of the centre's image) and remplace it by the wanted colour ... but how to do it?

Replace Color Glitch?
I made a simple gradient from black to white, then went to Select>ColorRange and used the sample color I had - #848484. I set the fuzziness to 0 to restrict the selection to only that color and then pressed OK. It selected three pixels. I copy and paste these into a new document to make it easier to see them. Now here's the glitchiness: I eyedrop each of the three pixels to see what their hexadecimal values are. One is 848484, another is 848484, but the last one is 848585. Why is Photoshop selecting an 848585 colored pixel when I'm telling it to only select a 848484 colored pixels? I would assume that setting fuzziness all the way down to 0 would restrict the selection to EXACTLY the color you specify, but it doesn't appear to be doing that. Is there any way around this? This is important because I'm trying to select specific colors that are not used as much and replace them with colors used more often in the image.

COLOR Swap/replace?
The colorant we use is food color. Color matching is not easy. to make a magenta out of food color there are only two options for us to leagly use. R-3 (beautiful bright but not stable under UV light, it fades) Next is R-40 More brick red but stable. So in order for us to match Magenta using the PMS swatches we have to blend the two colors to have some kind of stability, under the UV lights. We are in some instances replacing the Maganta with a spot red like 186 if the design has bright red areas. on to my question. Four color process realistic and Animated designs.Using PS 8.0 Is there anyway that I can set up something so the yellow would not print in areas that need to be just red? But not remove yellow from areas that need to print orange or green. I could create profiles. But how would I tell them not to overprint certain colors. Like Magenta & Yellow make orange and so on. Example: Chicken little design 6x6 round, Chicken Little's comb, text and background are red. The border is orange trees are green. Intention is to use spot red in place of Magenta ink, but do not want yellow to print on red and need it to make orange and green. I have been selecting those areas manually and deleting them.

Replace Color And Layers
Using Photoshop CS2 9.0, Windows XP, is there any way to apply Replace Color to all layers in an image simultaneously? I'm setting up an animation, and really don't feel like going through 50+ layer/frames individually just to make some slight color adjustments which I may decide to not even use. And, while we're on the subject, is there any way to apply other effects and tools to multiple layers in one go? Like, say, pasting and merging a selection into each layer, rather than doing it for each one separately?

Replace Color Dialogue Box Not Showing
I'm new to the forum, and new to Photoshop. I'm trying to replace a color in an image. When I click, Image > Adjustments > Replace Color, and the dialogue box opens, everything isn't showing. CS2 Color Replace White Not Working
able to just color replace white from an image with the correctly selected foreground/background? I have tried almost every setting of the color replacement tool. If i adjust the tolerance up higher, it does start to change the image, but the white around it never changes.

Replace Color Command Saturation...
For the Replace Color Command (not the Replace Color Tool), the meaning of the Saturation slider is clear only when the slider value is negative (reducing saturation). In that case the slider reading is the percent by which the (H-L) gap is to be reduced, where H and L are the highest and lowest RGB channel values. A reading of -100 means the gap is to be completely closed. Whatever the percentage closure, it is effected by decreasing H and increasing L in equal increments proportional to the slider setting. When the saturation slider is set to a positive number (increasing saturation), however, the meaning is not easily unearthed. The incremental changes in H and L, although still equal and opposite in algebraic sign, are now a non-linear function of the slider and the initial H and L values, but I have not been able to nail it. The middle RGB channel plays no role in either case. With H and L set, it is adjusted to keep hue constant.

How To Replace A Single Color With A Multi-colored Background?
I am kinda new to image editing and I am wondering how to do something like on the news (the weather reports in particular) where the replace/add the landscape to a green/blue background. I would like to do it with a white background and have it replaceed with something more interesting. The closest I can find is the color replacement tool but that is not quite what I want to do. I removed a background from a picture, but I want to make the shadow of the characters be consistent with the new background I am putting in. How can I change the color value of the grey shadow to that of a black color with about 50% opacity? I want the shadow to be the same color as the original.

"Replace Color" Function And Other Masks
I am trying to change the palette of an indexed image without losing the color table indexes. I want to change a bunch of colors at once. Image->Adjustments->Replace Color (while still indexed) is exactly what I want. And it works, mostly. The problem is I am trying to select a mask of multiple colors with 0 "fuzziness" so I can adjust their hue/saturation etc. But, when I go to hold SHIFT to select multiple colors, I get all these other colors that I didn't want included in my mask, despite that fuzziness is set to 0. I tried selecting all colours and subtracting colours and this also fails. For example, I select ALL colours in the mask by holding shift and picking every colour in the image (there are 24 colours). Then after ALT->clicking 2 colours, it actually deselects ALL 24 colours. I want it to only deselect the exact 2 that I picked. Magic wand works in this way with 0 tolerance. Why doesn't the mask picker? I can't convert to RGB->back to indexed because then the color table not match up.

