Type Tool :: All Uppercase Letters
I am using Photoshop CS and when using the type tool all of my letters are using uppercase letters. Does anyone know how I could use uppercase and lower case? I know it is pretty simple, but I just haven’t figured it out yet.

UPPERCASE Text
When entering text in Photoshop 7 [on Windows XP Pro] I cannot get the text to be input in lowercase. All letters are always UPPERCASE no matter whether I type with the caps lock on or off. Is this normal behaviour? I've tried to find a setting to check or uncheck for this, but cannot.

Type Tool Won't Type Anything...
the type tool won't let me insert any type whatsoever in JPG or PSD files. I click the type tool and then click somewhere on the image and all it gives me is a dot but no flashing cursor. As I said, resetting my prefs/settings while starting up Photoshop did not help. Another weird thing it does is that when I go to Canvas Size for a medium sized image, it says that the width is 588 inches and the height is 288 inches.

i used the word tool to type.. and then i saved my design in .psd format. Sometimes when i open that .psd file, i couldn't edit the word that i typed. y is that so? anywhere i go wrong?

Type Tool?
I hit 'F' twice to go 'Fullscreen'... then I hit 'Tab' to clear the palettes. From this point I decide to edit some text and hit the 'T' key to bring up the type tool..... with me so far? I edit the text.... and then what??... how do I 'release' the type tool and allow others to be chosen? there's no palettes to click because I've cleared them all.... All I have is the keyboard to tap on. Currently I'm 'releasing' the type tool, by hitting 'Escape' ..... but then I lose all the new text I've produced....

I am having a very weird thing going on in Photoshop CS. Every time I turn on the type tool (horizontal) and try to use it, it won't type any letters, and instead when I strike the letter keys on my keyboard, it activates other tools based on their keyboard shortcut letters (such as L for lasso). I have tried resetting system defaults and still have this problem. Another weird thing that happens is that when I try to type letters, the canvas turns pink, and the letters turn white (this might be connected to the keyboard shortcut for flood fill)

Using Type Tool
I am trying to make a watermark: © date and my name on the next line. I manage to do the 1st line ok, but pressing 'return' to do the second line - does nothing - or rather my cursor vanishes and the text box boundary is enormous. I have CS3 and am on a Mac.

Type Tool Won't Go To Next Line -...
when i use type tool, i can generate letters, but when i press the enter button to start a new line, then it starts printing backwards. and i cannot place cursor on next line. what are the leading, baseline, tracking and kerning supposed to be set at for normal display.

Type Tool...using A Notebook Pc.
Normally hitting the enter key (not the one on the number pad) while using the type tool would cause a line break. On my notebook it this doesn't happen. It basically does what it would do if you were to hit the enter key on the number pad on a regular desktop pc.

Type Tool Isn't Working
I have photoshop 5.5 and all of suddent the Type Tool stopped working. The font size is so small (I can only see a DOT where the insertion key is) regardless the font size. I even put font size to 200 points. It still gives me a little dot in the input box where I can type the text. My photoshop was working for a while. Now it started acting weird. Do I need to reinstall Photoshop or I need a new computer? I am running PII 400 with 128 Ram. Windows XP Pro.

Photoshop CS4 (Vista X64) Type Tool...
I'm running Photoshop Extended on Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 x64. I can start Adobe just fine, make documents, and such. The crash happens any time I go to make some text. I am able to start the text tool and then it will crash the second I click to start typing. I googled on this issue and found that it is likely a font in my library causing the issue, but how do you find the font that is causing the trouble? Code:

Cant Use The Type Tool Function Of Photoshop
Im using Photoshop CS3, every time when i try to use the Type Tool, it takes very long to load the mouse cursor to change into the big 'I', and then when i try to use it, as in i click on the page after the cursor changed into 'I', so i can type. Photoshop just freezes, and i have to terminate the program. I don't know what is wrong with this program. It wasn't like this when i first used it. But now its like a annoying child that does the opposite of what i want.

Carriage Return With Type Tool
I need to enter text using the Type Tool and include carriage returns (I want to choose where to break the line, as opposed to having the program make that decision). At this point I am entering each line as a separate layer. Is there some way to enter my own carriage returns without creating a separate layer for each line? I am using Photoshop 9 on a PC.

Type/Text Tool - Soft Hyphens
I am dealing with text in some non-unicode encodings. The text includes the soft-hyphen character (0xAD) - which under ISO 8559-1 encoding is rendered as a hyphen. When I paste this text into photoshop, the soft-hyphen disappears. The soft-hyphen is still there (if I copy the text and paste it back into notepad it is visible, also it shows up in the text layer's name) but it is not being rendered. Now in Photoshop 7 the soft-hyphen renders as expected so I believe this is something caused by Photoshop's transition to Unicode in later versions (I see this 'problem' in Photoshop CS3 and CS4 - don't have CS or CS2 to test). * Is it possible to change the type tool's behavior to the older version - i.e. to show soft-hyphen? * Would anyone know if CS/CS2 behave like this as well? I need soft-hyphen to be rendered because I am working with an old/legacy font which 'renders' soft-hyphen as a different glyph.

