Terminating An AxtiveX Exe
Hi All,

I have developed an ActiveX exe application that can be shared by multiple apps. however, i would like it to terminate when a specific app no longer exists. it does close itself by keeping a count of the instances in use, but if an app crashes out, it is sometimes left hanging.

what would be the cleanest way for this activeX exe to close itself?

thank you in advance.

AxtiveX Control Permission !!!
Hi,

I have made a program in vb 6 containig an activeX control I build.
This activeX control opens drawings.

My main problem is in instaling my program on others computers containig
visual basic , c++ .... , because than they can use my activeX (its appear in the controls list), and by that they can add my control to thier projects.

I worked very hard on this control , I don't want people to use it - only in my program (when they install it).

I think that the answer to my problem is that in the installing process of my program - not to install this control as shared (I already removed the shared in the setup file but it didn't work the control still apears in the controls list).

Can someone help ?

Thanks in advance , Moyalt.

Return Values Of An AxtiveX Control
I have created an ActiveX control (ocx) in VB 6 that basically shows a drive list box, directory list box, file list box and a plain list box.  What I want the user to do is to browse through thier system looking for files and once they find a file they want, add it to the list box.  I have all of this working, but now I need to get the values of the list box or the names of the files they selected back to the calling program.  I am assuming this would be something like a property of the ActiveX control, but have no idea on how to use it or get the values.  Anybody have any suggetions?

Thanks for you help,
Jason

Reference An AxtiveX Dll Project In Another Project
Hi,

I know this sounds crazy but it happened and I have no idea about it. If anyone can give me some hint I really appreciate it.

I have several ActiveX Dll projects which I reference in other projects. They are all in the same group. At the beginning when I set these up, perfect, no problem. Everytime I compile the project group, I just do it. If I modified the source of the dlls, I can compile them with no problem.

After several days using the project group, Suddenly this annoying "permission denied drive:pathanything.dll" pops up. So I thought I might reference the dll by the dll name, not the vbp name. So I checked the settings but they are right. The rediculous thing is It only happens if I want to compile one particular dll. Other dll projects are good as before. More funny thing is, if I close the project group and reopen it, it let me compile again. Then I make changes then the annoying thing pops up. Then I have to close the project group and reopen.

Any one has any ideas? Tons of thanks.
