I'm using Photoshop CS.
When I click on the "Filter" menu,
the following sub-menus are disabled:
Artistic
Brush Strokes
Distort
Pixelate
Render
Sketch
Texture
Video
All I have are Blur, Noise, Sharpen, and stylize!

Filter Menu Not The Same On A Mac As A PC?
I was doing a project at school on a PC and I came home and went to continue on my Mac and most of the options on the filter menu aren't there, specifically the artistic submenu, I searched through all the other menus and can't find it anywhere, am I just blind or is there something wrong with my copy of PS?

7 "Filter" Menu On MAC 10.4.6
I have PS 7.0 intalled on my IMAC, G5, OS10.4.6. The program works fine except for the Filters. The dialog boxes opens OK, but the image does not display in them, even with Preview checked. I tried it also, in Classic, and again, everything but the Filter menu worked. These are plug ins (I think from a 3rd party.) If I knew who the 3rd parties are I thought I might get a patch. How can I find out about those 3rd parties? I downloaded a trial version of PS CS2. The filters work fine on a file I CREATE in CS2, but if I click on an image created in PS7 it switches out of CS2 and into PS7 (where the filters don't work.) Bottom line:can I copy my PS7 images into CS2 and get the filters to work there? Adobe said I should buy CS2 for $169 and purchase a phone support contract for $159 for a year so that I could discuss it on the phone!!!

Extract Filter Missing From Filter
I have Photoshop CS4 running on a 8 gig Vista 64 bit system. When I click on Filters, there is no Extract Filter. I did a search prior to posting and saw some threads talking about not moving files, icons etc from their original folder. I am un sure if anything has been moved. However, when I click on Filters, they all seem to be there (at least not greyed out), EXCEPT for the Extract filter. Any help would be apprecited and if you let me know where the filters should reside I can make sure they are in the correct location.

DVD Menu
So i am reading on the adobe that encore and CS go hand in hand so i thought i would try making my own menus, but i cant get the buttons to work the way i want them. in the attachment you see the "play movie" that is srt8 forward but the "scence select" i want to open a new window with the scences on it and a back button and the same for the "Extra" button. i have tried the tut on the adobe site but it is very limited and because i am new to the CS world adding (+1) or (+%) to tiles is odd and it doesnt work so i know i am doing something wrong. So rant over but could someone try and post a DVD menu tut or a link to a good tut. Google didnt help me out much because everything just links to the adobe tut.

What Resolution For A DVD Menu PAL D1/DV?
I am creating a DVD menu (front-end) in Photoshop CS3. I have used the 'Preset' option when creating a new document and have selected 'PAL D1/DV' as these are the settings I require. My question is, what resolution should I select? It defaults to 72 pixels/inch for me is this what I should be using?

CS3 Actions Menu
When I click the little arrow on my Actions palette so I can choose an action, I have so many that I cannot see all of them as they go off screen. How can I change this so I can choose from all my actions? 2nd question on all of my things like actions, layer styles, etc. when I open up the Preset Manager to load a new item, it always shows a blank folder, but when you click on the little arrow of any palette you can see that I have a LOT of each item. What can be done about this?

Artifacts On Menu Bar In CS4
Iinstalled version of CS4 v11 with no plugins and all settings at the defaults. If I go to Help > About Photoshop (and other menu selections) it causes a gray line to suddenly appear through the menu bar. If I then move my cursor over the minimize/maximize/close icons in the upper right, artifacts appear. .

Drop Down Menu
I use photoshop to create basic layouts and templates for some websites I make and I have a client who wants a 3 layer drop down system. eg. contact > employees > names I have one built in html and java but I dont like it and doesn't work to great across all browsers so I was wondering if anyone here knew how to make a drop down menu system in photoshop? Im using cs3 on the mac but could adapt for any version or platform.

Text In Menu Doesn't Look Right?

Pop-up Palette Menu
I have a lot of brushes added to my list of brushes. When I open the list of brushes in the pop-up menu I cannot see the full list. The list opens but part of it is dissapearing off the side of the screen. Is there either, a way of scrolling across the full list or a way of shrinking it so the full list appears on the screen.

Menu Bar Freeze
When working in CS2 about every 10 minutes or so i'll go into my menu bar and it's locked up. No menu's drop down. The toolbox and all the tools and all keyboard shortcuts work but that's it. When I click on file, edit, etc. nothing happens. I have to ctrl+s and close Photoshop. A real pain in the ass. Adobe was no help so I'm reaching out to all you good people. My system is clean is any viruses, spyware and ad ware. I have no other problems of any kind and I'm working with small files (avg. 2 megs) with plenty of RAM (512 MB)

CS4 Refresh Of Menu Bar
If I open a dialog window (for example, edit/Color Settings or help/about) and close the dialog, a single blank line appears in the middle of the menu line (from File to X). If I minimize/restore PS window, the menu line returns to normal. If I mouse over an item on the menu line, its appearance returns to normal.

