Printing Changes Colors?
I'm doing a graphic for a box package in Illustrator. The background color is the #333333, with big words in grey using #666666. When I brought the image to a print shop to test it, the colors turned out kinda greyish green. The print file is in CMYK. Any ideas why this happened? and how do I fix it?

Printing Wrong Colors In CS4
After changing picture to black and white or any other color change the picture will print some of the original colors especially greens and tans. This occurs when changing a jpg file or using layers. It did not happen in CS2 using the same Epson printer and the same printer settings. I am using Vista OS.

Printing :: Print Appears Pinkish An No Normal Colors
I bought a new computer and got Photoshop Elements 2.0 with it. Great program. My problem is a friend said that Photoshop 6.0 is better. I asked to try this program . I loaded his program on my machine and started to print. All of a sudden my prints appear to be pinkish color and no normal colors. I looked on the web for an answer. Tile Printing With High Resolution Printing?
i have an image that is 28' wide by 60' high. i have to tile print it, but i have to print it out on film (see thru acetate). it has to be able to print at 1400 dpi. i know how to print at 1400 dpi on adobe photoshop, but i dont know how to tile print on that program. i have the image now in illusrtator, because it lets me tile, but i cant get it to print out for film (1400 dpi). im using a epson 1280 printer. i really need to be able to tile print this in high resolution on film. anyone know what i can do??

PS Colors And .bmp Colors Dont Match
The colors of pictures is much darker when working in photoshop than when I open it normally. And vice versa, I work on images inside photoshop, and I get the colors I want, but once I save it to bmp or jpg or anything else, all the colors are much lighter. i'm using photoshop 7.

Photo Printing - Not Printing To Border
i've tried both borderless and non, I've also realigned by cartridges and updated drivers and program. When I'm printing with Photoshop CS, didn't do it on 6.0, it's not printing properly at all. It's not printing to the edges of the paper (4x6) and the space it's leaving on all sides isn't even. If I choose borderless it's even worse and if I print a larger picture on 8.5 x 11 and pick center, it's not even close, I'm talking inches off.

Colors In PS Seem To Be Better Than In BMP?
I'm working on a design for a web. It's quite colorful with bright colors. In Photoshop it looks exactly the way I want it to look, but when I export it as JPG, PNG or even BMP then the colors seem to be a bit lesser bright... they don't look that lively anymore. What could be the problem? I understand that PNG and JPG may have some restrictions, but at least BMP should be able to reflect every pixel the way it is shown in Photoshop, isn't it?

Colors Are Off
My colors inside Photoshop are off. I'm using CS and when I create an image and select save for web, the colors that the preview shows are quite a bit lighter than the ones that am using inside the application. It does this for all images. I edit them in photoshop, save them in any format, and then open them outside of photoshop and they are brighter.

Colors Look Different
When I open a picture in Photoshop CS3 or Camera RAW for editing and then save that picture, and then open the saved picture in any program other than Photoshop, the colors and tints and saturation are very different. I am pretty sure this has to do with my color profile in Photoshop, but I've checked many online sources and my color settings seem to match up more or less with what's recommended. My camera is set to sRGB and Photoshop is set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1, and this is happening both with JPEGs and RAWs, from two different Canon cameras. Pictures look more natural when viewed in Photoshop than in other programs (I think), even before any editing...how could this be? The weird things is, when I go to Edit > Assign Profile and then select "Lighthouse (D65 G2.2 A34.29)" from the drop-down menu, the image in Photoshop now looks exactly like it does when I open the same image in an image viewing program. What does this mean? Also, when viewing my photos in Bridge CS3, the colors look like they do in Photoshop until I zoom in 100% and the photo finishes loading the actual pixels, at which point the colors dramatically change. How can I edit pictures in Photoshop and Camera RAW when what I'm editing is not what's actually seen?

Getting Colors Right!
I am scanning watercolors and trying to get the printed colors mathing throughout the system. Does anyone have any advice on this as it's very frustrating to keep blindly changing the parameters and profiles hoping . . ? PMS Colors
I'm having trouble getting PMS colors in photoshop to print the same way as they print from Illustrator. Illustrator seems to be printing fine, but when i print the same PMS color from photoshop, it looks and prints very different. Also, when i bring in Illustrator files into Photoshop, the colors don't match. reds become very pink, etc. and rebuilding things in PMS colors doesn't seem to yield any better results.

Colors Are Off In
ihave just restored my computer and my photoshop is acting out. The whites are showing as cream and so on i have tried setting up my new Dell 20 inch monitor's color aspects in the properties of the video card that that seem to solve the problem but the resolution of the computer, and other things get messed up this way. video card is nvidia fx5200 128memory ps. photoshop tells me that the monitor calibration is defective and rerun your calibration. but i have no idea how to do so and the softwar doesnt come with anything like that.

Print Colors Different
Hello! I am using Photoshop CS4 and I have a Canon Pixma MP160 printer. I go through a company, GotPrint.com, to print all my brochures and business cards but it seems what I send them is never what actually prints out. I understand that LCD monitors show a different display, being RGB instead of CMYK?? but how do I match it close enough? I have been trying to print out my new brochure on my printer at home until I get it to print the colors I want - but it's a huge hassle & a major ink cost changing all the colors (mostly brown for some reason) to look good printed even though it looks terrible in photoshop. I've tried setting it in the print window to Photoshop Manages Color instead of printer. In the profile drop down I was told to select one with my printer name in it instead of working CMYK profile. But I have about 10 different ones and none of them say CMYK or anything special. Can anybody point me in the right direction to learn the best way to do this?

