Meta Search 4.6.0
With this perl script you can start a metasearch service from your own web-site. Metasearch queries are performed by a parallel querying of numerous search engines, merging and sorting their results and returning the resulted set to the client.
Features:
Templates usage. You can control footer, header, etc. The template system allows inclusion of local files, script outputs and off-site content.
The http connections support gzip http compression and thus reduces your server's traffic.
Perform metasearch queries. Search engines are grouped by category and you can select the metasearch category.
Browse results clustered by most frequently occurred phrase.
Stars displayed next to the result's title according to the number of url duplicates.
Summary of what results each search engine returned is available.
You can add more search engines to the software by building add-on modules through an intuitive module building form and/or perl programming knowledge about regular expressions. There are modules Make, Update and Test functions.
You can update/test your already made search engine add-on modules.
You can restrict access to the software by IP address, http referer host.
An option to restrict the used CPU resources per module to protect from bad regular expressions (Unix only).
You can change affiliate codes for a search engine without a module rebuild but just from Admin Panel.
You can get results not only from the first search engine results pages but from all other giving you the possibility to make maximum deep searches.
Highlighting results from any number of search engines.
An option to rotate the http requests on random basis through a list of http proxy servers.
You can have multiple metasearch queries performed along with the main metasearch query and have their results displayed next to the results of the main search.
An option to try several times to connect to remote sites if there are some connectivity problems.
Supports access, error and counter logs.
Possibility to sort results by any field.( like sorting sponsored links by bid cost )
The software does not query Google.com search engine because a such action is a violence of their Terms Of Service.
