i've created a logo for my company but I'm trying to sharpen it up quit a bit for the web and also for printing.
I've tried increasing the dpi up to 600.

i don't know if PSG covers this, but how can i print the quality of what i see in on my screen. (actually this is my moms prob.) i only do the photo retouching for her. the prints doesn't match the qualty on screen. on screen, it looks better.

Printing Quality Is Horrible
I created a PDF from a webpage. Afterwards, I needed to crop and combines various parts of pages using photoshop. Some of the pages come out of the stadard margins. When I print nothing is cut off and the font looks exactly the same size but the text is extrememly fuzzy.

Commercial Printing Quality
I have created artwork in Photoshop and my dpi was set at 72 dpi for web display. Now I would like to print these but at 300dpi. If I change the dpi it reduces the physical size of my original image and I am afraid that the final print quality will be compromised. How can I be sure that my original image quality will be preserved? Also my original physical document size ranges anywhere from 7-8 inches wide to 8-10 inches high.

Printing High Quality
I'm trying to prepare an advertising piece and I'm trying to print out a mockup from my HP color laser jet. My question is, how can I get the printout to appear as it does on the computer screen, whenever I print it out now the resolution is really low and fuzzy. I want it (it least the text and other computer generated material like boxes, e.g. anything but pictures) to appear very sharp.

Turning A Low Quality Picture Into High Quality?
I'm pretty new to photoshop, and I've started on a personal project. I want to basically take a video still from a music video and turn it into a poster. Sadly i can not find a good quality version of the video as it is older and not super famous, (kyuss-one inch man). So i found an online video that is better then youtube but not great, and i captured it through the vista snipping tool (screen capture). Basically I want to take this low quality picture, and turn it into a good quality poster (not huge). What techniques and things must I do? I'll probably have to find a printer near here and require a specific dpi as well.

Tile Printing With High Resolution Printing?
i have an image that is 28' wide by 60' high. i have to tile print it, but i have to print it out on film (see thru acetate). it has to be able to print at 1400 dpi. i know how to print at 1400 dpi on adobe photoshop, but i dont know how to tile print on that program. i have the image now in illusrtator, because it lets me tile, but i cant get it to print out for film (1400 dpi). im using a epson 1280 printer. i really need to be able to tile print this in high resolution on film. anyone know what i can do??

Photo Printing - Not Printing To Border
i've tried both borderless and non, I've also realigned by cartridges and updated drivers and program. When I'm printing with Photoshop CS, didn't do it on 6.0, it's not printing properly at all. It's not printing to the edges of the paper (4x6) and the space it's leaving on all sides isn't even. If I choose borderless it's even worse and if I print a larger picture on 8.5 x 11 and pick center, it's not even close, I'm talking inches off.

Gif Quality
I just finished a gif signature (I can't find anywhere to host the 2.16mb gif though.) The two video clips within the sig work fine, and look alright, however, the surrounding images are not exactly the greatest quality. Is there any possible way to keep these images as their former jpeg quality?

Low Quality
When I'm making gif images in photoshop/imageready, the quality is really bad.. The file isnt over 1 MB.. Before I made a gif that was over 6 MB without any quality loss.. how do I fix this?

Bad Text Quality?
I was working at a res. of 300 and when i scaled it to full size (res. of 72) the text prints out pixelated? Its not to bad from 2 feet away but when your up within a foot you can see the square pixels. However on the screen the text looks crisp until you zoom in 200%.

GIF High Quality
how they are getting this high of quality out of a GIF? I thought GIF was limited to 256 colors? The gradients and shadowing look great for this file type, and it is 125KB.

Image Quality
I'm using a Coolpix 8800 and I am increasingly disatisfied with the results. Very few of the images that I take with this camera appear to me to be properly in focus. They seem to have a sort of soft focus effect. This sort of chimes with a review I read recently in a magazine which gave it very poor ratings for the autofocus. I am also not sure if I am expecting too much from it? Many images seem fine when viewed as fitted to screen or print size (viewing on LCD montior 1280/1024 screen resolution) but it's when viewing actual pixels that what I think is the poor results of autofocus are shown. Is something like screen resolution introducing an effect here that is illusory? I'm shooting tif files and editing in CS2.

Incress The Quality Of A Jpg?
I am resizeing and optamizing my .jpg pics. I would like to know the best way to get a clear quality pic. I was taugh to do - sharpen (unshapern mask option- is this the best option to use?) then use levels, and finally adjust brighness and contrast. Is there a better way, and is there anyway to reduce the blur in a .jpg if there is some motion in the shot?

Print Quality From CS3 To A Non-PS B/w...
I open an image in Photoshop CS3 and do a file / print to my HP laserjet 1300 black an white printer. The image prints out with a halftone pattern with little dots visible all over the place. If I place the same image without any changes into Illustrator and do a file / print form there, the image comes out looking like a black and white photograph with none of the dots / halftone pattern of the photoshop image. I want it to look like a photograph. I do not want the halftone / dots. Maybe just some photoshop setting that I need in order to print nice looking images from Photoshop CS3 to this printer rather than having to get Illustrator involved?

Color Quality Malfunction
Whenever I launch Photoshop CS3 the monitor screen blanks for a couple of seconds while Photoshop (or something else) changes my desktop display color quality setting from 32 bits to 8 bits. I then have to change it back to 32 bits before continuing. Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix?

