Pixel Dimensions In CS2
I opened a jpg image in PS CS2, and opened the Image size panel. I found the following: Width 2304 px., height 1728 px., doc size 32" x 24" at 72 px/in, and Pixel Dimensions 11.4M.
Can anyone explain the relationship of the pixel dimensions to the other data, i.e., how the pixel dimensions are calculated.

Pixel Dimensions Of A Layer Within The Project?
Is there any way of getting the pixel dimensions of a layer within the project? Clicking on image>image size only gives me the dimensions of the entire thing. Example: I am building a mockup of a Website at 1000x620. After adding photos and free transforming them, I would like to know what the size turned out to be so that I can now resize the original photo to place in the site.

Show Pixel Dimensions During Crop
I need to be able to see the pixel dimensions while I'm cropping. I clicked on the "Info" pallet and it shows this in inches, however, I didn't see how to change it to pixels. For some website work I need to set images to specific pixel sizes and yet be able to move around the image to crop where I need at these dimensions.

Changing Somthing's Color Pixel By Pixel
It blows my mind that somthing this simple isnt all that simple. I used the eyedropper tool to slect a color from another photo, then used the brush while fully magnified to change the color of each pixel. It was coming out a weird greyish color, and I noticed that if I clicked more than once, it got darker, but so did the pixels directly around the one i was editing. So, i copied both pictures, loaded them into paint, and went to town. It worked, but then when i copied it back into photoshop, it had a black background (there was no background in the original pictures) around the sprite I was editing. I tried to use the magic wand tool to get rid of it, but it took parts of the sprite with it, so... Is there any way that I can edit the color of a single pixel (or hell, even a group of pixels if they share the same exact color would be nice...preferred, even) accurately? If not, what program could I use that would keep the transparent background?

Crop - Keep Dimensions But No Resize
I want to use the crop tool to edit my image - I want the crop tool to maintain the image dimensions (i.e. 4x6), BUT I don't want the image to be resampled. All I see with the crop tool is that if I want the size to be constrained, it makes me pick a specific size, not an aspect ratio. For example, if I say 4 inches by 6 inches and crop a very small section of my image, it will crop it, but then resample it and blow it up to a 4 inch by 6 inch photo. I really just want the ratio to be maintained. 4x6.

Preserving Image Dimensions
I have used a template in Photoshop CS2 to create a DVD/CD Cover and I have an issue saving the image for upload at the correct dimensions. This is what I have - CD cover @ 4.75 x 4.75 inch with 300dpi. This gives me an image with a resolution of around 3000 x 3000 pixels.(approx) There is no problem printing from PS as the dimensions in Inches is the default print size. The problem comes when I export the image as a JPEG ready for upload and sharing. It seems the pixel resolution becomes the default size settings. This will give the end users problems in printing at the correct size for their CD cases. I, can get round this as my printer allows me to 'print at the original size' which defaults back to the size set in Inches but I don't think everyone has this option. Is there any way to ensure that the end user will d/l or save the uploaded image at the correct size so that they will not have to do anything other than print it? The last thing a want to do is make it a difficult thing for them to obtain. FYI - I would like to keep the dpi resolution if possible as there is a lot going on and this might be lost if the quality is reduced.

Saving Slices Dimensions
I have a number of HTML pages with similar designs that each need to be sliced up by exactly the same dimensions so I can just pop in new path names into the same HTML template. Is it possible to save slices like pattern or brush sets where I can load them into a new document? I've been looking for a feature similar to this and can't seem to find anything that is helpful in Imageready, anyone have any ideas?

Why Doesn't Illustrator Use The Artboard Dimensions When Saving As Pdf?
When I save as PDF with Illustrator CS, the dimensions of the resulting PDF do not match those of the artboard in Illustrator. Instead, I think it uses the 'total' dimensions of all artwork in the AI file. So also artwork which is partly invisible (because of a clipping mask for example) is used to define the PDF dimensions. So my question is: Is there a way to save PDF files with the same dimensions as the artboard?

