Visual Basic :: Modify Form On Button Press

What I want to do is basically depress a button on a different program. If you have used the Spy+ program that came with Visual Studio, I want to do somthing similar to that. Just as the Spy+ program will tell you the info of what ever the mouse is over, I also want to do that but have the button I am over to be pressed. Can anyone here give me some Ideas as to how I can do this? Thanks.

Simulating A Button Press On A Command Button
OK, here we go...

I have a command button that starts a database search. I have set an animation control to show a searchlight while the search is being performed, but want this to appear on the button.

The animation control has been placed over the button, but of course this stops the button being pressed. I have added in the 'click' procedure for the animation, a call to the 'click' procedure for the button, so it functions, but I want the button to look pressed for the duration of the mouse button press on the animation control.

Is there anybody who knows how?

I've got two command buttons that I use to control the volume of my app.

At the moment the user presses the applicable button and the volume is adjusted either up or down.

I want to allow the user to keep the button pressed down and adjust the volume accordingly rather than having to repeatedly press the button.

Is there a way to do this?

I want to have it to where I press a button say cmdA and have it placed into a string variable such as LETTERS. I also want to put more stuff into the string so that I can place all of that information into a random generator and in a label.

Example if ya don't understand:

cmdA gets clicked and the letter A is added to a string. a few more letters such as B and C are added from cmdB and cmdC being clicked. Another button, cmdDisplay, is pressed and the letters appear in a label called lblDisplay. cmdRandomGeneration is pressed and a random letter from the group is placed into a lbl.

I can create the generator and such, that's easy. I was just wondering if you guys had any ideas on how to do what I said. Thanks for any help in advance!

I would like to apologize in advance if this turns out to be a stupid question, but after searching to no avail, I haven't the faintest Idea on how to accomplish this.

Basically, I'm trying to make a helper function, called Wait, that will not let any code proceed until the boolean variable "Ready" is true. This variable is changed by certain buttons being pressed with "Ready = True".

I tried a Do While loop that should have looped until Ready was true, but when I went to run the program, it locked up. I assume because it ended up being a never ending loop.

Next I looked on the internet and found some code that would sleep a program. I tried it, and added that to the loop in hopes of slowing it down, so it would check on the variable and then sleep for 1 second, and repeat. This also locked up, and seems like a bad way to handle this.

I hope that this description was clear, if not don't hesitate to ask for me to elaborate, and thanks in advance to anyone willing to spend a little time helping me out here, No Rush though.

How To Press Button Without Shortcut??
i need my program to close an application (JRun) gracefully.
Manually the only way is to press the 'Stop' button. However the doesn't button doesn't have a shortcut so i can't use Sendkeys command.

does anyone know of any program or way of recording mouse clicks (like a sort of windows macro) that i can call to make the mouse click the stop button?

(or alternatively a dos line command to stop JRun)

Also, If I have windows in one MDI window, I'd like to hide the individual max and min buttons for other forms, but when I hide them all, the form doesn't show up in the MDI window. Hope that makes sense.

Capture Print Button Press
Is there a way to capture when a user clicks the print button in Word via VBA? My program has a template created and if the users want to modify something, they want to be able to click the print button and have the file print at two separate printers (I can set the printers, which is no problem). I would have it print as soon as the user form closes, but that doesn't give the user the ability to print the modified version. Is it possible to capture an event outside of the VBA program? If I can get that, I can make do the rest. I've tried recording macros, but it only records the ActiveDocument.PrintOut function and doesn't recognize the button name or event. I've searched for related topics in the forms and on the web, but I'm coming up short (perhaps searching for the wrong topics...?) Any help would be much appreciated!

Loop Action Without Button Press
I have a simple form with three text values for different speeds ie 10mph 30mph and 50mph. Basically what I am trying to do is have a loop that will check these three values and perform some action say making a command box visible when all three conditions are met.

I have been able to get this to work by placing a bunch of if then statements on each button rasing or lowering the speed in the box {each button is programmed with text.1text= text1.text+5} to raise it by 5 mph but there should be a way that i can do this without having to use conditional statements on each button right?

Am i right in saying you need to find the handle(via the api spy) of the button you wanted pressed if you want to shell open some app then auto press a certain button on that app ?

Say i wanted to shell open disk defragger, then have the start button auto click for ex...

If so whats the next stage, well i think you need, FindWindow() and various other api calls.

i have a checkbox that constantly needs to be toggled on and off during the use of an app.

what i would like to do is toggle the checkbox ticked/unticked by pressing a specific button on the keyboard (i was thinking maybe the caps lock, but any button would do)

Use 8 Variables ( i.e. Picture0Val, Picture1Val etc. ) increased by 1 eah
time reference button is pressed.

Variables must be reset to zero after the 3rd click called the event ( nt
indicated in your message ).

If you need to close vbp or form and keep variables values before closing
store values in a database with 8 fields named accordingly.

On reopening extract variables value from database.

Hello,

Since today sth very strange in my vb6 development. I'm starting a vb-program in run from design, put some breakpoints.

When arriving on a breakpoint, check the code, press the stop-button and my vb-design shuts completely down.

Anyone seen this ? and solution ??????
