Printing Fonts From PS CS2
I have noticed that if I create a new file in PS CS2 and either print or create a PDF to print, the fonts come out with a gray "halo" around them on my $80k laser printer.

Tile Printing With High Resolution Printing?
i have an image that is 28' wide by 60' high. i have to tile print it, but i have to print it out on film (see thru acetate). it has to be able to print at 1400 dpi. i know how to print at 1400 dpi on adobe photoshop, but i dont know how to tile print on that program. i have the image now in illusrtator, because it lets me tile, but i cant get it to print out for film (1400 dpi). im using a epson 1280 printer. i really need to be able to tile print this in high resolution on film. anyone know what i can do??

Photo Printing - Not Printing To Border
i've tried both borderless and non, I've also realigned by cartridges and updated drivers and program. When I'm printing with Photoshop CS, didn't do it on 6.0, it's not printing properly at all. It's not printing to the edges of the paper (4x6) and the space it's leaving on all sides isn't even. If I choose borderless it's even worse and if I print a larger picture on 8.5 x 11 and pick center, it's not even close, I'm talking inches off.

PDF And Fonts
If I'm creating a Photoshop PDF in order to keep the type in vector format, will the font then be embedded in the PDF? I'm not rasterizing the type since I want it to stay vector, but then I'm worried that if I share the file someone else will have trouble with it. I made a Photoshop PDF yesterday that I needed to share -- I just sent the font along with it. I knew it would probably ask for the font if they attempted to edit it in Photoshop -- but if they just printed it from the PDF maybe it would be embedded? Acrobat is listing it as an embedded subset, but I don't see how it can be embedded if the editing capabilities are still there.

Can't See Fonts?
I donwloaded some fonts of the web and saved them to the fonts folder in common files. But when i go to Photoshop the fonts are not listed on the fonts list. I'm using Photoshop CS3 Extended.

Fonts!
I constantly have this problem of fonts cos I design with a PC and most of my print beareaus use MACs. I understand the Postscript issue but is there anyway around it as it is quite frustraiting. I have tried transfering to illustrator and converting to out lines but then it only looks great with particular fonts and I cannot use small sizes.

Bug In CS Regarding Fonts?
I have done a search and seen some similar topics, but let me describe my problem just in case... I am using Photoshop CS and I have installed a huge font lib. onto my PC. When I load Photoshop, it does take a while to load, but when I try to access all of the fonts, it only loads through the letter "F" I believe.

Fonts Don't Appear!
I want to install new fonts in Photoshop....so I placed them into the Adobe Fonts Folder:C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobeFonts As well as in the Windows Font Folder. I heard putting them in this folder is not enough, and that I need to install them as well.I tried this by File - Install New Font. The issue here is that the new window does not let me chose items on my desktop, only in some obscure window files.

I have a lot of fonts, around 3.500 alltogether, only about 1.500 are loaded in the windows font folder, the rest are stored in another folder on desktop called master fonts (along with master actions etc etc. I just load the ones I need by dropping them in the windows fonts folder when I need a particular one. I thought it might be a good idea to back them all up to CD. Before doing it I thought it might be usefull to have the original default windows fonts folder in there just in case I ever want to reset it (unlightly but you never know) so I copied the fonts folder from another PC, also windows xp which has just been installed and so was the original set, put it in the master fonts set made my cd, no problems. Then it all started to get strange, next time I opened PS CS and went to use text I only had the original windows fonts, thinking CS was picking up the default fonts folder I deleted it (I'd only put it in for the cd) but still I only had the original fonts. I checked the windows font folder, all my extra fonts were still there, now I was getting baffled, even stranger when I opened up a text in CS now I had a preview of the font in use, which I have never had before. In the end I had to do a system restore to cure it.

Too Many Fonts?
stability with too many fonts installed? I also noticed that my font viewer started acting funky after about 800 fonts or so. Right now I've got about 1500 fonts, but really, there are a few more I'd like to add. "font management"?

Fonts Not Available
When I load a .eps image through photoshop CS4, it is alerting me that all fonts are not available to rasterize the image...I seem to get small X's surrounded by boxes in certain images... I did get a file of fonts (.t1 files) <10kb, but they do not seem to install into the windows font directory... Does any of this make sense? I am assuming the fonts they sent me are invalid?Â

Fonts On A Mac
On a Mac we have a fonts book which we can create a folder of favorite fonts,I have done so. What I am trying to do is make CS4 only select that folder instead of opening all my fonts, is there a way to do that?I have thousands of fonts I would rather keep on my hard drive rather than removing them and seaching for the appropriate font by loading CD each time. I have a 1TB HD and 4GB ram so it doesn't bother anything but photoshop as far as bogging down. MacOSX 10.5.7 CS4 11.0

Using Non-PS Fonts
Just completed a film. Used Optima font throughout film. Want to use the same font for the DVD graphics. Is there a way I can import the font into Photoshops font folder? My Photoshop 7 has an Optima font, but it is different than the one we used in the film. Very different. I do have a the right Optima in my font library. But can't figure out how to get Photoshop to read it. Photoshops font folder looks like it has some proprietary set up.

