Munsell Color To RGB- In CS2

know a plug-in or program that will take Munsell colors (e.g., 3.5YR 4/6) and convert them into a usable RGB color that i can then use in CS2. I get my colors in Munsell and now i am barred from using a freeware app to convert colors due to security measures.

Creating A Color Table For Print, Color Standards
I was wondering what is the best way to save a photoshop file such as a business card or stationary labels so they "KEEP" their color you see on screen.

I am already building in CMYK mode. My Client has a nice gray scale scheme but I am worried that the print shop will mess up the colors.

How do I create a custom set of colors and adhere to that scheme throughout the clients stationary and media.
ie. Cards, Labels, Signs, etc.

Is there an option to print a color scale along with the image, sorta like when you calibrate your printer?

Calculate Percentage Of A Color!! (know The Total Amount Of A Certain Color)
How do you know the total amount of a certain color from an image (in percent%)?
Is there a way to calculate it?

Let's say I have an image with a white background and a red figure.
If the whole painting is 100%, what's the percentage of the white background
or the red figure?
I need to know how to calculate this (accurate)

I make paintings with only 2 colors (a 'background color' and the 'main color')
To put an objective price on my paintings I decided to calculate the amount
of 'main color' (or background color) and base my prices on this information.
This is the only way I could price my art fairly an objective.

Color Picker :: Choose Color Outside PS Application?
Is there a way to choose colors outside of the Photoshop application using the Color Picker? Coming from Macromedia Fireworks, I have become accustomed to using the Color Picker tool within Fireworks, which enables you to pickup any color outside of the Fireworks application.

I have seen thrid party tools that let you choose colors from various programs, but they just give you the color scheme and you must type in these color values within Photoshop.

Matching Transparent Color To Solid Color
I have a solid green rectangle.

I would like to create several similar green rectangles at various levels of transparency that will perfectly match the color of the solid green rectangle. Is there an easy way to do this?

I have tried matching it by eye, and can get very close:

the original solid green rectangle is R:135 G: 174 B: 155

after making a copy of the solid green rectangle, say, 90% transparent, I can play with Hue/Saturation to get around R:136 G:175 B: 154, according to the eyedropper. But I don't see any way of fine tuning the RGB/HSB/etc. absolute values in the transparent version.

Color Picture To Color + Black And White
I have a color picture which I took, of a red berry bush. I want to remove all the color except for the red from the berries. I know how to lasso the berries, but I can't remove the color from the bush/background and leave the red berries.

Note: I did this once a couple years ago, and can't remember how I did it..I have some memories, but probably remember just enough to make me dangerous. I have done some searches but obviously the results are numeorus and I haven't found what I am looking for yet.

I know the solution involves selecting the berries and then inversing it and then setting all 3 colors to 0 for the background.

What I can do is
1) lasso the berries

2) inverse
what I can't figure out
1) it seems like there was 1 step about layering which enabled me to get started, but I don't remember this, it does seem like I am missing something very basic when I try to do this

3) Where is the color scale, the only thing I can find is the grayscale option which switches the entire project to black and white.

4-color To 2-color?
I am pretty comfortable in certain areas of Photoshop, but I have a lot to learn for the most part! I designed a menu in four colors, and the person I designed it for said they were happy with it, but want to save money, and only use their PMS color. So basically, if they are saying they want a white background and just their green on there, is that even considered 2-color? I thought 2-color was the PMS color and black? Can someone let me know how I would go about converting my 4-color menu cover into this format? I know how to do the font, it is the images I'm not sure what to do with.

Add Color
have been playing around with coloring black and white pictures.

One thing is that it is hard to color things that are extremely dark.

For example, if a lady has really dark hair and I want to color it a full blond color how can I do that.

My coloring process at the moment involves creating a layer on top of what I want to color, painting on that layer and using blending options(soft light) to add the color affect.

I'm trying to make an image printable only in black and Pantone 200 U. The image is already a CMYK. I've gotten as far as adding the Pantone 200 U channel but it just doesn't seem to let me take it to two colors. I did the dualtone thing too, but it seemed a little wonky looking. I'm probably just missing something 'cus I am no PS expert. I'm used to importing illustrator into PS and vice-versa. I'm also used to doing 2-color jobs in Illustrator. Somehow, in my 2 years working here, this is the first time I've ever had to do a 2-color PS job from scanned in images (that were pen/red sharpie/blue sharpie.......it's supposed to represent notes and doodles in a notebook) I already had the ad published in 4-color earlier this year, but I'm having trouble using that source and turning it into 2-color in PS. I've even tried live trace in Illustrator, taking the PS images and converting them to vector, and then changing it to 2 color,

Color Pro
I've never held much faith in Illustrator's color to begin with. But here's one for you.. I have 3 machines. a Mac G5 tiger, a Dell 8200 and an HP with Vista. I have 2 monitors. a 20" Viewsonic and a 24"

Samsung LCD Colorsynch. CS3 on the Mac and HP, CS2 on the Dell. My color profiles are the same on everything. I tried something not to long ago.