Sliced Menu
I designed a layout in PS and sliced the menu/btns as well. My btns are in the left side and in the right is the txt box. Whats my problem is when I add txt (a long txt msg) to the txt box the menu/btns in the left they strech downwards and lots of gap is made between the btns. So i am trying to make that menu remain in that same position and i can add the txt to the right.

Menu Keeps Opening
A lady who sits next to me at work had a problem with her Help menu in PS (F1 help). Some how it opened and got stuck in a loop where it would open about 10 times. You then close each one and it would open 2 more. Close those two and it opens 2 more, and so on and so on.... She said it happened when she tried to use the basic "Adjust Brightness Contrast" option. I like to think I am an above average PS user but this one got me stumped. I couldn't Ctrl+Alt+del or anything. The only way I got it to stop was to Alt-Tab back to PS and super quickly start pounding the Esc key. now she tells me this happens all tht time for her.

3d Menu Greyed Out
I have Adobe CS4 Extended, and I've been trying to use the 3d features ever since I watched John Nack demo it over on pixel perfect. But for me, the entire 3d menu is greyed out. I have enable GPU acceleration, but in order for it to work, I had to download the patch to allow older GPU's. My current graphics card is an Nvidia 8400GS. Nothing special, but it does all of the other GPU accelerated stuff such as rotation and zooming fine, so I'm puzzled as to why 3d wont work.

Fan Type Menu
direction with regards to developing a fan-like booklet, that is rivetted in the top left hand corner, and opens up like a fan. On the front Im going to have text... on the back i want strips of a JPG image to be pasted on each of the pages... When the booklet opens up into a fan, and you look at the back, you will see the strips of the image on each of the pages come together to form the full JPG...

Menu Color
When your Windows theme changed into something dark, specially anything closer to black, the context menu font in Photoshop still remains black, therefore unless you have a bright, or colorful theme, you won't be able to see it. Leaving aside aesthetical matters, I'd like to know if the color of such font can be changed. I think it's called the "context menu", I might be wrong here, but to put it in more down-to-earth terms, it's the menu that lets you do specific things such as change the width or the brush type. In other words, the menu below the standard "file edit view" menu.

Layers Menu Grey
While editing some, but not all files in PSE2, I find the layers menu and palette grey and unusable. This mostly occurs when I import a file from the web. I have tried saving the file in tiff or pdf format, but still cannot get the layers to work.

Customize Favourites Menu?
When we select File -> Open we’re presented with an Adobe designed file browser that has the files and folders on the right and a vertical bar of ‘Common Tasks’ )or Favourites) on the left. Is there a way to customize these ‘Common Tasks’? CS4 references a ‘My Documents’ folder location which is incorrect. I moved those files to a different location and I’d like to see where I can tell PS about this change. It would also be nice to add more convenient ‘Favorites’ and remove those I have no need for.

CS4 Main Menu Missing A Row
I have Photoshop CS4 installed on my laptop and Photoshop CS4 Extended installed on my desktop (part of Production Suite). I'm experiencing a problem on BOTH systems where the main menu is missing a row of pixels (see image below). Both systems are running Windows XP Pro SP3. I have Open GL disabled on both systems. The weird thing is the missing row of pixels comes and goes while I'm using the application. Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

CS4 - Menu Items Greyed Out ?
Why are my menu items greyed out until I hit a tool icon?Example .....open Photoshop, click "FILE" = everything greyed out except "recent" whose submenu (list of recent files) greyed out. No Menu Buttons Work
whenever im in photoshop, and i go to click "Save to Web" or any of the "Filter" options or anything like that, i click it and nothing pops up.... Building TWAIN Menu
I had Photoshop CS2 and CS3 previously installed, just installed "Adobe Creative Suite 4" but photoshop won't work. I start the program and as it is loading it gets to "Building TWAIN Menu Items" and then it stops and the "Send error report" window appears.

Show All Menu Items
resetting itself to factory defaults. Now I notice it has taken to hiding a lot of my menu items and I have to click 'Show all menu items' every time I open a menu. Most frustrating. And I can't find a way to force the blighter to do the decent thing and keep on showing me all the menu options. how to do this as the help files are less than forthcoming.

Hidden Tool Bar Menu-
For some reason now, when I select a tool with hidden tools under them, they display the hidden tools in a pop up next to the selected tool. This is very frustrating and causes me to lose a lot of valuable time with extra clicking. Does any one know how to reset this particular feature?