Color Quality Loss
Whenever I try to save a picture (see guitar picture on website) to my hardisk, and open it in photoshop, the color quality substancially degrades. the black guitar from the website seems to turn to brownish black. how come? but when i open w/o using photoshop (within windows only), the color seems fine. just like the original from the website ....

Losing Image Quality In CS3
I go to edit some images I have. What I'm doing is copying an image from a chemistry program I use into MS word. The image comes out fine. However, a problem arises when I cut this image from word and paste it into photoshop and edit it; upon moving the image back into word it becomes highly pixelated and of low quality. I'm not sure what is going on here, it looks nothing like the original when I print it out in my word document.

Enlarge Image With Same Quality
I'm Trying to make a Headshot. Using my (Epson Perfection 1260)Scanner, I scanned a Back and White(4"x6") Sharp Image Photo at (1200 dpi) and enlarged it to(7"x 9"). Using PhotoShop I Sharpend the Image. I printed at (1440 dpi) using Glossy Photo Paper with my "Epson Stylus Photo 750" Printer. The Image has turned out Grainy and not very clear as the original although it did manage to pickup up detail like lint on the photograph LOL. I tried enlarging the image in PS and increased the amount of Pixels, instead of during the scanning process but that resulted in poorer quality image. The Photos that remain the same size as the original turn out excellent photo quality images. How do I enlarge a photo from a smaller image and maintain almost the same quality as the original? It seems I am losing resolution somewhere along the way.

JPEG Quality VS Size
I'm in the process of cropping 5000 family pictures. They were all scanned on a flatbed with about 4 pictures per scan. I've realized that the cropped pictures are much larger in size than their original counterparts. For example 45 of the original scans are 27MB in size, while those same pictures cropped (157 of them) are 156MB in size. My action automatically saves the images at the maximum JPEG quality of 12. I'm wondering what the lowest i can lower the quality to is, while preserving the original scan quality of 300DPI?

I did something with photo , but when I put it on web site - it doesn't have the same quality . it has gray circles in it . High Quality Transparent GIF
I have an image with a transparent background and I want to save it as a GIF. Currently I do it as a PNG and it looks great, but older browsers don't support transparent PNG so I am tyring to make it a GIF. Jpeg Saving Quality
I am trying to save a psd picture 125x500 picture. It is a simple gradient with nothing else in the picture. The psd saves with good quality. As soon as I save for web or even save as a jpeg or gif the quality is junky. Even with the jpeg file at maximum and not optiized there are chunky vertical lines. How can I fix this? The psd file is like 138k, but I can't save it more than 12k as a jpeg or gif.

Cropping And Keeping Quality
I have a large number of sporting photos (both RAW and JPG versions) that need to be cropped to zoom in on player and eventually saved as JPEGs on CD, that can later be printed as 8 X10's by player parents. When I crop the jpeg (setting 8 X 10 and resolution not filled in) I get a resolution around 150 , too low for printing. I know if I fill in resolution too , PS will use Resample Image and but I will get a somewhat degraded picture at 8 X 10. Is there a way to use the RAW version of the photos, (since they are not compressed), be able to crop and still save at a printable resolution, without using Resample.

Enlarging A Photo For Web Quality?
I have an image that is (1920 x 1273)px at 300dpi. The final image will need to be cropped down to (175 x 190)px at 72dpi. When I crop it and lower the dpi it gets very small. Too small for how I would like to use it. I would like for the individual to be the focal point of the image and be large enough for easy viewing int the (175 x 190)px image size. So I was thinking I could enlarge the image starting at its original quality, especially since it is at 300dpi and then crop it and lower the dpi. But that does not seem to deliver a larger size image either.

High Quality .Gif Animations?
expierence with PS, but am having a hard time making an animation sig. file, that is high quality. First is it simpy impossible? Below is an example of what it looks like in .gif form. It looks amazing under the original tab, but when I save it or go to the optomize tab its looks retarded. I'm adding a high-rez cut out of a character from a game I play. The only animation I want the high-rez cut out to do is fade out. When I add the cut-out to the animation, it screws all the other images as well, includeing simple lightnigh bolts drawn in. I'll post two examples, one with out the character in, and one with it in. Pay attention to how even things that were fine before, get messed up. Do I need to make my cut-outs a .gif file before even putting them in, does that matter? I'm using Adobe ImageReady 7.0. My optomized settings are: Gif, Selective, 256Colors, No Dither, everything else off or 0. Do I have to save it optomized, file size isnt a big deal. Files: (Added .2 delay so its easier to see , lightningbad.gif is with the cut out/bad quality, lightninggood.gif is without cut out/good quality)

Poor Animation Quality
animations after being saved in Imageready result in poorer qulity than usual even though it's set to 256 colors. The settings in my optomize pallet are gif, lossy:0, custom, colors:256, diffusion, dither:100%. Usually the default settings are jpeg high but I can't save as a gif with those settings where I'm sure I could before today.

Not To Sacrifice Image Quality
I’ve been using PS6 for a while now and I’ve always struggled with trying not to sacrifice image quality with reasonable file sizes. I normally use a image size default setting of 800x600 with a resolution of 300 pixels/inch for most of my work. But when saving for the web or using Image Ready to slice up more complex images I always have to bring the quality of the image down to about 25-35 to get some reasonable file sizes. With this I get a lot of fuzzy images. My question should I be doing something different from the start regarding my image size and resolution. Are there any other setting I should consider when optimizing the final image.
