Jan 21, 2016i recently bought a new laptop with windows 10 preloaded with it. i have two internet connections but it only picks up one. it doesn't even show the other one.

Oct 1, 2015I've been having this issue for a long time (not sure how long), some internet pages that require the browser to load resources/images/whatever are laggy as all hell. Sometimes they load fine, but other times it takes forever to load thumbnails of videos on Youtube or images on Google Images.I clean my cache and registry, using CCleaner, fairly often so it's not a clutter issue. I scan my computer fairly often too, using Malwarebytes and Windows Defender, and never found a threat so it's not a virus/malware issue. I have no internet toolbars, speed enhancing apps or any other programs of the kind. I also have my drivers up to date.

Oct 29, 2015Up until recently Ive had a steady and stable internet connection on all devices, however recently on one laptop the connection is now incredibly slow (multiple tests on bandwidthplace.com show download speeds of 0.1 Mbps while on another laptop connected to the same connection shows over 7mbps). Connection to my android phone works fast too, I don't know what is making this happen, Ive tried resetting the router, refreshing the connection, releasing/renewing the ip. Not sure what to do here, as I don't have this problem connected to other networks, and other devices on this network aren't experiencing the same issues.
I also updated to the latest available driver from my manufacturer's website and I'm not 100% sure if I have all the latest windows updates since the connection is barely sustained, but I believe I do as I frequently manually check for updates in addition to automatic updates being enabled.

Oct 5, 2015About 3 months ago, I upgraded my ASUS GL551JM Laptop to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. Now, whenever I close my laptop lid, or put my laptop to sleep using the "Zz" key on my keyboard, it restarts when I try to wake it up. All my unsaved work would be gone. I don't even get a restart prompt.
When I used to run Windows 8.1, I could just normally close the laptop lid, and open it without fearing that my laptop would restart.
In What Order Should Install ASUS Laptop Drivers

I just did a fresh install of win 7 home Premium, and installed the windows updates that came up automatically. I'd like to keep this system free of bloat and I do NOT have the driver update/laptop install disc.
I have formatted the SSD twice now because (I think) I installed drivers in an improper order; I keep having different issues with unrecognized hardware or sound not working etc. This time around I have gone only with Win 7 updates and now I would like to install only what is necessary to get this back to gaming.
So what is the order I should go on? Here is the list of drivers available from ASUS: [URL] .....
So is it chipset 1st... then restart... then GFX drivers+restart then... etc. Just getting this machine to work properly again

Mar 23, 2016I got a Asus ux501vw laptop a couple of months ago and have been having an issue with the screen not be able to turn back on after it turns off.
I'm running Windows 10 x64. The issues happens in any resolution (it's a 4k screen but usually I run 1080p for better software compatability).
This happens when it goes into power saving mode or I use fn7. I can't get the screen back on unless I close the laptop lid and sign back in again. When it happens I can sometimes change the brightness and I can hear notification noises which suggest the laptop is running fine without the screen being on.
Steps I have tried with no result:
- rolling back gpu driver to version thathat came with laptop
- updating bios and chipset (recommended by asus)
- resetting the power management settings
Some weird findings:
- in safety mode there is no issue (though when the screen shuts off I can see the backlight is on full which is different to normal boot)
- If there is a second monitor plugged in the issue goes away (in either extend or duplicate)
- if there is no second monitor plugged in and I hit f7 the screen won't turn back on. As soon as I plug in the second monitor the screen comes back on.
What could be causing this? Is there some monitoring program I should use to find out what is happening when the screen is supposed to be back on but it's not?
ASUS Laptop X751L / USB Ports And WiFi Stopped Working?

Yesterday the USB ports and wifi stopped working within a couple hours of each other.
When plugging in a USB device the laptop makes an audible signal that it picks it up but nothing happens after that.

Nov 27, 2015I ran Windows 8.1 on my desktop machine a few months ago, and later upgraded to Windows 10. Everything worked great at that time, but since have replaced Windows with Linux. Now I'm trying to install Windows again, with the same 8.1 disk that I used for my earlier installation, and my ethernet connection isn't found. (this is a direct wired ethernet, not wireless) I've installed with a local user account, dug into every networking utility in Windows, but whatever I do the internet goes undetected. I've run the ethernet thru different routers, and even circumvented the router all-together, but no luck. Has my 8.1 disk "expired"?

Oct 14, 2015But I'm currently browsing the internet and typing to you.
In fact - I can do virtually everything (League; Steam; Skype; etc) except use any OS feature that requires logging in -
e.g. Mail, User Accounts, Shop, etc. Then it says something along the lines of "Cannot use this service without an internet connection - please connect and try again." When I run Network Diagnostics as the prompt recommends - it says I am connected and cannot find a problem.
It doesn't always happen - but it seems to be determined on start-up. If I restart it now it might be working next launch - but 75% of the time it will encounter the same issue. It's been happening for months now but I've sort of gotten used to using my phone to check my emails - but I've now encountered an issue with one of my hard drives being unable to be searched (tried indexing, etc) and the only step I've found that I haven't tried says it could be a corrupted user account - but I cannot update my user account without "connecting to the internet". -_-
The system is up to date. No driver updates available.

Feb 10, 2016The other day, I tried to do a factory reset on my laptop, but it failed, and I could only click cancel. Now, when I booted up my computer, it goes to the ASUS logo, then a black screen, still backlit, with an underscore flashing in the upper left corner of the screen. I can access the BIOS, and have been trying to do boot overrides. I don't have the ASUS Recovery partition installed on the laptop, and I don't have any possible ways to install an ISO. T

The Windows Vista laptop can see the files within the Windows 10 laptop. The Windows 10 laptop can see the Windows Vista computer but as soon as it tries to see inside it gives an error about "spelling of the name, etc." If using the diagnosis tool it says "One or more network protocols are missing from this computer". "Resolving problems as administrator" does not solve anything.

Feb 22, 2016I have a laptop running Windows 7 that is connected to a printer. I am connected to the internet using a WiFi connection. I have a homegroup called workgroup. My wife has a laptop running Windows 7, connects to the internet using the same WiFi modem and prints using the printer on my laptop.
I downloaded Windows 10 on to my Windows 7 laptop and all of a sudden my wife can't print anymore. Microsoft, you've done it again. How I hate this!
I fooled around with HomeGroup settings on the Windows 10 laptop and the system attributes on my wife's laptop and now I can see her computer on my Windows 10 system. But I cannot see the printer on my system from her laptop.
I tried to click on my compueter from her laptop and I get a request for username and password. I don't know what username and password to use. I gather from reading the forum that I should put the name of my laptop in the username but I don't know where to look for the password.
HP Laptop Overheating All The Time - No Internet After Downgrading To Win 7
Aug 8, 2015I upgraded from win 7 ultimate to win 10 pro, but then downgraded back to 7 because my HP laptop was overheating all the time.
