ScanGear CS Preview Images Appear Sharper Than In PS
Using ScanGear CS, the software that Canon use to communicate with PS, and the preview images of the final scan appear sharper than the images you get when you close out of ScanGear and are back in PS. In PS, the images appear dull. To get anywhere near the preview image involves heavy use of the Smart Sharpening filter. Is this the case for all scanning software? Using Canoscan 8400f, magazine colour setting, 300dpi (print). CS3.

Psd Preview With Cs
i recently upgraded to photoshop cs from 7. immediately i realized that when you look for a psd with windows explorer it no longer shows you a preview of the file, or what it looks like. is there any way around this, or is there a setting i can change to enable this? i know that you can use the file browser in cs, but i find it to be a lot slower and more tedious to find a psd that way. this can be really annoying when you are trying to find a file among a hundred or so psd's in a folder.

NEF Preview
I've lost the histogram and image adjustment tools when previewing NEF files. The only tools i have when previewing is the exposure compensation slidebar and the white balance dropdown menu.

Preview Is Not Being Created
I am running Photoshop 7 on a Mac, the problem is that when I save a group of Jpegs, for some a preview is created, and others there is no preview. I am also using iPhoto, To get a preview I am having to use SAVE AS and that is tedious. I seem to only be able to view the images with a preview on my DVD player - so If I burn a disk, I have to create previews beforehand.

Brushes Preview?
I have gotten so excited about brushes I have downloaded tons of them, over 500, I like them all and will probably use hardly 1/5 of them Is there a way to save these and be able to see a preview of brushes without loading them in PS. Or should I just delete them all and look when I need something?I would prefer saving to skip the search process but it is so hard to remember which is which.

Brush Preview
I can't get the red brush preview to work. I can change the brush size through the shortcut (alt, right-click, drag), but it doesn't preview. Also, when I try to change the hardness, I get no preview at all either. The command works, but all I get it a round hairline.

Brush Preview In PS CS4
When my instructor shows the brush preview mode, his brush looks like the selected brush, which means that if there's a lot of feathering on it, he can see that. In the same mode and with the same cursor settings in the preferences, I only get a circle indicating the size of the brush. There's nothing to see about the relative hardness of it. COuld this be because I'm running on Windows XP? If not, how can I get to see the brush the way he does.

When I am adjusting or filtering an image I get a preview box and the actual image changes behind the box to however I put the settings to, so I use it to see what its going to look like. But when I press "ok" it turns out completely different than it was in the previews. Why is this?

Increase Cs4 3d Preview Resolution?
When I work on the texture in one window and have the 3d window showing there is a huge discrepency in the preview resolution in the 3d window. It only gets crisp when I interact with the 3d model, move, rotate etc, but when I stop, it gets all pixelated again. I have it set to Best AA but that made little difference and I'm not finding any options anywhere. Is there any way of setting the redraw resolution of the 3d preview to match the crispness of the 2d canvas?

I have a question does bridge cs3 need cache (drive space) to preview a photo or to see my photo with the slideshow feature ? i mean does bridge need to render and store the photos in the database to let me see in the slideshow or browsing i don't talk about thumbs or does it on the fly?

Preview Window Not Accurate
I'm using the Adobe Photoshop CS3 trial on a Windows Vista machine - I've been using it for a couple days and I've noticed a number of times that the image in the preview window doesn't match what I get (usually after using image adjustment tools like Layer, Contrast/Brightness, or Curves - haven't noticed it so much with Filters, but haven't been using those as much yet either).

Colors Changed On Preview
I've been having a strange color issue with Photoshop CS3 (and Illustrator CS3). I'll make a design or drawing in Photoshop or Illustrator, then save it as a jpg to email it off to my client for previewing using gmail. In the gmail preview, the colors are completely off (for example, a yellow lemon will appear bright turquoise) and when I "view" the jpg in the web browser on mine or any other computer (mac and pc), the colors are sort-of neonized versions of the original colors. However, if I download the file and open it, the colors appear correct.Â

Preferences -- Image Preview
Can anyone tell me whether clicking this setting on will improve Bridge's ability to create thumbnails and previews of large (but still under the limit set in Bridge Preferences) Photoshop files? When I save multi-layered PSD's, some of their thumbnails show up, some don't. I can't find a pattern. This is part of a larger issue which makes me a little nuts about so many computer programs. In the Photoshop Help page, this is what I found: ]Image Previews ] Choose an option for saving image previews: Never Save to save files without previews, Always Save to save files with specified previews, or Ask When Saving to assign previews on a file-by-file basis. In Mac OS, you can select one or more preview types.

