Contour "Cut" And Paste
I just want to draw a simple line drawing, then cut out the contour of the drawing (not a rectangle) and paste it into PowerPoint.
I want to create my own "clipart" that can be animated in PowerPoint -- without having the "transparent" rectangle around it -- because the "transparent" rectangle in Photoshop becomes a "white" rectangle when pasted into PowerPoint.

Contour Editor
We have this contour setting for almost all the blending options like dorp shadow , inner or outer glow etc ...I opened the contour editor where I can make my own contours by deforming the curve.I can see the horizontal axis repersents the input value while vertical denotes output value. I was wondering what these input and output actually are.If I could know what physically they represent then I can predict the result of different contours or cutom contours beforehand. So can somebody please tell me what they actually are in general so that I could predict the result of different contour settings?

Contour Lines To Follow Rolling Landscape?
I need to reproduce wavy contour (blueprint) lines which will follow the undulating landscape on a lot of images I have. As per the attachment, they almost have a neon glow and are in a grid format. I can do a grid but adding the wave filter doesn't allow me to adapt it to suit the pic.

Cut And Paste
here is the starting text(3 laters total) Now I want to put all of the text onto a new picture(just text, not the black background, you know what I mean). But When I try to, I can only select one layer at a time, IE, the gold, the diamonds, etc. and when i try to line them up on the picture, it isn't successful.

quick question, after you have cut an image out of one picture, And pasted it onto another, is there a way to alter the size of the pasted part of the picture? I figured out you use the move tool to move the pasted part to where you want it but it's to big, i need to make the paste a bit smaller.

Cut And Paste?
I'm new to CS2 been using Elements 5 and decided to make the move into the big stuff. Took several photos, the one I liked the baby's eyes were half closed. I have another photo where his arms moved...blurred; but his eyes are open wide. How do I copy the open eyes and move them onto the closed eye photo? I did it in Elements but want to learn how to do it in CS2.

PS Cut And Paste
I often take screenshots from my screen. I do this by hitting the 'PrtScrn' button on my keyboard. Then I go to PHotoshop, make a new image and paste, but it doesn't paste the recently copied screen that is in the clipboard...?

Cut And Paste In Same Spot?
Basicly what I have is a picture on one layer. But I want to take a part of that picture, cut it, and put it on another layer. However, when I use the lasso tool or whatever to select it, I hit Ctrl+X to cut it and Ctrl+V to paste it. It pastes it on a new layer but it's in the center of the image. I want to cut it and paste it in the same spot that I selected it. Is this possible?

CS4 64-bit - Copy & Paste...
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I am having trouble copying and pasting things. The issue is that after I copy something/Print Screen, it takes several pastes for Photoshop to finally realize the change. Basically, the first couple of times I paste, the thing that was previously copied gets pasted it. I don't know if it's making a difference but it switches the paste to the latest thing that was copied faster after I minimize and maximize back the program. It's extremely annoying especially because then I have to either undo each time/delete the layers. Plus, I do a lot of frame comparisons between different video sources and it's hard to tell whether the thing being pasted was changed or not.Â

I've been doing PS for 10 years, it's time I learn how to do this... Paste in place? Anybody know how to do it? I'm running PS 7.0 on Windows XP. I make a selection, ctrl+x (cut), ctrl-v (paste) and it always pastes it somewhere other than where I cut it from.

Copy And Paste.
how I can simply copy and paste an area of an image back onto the same image? On my previous graphics software it was simply a case of highlighting the required area, click 'copy' then click 'paste' and bingo! To copy and paste on Photoshop seems much more involved including a number of complicated steps.

I have a template that I need to import a picture into. The template is a fixed size. The picture is much larger. When I use the "Paste Into" feature, only part of the image fits. Paste Into Selection
I have two images. In the first image, I use the rectangular marquee to set a selection that is 50x50. I basically want to take a 200x200 selection from a second image and paste into the 50x50 selection. I want the 200x200 selection to display in full when pasted into the destination? Second question, when using the rectangular marquee is there a way to manually set the width and height to exact numbers via the keyboard?

When i copy or copy merged and paste into a new canvas or layer, i get like a small Gradient round the sides of the image, the Gradient goes white. I know its a Copy problem because if i paste the layer selection into MS Paint it still gets that gradient around the sides.

