Avoid Printer From Ejecting The Paper After The Last Line Printed? (VB - Printer.print)
how to stop the printer from ejecting the paper after the last line has printed?
assume i'm making an invoice for my small store, and i want to print the items my customer bought downward, so whether it's 1 item, or 5 items, or 100 items, i want the printer stop after the last item has printed ( plus my invoice's footer off course ). i am using VB 6, and 'printer.print' code to print and my printer is EPSON LX-300+. and my database is SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition. is there anyone can help? i really appreciate any help you offer

PS : i've been searching this forum and try all topics related to my issue but nothing's suitable for me...so if there's someone can be more specific, i would really appreciate it

Printing On Pre-Printed Forms
I have an app which allows users to fill in medical forms. I have images of these forms on the screen and the users fill in the appropriate details ie. textboxes and tick marks (which are images). The forms are larger than the screens. I need to print the user inputs on the pre-printed forms. I have tried using the printform method but only the sections visible on the screen are printed.

I may also need to allow the users to align the printing. Has anyone done something similar?

Thanks

Printing To A Printed Document
I need to gather data from the database, format it and send
it to the printer so that each piece of text prints in its correct
position on a federal form. What tools, methodologies should I be investigating?

Over Printing Pre Printed Forms
i want to get my program to fill in the boxes on a pre-printed form.

I am using the currentX and currentY properties to position the the text insertion point. What I've noticed is that increasing the x and y properties by the same amount does not always have predictable results.

If say increasing the vaue of currentY by K moves the text down 1cm, then increasing it by a further K moves it down further a little more than 1cm and the the discrepancy increases with every increment.
This makes positioning text very difficult

Why is this? Could it just be a problem with my printer?

Printing Into Spaces On Pre-printed Form
The title says what I am trying to do. The dot matrix printer does not load the printed form to exactly the same spot each time, so I have to have both a horizontal and a vertical adjustment before starting to print. In VB3 I printed a diagonal scale on the document, stopped, and adjusted the print location based on the points on the scale that hit a reference point on the document. But I can't get VB4 to print that scale and stop. When I use "enddoc" the page is ejected after the scale is printed. Any suggestions on how to print character(s) on the document then stop and allow the position of the subsequent printing to be adjusted based on where that character appears on the document? Or some other way to be sure I hit the right spaces with my printing?

Printing A VB Form Comes Half Printed

I have tried to debug this prob. But the prob is I am unable to understand why and when it comes.

I am printing a Data grid to the printer in my application and use a the common dialog box to get the settings. The user can in the advanced settings set the paper size. Printing To Short Paper
Hi Guys

I am writing an application that needs to print to 6"long fanfold sheets
on a continuous printer. The printer is a Panasonix KXP-1180. The
drivers on win 2000 do not allow a custom sheet size to be set, and when
I adjust the printer.Height property it makes no difference.

My query therefore consistes of 2 questions:

1. Is there any way I can accomplish this using the standard methods
available in VB, or

2. Should that not be available, how do I print in dos mode from within
my vb App?

Thanks In advance

Printing Graphics Outside Of Paper Margins
If I print graphics using the Printer.Circle, Printer.Line methods etc, outside of the papers margins, sometimes the printer tries to print multiple pages to cover the entire graphic area.

I can easily check to see if the co-ordinates are within the paper margins and not print these co-ordinates but then the problem is that I may want to see an arc on the paper which is an edge of a large circle which has a centre co-ordinate well of the sheet of paper.

Is there a way to force the printer to not print multiple sheets and ignore graphics which are well off the single sheet of paper margins? Is there a printer coordinate clipping control?

DataReport Printing On Continuous Paper
hey, guys.

i'm still learning the ins and outs of data reports, and here's my problem:

after displaying data in a listview, i'll be using data report for printing. however, i don't know how to set the program up so that it prints ok on continuous paper (the kind dot matrix printers feed on, with the holes in the sides). from the datareport preview, it looks to me like it's normally set up for printing on 8.5" x 11" paper.

is there a way to set it up so that the program automatically prints data on continuous paper, without fiddling with the printer? could anyone show me some sample code for that?

i tried searching this site for tips on that, but so far i've come up blank. any help would be appreciated.

thanks a lot.

Printer Just Feeds Out Paper Instead Of Printing
Hello to everyone viewing.

I have a printing problem.

My VB6 program has to print a list which comprises of a header, a few labels and the contents of a listview, the code I use is posted below.

Most of the time this code works perfectly fine and prints the list as required but every now and again when I try to print the list, the printer just feeds out blank sheets out paper continuously and prints nothing.

I have tried my program on 3 seperate computers with 3 different types of printer, they all print ok but all 3 just feed out paper occasionaly.

Here is my code.

Code:
Private Sub cmdPrint_Click() 'Print ListView command
Dim a As clsPrintLV
Set a = New clsPrintLV 'Call Print Class module

a.PrintListView ListView1
Printer.EndDoc

MsgBox "The current list has been sent to the Printer.", vbInformation, "Print Manager"
End Sub

Printing: Trays And Paper Forms
Hello there!

I need to find out how to programmatically retrieve all paper trays and their assigned paper forms of a given printer.

Let's say we have a printer A with 2 trays; tray 1 is assigned to A4, tray 2 is assigned to a custom paper form X.
Let's add a printer B with 3 trays; tray 1 and 2 is assigned to A4, tray 3 is assigned to custom paper form X.

Now if a user hits a button I want to check whether the default printer( could be A or B) has custom paper form X assigned to any of its trays. If so I want to switch tray and print out the document on the special paper form.

So far I managed to enumerate all trays of a printer and their bin numbers. But what I could not find is the relationship between tray and assigned paper form.

Any ideas how this could be done? Maybe with more API-Calls? Or VBAScript calling WMI?
All tips, hints, thoughts ar appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Herbert

How To Control Continuous Paper When Printing
I've developed a vb application which prints receipts. The receipts are continuous form with half the size of a letter paper for each. I'm using Epson LX300 dot matrix printer to print the receipts. My problem is when i print one receipt, the printer loads up one letter size paper instead of just half. So this affects the next receipt to be printed because it is not aligned anymore, i still have to manually adjust the printer tractor to set the right vertical alignment before printing the second receipt.

is there a way to specify the paper size or anything that could help me with my problem?

Printing The Whole Form In A Specific Paper Size
Hi there,
i am a VB beginner just learning how to print a form. How do I print the whole form instead of just printing what can be seen on screen? I have read some threads in this forum but they seem too complicated for me .

As for printing to a specified paper size, I found a suggestion by hacibumbala:

Printer.PaperSize = vbPRPSLetter
Form.Height = Printer.Height
Form.Width = Printer.Width
Printer.PrintForm (this I put as Form.Printform )

but I got an error message:"Run-time error '486':Can't print form image to this type of printer"

Another thing is, how do I specify the size of paper? vbPRPSLetter is for letter size, right? What if I want to print in A4 size?

Thanks a lot!!

Printing To Paper Bins/trays...problem!
Hi folks, I'm having a terrible time trying to make my program print to a particular paper tray. When I try using 'Printer.PaperBin = vbPRBNMiddle' I get 'invalid property value'. If I try using something like 'Printer.PaperBin = 2' I get the same message. When I test the value of Printer.PaperBin at program start, it's something strange like 1267 or 265. Anyone familiar with trying to print to a hp4200 with 3 extra trays? I can't use Printer.Papersize because I have different forms which happen to be the same size. Help!!! (Please?)

Help For Printing A Report On A Legal Size Paper
