Song part is allready completed. Now i m not able to use modem in my software has yet i m not confirm eighter i should use MSCOMM OCX or TAPI3 . Make sure i m using Modem.

Is It Possible To Demodulate A Recorded Modem Stream Via Software?
I have a strange request. I have some .Wav/.Aiff files of a 9600baud modem audio output (what's heard through the speaker). Is it possible to demodulate these into serial data internally (via Software) without running them back through a modem?
Do you know of any libraries or code that anyone has shared that is headed in this direction?

I develop VB5 applications for my company. I currently use NT workstation 4.0 and develop for NT workstations and win 95 machines.
I have now recieved a new laptop for my development work that has come with win 2000 pro on it. I need advise what OS I should work with. Can I make my projects on the w2k platform for nt4 and win 95 machines or will this cause problems ? should I have the 20 gig HD split into 3 partitions , one for win 95 , one for w2k and one for nt4 or is this just asking for trouble. Or would I be better having a win 95 and nt booting system. I need advise, please feel free to offer coments. I would like to keep w2k pro but at the moment only have apps on nt4 and win 95.

How To Program "modem" Software?
I have 2 PC's and both have Nokia 6310 as a modem. What I need to do is send parameters from another PC to other. The other PC makes a SQL query with this parameters and returns the data to other PC. So any hints how to perform this kind of task? Do you know any place where I can find example code for modem programming? So what I need to do is:
1.Make connection to other PC with modem
2.Send parameters (1 23:45 12.2.2002....)
3.Make a query with these parameters
4.Send the result back
5.Clode connection

I'm a business education teacher who teaches an introductory Visual Basic class every other year. No other programming class is offered at our high school.
I see by this site that Visual Basic must still be popular, so I have a few questions:
1. Should we be offering a programming language other than Visual Basic?
2. How difficult is it to convert to Visual Basic.Net?
3. Do you think we should be converting to Visual Basic.Net, or should we stick with Visual Basic? The local technical school offers both.
4. Does anyone know of a source for VERY inexpensive copies of Visual Basic 6, working edition? I have two that came with books from Lawrenceville Press. I don't use the books, but I need a licensed copy of the program for each computer I have--or an inexpensive networkable version. The Internet sites I've found for prices list it at about $800, which is high for the enrollment of the class.

Modidying Array On Demand
I'm having a little problem that i'm confusing myself with right now.. I have an array to store products, when when the user wants to remove a product, i want it to remove the product from the array and update it so the count is still valid.. like product(1) = chair, product(2) = sofa, product(3) = tv.. if the user removes the sofa then it'll be product(1) = chair, product(2) = tv, and so on.. I'm playing with this code but i'm not sure if it will work:

I've modified my treeview so it will load only the subitems needed for a specific node.
It works fine when the text is clicked, but clicking the '+' does not trigger that routine.
How can I catch the click on the '+', and is it possible to have the tag returned so I can use that as input in my routine to load the subitems?

4: MSDN has a section on serial communications with API code in C++.. i do not know C and have at least 70 modems to configure before august. I need to automate this process. all the activex controls i have seen tell you how to work with modems already installed not how to install them with the API windows uses. they all claim to expose everything the windows code does, but there is no Addmodem function.. I guess that is what i need.

Winsock Problem...Load On Demand IS QUICKER??!!
I have 3 classes: User, Usertasks and Usertask.
User has an ID and a Username field, Usertask has an ID, Description and UserID fields...
I have 4 users:
User 1 has 350 tasks
user 2 has 6 tasks
User 3 has 1000 tasks
User4 has 0 tasks
Now, to load these, I can do 1 of 2 things...Load users with tasks, or without. If I load users WITH tasks then the call to the server creates a large structured XML doc and passes EVERYTHING back to the client in one call.
If I load users WITHOUT tasks then the data sent back from the server is just the user data. If I try and access a users tasks then it loads them from the sevrer for each user I try and access, thus Load on demand...
Now this is done using TCP/IP winsock thingy...BUT
If I load ALL data in ONE call to the server it takes 1.2 seconds.
If I load ALL data by only loading the users then loading each of the user tasks in turn, load on depand, 5 calls to the server, then it takes 1 second!!!
WHAT?!
WHY?!
EH?!
Surely it shoudl be the otehr way around????
Unless there is a thing with winsock where sending large amounts of data in one go is slower than 5 smaller calls...which is what the bench testing has suggested....
Any ideas???

