Why Do I Get 'Not Enough RAM' Error...
School computer: windows xp, 1GB ram, Photoshop 6.0
My computer: windows xp, 760MB ram, Photoshop CS3/CS4
I work on a project at school, bring it home to finish, and then bring it back to school, the school computer shows "not enought ram" when i try to open it. All computers at school shows that message. It seems to me that whenever i work on the PDF at home, the school computer cannot open it anymore.

I'm running Photoshop Elements 5.0. Everything was working fine til this mornin. I've had the program for about a year now. When I tried to open it this morning I got this error message that popped up. It says: Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable. I've tried repairing the program. That didn't work. Restarted my computer. That didn't work. Uninstalled the program and tried opening it again. That didn't work. I'm at a loss! I really need to get into my program b/c my work is there. I tried opening some of my files (they are located in my Pictures folder) and they pop up with the same message.

Error 1603. A Fatal Error Occurred During Installation

I have just installed Photoshop CS2 on my new win VISTA HOME machine. There was no problems, I got a notification of a large update from ADOBE, so I accpeted, shut down Photoshop, installed updates and then when I re-boot my machine and opened up Photoshop again, I got this error message. I'm trying to create a digital layout in PSCS version 8.0, and when I go to save the psd file (very early stages of the creation...its not very large yet) I get an error that says "Unable to save (file name) because of a disc error". I've never seen this before and am trying not to panic, but I'm on a deadline! LOL And am running behind as usual! I am using an older mac, and I'm pretty dang maxed out on Gb...gotta clean up some files, but having a hard time finding a free dup file finder for macs...so I'm procrastinating, basically. Could the fact that I've got very little Gb available left have something to do with this?

Error :: File Will Not Open Due To A Program Error
I have been re-saving many of my PSD files using CS3 image prosesssor with compatibility mode turned off. They have simply been saved again as PSD files into a different folder - no changes to the original PSD files. This has worked well and reduced file sizes by up to 50% (I had compatibility mode turned on previously). of the 60 files I have processed, 3 will no longer open , I get a message that says "file will not open due to a program error." these files have only ever been used in CS3. , they are quite large from just under 1GB to 1.5GB, however other similar large files have processed successfully. I have re-tried without success. I still have the original files so no data loss is involved.

PS CS4 Error
I am having some problems opening any photo format in Photoshop CS4. They all look like the linked picture at 100% or less. If I zoom in to 200% the photo looks fine. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop. And I know the question will come up, Yes I can open these files in any other software, including Bridge, Lightroom, Windows Live Photo gallery, etc, etc. This photo is just a screen shot of what it looks like for me at anything 100% or less.

ICC Profile Error?
My Image Ready still works, but something's messed up with my photoshop. . .I get a message saying "Could not initialize Photoshop because the ICC profile is invalid." I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I still get that message.

7.0 Locked Error
I try to open my Photoshop 7.0 I get two error messages. I don't understand why I am getting these messages, or how to fix them. The error messages appear at startup during the initializing of the Photoshop 7.0, these messages state: Error Message 1: Can not find workspace folder. Error Message 2: Could not initialize Photoshop because the file is locked. Use the Properties command in Windows Explorer to unlock the file. There is no Properties command under Windows Explorer, there is one under Photoshop 7.0, but nowhere does it say "unlock file". I have seen a similar problem for the CS2 in the FAQ section, so I tried to use that fix, but it did not work. I have uninstalled & reinstalled, cleared cache, de-fragged, and unhidden the files ...

Saving Error

Error :: BAD_POOL_CALLER
As soon as the disk spins up and tries to initiate autoplay.exe. It's only this disk. Every other disk I try works fine. The error I get is: BAD_POOL_CALLER STOP: 0x000000C2 (0x00000007, 0x00000CD4, 0x04030601, 0xE3A6F310) Which is indicative of a driver or memory problem. I updated drivers and firmware without any improvement. Again, it's only the CS4 upgrade disk that causes the crash.