CS4- No Thumbnail Preview, Hard To Look...
I wonder why there's no thumbnail preview in CS4? I'm using Vista and when I switch to view as thumbnails, the psd file seems showing [ps] icons. These gives problem when I want to search any older psd files I did last month or beyond. I must open all those files one by one just for looking a file. It wastin my time... When saving the file; there's a 'thumbnail' check box, but what it means? Is there any solution so I will have the thumbnails preview for psd files? I like the item pictures appear automatically without any procedure when saving any psd.

Texture Tile Preview
Does Photoshop have the ability to preview a texture that will be tiled? For Example: I am modifying a brick picture I took to use in SketchUp and want it to tile seamlessly. I can keep going back and modifying, then placing it in SketchUp, modify more, place it... until I get it right. However it would be nice to be able to see it in Photoshop.

Print With Preview Not Previewing
This a new computer with fresh install of Photoshop. When she chooses Print with Preview and sets up all the parameters within the dialogue, and finally clicks print, the job goes straight to the printer (Epson 1440). She told me that on the old computer it would produce a preview as indicated and she could check colors, sizing, etc, before sending the job to print. I've gone through and can't see any changes to be made that would enable this feature.

No Preview Of PDF Files In Thumbnails
I have reactivated Photoshop CS3 on my new computer. The only thing that is diffirent and irritating is that I have no preview of my PDF files - just the Photoshop icon. When I go to File - Open - I have no preview of the thumbnails. I didn't have this problem on my old computer. Same photoshop. I have now have Windows Vista.

Print With Preview Different Than Image...
I am using CS2. when I print with preview and choose "any" icc profile, I see an off color image. This off color image is printed off color and not what I originally had. It is approximately 1/2 to one stop density lighter (and redder) and the shadows are cyan/blue, instead of neutral black. If I choose Adobe RGB as the profile and print, the image is close but not correct. This is happening with CS2 and elements 6. Of course the r1800 is set for ICM and off - no color adjustment. I have down loaded new profiles, reinstalled my epson r1800, checked for missing files in CS2. I am running windows XP Home, 2gig memory, dell xps. I have been using this system for over two years without a problem until now.

Canvas Artifact Preview , CS3
When I open up, let's say a picture of a cat, of ordinary size (10x 10cm) and above in Photoshop CS3, I get some strange squarelike artifacts that disappears momentarely when i move my cursor over it. I've added a link to the picture to illustrate my problem. What i can't figure out is when these artifacts occur I'm able to save the image in, let's say .Jpg, and the jpg records the box-artifacts into my final version (se link). I also get strange results while zooming in and out on canvas causing the image to change the box-artifacts into diffrent patterns. Iv'e tried to update my drivers reagarding every graphical components in my computer but nothing seems to work. I've played with various settings in PShop but nothing changes. New HDR Image Darker Than Preview
I was using Adobe Bridge to combine sets of 3 photos with different exposures to create HDR images and sending them to Photoshop. So far today I made 20+ such images and successfully saved them into PSDs. I just ran into an odd problem. After clicking 'Merge to HDR' in the Bridge -> Photoshop option, Photoshop did it's thing of merging my 3 images. The preview window came up, it looked perfect, so I clicked 'Ok'. Then it created an Untitled document (as it always does), except that this image is much darker than what was shown in the preview. I tried doing some light adjustments, can't get it to be what I saw in the preview window. All of my other HDR creations were exactly the same as I saw in the preview window. What's going on?

Need A Action To Preview Pictures In...
Is there a script or guide for applying the Infrared effect to a picture, or multiple pictures? What if I want to apply this effect to all pictures in a folder and then browse each, without permanently applying the effect to those pictures? A preview mode. I have tried making Action script in CS3, but it sort of stops after bring up the Black and White screen and then changing the picture to B&W.

Should One Change The Resolution Of The Preview Photo?
I use PS 7 and learning fast. The default resolution when I open a photo, is set on 72 pixels per inch. This produces a photo with not a lot of detail and my previews are not the same as the end result. I have read somewhere that it is better to work on 300 dpi. Is this correct? And if so, how do I change the default setting? Or should one always work on 72 and occasionally change to 200-300 dpi?

4 Channels Files Per Pic + Preview File
I've got a folder containing 170 pics. They are all DCS 1.0 files which means that folder actually contains 850 items (4 channels-files per pic + preview file). I need to open each one of 170 pics and save them as EPS (either binary or JPEG - doesn't matter). If I try to automate it, it actually tries to open every channel instead of opening only the preview file.