Washed Out Colors
I do a lot of digital art in PS. I noticed that when I convert my PSDs to JPGs, my colors get washed out (they get darker if the image is generally dark). I know that I lose quality during compression, but I've seen lots of JPGs that don't seem to suffer it as drastically. Is there some sort of setup that I can do before hand to make sure the colors in my PSD match that of my JPG more closely in the final result?

Output Colors
What settings do I have wrong that I see certain colours in PS, then either 'Save as', a jpg (for web use).. Or even 'Save for web'.. And when I compared the colours to PS, they are different? Usually more red/magenta in jpg format.

Vintage Colors
First time poster here. I have been trying hard to reproduce a vintage color effect, but I haven't received the results that I wanted. Any suggestions? Here are some of the photos that I've been using as a reference and trying to reproduce the effect: I've tried many different combinations of selective color black/black, adjusting the lower end red/blue in curves, and desaturations. I have come close but it's just not exactly the same. Any tips?

Grayscale With Some Colors?
I've seen this effect used in some adverts on TV, as well as some pictures online (I really cant remember where, but I'll try to describe it as well as possible). Let's say, for arguments sake, that they are advertising for an orange... a big fat juicy orange . So, you'd see this guy holding the orange. However, the photo is made in such a way that everything is actually in grayscale, except for the orange itself, which is bright orange. I have an idea that perhaps you select everything except the orange and then convert just that to grayscale, but surely there must be a quicker way if there are many of those objects? Perhaps you'd select a color range? I have absolutely no idea, those are just my guesses. Any ideas on how to they achieve that effect?

Changing Colors
I have a picture that I would like to change the color on. Is there a way to sellect all of a given color, say Pantone #150 +-10 points to Pantone 825 +-10 points automatically? I would like to use the eyedropper tool to pick the color on the picture as the starting color and in the color selection area for the ending color and have Photoshop handle the change for me. I have used Hue and Saturation as well as Color Balance but the results always look kind of cartoonish.

Channels And Colors
Why is it that in an RGB colored red rose, the red channel is very light in color and the blue and green channels are very dark (near black), even though there is relatively little blue are green in the colored (RGB composite) version of the vibrantly colored red rose? This seems to be counter intuitive. When I look into the red channel, I would expect to see dark density to reflect the dominance of the red channel and lightness in the blue and green channels to reflect their relative absence in a red rose.

Faded Colors
All of the colors when I use brushes always appearance very faded. It takes a couple of layers and 're-clicking' too get the dark color I'm looking for. I've tried re-installing and re-setting default's, but it hasn't seemed to work or I'm doing it wrong. I was wondering if there was a way I could change the default. This is for CS3 Beta BTW.

Matching Colors
i'm into photoshopping cars and i've got a rough idea on how to stitch bits and pieces of other cars together nicely, the problem is i still haven't a clue on how to match the colours of different cars to my target car (i.e. my car is blue but the bumper of another car is green, so how do i get that green to match my car's blue?) i just really want to know how to get this done cause previously i was using the luminance thinggy and found it to work for SOME colours but it didn't look good.

Colors Not Selecting Right
I want to alter a simple image from one color to another. The image is a gif image and I want to change it to color code #EF8216. Should be simple enough but when I type that in it gives me a color close to that but not that color (even though it says it is #EF8216). I have used CatchColor to test this and PhotoShop CS is not selecting the right color. I have tried using different ways of selecting the same color but none work. I need the color to match with part of my web site which is using #EF8216. When I use the bucket and save it, you can tell the diffence very easily with the naked eye. How can I get PhotoShop to select the color I want?

Bucket Colors
I have a problem while trying to fill a channel that i load from a layer. When i click bucket tool, the colors i choose are only shown in grayscale. Reducing Colors?
I've been working on some pictures that will be printed on T-shirts. The problem is that I've got alot of different color in the pictures which would result in a very expensive print. What I would want to be able to do is to reduce the colors in the pictures to only 4 specific colors (plus black and white). The colors must be very specific. for an example: "ff2600". To be totally clear: I need the ALL the different types of yellow into be transformed to just one type of yellow. So my question is am I able to do something like this in photoshop?

My Colors Are Dark...
I am in Photoshop, all the colors are darker and more saturated. but when I save the file, it gets all light and not how I wanted it. Just to let you know, I am running CS2. Much more full of color. This is what I wanted. I also might add that when I load pictures they are darker than when I open them out of photoshop. For some reason it just makes everything darker when in photoshop.

Brushes And Colors
Some reason everytime i try to use a brush the color is white, No matter what i try. The opacity and flow are both at 100%. Both the default and downloaded brushes are doing this. nfact the brushes act liek erasers. When i use them the next layer underneath becomes visible.

Intensifying Colors
Is there any way to modify colored areas of a photo without affecting everything else in the photo? For example, if there is a pale sunset and you want to enhance the colors, how do you do that without turning everything else a shade of pink? Selecting "Shadows", "Midtones" or "Highlights" in Color Balance does not really produce a satisfactory solution and using a lasso or marquee tool produces very obvious artificial divisions of color.

PSD File Using PMS Colors
I created a PSD file that will be used for making a sticker. I am using PMS colors, and the company printing the stickers said if I want a job to print in PMS colors I need to submit a PMS file. They don't accept CMYK or RGB files if there are PMS colors used. What do I choose under image > mode for this? I need to keep it as a layered file, and I notice that choosing index color requires me to flatten the image.