Type Tool :: Enter Key Doesn't Work Properly
I have Photoshop CS3. When i work in the Type Tool the Enter key doesn't work properly instead of going to the next sentense it closes the Type Tool just like you are slecting the background layer. Also the sentenses are to close to each other when i paste a text in the Type Tool the sentenses run throw each other so you can hardly read the text.

Large Font Size = Type Tool Is Unavailable
Ok first off all I have not had the chance to play with or learn much about photoshop. I am an IT guy that has to support users that use photoshop. With that I launch in into my issue. I have a user that is having a tool type + font size error that crashes his photoshop every time he tries to change the font size to large. He posted the following in our issues tracking system; ?For some reason when I use my type tool at a large font size it tells me the type tool is unavailable... if I try to use the tool again it shuts Photoshop shuts down.?

Using "Horizontal Type Tool" ( CS2 )
while using my Photoshop CS2.. I decided to put som Text into a picture I had been editing. I used the "Type tool", didn't do any strange settings at all, and afterwords. When I was going to type in some other pictures I couldn't see the text I was typing! I can see on the textlayer that comes up that the typing is there. But it doesn't show up on the picture :S I have a normal size on the lettering, good color (so you don't think that I'm writing with white on white)

Overlapping Letters?

Blurry Letters
I designed my wedding invitations using photoshop CS3. They came out great. However, when I want to print them the lettering comes out blurry. And if I save as a PDF the lettering comes out really crisp but, some of the letters lose their color ....

Lowercase Hex Letters
I have been using CS2, and when I use the color picker to choose a color, the hex number is in lowercase. i.e # 00ccff, but in CS and 7 if you were to choose a color everything would be in caps. i.e. # 00CCFF,

Arabic Letters
I am working on this, and I typed this arabic word in photoshop, normally with other fonts i have no problem typing, I don't normally have this problem with any other fonts, but with this one, everytime I try and type, The one on top is normal, the one on bottom I tried messing with the horizontal spacing but it just shows a white space where they are supposed to connect. White Letters In Red Background
I am fairly new to Photoshop and am using CS2. When I use a web header with white letters on a red background, it appears that the red has bled into the white letters. It doesn't make any difference in I save the file as a gif or jpeg. This takes place even when the file is saved at 100% quality.

Earthquake Animates Into Letters
If you have read my previous topic on my 'jzrith' account, then you may all know that I'm just starting out as an amateur and unprofessional graphic designer. However, I've met a band who is looking for a banner for their site, and they don't have much money, so in exchange for money, I asked for publicity and some shout outs from them when they get the chance to give some away. They're looking for a banner that probably most people pay for it to do. They want a banner that has the size of a sig. They want their band picture in the background, and the animation of a blue guitar smashing into something, and that smashing ripples a quake, and that quake ripples letters from something and it turns into the letters 'one last trip'. Their request was very vague, and my photoshop is limited. However, I took the request upon thinking some one here will help me generate this banner for the band. It will give me good publicity for my skills, but I also need help in making this. What I'm really thinking hard of doing is the smashing of the blue guitar and that generates a 'quake' and the quake smashes into something that turns into the band's name's letters. I have no idea on how to do it because I have only some experience in Adobe Imageready. I'm not even sure if I need Imageready for this, but Macromedia Flash!

How To Remove Letters Pasted Over A Photo
Making early steps in Photoshop, my little sister put a lettering over a photo, worked with filters,etc, and then properly flattened image and saved it as jpg. All looks nice but she did it on the original instead of working with a copy . As a result , the photo, which is important for the family archive, now has this lettering all over and we don't know how to clean it up. The letters are semi transparent with no sharp edges, the photo underneath is partly visible. I 've tried to select letters and do something with filters, but the parts of the photo visible under the letters, are with different texture and colours and and I've achieved nothing - the letters are almost impossible to select properly. Even when selected more or less properly and treated with filters/layer transparency/etc they are still clearly visible, only their colour and saturation changes... Tried everything within my limited Photoshop skills incl, trying to find any History palette which to use to reverse all lettering done over the photo but History was not saved. It is a digital photo,so, there is no film to scan and have a clean original... Could someone with Photoshop skills better than mine, please, tell me how to remove this text from the photo - it is an important part of our family photo archive and I'm desperate to restore it to the original condition. How To Print White Letters On A Transparent Background?
I'm starting off with a transparent BG, I'm saving the file as a png, and I'm writing in only #FFFFFF white with a drop shadow. I can see it on preview, but when I use color paper, the letters turn out transparent with the slight outline provided by the drop shadow. I can get any other color I want, but why isn't white showing up and how can I generate it?

PSE Type...