Liquify Preview Has Stopped Working In...
I've searched around for an answer to this, but a question for the same problem doesn't seem to have been asked anywhere that I've found, so I hope someone here might know. I am running CS on Windows XP. I previously used the Liquify filter on a large picture with no problems. Now I want to do a new one, but the preview of Liquify won't work - the picture comes up, but I can't see the real-time changes. When I hit OK the changes show up on the picture, but since I couldn't see what I was doing, they're not what I want. I have found where someone has had this problem, but it seems like they always had it and was never able to see the preview, which isn't the case here. I have tried updating my video driver, like someone advised in that case, but it did nothing. I made no changes to the computer's hardware since it last worked (May). I have also tried using a small file to see if it was the size of the file, but the preview didn't work then either. I have an external drive where my file resides, with 74.5 GB free. 12.5 GB is free on my internal HD, which is where Photoshop is installed. 931 MB RAM. Since it worked before, I'm hoping it's something like clearing up more memory space on my HD.

Change 32-bit Preview Options Back To...
I've been using Merge to HDR to make 32-bit images the past few days. It all went beautifully until yesterday when all of a sudden Photoshop started to display any newly created images very oddily (extreme gamma/exposure values). I've been able to pinpoint it to the View -> 32-bit Preview Options window, which has very erratic values. So somehow Photoshop defaulted to very incorrect values for this window. Is there any way to change the default values or reset this menu option?

Interactive Crop Rotate Preview?
I'd like to be able to get an interactive preview of cropping as it's happening, ie, a subwindow that shows the crop in normal orientation as it will appear after the crop takes place, even as you rotate the crop, etc. Is Photoshop capable of this, or does anyone know of a plugin that can do it? Basically I want to simulate holding a pic and playing around with crop masks, but its sometimes hard to really visualize what a rotated crop will look like in it's final orientation.

CS 'in Place' Font Preview Not Working
when you create some text, highlight it, then go to the font chooser dropdown menu and use the arrows to scroll through the installed fonts, the highlighted text will change in place to the fonts you are selecting. Is there some setting you can use to turn this on/off, because I have never seen this work once, and i'm REALLY aching for this type of functionality. So far this is the one thing about Photoshop CS that kills me is choosing from my many fonts... I always end up having to open flash, in which that feature does work for me- but it's not the same when you don't have all the rest of the design right there to be able to see the difference.

CS2 Filter Gallery Improved Preview
The new filter gallery takes forever to preview. I assume this is because the preview area is so much bigger. I personally find it much more advantageous to preview a small portion of the image until I get the settings right, then run the filter on the entire image. Is there a way to run the filter functions in "classic mode", or reduce the size of the preview area so I don't have to wait forever each time I try a new setting?

Color Difference Between Original Image And Preview
I'm using version 5.5 in Windows 2000. I am confused because all other images in other programs etc appear normal whereas in photoshop 5.5 they have a greenish tinge. I corrected this on the original image by choosing View > Preview > Uncompensated RGB. However, if I try colour adjustment etc e.g. variations, all the preview images still have the green tinge. Does anyone know how to correct this? Also Uncompensated RGB is supposed to be the default view, but when I close PS the setting is lost and on opening, all images including the original are back to green. What am I missing? I have other versions 5.5 and CS on other pcs with no problems.

Action :: Creation Of Several Preview Thumbs From One Image
I'm trying to simplify the creation of several preview thumbs from one image. For example, my base image is a 400x600px image, and from this image I need to create the following thumbs: 1: 150x100px 2: 100x150px 3: 69x42px 4: ... I would like an Action that would Crop the base image and save a copy of each of these thumbs. I can't fugure out how to do this since I need to adjust the Marquee selection for each thumb to Crop the part of the base image I want. So can this be done? So the action is started and it pauses for each Marquee selection (the aspect ratio for the selection should not be entered each time, I need that info hardcoded in the Action) and then I can continue the Action and then adjust the Marquee for thumb #2.. and so on..

File Browser Preview Vs. Opening Image In PS CS
I have my PS CS file browser preferences set to "High Quality Previews" and the previews look great--sharp and crisp! However, when I actually open up the image it doesn't seem as sharp--it's a little soft. What is the "high quality preview" doing to make it look so sharp? Does anyone know what settings the preview is using? I want my actual images to look as sharp as the previews! It seems like a major teaser that the preview looks BETTER than the opened image.

Rollover Preview Works In Original View, Not Optimized
'How to Create a Rollover Button' tutorial. I've read and reread the steps too many times already and I've done everything correctly. The image I'm now making has a row of squares which, when rolled over individually, should activate other squares below them. That's the only difference between this that I'm trying to make and all the ones before it (which have had text that is replaced on the over by a different colour in the same position). Anyway, after I've created the slices and the over states, the rollover only works in 'original' view