Ram Error Message
I am running PS CS4 Win Vista.I have 3G RAM and have designated plenty of available space for scratch disks(298G on C:, 66G on J: and 231G on M:, the latter two being external HDs). When I attempt to use some of the advanced features of CS 4, especially Content Aware Scaling, I get the insufficient RAM message every time without fail. MY HD is regularly defragmented and I have purged, lowered the History states allowed, and cleaned out all temp files from IE. Any deas how I can avoid the RAM message and use the features in CS4?

Error :: Not Enough Memory
when I am converting RAW images via CS3 - ACR, I get the message "Not Enough Memory" This happens when I try to convert more than 25 or so images during one Photoshop session. If I close down Photoshop and then reopen the program I can usually convert another 25 or so images before getting the message again. When I used CS2, I would be able to convert 100 or so RAW images with no problems. I am not sure what to do. My system is a Dell XPS with an Intel Core 2 Quad, with 4GB of ram.

Error With An Action
I have created an action to put a little icon in the bottom left corner of any image and size and orientation. Works fine on a single image. When i try to batch it through Bridge to do several images it fails. Any ideas why or how I can go about troubleshooting this problem? I have tried removing actions withing the script (action) but then other weird stuff happens. Why would it work on a single image, or any single image for that matter but not when using it in a batch.

CS3 Update Error
I recently had to do a complete reinstall of my PC and prior to doing so used the Deactivate function. Following the reinstall of my system I installed CS3 once again from the CD and the install went without problems. Of course I now had the original version (10) installed and so used the update facility from within CS3. Following this I was presented with an error message advising that there was a problem installing 10.0.1 and Camera Raw. Despite running the installer again via the 'Try Again' button the problem persisted and so I pressed Cancel. Following this I went to the Adobe site and downloaded the 10.0.1 update outside of CS3 and the install/update went without any problems. I also did this with Camera Raw. Now whenever CS3 starts up I get the splash screen indicating version 10.0.1 and from within CS3 (Help - about plug-ins) I see that Camera Raw 4.3.1 is installed. However, a few moments ago the installer once again appeared indicating that version 10.0.1 was ready to be installed and so just to get rid of the pop up I clicked 'Install'. Of course I received back could not install message and I suspect that this is going to pop it's ugly head up on future ocassions as well. Does anyone know where the fault/error lies and how I stop this pop up advising me that 10.0.1 is ready to be installed when it seems that it already is.

Error 147:20 - Adobe
I recently received this error message after downloading the standard Adobe CS4 for windows trail from here at adobe.com. The installation completes and after launching CS4 I receive this message. "This product has has encountered a problem which requires that you restart your computer before it can be launched. If you continue to see this message after restarting your computer, please contact either your IT adminastrator or Adobe technical support for help, and mention this error code shown at the bottom of this screen. Error: 147:20 I'm unsure of what the root of this error exactly is, I tried looking through forums, calling adobe, and even searching the internets but I cannot find any help whatsoever. I restarted my computer various times, uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing... In addition, the download came with other programs such as "Adobe Media Encoder CS4" and "Adobe Extension Manager CS4" but when I launch those as well it gives me the same exact error message as stated above.

Error In CS4 RAM Detection?
I'm comparing the memory settings of my new installation of CS4 with my old CS2, and note the following discrepancy (under Edit -> Preferences -> Memory/Performance): Available RAM CS4 2569 MB CS2 2698 MB CS4 is thus missing 129 MB of available RAM. these values are indicators of available addressable memory space only, and have nothing to do with the RAM actually free or in use by Photoshop at that time. In that case, they should be the same for both CS4 and CS2, but they are not. For those of you with both CS4 and any prior version of Photoshop still installed, do you see similar discrepancies?