I opened a photo in PS on all 3 machines. Turned off the color management and enlarged the images so that the pixels were about 1/8" and took readings. All 3 machines read the same pixel differently.

I switched the monitors around. Different again. Opened the photo in illustrator. The 'per pixel' readings were different between Ill and PS on the same machine ( side by side ) and different in Illustrator from machine and monitor to machine and monitor. Needless to say I became quite frustrated ( and wished I'd never started the experiment ) I mentioned this to a friend of mine who's a pre-press tech. He tried the same experiment where he works on 5 different Macs and 1 PC. The results were the same. ( now he's upset ) I've come to the conclusion that there is no absolute in this case. I was of the opinion that regardless of the computer and/or monitor, the color values were mathematical equations. in other words, if the color value of a pixel was 21% C - 47%M - 81%Y - 54%K then no matter how it displayed or whether it was a Mac or PC, a CRT or LCD those were the numbers.

COLOR
I'm working on Windows XP with Photoshop CS3. I've got a 3D Studio Max file that has been rendered and exported as any of the following formats: JPG, TIF, PNG, BMP, etc. These files are exported without a profile (untagged).

When we open them in Photoshop, we make color adjustments and print them to a Canon 5180 printer and the color is MUCH muddier and warm than onscreen (whether we leave it untagged or assign and/or convert to Adobe RGB 1998). Granted, the monitors are not calibrated, but the image appears generally the same on a number of (uncalibrated) monitors: cool and crisp. Aside from monitor calibration, could there be anything else affecting color between the computer and printer? We've tried letting the printer manage colors and Photoshop manage colors, but the output is identical in both cases.

Color With CS2
Photos view VERY washed out when opened in Photoshop CS2. I am having a hard time making adjustments to my pics because I have to save the file and then open it in ACDSee to see what the REALLY looks like. Here is screen shot of a photo I took opened in PSCS2 and ACDSee (right)...

As you can clearly see, the PSCS2 photo appears desaturated compared to the same photo in ACDSee. This is NOT a problem with my camera...even stock professional photography (such as the ones that came with Adobe Lightroom) come out looking the same way...ALL photos do. Here is the profile I started with (I have since checked the boxes for profile mismatches)...

I've tried changing the color profile to Adobe RGB 1998 and I've even hit Ctrl+Alt+Shift when opening PS (to reset back to the default settings), and I've tried disabling Gamma in startup...nothing has worked. Could my software be corrupted? The only thing I haven't tried is calibrating my monitor with a hardware device like Monaco or Gretag/Macbeth.

I'm using Adobe PSCS2 (version 9.0.2) in Windows platform with an NEC MultiSync 22" CRT monitor on an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra graphics card (I've update the drivers for both my monitor and card) and my proc is an Intel P4-EE 3.2 GHz on an MSI-NEO mobo with 4-gigs of ram.

Repaint Just One Color?
I used to work in Marketing and design and I learned to use Corel before anything and I just got Photoshop7 and I'm trying to change colors of just the letters on a small permit I have.

Dude, stop laughing I know Corel is the preschool of all of this, I got it. Even the dumbass in Best Buy couldn't stop giggling...

A little help though. Remember I don't know Photoshop from my left nut!

The background is white, the letters are blue. I want the letters to turn green. Upon scanning and zooming in (using Image Ready might I add) I realized not all the pixels are the same shade of blue, in fact some are a slight hue of pink, some a lighter brown and some a pastel blue, so on and so on. I spent about 2 hrs just "selecting" what I sisn't want to change and what I did. Now I'm running around trying to come up with a respectable color change for each pixel in a green shade. I have no idea if this is neccessary. If it is I'll find a different shade, if it's not what can I do?

Let's say it is necessary, can I make all of the light pinks a certain shade of green? and after that can I make all of the shades of brown a different shade of green and so on and so on?

Which ever one you guys advice me on, please don't forget to give me instructions as I have no F-n clue what I am doing.

Replace Color
A basic question for a basic user. I have a layer in an image which I created by using a paintbrush to create a shape using the colour black on a transparent background. I want to change this outline shape to a certain green. I go to Image/Adjustments/Replace Color. I click the radio button called Image and I see my black outline on a white background. The colour in the little boxes is black, same as outline.

I change the foreground colour to the green I wish to use and this changes the colour in the little boxes in the Replace Color window to that green. However, whichever eyedropper I choose to click on the black outline in the image just changes the colour in the little boxes back to black. So it is working in reverse to what I want to happen. How can I get the outline to turn from black to green?