What would happen if there's already text in the file... i need it to add the line, and NOT overwrite the file completely.
So the user enters a line which says...
"Stupid question"
The test.txt file would read...

The next user enter's...
"Need an answer"
The test.txt would then read...

MSFlexGrid (locating And Coloring Specific Cells On Demand)
Anyone out there know if it is possible to do the following with an MSFlexGrid?
- Click on a CommanButton (cmdFind).
- Search the MSFlexGrid for data specified by the user (GridMasterTierList)
- Scroll to the 1st cell in the grid which contains the data specified by the user.
- Change the background color of that cell to red.
I am quite a bit of a newbie here. You can try to explain it to me, however, some sample code will likely work best (or if you're feeling energetic write the whole darn thing).

Sending Data From Modem To Modem

I have 2 modems which i am using to send data between 2 vp apps. At least that's what i want to do, but i'm not too sure how.
Here's what i think i need to do. I want my modem A to dial the modem B on my pc. Then i want the vb app on modem A to send data to the VB app on modem B . So i need the mscomm control to send AT commands to modem A so it can dial modem B .
Has anyone done this before ? Just need some tips as to how to get started. How do i actually send a string ( my data) using an AT commands, to the remote modem ?

Modem-To-Modem Communication... So Lost
i know there are many topics here around the issue as i've been looking around to find an answer before starting a new post.
though i'm putting together some code and still it does not seem to work right... i hope someone can point me in the right direction.
i'm programming a simple client/server application:
1. the client uses a modem, dials the server's number;
2. server picks up the phone;
3. server sends "HELLO" text to client;
4. client diplays incomed text in a textbox.
i can get the client modem to call using the ATDT# command, and the server modem to respond using the ATA command.
however, when the phones are connected (i can hear my voice coming out of the server phone), i still do not get the CONNECTED message on the client application. i do receive BUSY if the phone is busy, but no signal when the phone has been answered.
i get the same problem using hyperterminal, so VB may not be the issue here, rather: HOW do i establish a connection between two application via modem so that i can transfer pure text between them?
if someone can help i'm really getting lost here...

Communication Modem To Modem Problems
I have a program that dials and connects with a machine running an answering program. The program dials, connects, sends 6's till it sees a 7, then sends 3 passwords, one at a time after receiving A's from the answering program. It then sends files. My problem is, I had it working on one machine(in VB, not compiled), but when I try it on 2 different machines, I connect, but never see any input or output on either machine. I have also been having trouble with certain modems not being able to connect to each other. I have a third party control that works just like the MSComm control with a few extras. I tried using both controls, the results were the same. I am just learning programming, and the person who wrote the original answer program, programs in DOS, so maybe we are just missing something that windows controls. One more thing, the machines that the program worked on were Win95 and a non windows machine(answering machine). The program won't work on a Win98 machine sending to a non windows machine. Modem To Modem Communication
is it possible to write a VB program that can control 32 modems, with a dialog box for each modem, to accept incoming calls? I know how to do it with one modem, but I haven't found anything on multiple modems. We have a program that does this which is written in C++ but I don't know much about C++, I am strong in VB, so I'd like to possibly rewrite it in VB so I will be able to better support the software.

I have an idea of a project is to develop a speaking browser. The browser will interpret a web page, and produce a sensible speech rendition of the page. The browser would be intended for visually disabled users, users who may need to use the visual pathway for a higher priority task (e.g. a driver), or developers of sites where users may use speaking browsers. The browser will have embedded strategies to cope with HTML formatted data. For example will read tables cell by cell, and will read ALT tags from images if available. Development could be for Windows PCs (perhaps using Visual Basic and commercially available text to speech plugins), Apple Mac (perhaps using Real Basic and MacOS text to speech), or possible handheld (Palm or PocketPC). Possible extensions could look at the way users with limited mobility could enter commands, select links etc..

I developed a project for my company in VB6 and Access at my home (still it is on the way).Then I copied all the stuff in a floppy and copied again at my office.At home everything is running smoothly.But when I start further development and tried to run it.But the error messages "project or object no found" are prompting for the format, trim,len functions.I checked the object browser everything is there in the list.
Last time I did the same thing,but no error .This time this kind of errors I am getting.Anyone is there to getrid of this.Please give me a solution.
Note:I have all the forms and the database in the same folder.