Image Not Exact Dimensions On Monitor
Originally noticed individuals faces were just slightly elongated on the monitor screen. Used printer profile template and did not zoom to where you had to scroll up or down, etc. Although smaller than actual size, the entire image fit on the screen. Measured width and height and then calculated to see how far off the image ratio actually was. It was indeed slightly elongated. Did this on two 17" monitors with different dimensions (Length & Width)and different monitor resolutions. Did this with both Windows XP and Mac Book Pro using the same image in Photoshop CS2 (Win) and CS3 (Mac). The Windows image is slightly more elongated than the Mac. The Mac screen resolution is slightly greater than the Windows. The image on the Mac is less elongated than that of the Windows but nonetheless elongated. Never noticed until the recent purchase of the Mac. The XP system prints exactly to scale. Have not yet printed with the Mac.

Image Reduction To Exact Dimensions
I've created a FIRE psd image and saved it as a jpg file: I would now like to use this image. To do this I need to reduce this image to the following precise dimenstions: height: 238, width: 264. I know how to select and trim the image that I want using the Square deselect tool. No problem there. What I don't understand is how can I see the precise dimensions of this new image BEFORE I save it as a new file. Is there a way for me to see these dimensions as I select the image and adjust the selection accordingly?

Changing Image Size On Images Of Different Dimensions
I have to process a couple of thousand photos. What I need to do is get PS to resize the canvas so that Height=Width, no matter which is the larger. In the area where it increases the canvas size, it should then have white space. So that for a 10x5 landscape picture, it resizes to be 10x10 canvas, for a 5x10 portrait picture, it resizes to be 10x10 canvas, etc.

Pixel To Cm2
how to convert pixels to cm2? for example, let's say that i have an area of 100 pixels. the square root of the pixels is 10 and the resolution is 10 pixels/cm. thus the area in cm would be 1 cm squared, correct? unfortunately, this does not compute correctly in photoshop. as in the number that i get never corresponds to the actual dimensions measured in the image.

Pixel Tolerance
bought a CD printer and made a template on photoshop. when using the elliptical tool (and yes, i held shift+alt to make it symmetrical/centered) to make the work paths around the inner ring, it asks something about pixel tolerance (the default was at 2.0) and after i hit okay, the circle becomes messed up.. how can i make a perfect circle? if i change the tolerance numbers to higher or lower, the circle becomes even more irregular and jagged. this is how it looks in photoshop... this is a smaller version (kind of easier to see the irregularities) and this is how it looks when i print it

Pixel Size Changes
I often have to make borders for certain pictures, and I usually make them at 3px. Sometimes they are nice and thick like 3px should be, but sometimes they come out thin. It doesn't matter whether I am editing on a jpeg or png. Also I edit them in grayscale mode if that helps. I also noticed them problem with the brush, and text tool, as in pixels changing size (going from normal to smaller). I have tried resetting all settings. Should I remove the configuration folder in AppData (I use vista 64 bit)? I use the pencil tool to make borders.

Pixel-To-Vector?
I've been using for a while and still haven't found a way to vectorize graphics. I can't really think of a "professional" way to ask this, but is there any way to change medium of preference to vector? I figure if a less prestigious program like Corel can render in vector and if Adobe's little flash program can manage it, there has to be a way to switch from pixel to vector graphics in Photoshop. I don't mean rasterize or vector mask. I'm already working at 500 dpi to minimize the jitter from my unsteady pen hand, but working in vector would be ideal for me so my linearts cease to look like they were drawn by a crack addict in withdrawal. =/ If anyone knows how I can switch mediums, or if there's a plugin that can make the switch for me, let me know.

Pixel Bender Filters
I`ve just downloaded the Pixel Bender filters for Photoshop CS4 from Adobe Labs. The speed of those filters is really incredible (GPU accelerated)! Most of them are pretty much useless in my opinion. I hope we will get more usefull filters like a simple gaussian blur or unsharp mask or smart sharpen. Of course we already have those filters in Photoshop, but not at that speed. Pixel Bender is really realtime!