Can't Replace Colour
I'm trying to use the Replace Colour (Color) function on CS2 with a psd file (RGB image mode) and can't get it to work. I'm using the first eyedropper to select the colour to replace (not a gradient) and i'm using the replace box below with the eyedropper to select the new colour. when i hit ok...either nothing happens or the colour i selected for the replacement does not appear. i've tried both image and selection, i've tried setting the fuzziness to 1 pixel given this is not a gradient, but no go. if i use the sliders, well yeah then i can change the colour but not to the exact match i want.... and i need an exact match because this image will be matched against an identical background..all this as part of a CMS driven photo site

Replace Colour Doesn't Work.
I have a B&W image in my PS2 (black car, white background) but when I click on image > adjustments > replace colour, on the background for example, it just goes gray...not the nice blue I want. This worked before with other images so I'm not sure why this is happening this time.

Replace Burnt Out Windows
I am almost a begginer with PS7, and circumstances require me to use a feature asap before my instruction book arrives! I make 360 panoramas, and I have a series of .jpg digital pictures taken inside, some of which contain 'burnt out' windows. I have however also taken an identical picture exposing correctly for the outside lighting. I wish to replace the 'burnt out' windows with the properly exposed ones. I have got as far as cropping the outside shot and placing it underneath the inside shot and using the eraser to make it show through. It seems to work quite well, but my problem is the saved file size. The originals are approx 1.5Mb, but after doing the above, the file size goes beyond double the original .. which I can't seem to fathom. I don't understand why this should be so, and when it will come to stitching the 12 images, they need to be roughly the same file size (and exact dimensions).

Replace Text Graphic On Moving Item...
I am new to CS4, and not too familiar with Photoshop or After Effects, and I was wondering how would be best to do this: 1 - I need to mask the label on the cover of the Blush jar, where it says "MICA BELLA cosmetices" and replace it with another name. The photo moves from left to right in the video so whatever change I make has to move with it. In fact there are a few photos in which I need to do the same, and the jars are at different locations and angles. 2 - Also, at the botton of the pic, below the white line I need to put another word to cover "MICA BELLA" and I'm wondering how best to copy the color scheme across the lettering. I do not know how the original was created.

Place/replace Large Numbers Of Photos...

I want to fade a background texture so that it isn't so bold. In Flash I would do this with the alpha controls, but I Googled alpha for photoshop and it wasn't what I was looking for. Alpha For Web Graphics
I have used an alpha channel to create some quite impressive weathering/scratches on a scratch drawn metallic background. My issue is that this image has been created for use on the internet and I cannot for the life of me find a way to save the image in a web friendly format and retain the scratches. Is there a particular way to merge this image as if I were merging layers to retain the scratches on the final JPEG? It may be something simple as can be but for the life of me it is STUMPING me.

Flv Export With Alpha
I'm having the hardest time trying to get an flv with transparency. I have a series of numbered photoshop files. Each file contains one partially transparent layer (no mask), and when I open the files as an image sequence, the transparency looks good. However, when I export to FLV with Alpha enabled, my FLV doesn't seem to have an alpha channel.

blending 3D pictures(w/ black blackground) into another 2D picture with alpha channels in that 3D picture. Everytime I try to copy and paste under LOAD Selection, i get the 3D picture stuck with the black background or totally white with no picture when paste onto the 2D picture. Alpha Channel
I have created two masks with channels to use on an image. Now I want to combine the two channel masks into one to use. I made a new layer in channels of the composite masks which gave me an Alpha channel. The Alpha channels show the solid black paint lines where I filled in the selection voids. These solid lines affected the adjustment layers so I ended up doing some erasing at 50%. Not the shortest workflow direction. How can I combine two channel masks (selections) into a common selection and save as a new Channel?

I created an alpha channel with marquee tool on a colored backgound, by using "select > save selection", the alpha channel appeared at the bottom of the channel palette. I know the white part should represents transparency and the black part is opaque. But when I import this into the Adobe premiere6.5, the thing is reversed, I have to use "alpha channel" plus "reverse" option to get what I want - see through the "white" part.
