Hand Drawn Picture Into A Vector Image
I'm a digital scrapbooker, and I have a hand drawn object that I would like to bring into my layout. I have scanned the image, brought it into Photoshop, used the magic wand to select it what I want, cut it and pasted it into a .png. file. The file looks boxy, though. I would like it to be clear and resizeable. I read something about turning it into a vector image, but I have no idea how to do that and don't know if that's the right thing to do.

Hand Drawn Type
I am making a small booklet, and I want to use some hand drawn type, and some other hand drawn stuff (sketches, symbols and stuff). I am used to using Illustrator and Indesign, but is not very strong in Photoshop. The thing is I scan the objects (drawings) and then it starts to go wrong. I want to be able to place my work in Indesign for use on top of other elements. I just cant seem to get a free form to use. So far I have tried selecting by color range on the all black and white stuff, but that don't work. I have tried copy pasting different selections into new psd's with a clear background... Nothing seem to work without going really pixilated and horrible. And I am really lost, I am sure it is some simple "multiply-/freeform-something" solution. But I just do not know of it.

Joint Two Separate Vector Images Into One Vector Image
I am making myself a logo in photoshop. I have made all the letters that will be used, but they are all seperate entities as most of you who have used vectors know. I would like to interconnect the letters, as well as an angel I have made to go above the letters. My question is, how can I join two seperate vector images into one vector image. For example, joining a letter E with a letter D. I wonder if theres a way to do this without having to delete part of each image and then re-draw, which is a pain. Sorry if this isn't really clear, but its hard to explain.

Hand Tool No Longer Moving Image
The other day the hand tool stopped moving the layer that is active. The spacebar still changes the current cursor to the hand tool but when I click and drag nothing moves. I can still select the move tool and move the layer but it's like hitting a speed bump in your work flow. I've clicked though the PS options but haven't been able to find a "move tool function the way it's supposed to" on/off switch. Could anyone offer any insight? Fire Hand And Ice Hand
Ive made 2 pictures with this sort of thing, which look really good btw thing is, i want to know how i an acually make a better fire hand effect (thing human torch style) and ice hand effect thing iceman style) My Human Torch Style (and let me be srs...i ripped that arm from a human torch pic) so i kinda wanna know how i can make one without using the accual hand >_> And my Iceman Style...while I did make this by myself, i forgot how >_< that and a few friends said it didnt look icey enough...

How To Change Jpg Image To Vector
I'm not sure if this can be done on photoshop cs2 or other adobe program, but here's the question anyway: I have a jpg file of text characters(attached) and like to: #get rid of the white background #change the characters to different color or maybe add texture or shadow #and convert the image into a vector any tips on how to do this? Automatic Vector And Straightening An Image
I have a requirement to take a relatively simple technical line drawing (think circuit diagrams etc) that have been hand drawn and then somehow convert them into a nice sharp and neat diagram that looks like it had been done in illustrator or Visio. I know that image editing tools such as Illustrator allow you to "vectorize" a bitmap image but the thing I don't about is whether any of the applications can automatically straighten and correct lines and give me a "nicer" picture as a result? Does anyone know if this sort of thing is even possible?

Vector Masks :: Cut Out Part Of An Image
how to cut out part of an image and completely turn it into something else. So far ive been able to figure out how to outline the image with the pen tool and then select "Vector Mask". Then the background of what i didnt select disappears which is what i want. So then i try to use a gradient to fill in behind what i cut out, and instead the gradient fills in what i cut out. How do i make it fill in behind the cut out instead of inside?

Blending Vector Onto A Beer Glass Image
I've got a vector image which I need to make look like it is on the front of a beer glass. How To Resize Shapes After Being Drawn
Excuse my ignorance but how can I resize or change the radius of a rectangle after it has been drawn other than the free transform tool in Photoshop? In other words I would like to be able to resize rectangular shapes after drawn by inputting a new dimension, something like Flash where you just type in the dimensions you want. Applying Layer Effects To Pen Drawn Shapes?
Let's start with a blank canvas. I draw a straight line down one side of my image using the pen tool (not freeform). It creates the line. I Ctrl/Click away from it to complete the path. Soft / Blurred Edges To Rectangles When Drawn With Grid / Guidelines Showing
I've got a very annoying problem. When drawing rectangles with grid / guidelines showing using 960 Grid System (although it happens with other documents as well), the edges of the rectangle are not sharp, e.g. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6232/blurred.png - note top and right side is blurred. There are no styles applied. When I switch off grids / guidelines, the rectangles are always sharp. Also, resizing rectangles causes loss of sharpness to edges. Using CS4.

Moving A Selection For One Image To Other Picture
How do I move a selection from one picture to a new picture, and keep it from being transparent, so it sits right ontop of an existing background? I have an existing background, I can use the magic wand to select items from another picture, and drag them to the new one, but they always change colors to fit the background. I want them to remain the color that they are.