CS4 Photoshop and Bridge no longer (apparently) allow me to cut and paste data in metadata fields (e.g., IPTC). Never had this problem in C3 and earlier. Is there an update (I hope) that fixes this problem?

Template Outline, Paste Into
I have 12 similar images with different patterns on them, but slightly different irregular outline forms. Each image is on a transparent background on a separate layer. I created an outline/pattern that I want each image to fill. I have tried to use channel/load selection w/paste -into, but the whole outline does not fill completely, seems truncated to the form I am cutting from. How can I do this easily? I am creating a logo with 12 different pattern on it. I read about shape mask/clipping, but not sure how to use this in this particular case either. My level of experience is beyond a beginner/novice, but definitely not an intermediate user.

Paste In Place Shop CS2+
The old "paste in place" function seems to be missing in CS2 (gosh i miss Shop 7 sometimes).. any idea of workarounds that aren't more than 2 steps? moreover: I have a selection, want to cut out or copy and place in the exact same place (either in same layer or new). Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. I can't tell why it works only some of the time.

Paste Into Colour/B&W Problem.
I am trying to copy a second image which is open in CS2 to another file in CS2 with the "paste into" option. It only copies in in B&W and I can not for the life of me figure out how to do it in colour, could someone point me in the right direction. Size Changes During Copy Paste?
size changing when I copy and paste a layer from one file to the next. I will use a hypothetical for an example but the concept and process has been confusing me on many projects. •Ok I have a new document blank page 5’’x5’’. •I would like to put a circle on there covering approximately 1/4. •I open up another file 2.5’’x.2.5’’. Place my circle on there going almost all the way to the edges. (lets pretend the circle is detailed and I do not want to resize it again) •I copy my circle, go over to the 5’’x5’’ image and paste. The pasted layer is always much larger then what it started. Not a 2.5’’ circle. I know about smart images and how to resize without distortion. My problem always occurs when I copy and paste. Well not problem but operator error.

Can't Paste Screen Shot
Photoshop CS3 won't let me paste in a screen shot anymore. I hit PrtScn, open Photoshop, create a new file (the file IS created at the size of the screen, which is a start), and hit paste and nothing happens. Edit/Paste is greyed out in the menu. I can however, paste a screen shot into Word, and then copy and paste that into Photoshop, but Word does something to the colors in addition to creating an extra step in the process.

Cs3 Stuck In Paste Mode
I have a multi layer psd and when I try to select a layer object and copy it, the copy function is greyed out and the only thing I can do is paste. If I let it have its way, it pastes in a previous copy. After pasting, I try to copy again, but the paste function is the only one active. I can not get PS CS3 to let me do a copy.

Preventing Paste Onto New Layer
everytime I copy nd paste, it always adds to a new layer. This can be annoying because the new layer lacks the blending effects. Ive got situations where I have tried to copy and paste a section which has been floating as a layer with effects on, and it pastes down onto a new layer looking completely different due to no effects. Is there a way to paste back onto the same layer. Or even better, a way to disable adding a new layer each time I wanna do a new action. It is alright sometimes, but layers can get a bit crazy when I have one for each line.

Copy & Paste Problem
I am working with a PSD. I am trying to copy a rounded button from the PSD and pasting it on a new image so I can use for a website. The image needs a transparent background. So I delete all the background layers (so it's transparent) from the PSD and copy the button. I then paste the button on a new image with a transparent background. Everything is good up until this point. However, when I go to save the new image it blurs the rounded edges from the button. This makes the button look bad on the webpage.

PrintScr -> Paste As New Image- PS Doesn't Do This
Just switched from paintshop pro. Worked with an earlier version of Photoshop which had , well much more than I needed before. But there are some basic things that, if because of how I work and the speed I am used to with the 'flow' of things, I will not remain on PS and go back to psp if this is not possible. Seems like software is going backwards but I disgress Issue: I want to be able to print screen, and then jump into PS and just click anywhere on the gray area and paste the scrnshot as a new image or hovering selection onto a current image without having to open a new window to the size of the image. Also - The zoom tool is VERY annoying in PS. I'm used to being able to just use the mouse wheel to zoom in, fix something , then quickly zoom out to check the validity of the fix...or zoom back in and repair the issue further etc etc. Is this not possibly also? I REALLY need AT LEAST these two functions to work like this. Everything else I will muttle through unless there is 30 steps to do what I could do in 5 in psp which from what I hear I doubt. I am running CS2 9.02