Scratchremoval.dll Error
When I start PS CS3 extended I am suddenly getting an error message: "Thsi application has failed to start because scratchremoval.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem". The title bar of the message is "Photoshop.exe - unable to locate component" Anyone have any idea why I would be getting this error message? CS3 Program Error
I'm using cs3 on a WinXP computer and over the last few days I'm all of a sudden getting a pop-up box stating that a (some tool) could not be used because of a program error. Cs3 Artifact Error
first my system is BenQ r55: core2duo t5500, 2gb RAM, 100Gb HD, Geforce 7400go. The main problem coming up when i move an object/text/smart object or make a new layer or make a fill in a selection , after doing those activity there will be a random dot(artifact) in a working screen maybe about 1px * 1px with a random color too. I've been reinstalling for a several time, and clean it with wincs3 clean, but is not solve the problem. I've been trying to remove or switch a ram module one into another and it give the same result. Critical Error During PS CS4...
I have just purchased the download version of Photoshop CS4, but unfortunately it won't install... After having unpacked to the default location (desktop) and starting setup.exe, the "Adobe Photoshop CS4 Installer: Initializing" dialog appears. When it's just about 90% finished, the "Adobe Photoshop CS4 Install-Loading Setup" screen appears along with the message "Critical errors were found in setup Please see the Setup log file for details" This window is titled "Windows Internet Explorer" It does not say where to find the log file or what its exact filename is. Windows XP SP3 English version, Intel Core Duo 6600, 2Gb RAM, Ati Radeon X1950XTX. I've had trials of Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom 2.1 on this system in the past. These have been uninstalled. I've also ran the CS3Clean.exe script.

CS2 Registry Error
Cleaning ou tmy registry recently, I discovered that photoshop is leaving entries in the registry for every file I edit. These are "recent" file entires, but instead of deleting any more than ten, it is keeping them all!!! It does it every time you edit the file too. This means that I cleared out some 5000 registry entries that photoshop had failed to remove. Thing is that because they come under the type "file path problems", not all registry editors will even see them.

b OS : Vista 32bit sp1 b Photoshop Version : CS4 In CS3 version, the program worked well after the addition of the font in Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder. But in CS4, no fonts folder exists in Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/ folder. So I created fonts folder and added the fonts, and then I run photoshop. After all, The program did not work with error I want to know how to recognize the fonts without the procedure(the installation of fonts) as CS3 version.

CS2 Scanning- Error With...
I have an Epson Perfection 4180 scanner which has worked for years. I moved, plug everything back in, the scanner works one time, and from then on, I get this error: "Could not complete the Import command because of an error with acquisition module interface." I've searched around, and seen others with this problem, but, no real solution. From what I've read, it's a Photoshop issue. I've downloaded the TWAIN drivers and re-installed the scanner, and deleted Photoshop's preferences file. The scanner does work through the Windows Scanner Wizard. I've turned off the Windows Image Acquisition thing in the control panel, and then turned it back on.

CS4 Brush Error
When I use the brush tool, the brush circle disappears when I enlarge it past 70px. The edges of the circle begin to disappear as I enlarge it until the whole brush is invisible and I have no idea where I am painting with it and where the edges are. The tool still works, I just can't see what I'm doing. I have tried resetting my tool presets and that did not work. Also, I am not accidentally hitting the caps lock key for it to go to the crosshatch.

CS2 Activation Error
It came in the retail box and the CD still had the seal on it. It looked very legit (not that it always means anything, I guess), but when I try to install it I get the message that an activation error was encountered. Is this error a sign that I may have gotten bogus software? Is there a way I can verify if I have a legit copy or not?

Modal Error
I'm developing an automation project using Photoshop The project will open several files, do some resizing and change of formats, save the new files and presto. The trouble is that sometimes Photoshop has problems opening the source files (i.e. the original images). When this happens the Photoshop opens a modal error dialog and gets stuck there. This program runs unattended and I NEED to be able to detect (or even prevents) this dialog to display in order to not halt the program. This program needs to handle 1000+ images daily and every time one image gets stuck is a royal pain in the butt... is there any way to avoid this?

Not Enough Memory (RAM) Error Msg
I have given 80% (or 1.270 Gigs) of RAM to PS CS3 Extended. Everything works well until I use the new "Quick Selection Tool (W)." Whenever I use it, I get the message, "Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM)." The "Magic Wand" and all the other tools work great. This happens regardless of what else is happening on the computer. Usually only PS and PS Bridge are the only apps open. And it doesn't matter how many images are open. I'm running Windows XP.