Picture With Backlit Image -- Extract / Adjust
I have an image where there is an object in the foreground that is in the shade and the background that is bright. I want to correct the foreground image. I have tried to extract the foreground image and then drag the original picture onto the extracted one. I assumed that the I could somehow have the extracted image on its own layer and adjust it. When I do that either in the extracted file (before moving the original picture back onto it) or when I try to select its layer in the resultant picture, the entire picture -- foreground and background -- all layers, seem to get adjusted. How can I isolate the extracted image / layer to be able to adjust just that image.

Putting Image Name On Picture Using Photoshop Or Aperture
I recently photographed a wedding. All my photos are edited and ready to be sent off to be printed into proofs. I am wanting to give my client 4x6s of each photo I took rather than a proof sheet. In order for them to be able to choose which photos they would like more prints of, I am wanting to add, in small type, the image name of each individual image in a lower corner. I know how to accomplish this manually, however given the volume I'm dealing with I'd like an easy way to accomplish this in one fell swoop as a batch process. I have either Photoshop CS3 or Apple Aperture at my disposal.

Resizing An Image (smaller) Without Loosing Picture Quality
I want to resize an image without loosing picture quality but I'm not making it larger - I'm making it smaller. For example, there are small stars in the background which seem get deleted when I resize it. But here's the thing - After resizing it (but before "confirming" my changes), it looks perfect. Then I hit enter and then it deletes certain details. Basically I can look at the image at the size and quality I want in PS but I can't save it that way. And it's not a matter of saving it with a higher quality level, it happens as soon as I resize. WTF?

Second Hand Cs4
I've just found a copy of Photoshop cs4 at a price I might actually be able to afford. I'm a little worried that there might be a problem with the activation code though. Is anyone here using a second hand version of photoshop or has anyone had a problem reactivating a product. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's still quite a lot of money to shell out for something that won't work.

Cs4 Hand Tool
i have recently upgraded my computer with a new mb, 8gb ram, clean install of vista 64 bit and cs4. after initial problems with screen lag i installed a new graphics card and all seems to be working fine. problem is using the hand tool. i was accustomed in cs3 to comparing two files side by side, let's say the same image with two different levels of sharpening. i was able to view both images at 100% and using the hand tool move each image independently. this made comparing particular areas of the images easy. in cs4 when i open two images and use the hand tool it moves both images at the same time.

Hand Tool Bug
My cursor is showing the hand tool no matter what tool is selected. And the tools of course do not work then. PS restart does not help, I have to restart the PC (Vista 32 Ultimate). I read about this problem many time in the web. Why isn`t there any solution? Even CS4 11.01 has this bug.

Hand Icon
I'm a photoshop noob and I just purchased the CS3 version. I've been experimenting with different texts and styles and everything was going fine until.. I must of hit something by mistake but every time I click on a new tool icon on the left hand side (like text or brush for example) it doesnt come up. When I mouse over my image all I get is the hand icon. Its like stuck on the hand icon or something. I've been trying to figure it out for the past 20-30 min. Closing photoshop doesn't fix it either. I'm thinking I must of put myself in some special mode or something. The tool will be highlighted to the left..but like I said all that shows up when I mouse over is a little hand icon.

Hand Tool In CS4
way to use the hand tool (or spacebar) even if the entire image is visible, like you could do in previous versions. One might wonder why you would want to pan if you can already see the entire image. This comes up when one of your layers is bigger than the main image. If you try to Transform the layer, but the transform handles are off the edge of the screen, you need the hand tool. Otherwise you have to zoom out even further to get at the handles.

Transfering From Hand Sketch
Not sure how to really describe, other then i have recently (because of my playing with Photoshop) gotten back into some doodling, I have seen a few posts here and there of people doing hand sketches and transfering them to photoshop and "painting" them. My big issue atm would be getting the outline darkened and cleaned up, I know my pictures are a bit "rough." Everytime i try to sharpen the outline it gives me a kinda black and white esque photo copier effect, I know i could probably skip this step and just ink the original and work from that, but is there a way it would work on here? Here is an example of the pick i'm working with now, just a simple sketch i did in a couple free minutes the other day.

Object Blocking The Hand
the Situation: Model posed, lying flat with hands above head. Good shot, but the visible hand is smashed into a pillow a bit-- but it's not too bad-- i'm thinking i can "rebuild" the missing palm/ wrist area, but i realize that this is a difficult and touchy area-- it could turn out really bad if i'm not careful. if i do well however, it might not be too noticeable, after all-- it's likely not going to be the subject of focus. i'm looking for suggestions about what technique should be employed here, in order to get the most out of what's available, and also any ideas for how i might best "rebuild"

Hand Tool ? PSCS
I start up the program (Photoshop CS) the hand tool is selected. No matter what I try I can not select any other tools at all.
