Saving An Image Without A White Background
I created a logo in photoshop. It has no background. When I save the logo in another format for use in other programs it saves a square white background. This is bad when i want to paste the logo ontop of an image. How do i save the logo without the white background?

I have an image of a girl on a white background. I need to remove the white background perfectly, so that her image is on top of a teal one. I tried masking and using the magic wand tool and deleteing, but she has all this hair. Is there a quick way to make the background transparent, so that the white just disapears?

Selecting Only The Image On A White Background
I have a gif with a image and my ultimate goal is to save the image only, change the color of this image and put it on a background image in a repeated pattern. I've been looking at the tile tutorials for the pattern, but the image comes out horribly distorted and without space in between. The background itself is a gradient color (another 2 hour adventure) so I need the image without any background.

Centering Image On White Background
I am using photoshop elements. I would like to scan in a book cover, and make it appear on a white background and center the picture there. Is this done by some layer? How do I do this? I cannot seem to upload the images to show as an example, but if anyone wishes. I have placed a link to a gallery in imageShack. Saving Extracted Image With Transparent Background
Is it possible to save an extracted image as a JPEG file with transparent background? I would like to use the following image of a Christmas ornament without the white background. Using Photoshop 7 and the magnetic lasso, I had no problem extracting the original image from a white background. I then open a new transparent canvas and copy the extracted image to this canvas. However when I choose to save as a JPEG image, I'm back with the white background. I see in the Matte menu I can choose other backgrounds, e.g. black, grey, etc.. But is there any way to save the extracted pixels without any background. The reason I ask is that I want to use this extracted image in PrintShop, a card making program. I would like to be able to insert the image of the Christmas ornament without any background. Very often in creating a card you've already created a colored background. It would be nice to be able to insert the ornament without the rectangular white background.

I Cant Get My White Background To Match My Masked Image Size
id like to have her on a white background. im good all the way to the point where you use the 'move' tool to drag the masked image onto a white background ( which is a blank PS document saved in Jpeg). when i drag it over i end up with a huge close-up crop that fills the entire image of my white background so that you cant even see the white. conversely, when i drag the white background over my mask i only get a small rectangular box of white that fails to cover the entire background area once i drag the background layer below the mask.

Saving With No Background
can you save with out a background? I created a symbol/logo type thing and deleted the background layer so all I see is the symbol and the transperant checkerboard. When I go to save this file it automaticlly fills in the extraspace as white. Unless I save it as a photoshop file. I know i have done this before for my website, i just cant remember. So, could you guide me through how to save this logo so only the logo appeared and not any white background. I am using Photoshop 7.0

Why Do I Get A White Background When
When I open my company's logo (an EPS file) in Photoshop, it has a transparent background (the "checkered" one), which I DO want. But then when I Select All/Copy/Paste Special into my Word documents, it comes over with a white background. I do not want this, especially because the Word document has a gray background. So what happens is, the logo looks like it has a white box around it. HOW do I copy and paste this EPS file into Word so that the background stays transparent??Â

Saving .gif With Clear Background
I have made an image which I am planning on using for my website's logo. Now it was a png at first but decided to go for a .gif in the end. Yet when i save the image even though the layers I want to save only take up a very top part of my image (the other layers are there to template my website so I know how it looks).... Because the image is 800x1000 yet the logo is much smaller than this.. when i save the layers which are put as visible from the layer window I get an image file which is 800 by 1000 in size and just the logo up the top.. below it is just blank see through nothingness but it is acting as if the image is there. Kinda like: |----logo-----| blank blank blank blank |end of image| I want it to just be only: |---logo----| And nothing else. Is there a way to save just certain layers from the layers window?

White Letters In Red Background
I am fairly new to Photoshop and am using CS2. When I use a web header with white letters on a red background, it appears that the red has bled into the white letters. It doesn't make any difference in I save the file as a gif or jpeg. This takes place even when the file is saved at 100% quality.

White PSP Background Needs To Be Transparent
I've got three layers that all seem to be set against a transparent background, which is what i want. Only, when i flatten them, the layers appear on a white background, not transparent. No where on any of the layers is it white, so i can't figure out why this is happening. the outside edge is jagged, thus i can't just crop the picture. How in the world can i keep the transparent background when i flatten?

Removing White Background
Philadelphia Color on Flickr - Photo Sharing! All i want to do is remove the white so that I can put in a blue sky. I have selected the white (with quick selection) and deleted it. I even unlocked the layers, so once I delete I see the checkerboard. I try to place the image in Illustrator. The white comes back!