Menu Highlight Color
on my Photoshop cs3 some of the selections are highlighted with blue as shown by this picture Before a few days ago those were highlighted purple. Is there ANY way that I could change those colors to my own choice or is it something to do with Photoshop or maybe my system preferences?

Menu Or Tool Doesn't Work?
First thing you should do if a dialog box has commands greyed out or if a tool is behaving strangely is to: go through all the options for the tool in the options bar. Or if it is a dialog box then run through every dropdown menu and checkbox to see if one of those is causing the problem. No one knows every option and drop down menu for every dialog box and tool off by heart. So when you post a question all that happens is that someone on the forum will do exactly what I have suggested above then post the answer. Now while no one minds doing that it is better to do it yourself because that way you will learn and you will probably discover something else you didn't know along the way. Some common reasons for grey out commands is that many of the filters do not work in CMYK or LAB mode.

Double Menu Bars? - CS3
getting double menu bars at the top of PS CS3? It keeps happening off and on and when I click on the one that shouldn't be there it disappears. I've noticed it happening even after reinstalling CS3 on a new computer so I'm assuming others must see this as well.

CS4-Why Are Menu Options Disabled...
I just installed CS4 a week or two ago. I've used other versions in the past -- mostly for processing digital images -- and am now trying learn some graphic design techniques, I created a path using the pen tool, changed it to a selection, right-clicked inside the selection area and wanted to Fill the selection, but the menu option is disabled. Does anyone know why? or what I need to do to enable it? Those menu options never seem to enable in the main Edit menu either. I am running on Windows Vista, Dell Quad-Core system.

Menu Won't Pop Out On Styles Palette
When I click the triangle near the right side top of styles palette, the pop-out menu does not pop out. This feature works on the other palettes. Is there something I have set that prevents it from working? Is there another way to get to the menu to load some new styles? It doesn't matter whether I have selected a picture that has layers.

Selective Color Menu?

Menu Option Greys Out
Whenever I click on the color palette to choose a different color, the cursor changes to the eyedropper tool, and every menu option greys out with the exception of the view menu, the window menu, and the "Photoshop Help" item in the Help menu. Whenever I try to select another tool, all i get is a beep, and nothing happens. On top of that all, I cannot exit Photoshop normally, Instead I have to do a ctrl+alt+delete and kill the process. I uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop, and it still does it. As far as I know, it just started happening one day (but that doesn't mean that I didnt inadvertently change an option of some sort)

Menu Delay After Reinstall
On the tool bar (like where the dodge/burn, etc is). . .before I reinstalled - I clicked on a tool and it instantly opened. Now when I click on a tool, I have to hold my left mouse button down for a short delay. It is very annoying. Anyone know what I can change to fix this? The computer etc didn't change - did a fresh reinstall of cs2. . . Oddly, if I right click a tool - it opens instantly. . . but I never had to do that before.

CS2 Menu Bar And Document Windows...
I am currently using dual monitors and whenever I open or create a new document in CS2 it wants to go on top of the menu bar till I move it. This gets annoying after a while when trying to edit multiple documents. Is there a way to make the Menu bar always on top and the documents to just live in the work space below it and never go ontop of the others? I know this was possible in earlier versions of photoshop.

Alt-zooming Opens The Menu
When ALT+mousewheel is used to zoom, the ALT press is also interpreted to open the menu, so when I stop zooming, I have to press escape again to get out of the menu. Does anyone else see this? It's a bit of a pain. Usually, when ALT is used as a modifier for something else, it also cancels it triggering the menu.

Menu Options Greyed Out...
Just installed Photoshop CS4. Few problems I'm noticing: - On startup, most menu items under all the top menu are greyed out. It starts with the marquee tool selected, and if I select another tool (like the selection tool),the greyed out items (like File->Open) work and stay working. - I can't close PS CS4 after startup if I don't first select a different tool other then the default (marquee) - I installed a couple extensions via the Extention Manger and they do not show up under Window->Extensions (it's greyed out always). I've uninstalled and reinstalled, did all my Vista Ultimate updates (including SP1). Any thoughts would be appreciated. I've got a top end (well was last year) video card, lots of ram and disk, etc..Dell XPS410 system loaded. Â

Menu Slow To Respond
When I select clone stamp, then right click for the menu, there is a delay, about one time out of ten. It's the same when I move the mouse onto a pallete; the pointer disappears for a few seconds. Is there a setting I can change to reduce pointer delays? Also, I'm running a dual-core processor. Do I need to set photoshop up any different?

Changing The Color Of Text Menu
So I am attempting to use a black theme on my windows pc. My Creative Suite 2 products use black text in the menus and pop-up dialogues (such as canvas size). Of course, I can no longer read the options. Is there a way to get Adobe products to use the menu fonts defined by windows, or at least to change it within the software?

Contextual Menu Keyboard Shortcut