I've never had any trouble with fonts in Photoshop VS 5 ,and 7 ......but in CS2 when I write something in Ariel it turn out that I don't get lower case letters ........just all upper case letters.........eg, MICKEY MOUSE Thats what it look like when I type a capital "M".

UPC Fonts
I have a set of UPC fonts (sent from my replication company I'm using for a new CD) but I have no code to work with - the UPC fonts are individually encoded. I know what the barcode is supposed to look like - but I've spent the last 21/2 hourscourging the net trying to find the answer - I've come close, even downloaded some macros for EXCEL-it was off quite a bit. The fonts work great in PS but it's the language I don't have. the encoding is UPC-A After 4 CD's this is the first UPC I've actually had to deal with - I'll be exporting to Quark 4.1 I'm in PS 7 on a G4 MAC. This CD has been delayed so long I really need this out within a day or so.

Missing Fonts
Running Mac OS 10.3.9, on G-4, all my fonts showed up in PS 7 and 8, on my new G-5(not dual core) I'm only seeing font families A thru F. All fonts appear and work in all other programs on the G-5. Does anybody know why PS 7 and 8 are only seeing part of the fonts available.

Cyrillic Fonts
I'm having trouble writing in Russian in Photoshop. Specifically, I'm hoping there's a magical solution that allows Windows IME to type Russian in Photoshop 6.0. I have no problem inputting Japanese or Korean via my IME, but for some reason, it will not let me type Russian. I have Russian fonts installed, but this doesn't help. In fact, the only way I can get Russian into PS is by first typing it in another program and then copying and pasting it into PS, only if I have one of my Japanese ...

CS2 Fonts Get Replaced?
I've been using photoshop (CS2) on windows XP for quite a while just started getting a strange problem with one font - Adobe Caslon Pro. When the type is used I get a strange dingbat type font appearing in it's place. (The preview in the selection drop down is as it should be. This only happens in photoshop. All is ok in Illustrator & InDesign, also ok in Word. I did put some new fonts into the main window font folder a few weeks back from the CS2 CD (goodies). As an attempt at a solution I deleted A.Caslon.Pro font from the windows font folder after first putting it in windows/user/applications/adobe/font folder.

Importing Fonts
I downloaded a new font (blippo.tff) and wanted to use it in photoshop. I am running Mac OS 10.2.8 I tried putting the font in the library's fonts folder, however it did not show up in PS when the application was opened. I then went to application support, and to adobe's fonts folder, and added it. Once again I reopened PS and it did not show up. I also tried this in the users's library's font folder without it working again. I've researched for ages on google and can't find anything that explains why it won't open in Photoshop. This is the first time I have tried to add a font. In the fonts folder in my library I also noticed many other fonts on my computer that PS did not display.

Jagged Fonts
i have a a problem i'm hoping someone can help me with. i've been using photoshop for awhile now and have had it installed on my computer for at least 3 years without problems. however, just the other day i've started having a problem with my fonts. whenever i use text, the edges of the text have a jagged appearance. they have a very pixilated look to them instead of smooth lines. i havent been doing anything differently nor have i changed any settings. this is happening with all of the fonts. anyone have any idea what's going on and what i can do?

Uninstalling Fonts
I've got a bunch of fonts that came on the machine, that I don't want on the machine...I never knew what 'system fonts' were required and obviously I'll need to keep these in the system but I want the rest out. I have my own adobe font library ( open type ) that I pick and choose from using 'font fitting room.

Using Downloaded Fonts
I downloaded a font off the web and put it in my C:/WINNT/Fonts folder. The font appears in my list of fonts in Photoshop but when I type I can't see anything. However what I type is stored as the name of the text layer, so it knows I've typed something in, I just can't see it.

Using Images As Fonts
I'm a photographer and designer and for our latest project the client wants us to use an image of their sign (the kind with the black letter that mount to the white background, Example: Gas price signs).... Over time we're going to need to change things on the sign... For us to make 50 or so changes over the coming months would not be possible--it would require HOURS and HOURS of returning to the sign, shooting, etc. Placing text (font) over the blank white sign to simulate the letters in not an option for this project. My idea was to have them put all the letters of the alphabet up on the board and to shoot a picture of it. Then using the marquee tool, cut each letter out and when the time comes use the letter to assemble the words we want it to say. However, with all the changes we'll need to do, this method is still WAYYY too slow. Using other software other than photoshop (since I don't think it can do this) can I create a font set using the images that I cut out from the picture. So that I'll cut the A off the background and use it in the font as the letter A?? This way, I could start a new layer, click on the image font and type away and it would assemble the characters perfectly.

Too Many Fonts For Photoshop 7.01?
Photoshp Font...After adding some new fonts, my font lists ends with fonts in the letter M. I can't access any Fonts from N through Z. I CAN access my full font list in Illustrator, Flash. Word and other applications. I trashed Photoshop this morning and reinstalled. Still, my font list only displays fonts beginning with letters A through M. I have a job that requires Palatino. Any advice? OR can you forward to anyone who might know? I have been using Photoshop for about 7 years and this never happened. I'm still running Panther and Photoshop 7.01. I even reinstalled Photoshop and it didn't help. Am ready to upgrade to CS but want to get this worked out first and have a job due this week requiring fonts in the N-Z zone.