I'm trying to remove the white background from this image, as well as the white in between all of the rings: Then i want to change the color of the different colored rings. White Background -> Transparent GIF
I took an image that was a JPG of an icon on a white background, set the blending mode to Multiply, and painted white underneath the icon to preserve the colors. This basically leaves me with 2 layers that comprise the icon and its transparent background, and works wonderfully. However, I need to save this icon as a GIF with the transparent background, but when I save it the white background persists. I've tried loading the white bit as a selection and deleting what's outside, but that removes pieces of the image that aren't 100% transparent or opaque that I'd like to leave in for matte-ing. I don't know if I've explained this properly, so I'll attach the problem file. [quite small, only 160KB] I popped in a background for a better idea what I'm attempting, and if you remove it you'll see the troublesome white around the icon. I'm using Photoshop 7 on WinXP Pro.

My image doesnt have a white background in it, at first, and because i need to separate all the colour channels, so i went to flatten it and split the colour channels and save it .psd format The problem comes in when I import it to CorelDraw X3. I know that I can change the foreground (black) with monotone, but I want to change the white (inverting the image would just invert the problem, so it's no help). Changing White Background To Blue
I have about 200 pictures that have a white background that I need to change to blue. Normally I would use the wand, crop it with the pen or do a color selection. Remove White Background And Leave Transparent
I have some logos which all have a white background. I want to remove this white background to leave it transparent. So far I've managed to remove it but it hasn't been very clean as I've had to do it with brushes and lassos and havent had the effect I want. I want a clean edge but these all leave grey pixels that blended from the black edge into the white background or just remove the black completely. I'm looking for a reasonably quick way to do this, as I have 16 logos to get through and not too long to do it in.

Exchanging A White Background With A Photo [Extract]
I had a photo of a group of people. I didnt like the background so traced around the people with the brush tool in white and filled the background with white colour. I would like to exchange the white background with another photo. For example if I have a beach photo and I would like to use this as the background, is it possible to exchange the white with this. I would prefer to do this as opposed to cutting out the people and them on the beach photo. I tried the magnetic lasso tool to trace around the people so as to cut and paste them on another photo but was having trouble using this. Would appreciate directions on how to do this if it is possible. Also I would like to correct red eyes or iris' that are white. Where is the red eye tool located and/ or how would I manually replace the colour of the eyes with the natural colour (or close to it).

How To Print White Letters On A Transparent Background?
I'm starting off with a transparent BG, I'm saving the file as a png, and I'm writing in only #FFFFFF white with a drop shadow. I can see it on preview, but when I use color paper, the letters turn out transparent with the slight outline provided by the drop shadow. I can get any other color I want, but why isn't white showing up and how can I generate it?

Corrupt Image Saving
I try to save a .jpg or .png, the image file is corrupted. With JPEG's, it'll display most of the image, and then the rest will be just grayed out. With PNG's, I will get just a Red X in Internet Explorer, and a "image cannot be displayed because it contains errors." in Firefox.

PSD Keeps Saving Image As 32 Bit Depth...
I have some third-party presentation software that requires all images be 8-bit. So I used Photoshop for all photo editing and made sure my PSDs were 8-bit before exporting stills (PNGs) for my presentation. 50+ PNGs were successfully created this way, but i'm having problems with a single file. When I open the correct files in Windwos Pic/Fax View, right click, show properties, go to Summery (advanaced), all the correct files have a bit depth listed as 24. My problematic PSD says it's in 8-bit, but the PNGs that I create from it are consistently listed as having 32 bit depth in Windows Pic/Fax View. As a test I exported other images formats (TIFFs, JPEGs, etc...) and they all came out as 32 bit depth. How do I fix this? I tried opening the PSD, saving as different name, switching to 16-bit and then back to 8-bit, still didn't work.

No Image Folder When Saving For Web?
I have sliced up my image, and optimized it using save for web and devices, but when i save it out to a folder, i do not get a seperate image folder with all my pics in. My images and html file are all in the same folder. If i create my own image folder and drag the images into it, then it breaks the link in the html page.

Image From Transparent To White
I'm tring to create an image using color from transparent to white without any background. I want to use that image in an application where the user select a color and the fadding creates a nice effect with any color (because the image has a color from transparent to white so if the user select blue then image will appear from blue to white and so on). I can't seem able to do that in Photoshop (tried with gif and png). The result gives me a white image whithout any transparancy.

Saving Edit History Of An Image
I am using PS CS3. I would like to know if it is possible to save the edit history of a file - for example if I open a file I worked on a week ago I want to be able to find out what work had been done to it (eg levels, sharpening, curves etc). As far as I know, history is lost after a file is saved (in a flattened image).
